We got a flat tire and they didn’t have a spare. It was a National holiday so we couldn’t get it repaired. This was greatly challenging. We had to buy train tickets to get to our destination.Reviewed May 31 2023

The rental was made, apparently within 24 hours and was canceled by Sixt at FRA Hbf. 1) Why does system give me a confirmation number when it will be get cancelled, this is very, very poor customer service. At a minimum the confirmation should include a very large, BOLD disclaimer so the customer knows his peril. 2) the woman at the desk was not apologetic at all, she was dismissive, awful. I suspect she rented my car to someone else at 500 Euros due to the shortage! Please check on your system to see if that is true. Leaves a bad taste for customer. JimReviewed May 15 2023

This was a Chinese car. This was marketed as a VW Golf or similar car. It was about as far away from it as imaginable - comfort, engine, transmission, etc. Sixt should explain or notify when Made in China cars are going to be rented. Tons of hidden cost and basic insurance doubled the cost of the car we were originally quoted $400 for the entire trip with everything they wanted to charge $1600 to my card. I wasn’t planning for that much And wasn’t able to pick up the car.Reviewed Nov 3 2022

My worst experience in rental cars in a decade. I have rented cars across many countries and continents and ironically the worst experience was in Switzerland. There was missing information in the pick up. They lied about insurance of the car in the pick up. The insurance value was a daily amount and not a single amount like they mentioned. Also they overcharged 20CHF due to a reason they could not figure out at the dropoff and couldn't repay in it! needed to write an email to complain and still waiting for the moneyReviewed Oct 5 2022

The airport rental pickup situation is chaotic and slow, and the returns, complicated by airport construction are very confusing in Zurich - surprising incompetence for the Swiss! In future, I will take the excellent train system to rent in the city Zurich or Basel, and return to the airport by train as well. Not only is this a less stressful option, but it is also a considerably less expensive one.Reviewed Aug 31 2022
