Pros:Drop off was easy. Pick up was somewhat easy. Location is great for ease of access.Cons:$600 for three days is ridiculous for a car that wasn’t even clean inside or outside and smelled like smoke.Reviewed May 30 2021

Pros:The price would have been reasonable. The convenience of another rental company being right next store with better policies. The ease of penalty free cancelation.Cons:Be more like the rest of the world and not require a copy of my insurance when its in my car 200 miles away. I had endured this once before. I got in and was ready to go only to learn I couldn't rent the car because you needed a copy of my insurance. A first in all my years of renting cars. I couldnt recall which company that was at the time of this reservation so to avoid that issue happening again. After making my reservation. I called to make sure. And was told nope. As long as your using a major credit card, which is consistent with the rest of the world, you should be fine. So, I show up only to have that contradicted. And Im told oh everyone here knows that. Well ..... apparently everyone does not. And I took my business down a few counters where they don't require that. I was also told yah if your a resident we need proof but if non resident. We don't. What? The seems backwards but hey.I have a credit card with coverage. And two auto polices that cover rentals. But other than a company offering me coverage for a fee. Ive never had to provide proof. All over the country. Last time I had to get picked up and driven across town and dig my vehicle out to get my card. And come back etc. Huge delays to my arrival plans. Ridiculous and unacceptable. You guys need to get on the same page. And get WiFi so people can use there phone or laptop to access emails to retrieve a copy if they can successfully get one emailed to them after hours.Reviewed Oct 31 2020

Pros:Great value for money. No "hidden fees".Cons:Their phone-based customer service. It takes hours, literally, for them to pick the phone at the airport location. If you select any other option, it takes you to a Thrifty's call center in the Philippines, where they cannot access your reservation (because the Anchorage airport location is a Thrifty's franchisee location).Reviewed Jul 22 2020

Pros:The staff at the counter when we arrived gave us excellent information for the road conditions and for driving in Alaska. Snow tires were offered and needed. He was very friendly and helpful!Cons:nothing - pick up and drop off was a breeze!Reviewed Feb 17 2020

Pros:The Buick SUV was very nice to drive even in the Alaska winter.Cons:The first car’s engine light was on and vibrating quite badly. Had to go back and filled out the paperwork to get another one.Reviewed Jan 22 2020

Pros:The car was in good shape and worked out well for the area and weather conditions.Cons:1) "Would you like tires with that?", when I picked up the car I'm told that the tires on the car I rented would not work in the weather conditions but if I paid extra I could get winter tires with studs. The roads were covered in packed snow and ice. There was no way you could get by without winter tires. 2) I was told "Not to fill up with gas when I returned it". The employee at the counter didn't ask my preference or give options but stated "don't fill up the car before returning it because we get a special rate of $2.50 a gallon and you would be charged almost $5 at the pump, we will fill and just charge you for what you used". That is what I was told and yet I ended up paying for a full tank, eventhoughReviewed Dec 30 2019

Pros:Not particularly. We had a reserved a vehicle at one price but because our plane was late they gave that vehicle away and then charged us 30% more for a replacement vehicle. Our original price should have been honored.Cons:The person helping us should have made more of an effort to honor the original pricing, especially since we had to drop from a sports vehicle to a mid sized SUV which is typically much less expensive.Reviewed Sep 30 2019
review fromkayak
Pros:Not much good to say about drop off. They took their time checking in my vehicle, and I was the only one there. Counter person seemed to be only interested in increasing the rental cost.Cons:I reserved a Jeep SUV through this site. When I arrived at the counter, the counter person offered a vehicle in a class below what I reserved. Upgrade cost. The person at the counter only offered three options for insurance. Cost $40 per day and up. No option to deny insurance.Reviewed Sep 27 2019

Cons:Based on the gauge, the car was not full of gas but I was expected to bring it back full. I had to pay an extra $20 in fees above what was shown on Kayak + $500 refundable deposit. Lots dings on the car that were not marked and it is very difficult to see them in a dimly-lit parking garage.Reviewed Sep 12 2019
