The flight crew was very friendly and the flight itself was very open. They have some pretty great package deals on food and beverages which I browsed but did not take advantage of due to already purchasing some snack items at the airport prior to boarding. All in all with my first flight using Spirit airlines, it was an overall good experience!
I paid for upgraded seats upon purchasing my tickets yet due to how open the flight was, individuals that paid much less than me were able to upgrade free of cost. Another downside was that upon arriving at our destination,we deplaned outside and entered the airport essentially from the Tarmac which can confuse many travelers as where to go upon arriving back inside the airport.
Attendant over selling alcohol to a customer.This resulted him and his G friend causing lot of noise for over 40 minutes. It's true that Airline staff has to sell, but there needs to be a limit on selling drinks.
Overall I would say way to go Spirit Airlines.
The crew on my first flight were very accommodating and friendly, but on my second flight they were NOT so friendly and everyone around me was talking about how rude and unfriendly they were. This was my first time flying on Spirit and I asked for a pillow and the response I received from the Flight Attendant was "What!....we don't have pillows"
Another reason I was unhappy was because on my connecting flight from Texas to Chicago we were delayed on the plane and NOBODY told us what the problem was and why we were not moving to the runway. After 42 minutes we were told "we are waiting for paperwork from Maintenance" that is it! Not how long they expect the wait to be or come around and offer us some drinks or snacks. The Flight Attendants DID NOT even walk the aisle....not even once! We finally took off after 75 minute delay. It was if we were on the plane alone...this is not how I would have handled the situation.
I also obtained the Spirit credit card to rack up some miles, but not I am giving it a second thought!
Going with Spirit Airlines was no problem. Great pricing, long lines to check in bag but it was organized with helpful staff and moved quickly. Boarding was smooth, take off was on time, efficient & pleasant flight attendants. No problems getting my checked bag from the carousel. Overall excellent experience with Spirit. This was my second time flying with Spirit & 1st experience was similar. My return trip will be with Spirit again. I recommend Spirit!
Boarding was easy. clean plane, crew was very friendly. I was very concerned though, when we banked left and did a complete circle in the air. An explanation from the captain would have been terrific. I made sure I was the last one to leave the plane and asked him about it when I saw him at the exit. He told me what happened but I would have liked to know while it was happening. Besides that, the coke and pretzels were divine. :)
I was in the airport over 12 hours before getting on a flight. I was on three stand by lists after I was told from the time of check in that my flight had been delayed because they were waiting on a flight crew. The flight was delayed 4 times and nothing was offered to any of the passengers. When asking for vouchers staff refused. When calling headquarters and speaking with manager I was told that I should receive a 300 dollar voucher, which I haven't. A food voucher was finally given after having to ask but when getting on plane it was announced that there would be no food on the plane. The staff was rude and did not update passengers. We were not offered other airline flights. This was a terrible experience.
