The staff were helpful and pleasant The location was perfect for the historic district Our room was large and spacious The valet dented our vehicle Our room was not ready at the 3:00 check in time We would have benefitted from more towels however they were brought promptly when we asked It woukd have been helpful to have a small fridge
Clean on the water AC loud, had to get car from valet lot myself in the early AM. Was told would get a room with view but didn't
Great location, modern design, cleanliness, courteous staff
Location; bathroom No guest amenities; no coffee or newspapers in lobby; no fridge, bad a/c ; bad pillows; poor selection of tv channels; cramped room size. Nowhere to sit comfortably.
Staff, room, and ambiance were super. Rooftop bar was great. tv remote needed new batteries
The staff was great, the room was even better, one of the best hotels I have stayed in! The river view and the night life around was also very nice! Valet parking was the only option for 25. per night, but the staff there was very nice also.
The rooms and common areas in front of hotel spacious, clean and modern. No pool. Parking expensive
We had a room directly underneath the lobby/elevator area. All we could hear constantly were footsteps and people walking around. It is terrible that this is even a room that the hotel would put people in. It seems obvious that good hotel design would utilize this space for other hotel amenities/uses rather than a room that people have to sleep in (or be kept awake in).
A very clean, upscale and modern hotel right on the riverfront. The Top Deck roof top bar is a great place to hang out and unwind after a day of walking the historic district. Look out over the city or watch the huge cargo ships passing through. You are located above river street with a bunch of neat little stores and just a few blocks away from City Market where there is always something going on. I'd highly recommend this place Room was a little smaller than I expected but frankly didn't spend a whole lot of time in there. Everything else was great.
Love the location, fantastic to walk around beautiful historic downtown. Right on River Street. Felt very safe. The bathrooms are very nice and such a nice size, much bigger that most that are the size of a small closet. The floor was not very clean, like it had not been mopped. I would also maybe suggest another hotel if you are traveling with children. The rooftop bar is great, but you also have to contend with lots of drunks. I would not like to expose my children to the language and the fact that most people riding the elevator are seriously drunk!
Very comfortable bed, excellent river view, great staff.
Bed was comfortable and the room was comfortable overall. Was in a room that had a door that adjoined to the next room that seemed very thin. At 5am could hear the people in the adjoining room so clearly it sounded like they were in the room with me. TV remote did not work, and the clock had not been set for the current time. Most hotels will allow a 1hr late checkout . . . Not here! And noticed what appeared to be a small patch of mold in the bathroom.
Great location, lovely and helpful staff, clean rooms Half of hotel was undergoing renovation, and while they maintained a fairly clean and quiet atmosphere, walking into a hall rented with plastic and filled with power tools was a bit unsettling. Travelers ought to be advised of such things prior to booking...and given a steeper discount.
Beautiful hotel rooms impeccable Service wonderfull I will recomendé to friends and family and will like to go to another in another city
The indoor pool is small , and on the cool side , but it was January. They are under construction, but it was quiet and is in NEED of updating .Clean , staff was super friendly, breakfast cafe is low quality, outdated, had the feel of a motel.Had I not got a great deal on this hotel,I would've been hugely disappointed. My Daughter goes to S.C.A.D ,So I've been to many hotels in the historic center, this is on the bottom of my list of places to stay.
Love the modern rooms Mint scented shampoo
Nice room, but overpriced for what was provided It was indicated that breakfast was part of the deal...and it was for $13.00 per person. The worst was having to pay for parking ACROSS the street from the hotel. Made loading and unloading a pain.
The location is nice Everything else is horrible. Major renovations under way. They even renovate on Sunday's which is horrible. The bed is probably a 2 on a scale of 1-10. Room is small and no parking because you cannot park in the garage
I was not aware that the hotel was under construction. It was kid of a mess and I wouldn't have booked a reservation for our anniversary here if o had know that. I was pretty disappointed.
The hotel was a really great deal, especially for the quality of hotel. It was a little on the outskirts of the downtown area.
Clean room, very comfortable bed, great location. It was an easy walk to the waterfront and the historic district. I would definitely stay here again. I would have liked a coffeemaker in the room.
The parking was on ground floor and convenient, glad we didn't have to go across the street. WE were able to walk around easily, room was clean but not drop dead gorgeous but nice. Staff VERY friendly and accommodating. I agree with breakfast issue. Reminded me of the free breakfasts at other chains. I would not have paid $13 unless I had a per diem, was hungry and in a hurry.
The coffee maker Desk staff rude. Renovation took over the complete hotel - our hallway on 5th floor, temporary lobby nasty, Madison room terrible. Such a hotel should not be charging for a breakfast pastry esp under these conditions. Cleaning staff did not address our room at all. Bed too soft. Live and learn - the hard way
The hotel staff was great. I was quite surprised with the level of service. It struck me as being on the level of a much more expensive hotel.
Comfortable, clean, convenient. Loved the facility. Would have liked to have had a sauna and/or hot tub at facility.
The staff are great. The location is also great. The complimentary beverages (not the alcohol) were a nice feature. The terrace with pool and fire pit is nice. I would definitely stay there again. The housekeeping was fine but could have been a little bit better. Didn't leave clean towels one of the days we stayed. The fitness center is a little small.
The location is great. The staff is generally nice and friendly. Never replace our shower ropes during our 5 days stay. The bathroom floor is not clean. The mattress and pillows are way to soft and I sinked into the matress. Every morning the staff will keep banging and closing the doors for supply closest and every room while they clean . It's extremely rude and unprofessional.
This is the only place we stay at in Savannah now that we do not live in town. Staff is amazing! Great room and service from all of the staff. Room was very clean.
The room was beautiful and stylish. The bed was so big and soft, I had to literally roll out of it. The staff was incredibly courteous. The continental breakfast included in my package was unlike anything I had ever seen. So many wonderful food options, and all of it was delicious! I look forward to my next stay there.
Extremely Accommodating under extended circumstances. Very friendly staff.
All the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The front desk staff seemed to show a genuine interest in our day or plans to come, Kelly always mentioned other ideas or have her view of ours. We will definitely be staying here again.
Location is great. Quiet and secluded, but easy walk to city center. Warm and welcoming staff. Very pleasant gathering room and garden courtyard. Guestrooms somewhat small, but comfortable. On your own for on-street metered (during weekdays) parking.
Kelly who worked at the front desk was so nice and accommodating. She immediately made us feel at home. I will definitely return to the Eliza Thompson House -- such a special place!
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Location was okay for us. Hotel was undergoing renovations. Bathroom doors in the room did not close. Had to go through three rooms to find one that was acceptable, but even then the room we were in had issues. Not enougbsestingfor breakfast people were sitting on the floor in the hallways eating.
We love this hotel and decided to stay even though there was construction taking place. Our room was out of the sound of the construction but the lobby! Oh MY! We had no idea. Jackhammers as we walked in. Deafening. And the breakfast was in 2 small, crowded spaces, instead of the lovely lobby where it usually is. See the other side.
the front desk staff was awesome, the laundry was an added bonus and the parking was great!
It was all modern/contemporary and designed very unique. Lobby was really cool. Complimentary breakfast was AMAZING--- we chose the hotel because it was included (which is hard to come by in that area) and it did not disappoint! Parking was $20 per day with the hotel valet. But there was a parking deck right next door that was only $5, so we parked there instead.
Modern decor. Hotel mailed me the shirt I forgot in the closet! Shower was under powered.
Our first anniversary started out very stressful and hectic, this being our first time in Savannah, and our trip being largely unplanned, but this hotel redeemed it, from the moment we walked in the stress melted away, our room was beutiful, bed was super Comfy, couldnt have asked for more from our rooms, and the hubby And i loved the happy hour "reception" at the dinning area. We only stayed one night so i didnt get alot of time to see any other amenities. I only wish that house keeping knocked louder (i thought she was down the hall until she opened our door) and that the pillows hadnt been down (allergies) and i never thought to ask if they had others
I did not like that the hotel charged for parking.
Great morning breakfast, easy walk to all sites.
We could easily walk to the beautiful and bustling riverfront where all the action was - great restaraunts, shops, etc.
The pros of this stay here include the great location, the breakfast that's included, the cleanliness of the room's bathroom, and the courteous staff Major cons that ruined my entire stay would include the infestation of Insects in my room (ants) on the floors and walls. The front desk associate who overcharged my card two more times after I had already booked and paid for my room online. And me not getting the type of room I requested when I booked and paid online. I will also like to include the poor parking unless you're paying for valet.
the comfortable beds I was charged for $90 of parking when I was told it would be $60 for 2 nights. The staff did not seem to be extremely helpful either.
The hotel was a short walk away from River Street. Hotel has the old world charm in keeping with Savannah. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Not ideal that the parking deck is a couple of blocks away from the hotel and costs $15 per day. I reserved a King room but we had to stay in a room with 2 Double beds because there were no kings available when we checked in.
Easy check in and friendly staff Bathroom floor was a bit dirty
Location! Close to everything. Really liked the fact that coffee was available at all times, and the cookies were a nice touch. Breakfast was wonderful--they even had a "to go" breakfast on the final day, as our flight left before breakfast was even served. Staff was courteous and helpful.
Breakfast Location helpful staff some street noise
Very clean, spacious rooms. the staff with extremely nice and valet was very convenient. The location is perfect for river street and the other tourist spots. This was my first time staying at courtyard Marriott and I will definitely stay again.
old savannah tour was the best
Fairly close to the city market and river street. $5 UBER ride back and forth or about a 4 block walk. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Valet parking only, and it's $18 per day.
Staff We did online check in and they didn't use it
Located across street from Civic Center. Even on 5th floor we could hear red light green light traffic all night.
We really liked the walking proximity to everything. If you walk, bring a backpack for water and stuff you buy. The staff was Southern hospitality at it's Savannah best. The hotel was clean and they provided plenty of towels for the pool. For downtown, the rate wasn't bad. The railroad museum, a revolutionary war battlefield, and the Savannah Visitor's Center are right there. I thought there could have been a continental breakfast in there and some clarification on how/where to park would be nice. If you don't do the $18 for valet, then you'll pay about $5 less (a day) for the city parking garage across the street ( it does depend on what part of the week it is for what you pay). There is only one choice of pillow and that's squishy.
I wish that we could've made our checkout time later than 1pm.
Good location. Lack of details. Towels are old with stains. Seems to be below Mariott standard.
We were able to walk to most places we were wanting to go and beds were very comfy! Wasn't crazy about fridge being in bathroom.
Cleanliness, pricing and breakfast included. Distance (approx 4 blocks) away from the center of Old Town Savannah.
perfect location to walk to downtown/river street. Parking.
Staff was friendly rooms are clean location was great Breakfast was not good at all poor selections Pool is very small No pay per view
Location near the City Market; daily breakfast; Housekeeping; noise level on the "quiet" side of the hotel
Nice employees, decent breakfast, walking distance to all main attractions/restaurants/bars. Construction going on right outside our room was extremely disruptive, bed could have been a little more comfortable, weak water pressure in shower.
Liked the location, the price, breakfast included
Great location. ,Great location. Maybe a little too close to the River Street bars, expect a loud crowd outside after the bars close. Considering this hotel was considerably cheaper, my expectation Maybe a little too close to the River Street bars, expect a loud crowd outside after the bars close.
Breakfast Noise during night
The hotel is in a wonderful location to explore both the River Front and the Historic District. The staff were extremely friendly and the free breakfast is great! Coffee and tea are available 24 hours, which was nice for us in February, it got quite cold at night so it was nice to come back from a long walk along the Riverfront and be able to have a decaf tea/coffee before bed to warm up. Also it is pet friendly! Next time, our dogs will definitely be coming with us. Savannah loves their pets, which was very cool to see! There isn't much I didn't like. The water pressure was not very good and there was a dent in the dry wall that needed to be fixed. But overall, the rooms were very clean, the beds for comfy, and it was a great location. Great bang for your buck!
Was in walking distance of most of the things we wanted to see & do. Parking area $15 per night
I found the location great. It was well within walking distance to many tourist attractions. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choices. Rooms were clean. It was very loud as my room faced Bay street. However I asked tge front desk staff if I could be moved and they accommodated my request the next night.
The room was charming, spacious and nice. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good and the staff excellent. If you like a hot shower...you're not getting one here. The water was warm at best. We didn't even turn on the cold side and it was still just warm. The building is old (charming) so you can hear the people above you moving around.
The beds were very comfortable, and the staff was very friendly. It was also a fantastic location.
It was a pleasant stay. I do wish the location was on the river sideof the street. We might would stay there again but we prefer to stay on the river side of the street.
Staff very friendly and helpful. The guys with the valet parking were great and very helpful about finding locations we wanted to go. K now it was the holidays, but several days concierge was not available. Front desk pitched in to help.
Pretty room, cool shower, comfy bed. I stayed here one night for business and was able to walk to a great restaurant downtown to meet my clients. After driving around downtown a few times I decided that the Hampton Inn and Staybridge Suites looked like a slightly better location. I can't really complain with only one night spent here. Actually I will say that the hotel did not mention a mandatory $25/night valet parking charge that I was hit with when I pulled up to the front door. That's annoying. Let me park my own damn car or tell me in advance.
Location Price of room, cost to park
Great staff very helpful. $2.00 for a coke kinda high valet parking great service but price to high
Upon arrival staff was great. Very friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed valet parking. Was worth the $25. Room was very comfortable and clean. Was a great distance from River St. Though I had some issues, they were miniscule compared to the location, comfort of the room, and the friendliness of the staff. Asked for the air to be on and room to be cold upon arrival. Air was not on like I requested. Room was warm. Adjisted the air to my liking then left the room to tour savannah. Did not realize until after walking River St. then comimg back to the room that the a/c was not operating properly. The shower door was broken upon arrival and had to call the front desk to have it fixed. Maintenance showed up quickly to fix the situation. Also requested a quiet room due to the fact we were travelling with a 2 yr old. My room was next to the maintenance/cleaning closet and service elevator. Due to constant flow of people coming and going next to our door it was hard to get my child rest comfortably.
It was clean, it was centrally located, the staff was nice! Nothing I enjoyed my stay very much!
The hotel and the room was beautiful. It looked as though the hotel had been through a recent renovation. Everything looked clean and new. The color scheme was very pretty; purple and gray. The room was nicely decorated, the bed, pillows and linens clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel to friends. Close to the historic district and shopping. Only negative was that it was on a busy street, but the hotel provided ear pugs and white noise machine.
The staff was incredibly friendly and the room was very clean, looks just as the picture did NA
bed was very comfortable room service was poor. food was cold, ice cream melted. bathroom very small and not multi user friendly. they are in the process of a renovation so I will take this into account.
2 Double beds in room. Problem in one bed with irritation/ bedbugs? No shoe cleaning cloth, Parking was valet only and extorionate. Bar area very poorly designed.
We liked EVERYthing about our stay. We could not have had a better time, or asked for better service. We will be back!!!
The Thunderbird was the cheapest hotel in Savannah and was perfect for me and my friend (both of us are college students on a budget). It's not in the center of the city, but it's close enough that we often walked back to pick things up or drop them off. It was clean, there were cute shampoo bottles, the staff was friendly. We'll definitely be back.
Room was clean, if sparsely furnished. Easy access to downtown and campus. Sink faucet was practically non-functional, slight trickle of water only. No toilet paper in bathroom. Sparsely furnished beyond beds and side table.
Staff was helpful, good location Frig did not work for entire stay abd staff was notified first day but they did give us a discount on room at check out.
Very friendly & helpful staff. Good coffee & Krispy Kreme doughnuts in lobby. Fun decor. Comfy beds with clean bedding. Recycling bin in room. Thin walls- could hear street & neighbors. Too bright at night- needs darkening shades. Motion sensor in bathroom loud & annoying. Had to pay $7.50 a night to park in hotel's narrow parking spaces.
As always, the Thunderbird was clean, convenient, and the perfect price. The staff was helpful, the hotel was very cool, and the convenience and cleanliness for the price is unbeatable!
The decor was awesome! The room was spotless and comfortable. We had the king suite and we just loved the room. We were so thrilled with our service that we found out the name of our maid before we left so we could leave her a nice tip. The phone did not work properly. Dialing nine was supposed to get an outside line but it never worked. You just got a busy signal when you started dialing your own number. Also the website and the folder in the room boasts a "deluxe" continental with hot food items. Three selections of krispy kreme donuts does not make a deluxe continental breakfast.
the location was awesome. the staff was excellent. some things you have to compromise on when you need to save money. this was the best value for the location and we didn't need anything super fancy. the room was "banged up". i'm guessing that's a very likely result from the many st patricks day celebrations.
Great value for the price Five minute drive to river street Extremely comfortable bedding The bathroom was comically small. Prepare yourself. I also didn't find the staff to be particularly helpful or friendly. On top of that, they were discussing work drama while we were trying to check in- highly unprofessional. I might as well have not been standing there for all the attention they gave me.
Some issues but Good Value for money; $89 a night; Nicely sized, appointed rooms with comfortable beds; decent bathrooms; clean; eager to please staff- the Housekeeping Manager cleaned our room herself when Housekeeping failed to do so. Stayed on the top floor (2d floor) and no elevators were available, so we had to drag our suitcases up an outside staircase in the heat, as it is a motel; Structurally, the room got a little warm late in the afternoon as the sun beat down on the roof, as if it wasn't insulated properly; no Continental Breakfast, even if it's advertised! The Breakfast consisted of a few Krispy Kreme Donuts. Unacceptable!
Mary the concierge was wonderful!!
Every one was very nice, helpful, and efficient Maybe new shower curtains
My girlfriend and I stayed for 3 nights in June 2016. My room was very comfortable, spacious, and clean. The staff was, for the most part, very kind and helpful. The shower in my room was somewhat tricky to use. Though, once we got it working it was fine. The wi-fi didn't work at all. It wasn't something I needed so I didn't bother to speak to a staff member to figure it out.
Pleasant atmosphere Late in day to check in. When the clock struck 4:00 magically the room was ready. Nothing before. Hard to believe.
The bathroom needed updating as well as a good cleaning. Felt like I needed to wear flip flops to even go into the bathroom. The Valet also lost our car keys for an hour and a half to finally find them in another guest's car.
Great location to everything! The lobby was beautiful. Rooms were typical for a Hilton Garden Inn.
I arrived a little after 12, They would no one at the valet to greet me nor to take my luggage, after checking into my room, roughly about an hour , I dialed room service, the front desk, and none were available when I call, I stepped out to the hallway to get ice and ice machine was broke come that evening I stepped out to pick up a friend , And it took a half hour for me to get my car for the valet was somewhere in the building doing something else, I could've paid less for better service that I received at this hotel, I am completely dissatisfied
The room was clean and the location of the room at the end of the hall, provided a quiet and restful night of sleep. The staff was friendly and eager to answer all of our questions. That the $25.00 parking PER night was not disclosed until we arrived. So the $105.00 value price for the night with the parking actually more than other hotels. The information about the hotel did indicate that parking was provided but never dreamed I would be charged a fee and then per night. Since I had already prepared for the hotel, my hands were tied. Many friends have inquired about my visit to Savanagh and where we stayed. I informed them about the my experience at the Hilton as being a great hotel but to watch out for the unknown ( parking).
the location was great, close to good restaurants and in the historic district
The location is great, right on Bay St and within walking distance of major sights. I did not see beforehand that parking is $25 per night and that there was no complementary breakfast (I believe the price was $12-15 per person). The fitness center offers only a couple cardio machines and a set of free weights with hardly any room to use them.
Friendly staff Location: right in the middle of shopping district and waterfront Valet parking only: $27/ day. Nearby parking comparably high. No free breakfast: coffee/hot drinks were available for free in the morning
They list limited free parking. What it should say is no free parking. There is a handful of paces shared by multiple buildings...the hotel has three lots that you have to pay $12 a day to valet your car. It's ridiculous. If I'm paying to stay at your hotel I shouldn't have to pay extra or worry about parking.
