How much is a BMW car rental in Springfield?

Customer personnel were great. The interior windows were dirty and hard to see out of when we arrived in the fog. The vehicle had a few more dents and dings than on the original sheet.

Made a reservation over the phone in Texas. That was pretty easy.

Cons:

No cars were available. Why take a reservation if there are no cars available?

Cons:

Car had a bulge in the tire. Noticed it when I pulled into a gas station to clean the windshield which was bug spotted. Called and they said don't return it, call Roadside Assistance. No other cars local so they had me drive to another city. That location rented the car they told me was saved for me so I ended up in a Mitubishi Lancer - which is no Mustang.

I liked the Kia Soul, it was comfortable and fun to drive. I also liked the blue tooth calling and satellite radio which was helpful on my 4 hr drive

The car was really nice.

Cons:

The service at the pick up location was not that good. They rented me a car with an expired sticker on the plates and proceeded to tell me it must of fell off. Well that doesn't stop me from being pulled over twice and feeling embarrassed and slow my trip down. Also told me that the rental insurance that I purchased online was a scam and he could sell me his insurance for 24.99 a day. No thanks.

really a pleasant experience for me. nicole stayed over an extra 10 min for my pickup. easy access. and quick pickup and drop off. hope i find more cheap rentals at this place so that i wont have to drive to the airport location..

Cons:

I didn't like that I booked it via online for $144. Paid for the insurance option, but when I got to the place to pick up the vehicle he said he had no idea what the insurance policy was, it wasnt through them, and I had to buy a separate one. Then when I was checking my credit card statement they had changed me $407 versus my $144 total given online. We did add an additional driver and I knew that would up the cost a little but even adding the insurance at the car place my total should have been $300 max. I'll never rent a car again.

Pros:

They did't slam us with extra fees at pickup like some competitors do. Pickup was quick and easy. Staff was polite. Cars weren't too far from the terminal.

Cons:

There's wasn't a great selection of cars at this location, we ended up with a bigger vehicle than expected, but it was clean and ran well so it's not a big issue.

Pros:

The customer service rep at the Springfield, IL airport was very helpful.

Cons:

I had a hold on the account because of an issue that I was unaware of through Enterprise. I was renting this on a Sunday and the office that could have resolved this was closed. I am thankful that there was another car rental company available. It would have been helpful to have known about an issue before or as I was securing my reservation.

Cons:

I had to get a rental and be on the road at 12:30. So I scheduled the pick up for 12:00. At 12:30 the vehicle just showed up, I then had to wait for it to be inspected and cleaned. This made me late and having to hurry to catch a flight out. Was any apology or compensation offered, NO. Very surprising in a market w so many choices.

Pros:

The counter was closed when I arrived to pick up the car. I had a family emergency and needed to get home to Washington DC early band was unable to make my flight that evening. I will never rent from Alamo again.

Cons:

Everything. And when I sent them an email about it they had the audacity to wish me a happy new year. They don't even deserve 1 star.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
