Cons: "So, this plane was a Virgin America aircraft taken over by Alaska since the merger. My fiance and I were on a red eye non-stop to Philly from LAX. That said, the plane was in terrible condition. The seat back in front of my seat was broken and hanging down on my knees, there was no opportunity for entertainment unless you brought your own plug in headphones (none on the plane to use or purchase), we purchased upgraded seats and when we checked in the night before were told they were not available and we would be in economy (still waiting for that $200 refund 7 days later), the arm rest between our seats was broken and would not stay up, the headrest of my seat was broken and there was exposed metal, and when we purchased champagne to celebrate our vacation it was warm. One other item I noticed was the woman across the aisle's seat would not sit upright. She was asked to move to another seat for both take off and landing. Not sure if this was a Virgin America crew of Alaska, but terribly disappointed iin the crews lack of care and would not fly them again across country if this is what is to be expected."

I didn’t like that the on board ordering system offers free earbuds, yet the flight attendant said they did not have any. When I boarded my return fligh, the flight attendant that was supposed to be creating us was scrolling through her phone didn’t even make eye contact. When I was getting off of the plane. That same flight attendant was sitting in a first class seat scrolling through her phone again, she did look up to thank us though. Overall the plane was nice, but the I wasn’t disappointed with the flight attendants service"

Cons: "They separated my seat with my 2 years old son, far far away. My 2 yo son got the seat in row 13 while mine was row 23. Then the front desk staff could only help to switch to row 12 and row 13. We’re still not together. That’s horrible. Then when we got on the plane, I asked people around if they don’t mind to switch their seats, but still not working well. The flight attendants didn’t help at all. Just saying, “this is the best we can do.” What did they do? They didn’t even help me to work it out. Then one of the front desk staff came onto the plane and help me out. My son and I finally sit together. But the overall experience sucks! Alaska Airlines needs to train their crew to have more emphatic to the passengers."

Cons: "We arrived at the airport 5 minutes (NO more than that) after the one hour check in time to fly international going to Mexico. We were told we had to wait in line to speak with someone to print a boarding pass. There was an extremely long line with only two employees helping. We then asked if we could get our money back being that if someone has specially helped us with our case only being 5 minutes late to check in, but they declined. We had to book an entirely different flight and still have not gotten our money back. It was very stressful and unprofessional and had someone actually helped us, we would’ve arrived at our destination at the proper time we worked so hard for. I know my boyfriend and I weren’t the only people with his problem because two other families ran into the exact same avoidable problem. It felt very unprofessional. It ruined a familys vacation and caused the poor children to cry because of the lack of accommodation. We would love our money back but not sure you guys will even do so. Very disappointing."

Cons: "I didn't make it because the flight to LAX was late and despite being told by an Avianca employee there was a later flight from LAX to PDX (at 11:45 on AlaskaAir) which I would be put on, once I arrived I was told I was on a 6 AM on Delta with no arrangement to get me a hotel or anything. I bought a separate ticket on that 11:45 flight on Alaska Air to PDX instead. Extremely unhappy with this service and will never again use it. I will also tell everyone in my social circles, in person and online, to stop using it."

Pros: "Flying Alaska airlines is always something I have a bittersweet relationship. I love almost everything that Alaska does to improve their airline. Their wifi is some of the best in the US and its very affordable. Their "picnic box" snacks are awesome and unique, better than what you will find elsewhere, they have USB and full AC outlets at every seat, and their rewards program is the best in the business. By all accounts, AlaskaAir would be my favorite airline out there. But the staff that Alaska hires is just so terrible. Everytime I fly with them, they have simply the worst staff. Pair this with some of the best features of any airline and it leaves me scratching my head on whether or not I want to fly with them or to fly with an airline like Delta which might have fewer frills, but offers much better staff to help you."

Suffice it to say, we made it and that is never a small accomplishment for which I am always genuinely grateful and appreciative to the pilots, the crew, the engineers and builders of these large metal tubes with wings that continually and mostly consistently manage to defy the laws of gravity by propelling groups of human beings across large stretches of land and over water. Why wouldn't I be happy?"

What a pain! I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to. How hard is it to put clear instructions on the screen? please and thank you!"

Pros: "Alaska Airlines continues to do it rite! To my surprise, while checking in my 60 lb bag of surfboards, I was only charged $25, not the already low price of $75 I am usually charged. This new discounted price enabled me to save $100 round trip on board charges. Unlike other airlines that charge $100 Per surfboard, Alaska Airlines has implemented a program that serves the sports enthusiasts. From surfers, golfers, hunters, fisherman, and so on. Our gear goes with us for a fantastic price. Also, the food is actually pretty tasty too & the flight attendants treat you well."

Pros: "Found the crew to be friendly and relaxed. The plane was fairly new. Overall, it went fine as long as you understood it was going to be simple offerings."
Cons: "Apparent aggressiveness to get as many carry on bags paid for by the ground staff measuring with a measuring tape all bags. I've never seen anything like it. My bag was fine. Then, when they started to take fees you had to come back and pay. It wasn't done right then. The ground staff was minimally helpful. Flight amenities or not, pay for headset and having more than 2 TV shows and 2 movies cost you an up charge even on an overseas flight. One choice for dinner.- pasta so it was vegetarian. Breakfast was a sad roll, one small piece of cheese and ham, and fruit that was that questionable. Overnight flight, pillow no blanket in Economy. Seats hard and leg room was tight. Their Economy plus and business looked a much better way to go."

Well, 2 weeks before the flight, my friend said, don’t get a rental car, I will have my car. So I cancelled and only then did I find out that once I booked it through their site I could not get a refund for the car and I could only get a voucher for use on one of their flights! And only after they take out any fees and costs that was accrued! So angry!"

Cons: "I understand that Allegiant has a pricing structure to implement, but forcing passengers to keep personal items between their feet when most of the overhead compartments were empty was just insulting and ridiculous - not to mention dangerous. In the event of extreme turbulence (or worse), all those personal items would be flying around the cabin."

Pros: "Love the ticket price, but charging $44 for a carry-on? C'mon man! Added charges that were worth it? Priority boarding: $15, Exit row seating: $25 Also be advised that all food & drink is for purchase and must be purchased with debit or credit card - absolutely no cash."

Cons: "Allegiant 468 7/27 4 1/2 hour delay on flight 569 on 7/27 and not a single person on the ground or plane even said sorry. Allegiant also failed to update the revised departure time. Allegiant posted an initial delay of 30 minunutes but then, when there was a further 2 hour delay due to a problem with the plane in Vegas Allegiant didn't update the time. (G4 568 was showing a two hour delay, with a 1010 arrival into STS but Allegiant never updated the departure time for 569 to reflect the additional two hour delay.) It wasn't until I called that it got updated and when I called I had to point out that the airplane hadn't even left Vegas and Allegiant was still showing an 8:50 departure time. It also took the reservation agent over 20 minutes to get any information about what was going on. Lastly each and every time I call I was on hold for a minimum of 20 minutes before being able to speak to a person"

After 1.5 hour wait our bags were finally offloaded onto the baggage claim by an airport employee not normally tasked with the job. Allegiant was paged over and over with no response. I will NEVER fly Allegiant again."

They charge you to print out your boarding pass. They don't even send the boarding pass through email, you have to download the app. Overall horrible customer service. When call for customer service you can't even get a human representative. I missed my flight and they didn't even have another flight to to accommodate me to get to my destination and no one at the front desk to talk to."

Even though you have to pay to check a bag, it's still a better deal than any other airline out there. People need to stop complaining about the extra fees, do you want cheap or not."

Cons: "My flight was delayed over FOUR HOURS! My flight was supposed to take off at 2:53 pm and we didn’t leave SFO until 6:39 pm! I received a text message at 9 am telling me that the flight was delayed until 4:05 pm....okay, no problem, I had not left for the airport yet, so no biggie. At 10:48 am, I received another text that the flight was delayed until 3:35 pm...still not a problem. A couple of minutes later, another text. My flight is now on time. Still no problem, because I usually add in 30 minutes in case Murphy of Murphy’s law shows up and throws a wrench into things. I get to the airport with plenty of time to spare & clear security... then get a new text notification at 2:08 saying that the flight is delayed for FOUR HOURS!!! Are you kidding me? On top of that, the customer service representatives made an announcement that there was a maintenance problem with the original airplane and a new one was enroute to take up the slack. They said this as a statement and offered no apologies or sorry for the inconvenience. They stayed at the check in desk for an hour, and then left and didn’t come bac until 20 minutes before the plane arrived at the gate. I will NEVER fly this airline again!"

His "solution" was to print out a phone number, hand it out to each of the passengers and then tell them to call because "there was nothing else he could do for us". And then he left to some back office and didn't come back out. The phone number he gave everyone was out of service. I called the regular customer service and asked them to help me rebook a new flight. They refused and said only the employees at the ticket counter could assist. The ticket counter people offered a refund over and over. But why would I want a 100 refund when I needed to book a 3-400 dollar flight to get to my destination. About eight hours, a couple of yelling matches, getting hung up on twice, and several actual tears later, I finally got a flight booked but the earliest flight they could find was 24 hours after my original scheduled arrival time. I'm writing this thirty minutes into my wait for a hotel shuttle. Long story short, I will take a greyhound or catch a cab or walk to my destination before I ever use frontier again"

Pros: "Upon check-in I was practically rushed my ticket, flight was almost 2 hours late, no apologies from crew or empathy shown for this inconvenience, hot cabin, uncomfortable seats, annoying passengers who wouldn't stop messing with their tray, monotoned flight attendant, flight attendants constantly bumping into you while you're seated... The whole trip started on a bad leg and felt like a disaster! I will never fly Frontier again and have spread the word."

They also charge for seats, as well as bags (carryon and under plane) - RIDICULOUS! I will NEVER fly Frontier again. Also very poor customer service."

Cons: "Flight from San Francisco to Las Vegas on a Friday night: - 4 hour delay - After heading to the gate to finally board our flight (~30 minutes before departure), we overhear the desk agent telling the people coming to the desk - not even by announcement over intercom! - that the gate had been moved to the INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL. - This meant that we had to run across the airport and go through security again! The agent also neglected to tell us that mobile tickets for Frontier (even on the app?!) were not accepted at the international terminal. On top of that, you would think they'd have at least one agent available at the main counters to deal with any resulting problems. Two friends who could not get in with the mobile app and had to run around to even OTHER sister airline kiosks just to find someone to print the ticket (even the touchscreen kiosks wouldn't print). We even had a friend that did get through security run to the gate to talk to the boarding agent and was VERY rudely told to just "go ask TSA how to deal with it." - By the time everyone arrived to the gate (~30 minutes PAST the projected boarding time), they announced that they would just need a little time to just clean up and turn around the airplane. We take a look aside to see that there isn't even a plane at the gate! Overall, as cheap as these seats might get, don't waste your time your time. You get what you pay for, and a headache to add."

Pros: "I found that a $16 charge to chose a seat was rediculous. I understand a baggage check but a price for a seat should be included in the price of the ticket. Otherwise what am I paying for than a seat on the plane"

Pros: "The flight was extremely delayed and airport staff did not clearly communicate late gate changes or updated boarding times. There was mass confusion and the whole experience was quite unpleasant."

Cons: "A $30 ticket ended up costing me over $200 because of all the extra charges for baggage. Never once have I been charged to take my guitar on a plane but they wanted $60 at the gate. Not to mention that I flew Frontier with my guitar for free 3 weeks before this happened. I will never fly with Frontier again. Do yourself a favor and choose an airline that is upfront about what they will charge you for."

Cons: "Beware of hidden cost- you need to pay for a 'carry-on' and seat selection (even within 24 hours of check in) Terrible crew- pilot never updated why we were on the runway and held up for 45 min after we landed. When air hostess was asked politely by one of the passengers, she rudely brushed him off and did not try to find out why. Phone service terrible- wait time over 30min with no option of call back or info about how long the wait time will be. Flight delayed for >3 hours- disorganized between landing terminal and baggage claim with no info Will never fly Frontier again unless they pay me."

Pros: "As a shorter person, I found the seats to be comfortable (my feet could sit flat on the ground). My husband, who is a foot taller than I am found the seats to be uncomfortable. The flight took off on time and we arrived earlier than expected."
Cons: "When we booked this flight through Kayak, we weren't made aware of all the extra fees. So imagine my surprise when I checked in online 24 hours before our flight. Frontier tries to get customers to pay extra for seats. Some seats have more leg room, so I can see people might be willing to pay extra for them. However other seats were not special in any way but they wanted to charge $16/seat. All clickable seat choices were extra, and no where on the page was it indicated that you did not have to actually choose a seat. I deciced to just not pick any seats and continue to the next screen to see what would happen. A pop up window comes up warning that if I don't pick seats, my party would be assigned random seats and may not be able to sit together. Wouldn't have been a problem for us and as it turns out we were assigned seats together. Then you must indicate how many carry ons and/or checked bags each person will have. I figured we'd each have 1 carry on until I saw Frontier charges $40/carry on! Decided instead to do 1 checked bag, for which they charged $35. Then on the flight, you have to pay $1.99 for any beverages besides water. Alcohol was of course more. Ridiculous to make people pay on the plane for soda or juice. If we had paid for the seats and 1 carry on/person we would have paid an additional $168 (not including inflight beverages). Just not worth it for the level of service. I will be sticking to Southwest Airlines, thank you very much!"

Cons: "Spirit is difficult to arrange the needs of passengers with emotional support animals, along with congeniality toward the passenger who hopes to travel with their animal. The passenger submitted (ahead of schedule) full legitimate documentation of medical necessity. Spirit requested an expensive letter of medical/health certification from a veterinary. It is not enough to have a letter indicating that all of the animal's health records are accurately documented and up-to-date, it is required that the veterinarian establish a "certificate of health" that only lasts for a 10 day period from the time that it is written. The cost is $100 and if you plan your visit for over a 10 day period the animal must be reevaluated and a new certificate issued for the same cost of $100. Regardless, all things considered, it has become less expensive to just pay the pet carry on fee where no health certificate is necessary. I found Spirit airlines to be less than accommodating to the needs of a traveler with emotional support requirements. Spirit no longer supplies water to passengers during the flight, so don't forget to bring your own, unless you plan to pay the distorted price of a bottle purchase...CREDIT CARDS ONLY!"

Pros: "I liked how the manager came out to speak with me because I needed to address the poor customer service of her associate. While I was on the phone with customer care, she made an executive decision to take care of my problem, and she did so with a very high sense of urgency. I really appreciate her!"
Cons: "I didn’t like how kayak printed the wrong name and birthdate for my boarding pass which cause all the problems. Then no one wanted to help me because my ticket was non transferable, they wanted me to buy a new tix. All they needed to do was fix the name printed on the ticket or something but no body wanted to do anything"

To add insult to injury the attendant at the gate told us that she “made more than one announcement and is tired of dealing with us.”"

Our flight was delayed right before take off so we had to sit on the plane without being allowed to get up. There was only about 10 mins to use the bathroom becuz they tried to squeeze in drink service to a short flight. The passengers were ancy from waiting around for so long but the flight attendants kept reprimanding passengers."

Cons: "They hid the baggage fee by excluding it from cost to book flight. I was traveling with 2 other family members and had to pay extra in order to sit together. Will never use this airlines if there are others available."

Cons: "My email confirmation for this flight did not mention that I needed to check in 45 minutes before departure. I was running slightly late, but still had enough time to check in and board if it were any other airline. When I got to the Spirit terminal, they would not let me check in, and I had to miss my flight. This is something that should have been made absolutely clear in my confirmation email."

Cons: "A friend and I were unable to check in online. Due to LA traffic we arrived 40 minutes before departure and the very rude desk jockey refused to even consider allowing us through. (Hard and fast rule: No check ins within 45 min of departure.) No seats were offered on a later flight either. The desk clerk was smug and indignant and his rudeness caused my friend (with a recent traumatic brain injury) great duress. We were extremely dismayed with Spirit Airlines and will never fly with them again. We want a refund!!!"

On our way home we bought the bigger seats because we already had our return flights. Had we not we would've gone with a different airline. This will be the last time we fly spirit. We've flown them before and I don't ever remember the seats being so small and uncomfortable."

Pros: "The staff and crew were very courteous and kind and helped ensure that everything went well."
Cons: "I didn't enjoy the fact that checked bags were 40 a piece, and that I was limited to one carry on. I booked through a third party site and it wasn't made clear to me that this was the policy. Though it is certainly my responsibility to read and understand the fine print, I've had such a pleasant experience with other airlines that I didn't think I needed to. My fault entirely, but I will not make the same mistake again. Further, I met with some friends at the airport on the same flight, and Spirit lost their expensive and irreplaceable scientific instruments. Though I imagine and hope everything will be okay and the boxes will turn up, Spirit apparently has no process for tracking bags. That isn't acceptable to me. Though the experience was overall smooth (minus paying 80 dollars unexpectedly for round trip checked bags) I will gladly and confidently choose other airlines over Spirit in the future."

I could have flown on another airline for the same cost with better service."

Cons: "The employees were very unprofessional. When I arrived to board the lady Continurd to be on her phone whilst walking up to board. It took 4mins to get off her phone and scan my ticket. The flight attendants were very rude. One flight attendant was eating pizza while going through the aisles. I could not believe how unprofessional this experoence was. I will probably never fly with with spirit nor recommend this to anyone. Lastly, They did not inform me that I had to pay for a carry on to and fro my destination. Not very happy with that either. I paid overall $138.00 and booked 2 months prior to coming to Las Vegas from lid Angeles. I could have got Soutwest airlines for cheaper. So misleading!"

Cons: "they nickel and dime you for literally EVERYTHING. you think you are saving money purchasing a cheap ticket but once you add in your suitcase and God for bid a soda or coffe while on the plane you're at double the cost of the original ticket price. I know they warn you of the small amount of space but my knees were jammed to the chair in front of me, I'm 5'8, so not like I am abnormally tall. it was just a bad enough experience all around that I would advise no one to take the airlines, especially for a long routed trip!"

Cons: "My flight was delayed from LAX to Las Vegas, ok delays happen, but at first it was a couple hours then it got up to six hours! They wouldn't cancel the flight and told everyone they had to wait until 12:30AM before we would even board. That meant we would arrive at 1:30ish in the morning! I took time off work, bought UFC tickets, was meeting friends from out of town, getting there the next day wouldn't work for me. I tried to book another flight but it was too late, customer service was a joke, they told me because the flight wasn't cancelled there was nothing they could do for me. I told them my circumstances they didn't seem to care. To make it worse they said if they did cancel the flight they could get me on another flight to Vegas in time! I asked to speak to the person making the decisions and she was very rude and told me their fight would get me there...at 1:30 am and just wait "they'll be giving everyone food vouchers at 10:30." I eventually got a refund for my flight after an having to talk to 3 people and an hour later just to get my money back for that. The kicker for me though, who's going to pay me back for the tickets and time off work? Never flying with spirit airlines again."

Cons: "My flight was delayed until 1:00 am. I didn't receive an email or a call. I missed my presentation at the mgm grand I had scheduled Saturday night. Spirit did not want to help me in any way. They basically said I can either take my full refund or wait until 1:00 am. No customer service at all. So I cancelled my entire trip this weekend. Huge disappointment!!!!!!!!"

Pros: "Getting to my destination"
Cons: "This airlines charges for everything. I called and got specifications for a free carry-on, went and purchased a bag based on the information provided and then incurs hundred dollars cost to carry the bag from one point to another. This was insane because my outbound flight was less than half full and my return was about 80% full. Additionally the width of my bag was the same as the free carry-on and there were is no issue getting it into the overhead compartment and leaving room for other people, in other words it did not reduce the amount of space available to other passengers. Additionally, in order to reserve a seat it cost me $16. The total cost of this trip on spirit exceeded The cost of flying on any full-service airline at short notice. The cost that I paid exceeded first class fair to my destination if I would have booked two weeks in advance. The planes are clean but are extremely tight and The seats do not recline. The tray tables are the size of a small tablet and the cost of any sort of drink or food is at very least six times the cost of the item at any grocery store. This airline clearly is interested in having one shot at a customer and not at acquiring customers who will do repeat business. Several of The people at my business event who also flew on this airline had a similar experience. Like myself they will never use this airline again. I fly Southwest often and I would encourage anyone I know to fly on this airline. I also fly a great deal on American which is not as nice as it was years ago but still is far nicer than many of the other airlines. Before you fly Spirit I highly recommend that you find out all of the cost that you might incur. I made the mistake of booking the airline on kayak and had no warning of the added cost. Kayak screwed up by not warning me and Spirit put the screws to me as hard as they could."

Pros: "once the vegas flight was cancelled, the supervisor was quick to book a flight to florida for me. he gathered and tagged my luggage himself and kept in touch with the flight staff in the terminal to let me know how all was going as this process was taking place. he was truly awesome and the ladies helping in the terminal that day were wonderful!"
Cons: "it would have been nice to know that the flight was going to be cancelled early. whichever plane was being used was a few hours late arriving at LAX. the vegas flight was then put off a number of times with new delayed times being posted. would have been a lot easier if it was cancelled right away and then new bookings could have been done and taken care of earlier."
