The hotel charged USD 50,00 more than the price I had booked. I don't know why an offer is announced if you have to pay more when check-out. I consider that it is not a fair play because an offer sometimes is decisive when you book some hotel.
Reception staff very ordinary. Too expensive and didn't like having to pre authorise additional payment of $100 that I was told would take up to 10 days to be credited back to my card.
Good location, friendly staff and clean building Wifi should be free for hotel guests
luxury comfortable serviced apt. in the center of sydney city. walking distance to Darling Harbour and Museum and chinatown and of course the biggest shopping mall on Pitt street. Another 35 mins walking to fish market was enjoyable too. except the refrigerator was a bit noisy during the night.
Great room, with excellent view on Darling Harbour, and a spacious balcony. Very good value for money.
Clean, tidy, nice color of the furniture, sercurity card to get in lift, wonderful smell of the lobby!!! No toliet in the lobby; no patient of the reception worker when I was calling the reception for a comb.
Very nicely set up. We ended up in a two bedroom apartment (we paid for a one-bedroom) so we had plenty of space. 42nd floor. Elevators were excellent so no delays. Will stay there again (depending on price). We found it a little bit noisy (from the ground - not from adjoining apartments). Just single glazing. Not a major problem.
Convenient. I forgot my tupperware container and the staff asked me to wait for the lost and found report back to him made me wait for more than an hour. The result made me unsatisfied as I was the person who sit there wait for an hour and then still need me to go and ask them to remind that I was still waiting for their reply.
Good location and modern facilities. Homely feel
We liked its proximity to shopping and eateries in Darling Harbour
Gym and Executive floor accessorites Nothing
Staff were helpful and friendly. The pool was well-maintained. It's a really convenient location to shopping and food. Nothing really
TV in the shower! Nothing
Quality hotel. Valet parking was efficient, rooms were as advertised i.e. clean, modern with a relaxing feel air-conditioning noisy when actually trying to fall asleep
Outstanding and polite service; rooms were serviced as we indicated a desire with the appropriate "light" and excellent Executive lounge!
Hotel staff were very helpful and catered to all needs, the location is excellent for shopping & night clubs.... and the best was the Buffet Breakfast
Great location, some staffs were very nice and helpful During my last day I called for Bell to pick up my belongings but I waited 15mins and no one turn up so I end up carried them down myself.
It was my wife's 60th birthday and the little extra touches they did made the stay all the better. Great Hotel.
The courtesy of staff and its location The rooms are quite small and the drains in the showers don't work well
The spa was out of order for our last day
Good customer service. Slightly long check in time.
Free upgrade at check in to a room with a harbor view None
Great wifi, attentive concierge, great staff all around. Nothing negative to say, really.
Convenient location, clean, modern There was a significant construction project blocking the front entrance and the street in front of the hotel during our stay.
The beds need replacement. Two in my room had collapsed. The hotel engineer saidthe box spring was broken, so they offered to put us in another room. I checked and sure enough the mattress was broken there too. They moved us to a beautiful suite, but the floor in the room was too slippery for the wheels and the bed would slide out from the wall while resting, and slide away when standing. The hotel admitted that it knew it had the same problem in another room and ultimately they had to remove the frame to keep it stationary. They need to be more diligent in room inspection.
Staff very helpful No pool. No bath. Found an old shoe under the bed. Not so clean.
Centrally located, spectacular water view, balcony for fresh air which is so rare for hotels these days. The poor positioning of the shower head and shelf must be a mistake. You need to stand flush against the wall to have a shower.
Position Too far from airport,
The location at Darling Harbour-It is so easy getting to anywhere-We went to two shows one at the opera house and one at the olympic stadium--The food is varied and great. A bit surprised to find that I was charged a fee for using a Visa card, the room is very expensive as is, and then to find another $22 on top of $1400.00 for a 3 day stay I found a bit pathetic, not that the $22 is a lot, but one feel is that really necessary from a hotel of this class?
Close procimentry to Darling Harbour & Star City & Entertainment Centre & China Town & paddys Markets & Sydney Aquiriam
The only thing I liked was the availability of the outdoor pool and access to internet in the lobby. When I arrived and walked into my room, it smelled horrendous. Then walking into the bathroom their was some object of grossness in the shower. We called immediately and transfered to another room that was ok, but still had an odd odor. Then later in the evening, when coming back from dinner their was puke in 2 of the 4 elevators just sitting there. The front desk was informed, but really didnt act on it. I had to ride up to my floor with puke on the ground cause the other 2 elevators were taking too long. I spent 475 dollars for the one night.....I was extremely disappointed. Didnt even bother to try and get a refund.
Its location No
being very handy to darling harbour, central sydney
close to the city
I enjoyed the closness to the city of Sydney and the harbour side views from our room. The additional cost of the car parking. The lack of exhaust fans in the bathroom.
The hotel was in a good location with easy access to all attractions the staff were friendly and very helpful with info about the area, easy to find from the airport Could be better priced ... thought it was expensive and did not include breakfast as most other hotels in the area were cheaper and had same facilities and included breakfast
the breakfast was lovely, and it is very handy the position, the bathrooms need a fan
The location offered a good balance between access to city centre shopping and to beaches and beyond via transport hubs
I loved the extra space of having a living room to unwind in after a long day of sightseeing. The kitchen and dining table was a great option when we didn't have time for a cafe breakfast. I loved having a nespresso machine in the room with daily refills. The room was clean and modern. Service was great. The location is hard to beat. Right in the middle of tons of coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping. Darling Harbor and Chinatown are just 4-5 minute walk. Town Hall subway station is just around the corner. Two grocery stores are very close by if you want to stock up on things. The gym is great and quite extensive. There is a nice pool and sauna, although the hot tub was only like warm temperature. Overall me and my two boys ( 9 and 11) had a great time fornthe week we were in Sydney.
It was a beautiful and a lovely room and wonderful staff. I lovedmit all
The fact it was self contained with everything you would need and came with all the things i was looking in a hotel for the weekend which other's did not offer. Did not like the bed, was too soft and often too warm with two people sleeping in the bed together.
It was close proximity for shopping and where we chose to dine. We thought the views were going to be better.
The staff were nice Room wasn't as nice as the pictures on the website! The design wasn't very welcoming or comfortable, the view wasn't nice either.
Very comfortable room, great facilities and friendly helpfull staff, great location.
Location. Friendly Staff. Apartment design & View.
Easy and friendly check in. Comfortable rooms and beds. On checking out we asked if we could leave the car in their car park for a few more hours whilst we went for brunch and shopped and this was not a problem which I was very impressed with.
I enjoyed all that was offered ,I loved the view from our suite and the design and luxury of the rooms.
Very nice facilities, nice location Very high charge for internet access ($25 day). There's no need for this kind of gouge at a facility like this.
We booked online and this was our first trip to Sydney, so we didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in a great location with an easy walk to Darling Harbour, and also the Town Hall train station. The staff was friendly, and helped us get checked in early (our flight arrived at 7:00 am). Overall it was a great experience. The breakfast food was a little different than what we are used to in the States, but overall it was good and they had the option to have items cooked to order in the restaurant. We would recommend the Parkroyal.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
Close to main attractions. Staff very knowledgeable and polite. No microwave.
This hotel is conveniently located near a lot of the tourist activities in Darling Harbour. Room was in good shape.
location convenient--high quality bedding and bath
Room with Darlington Harbour view and closeness to restaurants and activities. - extra 2% charge imposed on the bill when paying by credit cart. - traffic noise in the early morning at Room on the 5th floor facing the highway.
We recently stayed at The Crowne Plaza in Sydney, Australia. We found it to be very clean and a great location for Darling Harbour. We usually ate at dining room for breakfast which served delicious fruits and a good variety of juices and pastries. The only problem we had was the rooms were cleaned slowly and we had to wait to see if ours had been cleaned yet. They said that they had been extremely busy. Otherwise it was a great place to stay!
My husband and I booked the Crowne Plaza in Darling Harbour for two nights. When we arrived after our evening flight from Tasmania the receptionist told us that they were overbooked and we don't have a room. That he proceeded to start searching for a room for us in other hotels. Eventually ( twenty-thirty minutes later) we were told that we can go to Rydges ( the night manager told us that is was a nice five star hotel and it was not!) and we had to switch hotels again next day. At least we got some taxi vouchers for all the hassle between the hotels. The night manager promised that we will be taken care of when we come back to Crowne Plaza the next day but I really did not notice anything different in the room than the any other Crowne Plaza room in any other city in any other country. The check out process was easy and seamless.
Excellent location in central business district directly across the street from Darling Harbor, but otherwise an average hotel in all respects. Rooms are clean but plain. Service is friendly. Health club is tiny, but has the basics. Price, relative to other hotels in this area is reasonable. This is a good hotel for any budget-minded traveler. It is conveniently located 3 blocks east of the Town Hall subway station which provides easy access around the city and to/from the airport.
Room and Hotel were good, however the main view was to an overpass. The hotel does not have harbor views
I was very pleased with the Park Royal Darling Harbour. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. The location is excellent, a very short walk to Darling Harbour itself harbor and a walkable distance from many of the city's attractions, including Circular Quay, the Sydney Opera House, the Botanical Gardens and the Rugby Stadium. It's also just three blocks from bus and rail transportation. The breakfast buffet was very good and based on the length of my stay, I even got free internet access. I would definitely stay there again.
Great hotel. Helpful and friendly staff. Shower room if you arrive too early for check-in. Free everything- wifi, breakfast, snacks, minibar, evening drinks. Even "shoebox" room was large enough (at least for one person). King room was great too. Shower in "shoebox" was a bit tight - lots of water on the floor afterwards. Shower in King room was fantastic.
Convience to venue where seminar was held, price compared to other motels in area, Small room, shower water ran everywhere and into main room which made floor very slippery and as there where not more towels etc to place on floor.
Large shower Room quite small, fine for me on my own but a but tight if there were two people.
Centrally located, very convenient, friendly and helpful staff, great room service food, nicely renovated. The remote controls were slow and you had to make sure u didnt turn off the TV coz then it wouldnt work, which is a waste of energy. The towels were rough.
The location was excellent The quality of the bed could have been better, somewhat difficult to sleep on
location Shower pressure to low
They let me check in as early as 7 a.m. Their rates for Internet access are high. However, the Paradiso Cafe next door has free Internet access. But then, the Paradiso Cafe apparently have a deal with the hotel obliging them to cut Internet access at night. As a client, one feels manipulated by such practices.
Location is excellent, as is the attached cafe: great coffee, freindly staff, very good value and free internet access The rooms and facilities are tired, the room smelt a little and the air con, though effective, sounded like a tractor
Easy to find. Friendly efficient staff (I only dealt with one person). Only issue was a toilet cistern that leaked all noght making an annoying gurgle. see above - the cistern
The hotel can be summed up in one word: adequate. It is a no-frill hotel with all the neccessary amenities you will need. We stayed in a standard Queen bedroom and though the room was small with no view to speak of, it was clean and tidy completed with toiletries, hairdryer, air-condition, electric kettle, a drawerful of glasses and saucers, instant tea should we want to make our own beverages and an iron & ironing board. The hotel is also located very conveniently to the shopping ammenities such as the famous QVB,TGV & Strand Arcade. We didn't have any problem finding food nearby too.The supermarket Woolworth was almost at our doorstep and there were quite a number of Italian cafes as well.I'll definitely stay there again if I visit Sydney.
rooms are spacious, clean, has a nice kitchen with good brand kitchen utensils. i have never stayed in a service apartment this modern...and i would come back... and stay here again... its not a great location...its difficult if you dont have a car....
Elevator seemed faulty, slow, stopping at floors when no-one was there and very even told us it was out of order on an unattended floor. Talking to staff on the phone was not very helpful due to language issues.
Great apartment. Excellent facilities. Friendly, helpful staff. We found it difficult to find main entrance, valet parking. It would be really helpful to provide guests with detailed directions when confirming bookings.
Convenient location, plenty to do, staff very helpful, rooms lovely and spacious, plenty of options for dining
Fantastic apartments! Fantastic Facilities!
The helpfulness of the staff
location and facilities casino didnt provide free drinks
The apartment was very roomy and comfortable, clean and well appointed. It was conveniently located.
The location, the balcony on 7th floor and the services available. Bed was comfortable too. Could do with some fresh soft furnishings in lounge area.
Hotel apartments were really nice, we had a two bedroom, and it had two big bathrooms, with a great view over the city. Also had a kitchen so you can cook if you wish, overall we loved it here!
Staff were extremely helpful and very pleasant. Hotel is in excellent shape outside and in, clean and neat. In an excellent location, as we were travelling by train, and wanting to experience Chinatown food. An allround pleasant stay, even if it was for only one night. no issue
The hotel was very nice, the staffs were very helpful. However, the location was not that close to public transport. The location was a bit far from public transport (considering travel with small child).
The friendliness of the staff at the hotel
room was very smelly, noisy rattling windows, venue needs a good clean and renovation, it is a very good location but definitely not worth the rates, elevators not working correctly which was very annoying car parking and great location
The location, the staff, the price and the size of the room was great.
love the location of Hotel and the quietness...also easy to get from Hotel to City on public transport...(as we dont bring our car with us) and the closeness to Darling Harbour etc etc- we have stayed at this Hotel when it was the Mercure Lawson and Aspen and now Aspire and will continue to stay there when we come to Sydney -as your rates are very very affordable Nothing really - as mentioned above....we love it and will return again..as we usually have a 2 day break in Sydney very often..
good budget accommodation for visitors to Sydney easy to get to transport to City,Central Station and Darling Harbour by foot Everything was quite adequate for our stay we had no complaints
Nice relaxed surroundings. Attentive staff. Comfortable room. No
A well serviced comfortable clean room, which offered all we needed for our visit. Outlook from room 322 was pleasant. Staff friendly and helpful at all times. For the cost - great value. N/A
Bathroom is well sized, well arranged, with a full wall of counter space. Bathroom supplies were reasonable. Good location for travelling on a budget. Nice bedding. Convenient balcony, useful for longer stays. No bathroom ventilation. Bathroom would be sweating after a hot shower, floors would be wet. Messages left for maintenance is taken away by housekeeping but seem to go unanswered. Noisy toilets, had to keep the bathroom door closed most of the time. Friendly staff upon approach, but does not smile at you unless you smile first.
Location, cleaness and completeness of the room the lenghty waiting time of the lift
Friendly staff and good sized apartment. Very conveniently located to both Darling Harbour and the City
The staff were efficient and friendly, the apartment was spacious and had everything I needed for my family with 2 older children. The mattress in my double bed was softer than I would have liked it although the mattresses for the single beds were decent. The pool was small and filled with highly chlorinated salty water. My children and I did not enjoy the experience!
Beautiful modern hotel in the heart of Syndey's CBD. Walking distance to Darling Harbor, Paddy's Market, QVB and lots of restaurants.
Location was convenient for our purposes to transport and the city. Room was fine and staff were friendly not ideal for business as not a specific desk for working but perhaps that was my room selection
Great size windows to capture the city & harbour. 2 bedroom apartment was very spacious.
Spacious modern apartments in the heart of downtown Sydney. Given the size, facilities and location it was reasonably priced. Can definitely recommend it and will stay there again if the price is OK. Complimentary wifi was very slow; after upgrading to the paid service it was OK by Australian standards. The lifts are also very slow and one could easily wait 5 min for a lift to show up in the morning which then stopped on every level on the way down.
The central location, most obliging staff and great facilities combine to ensure a wonderfully relaxing weekend. Fantastically friendly, helpful staff (like Asif) made our stay totally enjoyable.
The location was good and the apartment was spacious. There was considerable noise from the utility installations on the roofs of the buildings opposite our room. These were all at a lower level than our room.
The pool and sauna were very nice. The reception staff were very polite and always ready to help. Ideal location, close to everything and as such actually very well priced. The key card system used to access the hotel elevators were very poor. While noble in trying to prevent unauthorised entry onto guest floors, they seldom worked and caused a major irritation everytime you got in them. You would stand in the elevator trying to put in the card for five minutes at a time and/or often found yourself in the elevator with people having the same problem. Furthermore, there gym was not really adequate for someone who wants to use weights. There is a very old multi - gym in place and no free weights. Thus a general lack of facilities. It is amazing what hotels can call gyms (or fitness suites) these days!
very central. Tidy, functional; quite adequate for a weekend away. Good view (29th floor). Staff were helpful and friendly and the rooms were clean we were in room 140 - there is a water pump (sounded like it) that runs every 62s for approx 30s 24/7 that is quite loud at night - can be heard clearly in the bedroom. Quite annoying really
