Rent a Jaguar in Syracuse

Hertz moved offices but didn't update me (or the seven other hertz customers who went to the same old address the same day). Hertz gave away my car and then charged me more for an upgrade as my only option. Enterprise across the street from the old Hertz address was kind to give me a free ride to the new Hertz address. I'll def go Enterprise next time no matter the extra cost. Relatability matters!

Kayak stated on the website a car was available but come to find out there was no cars available for the weekend. Just need better communication with each local business.

GEORGE THE MANAGER located on Burnet Ave in Syracuse cancelled my reservation after I said I need a van to travel to Florida. He said he could get me something similar, such as an 8 passenger SUV.. I told him that this would not work because we are relocating to Florida. I said cancel the SUV and George cancelled the entire reservation. I was so pissed off that used some expletive's toward George at the end of our conversation but nevertheless he could have tried to help me right from the beginning, as a opposed to being indifferent and a care less attitude. So in the end your company lost out on a one way van rental to Naples Florida in the approximate amount of 674.00. Furthermore now that I am retired and can afford to travel, I will never do business with hertz again

Pros:

Yes I was greeted at the door for pickup and drop off, no issues, everything went smooth.

Cons:

The car wasn't cleaned well. The car mats were soaked with water. There were two pickles, yes pickles, wedged in between the seats. There was the smell of weed throughout the car. There was a weed spray in the door, called Blunteffects, left behind by the previous renter.

Pros:

Staff said they would drop me off...I was told to be there after 2:30. I was also told they were at the Watertown airport which is not the case and the Sheriff at the airport said they get numerous customers coming there for enterprise. When I got to the right place it was 3:30 because I was at the airport for 20 minutes, on hold with local office waiting for a employee to answer for 20 minutes. When I called again a girl picked up and said I was misinformed by one of the employees and the radius of drop off is 15 miles and no one could take me to Clayton.

Cons:

Staff needs to know the policies. Website needs to state the radius. Staff needs to answer the phone...I have yet to get through to the Syracuse staff to dispute the bill. I got charged 173 and The Syracuse guy gave me paper work for 139

There was a huge line at the counter, and a long wait to pick up my car. I was supposed to get a full size car but the only car they had left was a compact. Awful experience!

Staff was nice. However they helped as little as possible, but over all the experience was. Okay.

Cons:

The vehicle had a sticker on the door saying it was cleaned. A baby sock was found in the back hatch area, which should have been easily found if cleaned. The worst part was a strong odor coming from the driver side back seat. Terrible smell, I drove straight from NY to Fl. When I got home my wife told me it smelled like baby vomit or spilt formula.

Pros:

Staff members. Girl that had to downgrade me from an SUV to a full size vehicle was just doing her job.

Cons:

Don't use a debit card unless you only want a maximum of a full size car. I requested an SUV because I had to travel and the weather got pretty bad. I had to downgrade to the Maxima and the handling was terrible. I understand there's rules but my debit card has more cash on it than most credit cards. They could have done a larger deposit or something to secure the vehicle I requested. I needed the vehicle so I couldn't cancel or change things.

Cons:

Employee got snippy when I declined coverage and said he actually enjoyed it when people decline and then have an issue and their insurance rates go up.

Cons:

The chair in the back did not go down and the girl though she tried could not get it to go down and we needed it as we were transporting a dresser. They had no other van for us to take and no other person that could fix it, so my husband had to take it anyway because we had no choice. So my husband ended up fixing it when he got home.

Drop off was terrible. Persons in garage were pushy and grabbed my keys and locked the car as soon as I arrived. Asked them THREE TIMES NOT TO LOCK THE Car UNTIL I GOT MY TGHINGS OUT!!! But they did anyway and said they did not. They had the keys so it was not me who locked it. Seemed like they just wanted to grab the car and not give me time to exit Just a bums rush!!

Pros:

The price was much more affordable than Hertz's car rental for a driver under 21 years of age, although a little excessive.

Cons:

The car was parked very close to a car on the left, which made it very difficult for me to get into the car initially. The car was not clean when I first entered it. The steering wheel was oily and there were crumbs from food on the floor and under the emergency brake. The windshield wipers had some sort of sticky residue under the rubber, not allowing me to properly wipe my windshields. Visibility was low during my road trip, making driving somewhat dangerous.
