I booked a flight SJC to ORD. It included a layover in LAX. I had to transfer my own baggage and pay for baggage twice!

We were there an hour and a half early with no luggage to check and we missed our flight by minutes. We actually saw our plane with the doors closed. Frustrating!"

I had to drag my checking bag since you have an extra small check-in size, so my roller stayed home. Then once upstairs it's 1/2 mi through the terminal back to 1. I would have picked up a bag mover if I had any idea. Since I did check-in on line, I could have gone directly in terminal 1 if I was told. I also would have missed my flight if I hadn't come early to the airport."

He displayed exceptionally poor customer service. This was in contrast to the cabin attendants and other crew members. His demeanor was such that it may discourage me from booking with Alaska in the future. BTW, this was my first flight with AS in many years. I do fly a lot but use other carriers."

Low and behold, security said my barcode was not valid and had to run back and forth to get a new one printed. What made it worse was the check in clerk wanted to argue her point and there was only one flight attendant available and boarding closed 12min prior to departure, I was standing and waiving through the gates window trying to get all the flight attendants attention. I could have made it but missed my flight. Horrible experience!"

Cons: "I received text messages that my return flight EWR-SJC on 4/17 was delayed. About 2 hours later they said the flight was cancelled with no explanation given. I was informed that they booked me on another flight to San Diego arriving 10:30pm (what good does that do me when I need to get back to San Jose?!). I called Alaska and was on hold for 25minutes before speaking to an agent. Explained the situation and she was able to help and book me on two United flights on 4/18. I experienced a lot of aggravation on this trip. The only solace is that Alaska issued a $400 credit. That is nice but I would like to get an explanation of what happened here!"

Cons: "Curbside needs to stop chasing cash tips and do their jobs. If they focused on that tips would be easy to come by. The curbside attendant that took my bag didn’t even bother to check my id. He asked me my name and asked where my destination was. I told him Cincinnati as a layover then LaGuardia where he said that was wrong. He then proceeded to print a boarding pass that wasn’t mine and load my bag into the conveyor. Not 5 mins go by when I realize what happened I wound up having to go to special services to rectify the situation. Which ultimately consisted of me waiting another hour in LaGuardia to get my bag. Please delta have these curbside handlers actually want to do their job and stop chasing cash tips."

Virgin Australia contatcted out their flight from SJC to LAX through Delta and Delta cancelled flights becaue no-show of Pilot to operate the plan. What a Joke???? We asked them to put us through another carrier to LAX for connecting flight they refused.Very very BAD. It was a big miss for us.. never again Delta/Virgin Australia.............."

The sweet lady in front of me,, thought English was her second language, had a crew member raise his voice to her to tell her to sit down, this after 30 + minutes of her looking to and for to get someone to just get her a cup of water so she could take her medicine. I suppose she should've pushed the attendant button but with English was her second language she must not have known this procedure? I asked for a soda and once he brought me the disgustingly warm soda with cup of ice I had to hold it on my lap the whole time because my tray table was broken. Def could tell that my once-favorite airline has switched ownership. I know changes have to be made in this day and age but it was really gone downhill. I gave you a 5-star Yelp and 5 Star Trip Advisor last year and have talked you up to so many people; sure wish I could do that again. :("

Why can't you be like United. Let me check in and select my already paid for seat online and pay for my bag ahead of time! Then all I have to do is get my baggage checked at a kiosk and drop it off with a baggage agentband go through TSA and to my gate. Keep it simple stupid Suncountry."

They denied me boarding because the plane left early, even though I had checked in online earlier that day, alerted staff in person at the airport that I was on my way to the gate, and arrived at the gate BEFORE the scheduled departure time. One phone call from Sun Country staff could have kept the plane at the gate until the scheduled departure time, and I would have made my flight. This company is not keeping up with its competitors in terms of customer service and convenience, and I will not be giving them my business again."

There were tables by the gate (MSP H1) where you could sit down and charge and work on your laptop. The plane was full so they offered passengers to get their bags checked for free (and gave them priority after first class & families with infants) The person at the gate was able to change my middle seat to an isle seat. At least during the delays we were not in the plane sitting on the tarmac but in a reasonably spacious terminal."

I was inexplicably 'restricted' so I needed to speak to a supervisor in order to check-in (maybe because of the problem with online check in? They couldn't tell me why). The outbound flight was delayed two hours. There was no free food or snacks on the flight, only a cup of soft drink with ice (a third of a regular sized can), so I just chewed my ice for the remainder of the flight. There was no entertainment nor wifi on the flight. They also seem to have some unusual rules - no laptops in the seat back pocket, no alcohol unless it is purchased on board, no use of cellular devices after the door is closed (flight safe mode ok)"

Worst experience ever. My carry on was checked in and I had to carry all my electronics (laptop, etc) as if I was lost. No food. No proper AC. It was clearly stated that I have a carry on that I could bring with me and I wasn't allowed a carry on upon boarding. I flew many airlines (International and domestic airlines) and this by far is the worst experience I've had.

Had to cancel flight as it was delayed by 12 hours

My only real issue was that when I booked this flight through Kayak, I somehow booked via BudgetAir.com (though I was on your website.) Due to this, I was unable to access boarding passes coming or going via the Kayak app, or the Allegient app. Luckily I was able to print them prior to leaving home (and the resort printed them for on the way back), but using this site is definitely something I'll have to consider for my trip. I should have been able to access boarding passes electronically via the app regardless.

Cons: "It was myself, my wife, and our 18 month old son. The trip was a complete disaster. The first delay was from 12 noon to 7:30 pm because the plane was unavailable. We left the airport and returned at 6 pm for the 7:30 pm departure. The plane was "available." We checked our bags, found our way to the gate, and eventually boarded "ontime." Instead of taking off, however, we sat on board the plane at the gate for 2 hours as work was being done. The work was first called "maintenance," then "a small error code." The captain teased us by saying "folks, just a few more minutes and we should be departing." The crew nourished us with a dixie sized cups of water and Chex mix. Then finally the airline gave up and deplaned everyone. Once deplaned, it was explained to us that they couldn't clear the error code, so they couldn't use that plane. But there was another plane coming from Las Vegas to use so that we could expect a departure around 12 midnight. 12 midnight rolls around. Nothing. 12:30 am. 1 am. Finally, a plane arrives. But then the airline holds us up yet again - turns out we can't depart after all because the arriving airport shuts down at 2 am. Gee, they didn't know that before making us wait another 3 hours??? Now they're offering a refund to anybody who wants one, as well as a hotel for the night and the promise of a flight at 2:30 pm the following day. At this point, many of us are looking up alternative flights to Eugene and even Portland. A $1,000 extra for us. We're not sure whether we can trust Allegiant to have an actual plane ready to go the next day. And we're too tired at that point to even ask why the next flight would be at 2:30 pm rather than first thing in the morning. So finally we line up to get a hotel voucher and find our way to the hotel. It takes over an hour to checkin at the hotel because it's the middle of the night and 150 people just showed up to checkin. We finally get to our room at about 3:30 am. I'm amazed at how well our toddler held up sitting on an airplane for 2 hours, sitting at the airport for about 6 hours, and waiting to fall asleep all night. We eventually made it back to the airport the following afternoon and, praise the lord, made it to our destination. Allegiant - NEVER AGAIN!"

Apparently there were some other flights that left before us. If they had told us to keep our place in line and to let other people through, that wouldn't have been a problem. But, they didn't. Their own website says you should check baggage at least 2 hours before your flight and no more than 4 hours before. They took it upon themselves to change the rules on people who arrive early. Then, once they no longer had anyone else to check in, they changed their rules again and start checking in people for Cincinnati about 2.5 hours ahead of time. A little communication and brain power from the staff would have gone a long way. After all that mess, the flight was delayed leaving about 15 minutes without any updates from Allegiant either."

The lady on the aisle of my row volunteered to switch and Tyeesha' s response was a sharp, "Do you want to pay the higher price too?" When the lady next to me said she would gladly pay Tyeesha announced loudly that this discussion was between the two of them and everyone else needed to mind their own business. The lady offering to switch was really embarrassed, as was the elderly gent. Someone else was made to switch with him. They looked disgruntled too. In the air all the flight attendants were sharp and very direct. There were no please or thank you's used. Trash was collected silently and mostly with pointing. The armrest to my left had five flavors of chewed gum stuck to the side of it. My lap tray had grey and yellow sticky stuff on it and I chose to hold my food rather than let the two touch. The floors were untidy. The only reason I will ever fly Allegiant again is if I have no other options. It is 60 minutes closer to my house than SLC and I will be making the drive from now on."
