Pros: "Everything"

Pros: "Everything"
Cons: "Comfortable seats"
Pros: "Smooth flight, friendly crew, actual leg room"
Cons: "Basic seat configuration"
Pros: "Nothing, worst flight expirence I’ve ever had."
Cons: "The flight just kept getting delayed over and over with no explanation as to why. We sat there all day waiting and finally they just got another aircraft for Buffalo, New York. Oh, and nobody knows how to move with any sense of urgency or hustle whatsoever, so be prepared to wait for everything."
Pros: "Quick boarding. Crew was awesome."
Cons: "WiFi and in flight entertainment but I don’t see frontier changing that"
Pros: "It was all pretty bad."
Cons: "The baggage policy wasn’t enforced at all, so I realized I could have saved $40 and had my backpack under my seat as my personal item since most others did. They charge for seltzer water. No internet options. Male flight attendant made inappropriate jokes and the rest of the staff was rude and blunt. Will not fly this airline again."
Pros: "Super uncomfortable seats. Over an hour late"
Pros: "I like how cheap the prices are for a simple weekend trip when you only bring one bag. The woman who boarded us at the terminal was AWESOME. She clearly loves her job, and loves people around her and honestly what else is there that's more important in life than loving people. She was funny, kind, considerate and incredible at customer service. Give that girl a RAISE. We boarded at 4:49 in the morning and her energy lightened the mood for sure."
Cons: "I didn't like how even the tray tables were cheap. I also don't like if you want to choose your seat you need to pay... why is that? No other airline does that."
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "Had to pay for a small check-in."
Pros: "Frontier company needs to be more professional and respect the time they assign for ... the reception guy tell me the gate is close 45 minute from the flight time When I was 15 minute early from the time flight thats disgusting . So I changed my reservation for Friday at 6:20 pm same time . Hope they didn’t come with another excuse ."
Cons: "Frontier company needs to be more professional and respect the time they assign for ... the reception guy tell me the gate is close 45 minute from the flight time When I was 15 minute early from the time flight thats disgusting . So I changed my reservation for Friday at 6:20 pm same time . Hope they didn’t come with another excuse ."
Pros: "Non stop to Austin, TX from San Diego, CA"
Cons: "Could not pay up front for luggage on website. Luggage was more than the ticket. I need to take medications in a carry on to avoid them being stolen by baggage handlers who go through your luggage. I have never had to pay for that privilege. Was only offered items for purchase. I have a medical condition and need ice water all the time. It wasn't available."
Cons: "No reclining seats"
Pros: "Flight duration"
Cons: "The delayed plane that they wouldn't tell me why it was delayed"
Pros: "STAFF WAS FRIENDLY"
Cons: "SEATS ARE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE"
Pros: "Nothing. Literally nothing at all."
Cons: "This situation is a clear statement about the unfortunate state of affairs regarding "customer service". If anyone uses the bromide "the customer is all important", cite this example as proof positive of the lie that is that tired statement. This circumstance, was, essentially no one's fault and yet the employee reaction on behalf of Frontier airlines speaks volumes to the general attitude that the ORGANIZATION takes toward its paying customers. Due to delays on the first leg of the trip from DC to Denver, the connecting flight was missed. This is understandable on its own, as I have no expectation that a second flight would be held for me. However, the fact that Frontier, as an organization, feels ABSOLUTELY NO OBLIGATION WHATSOEVER to assisting their customers in arriving to their ultimate destination in a timely manner means they will never, EVER, get my money again. To make matters worse, the two options they DID offer, were unacceptable: 1) Offered a flight to an airport an hour away from my destination & 2) Offered a flight to my actual destination...two days later (in the airport on Tuesday; they offered to get me on a flight to my destination Thursday) AND this offer with absolutely no assistance regarding sleeping arrangements for TWO NIGHTS. In short, trip was complicated for which I do not blame Frontier. However, their complete lack of customer service to a paying customer ultimately has cost them future customers. My family travels frequently and I will certainly advise any and all persons I know NOT TO EVER TRAVEL ON FRONTIER AIRLINES! I will, however, recommend the FAR MORE CUSTOMER FRIENDLY DELTA airlines)"
Pros: "NA"
Cons: "Frontier just lost this customer for life. I'll pay a hundred dollars more to fly United. Getting socked in the face and drug out of my seat by the SS sounds more appealing than ever flying with Frontier again."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "The staff was rude, line to check in luggage was huge because they were understaffed. If you don't get your bags checked in 45 minutes before your flight, you don't get on your flight. I had already been in line for 20 minutes and when I got the the desk at 40 minutes until my fllight, she said "too bad." Great Mother's Day for me sitting in the airport for 7 hours until the next flight out. Girl was horrible and totally rude. Never again."
Pros: "Bigger plan. Not over booked"
Cons: "Price of food"
Pros: "The crew had a smile and were friendly."
Cons: "Look, it's a budget carrier. I get that. But I add a bag to my flight and my ticket is now what it would have cost to fly Southwest. I'm 6'4", and I *barely* fit into the seats. My knees touched the seat in front of me the whole flight. And the seats don't recline. To make everything just perfect, they lost my luggage on the flight home, and the lady who worked with Frontier who took all 15 (?) of us who had lost luggage over to make a claim said "this is normal for flights coming from Denver - it's a hub for Frontier, so luggage gets misplaced all the time." I'm sorry, that's not acceptable as an answer. I've never had a lost bag while flying with others, so that's what I will do from now on."
Pros: "Fast boarding. Crew is super friendly. Thats about it."
Cons: "Seats are increadebly uncomfortable. $3 for a soda, not even a bag of peanuts is offered here. No entertainmet, no movies, no wifi. Not even a magazine No tray where to put your food or ipad. no pillow, no blankets. $40 for a carry-on bag $20 to pick your own seat at checkin."
Pros: "It's cheap which is nice but beware of hidden fees"
Cons: "It's more expensive to CARRY on your luggage rather then check it!!!!! I feel like it's a sneaky way to charge you as people mostly try to carry on. They do that to AVOID extra charges. May sound petty but it really irked me. On another note, when ordering a cocktail you pay on a IPAD which asks you the percentage of gratuity you would like to leave. Grossly inappropriate as flight crew cannot except tips under FAA law."
Cons: "They charged 40 dollars just to bring a carry on suitcase onto the plane. That's crazy expensive!"
Pros: "If people read the articles when they book it states baggage pricing, several times and then again when you check in. This is a no-frills flight you chose what you need. The crew was very nice. The flight arrived early. I will fly Frontier again for the economy."
Pros: "Plane was on time and boarding was easy ."
Cons: "How unprofessional the crew was . Never heard the captain during turbulences . We took a red eye flight and the flight attendant kept waking us up to tell us to let us when the seat belt sign was on or off. Then on the way back , one of the flight was talking/ laughing so hard in the back that the whole plane could hear . And finally , we got to hear a long 5 minutes sales pitch about the new flights Spirit Airlines added . Seats don't recline ."
Cons: "We have several flight delays with no connecting flights to our destination. We were rerouted to another city, rented a rental vehicle, and then continued to our final destination."
Pros: "Smooth boarding and left on time. Good temperature on board."
Cons: "Seats do not recline, are not very padded, and no headrest. Very tight seat spacing (no legroom). I am not a very large person and my knees were hitting the seat in front of me. Only free beverage is water. No free snack. No inflight magazine. I usually fly Southwest but they didn't have a flight when I needed to go. Frontier was on par with SWA in terms of price, but far inferior in terms of onboard experience. I will not fly them again, it was quite an uncomfortable flight."
Pros: "New, clean airplane adequate, competent crew Made consistent use of aerodynamic principles"
Cons: "Frontier Airlines charges for carry-on bags, as well as checked bags. This is surprising, and over a round-trip, can add $50-100 to the airfare. The airline advertises itself as a low-price airline, but this hidden fee I find disingenuous. How can I travel without any belongings? Thus, the base ticket price is unfairly presented. Chairs do not recline No in-flight entertainment No complimentary food or drinks, prices are exorbitant ($3 for a bag of chips) Flight was delayed by an hour, then we sat for an additional hour after boarding to fix the A/C I really disliked flying on Frontier. When buying tickets I forgot about their hidden baggage charges, and was fooled into thinking their prices were competitive."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Two-way flight was booked and paid for two months in advance. The day of first flight Frontier sent email notification that return flight was, "Adjusted". Frontier made an adjustment to all its passangers without their knowledge or approval. The change was a nine (9) hour layover arriving at midnight! No full-paying customer would ever consent or pay to sit at an airport for 9 hours!! This was the only available flight Frontier had available on this travel day. Flight was canceled and reimbursed, however we're still out lots of $ in order to last minute book a one-way flight with another airline. Frontier = Worst Airline - avoid the stress and headache.. Please do NOT fly with Fronteir Airlines."
Cons: "I paid for seat selection to have 2 seats by ourselves but Frontier changed the type of plane and it changed the seats to an aisle and a middle seat, exactly what I was trying to avoid."
Cons: "The plane was downgraded cutting off 40 passengers. It least to an extremely long check in line and alot of yelling and upset customers and added alot of stress and anxiety to those of us traveling"
Pros: "The plane was comfortable. Staff was friendly"
Cons: "There were significant delays without any notification whatsoever. If I hadn't looked on the website repeatedly I would not know of the changing departure times. No apologies or explanations were given while we all waited more than two hours."
Pros: "My mother is extremely disabled and your staff did an exceptional job in all facets of travel for my mother. Unbelievable service!"
Cons: "I had a set of golf clubs with me and one of the heads of my clubs was snapped when I got home. I was disappointed because I don't know if that can be resolved or if I will have to pay to fix it."
Pros: "^"
Cons: "^"
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "I shouldn't have to choose to sit in the exit row in order to get enough legroom to fit comfortably in a flight where I'm not going to get food, peanuts, or a seat that reclines. Every leg of my trip was this way. On my way out I flew a red-eye and planned to sleep because I had business to deal with once I landed. Without legroom or being able to recline I was too uncomfortable to get any sleep. I also had to pay for carry-on AND check baggage? Is a person not supposed to bring anything with them when they fly? Lastly, if I wanted to sit anywhere comfortable or in a reclining seat I again have to pay to upgrade? This fact was unknown to me until the online check in process. Overall, I'm very dissatisfied with my experience. I have another trip next week and I already chose to pay $100 more for American Airlines instead of frontier, I will have comfort, food, wifi, won't have to pay for my baggage. This is America, we expect comfort. At least give us wifi. My experience with Frontier has made up my mind about paying more to get treated the way I deserve, not as if I was flying in a C130 Cargo plane."
Pros: "The Crew"
Cons: "Cost to buy seats and carryons is a joke the flight becomes just as expensive as the standard commercial flights on American Southwest etc, I will not fly Frontier again if I can avoid it."
Cons: "Almost missed our connection because we didn't see the email. A text would have been more appropriate as would them announcing it over the loud speaker in the airport like every other flight. No food or entertainment, uncomfortable seats and the smallest trays that could barely hold a cup."
Cons: "My luggage did not make it to Milwaukee. I checked in early in Denver. It was difficult to find the representative to let them know my luggage was lost. She filled out the documentation and assured me I would get a call later that night, assuming the luggage would arrive that night. I never got a call. I called them twice, got recordings! Let messages and they called the next day late in the morning. The luggage did arrive the previous night, but my phone number was not input into the system correctly. I looked and it was on the form correctly. Very frustrating and inconvenient. Considering you pay extra for luggage this shouldn't happen."
Pros: "Price is comfortable"
Cons: "Seats are uncomfortable"
Cons: "We were delayed 3 and a half hours because of a water leak. Shouldn't that have been checked the plane the night before since we were the first flight out? Since we were delayed, they decided to give us breakfast vouchers (very nice) but they gave it to some people then not to others. When they finally decided to give them to the rest of us, we had 30 minutes before we had to board again! We could have been doing that with the 3 whole hours we had! I won't be flying frontier again, that's for sure!"
Pros: "The crew"
Cons: "The "new" seats are uncomfortable, cramped leg room, having to "buy" your seat and no complimentary soda or small pack of nuts (or pretzels). You pay a lot of $ for not even getting any of that. :("
Cons: "The only airline I've flown that wants to charge you to select a seat and has no complimentary drink or snack. Had i known i would have brought my own. On top of that flight was delayed 4 hrs"
Pros: "How Frontier used to be"
Cons: "- Bag fees ( every other airline allows 1 carry on and 1 personal item at no extra fee) - Terrible customer service... My app said I checked in successfully online the night before my flight which was not the case when I arrived at the airport kiosk in San Diego. I was 1.5 hours early for my boarding time and ended up missing my flight due to no representatives at the counter and a 90 minute phone call with Frontier customer service. I am a frequent traveler and use Frontier for 90% of my flights. I will soon start flying with other airliners and build points with them as I am fed up with the lack of organization and care that Frontier has for its customers. I should be compensated for all the troubles I have been through with Frontier over the past few years!!"
Pros: "I used to love flying Frontier—the airline with the cute animals on the tail of the planes. Now I call them the F word in airlines. If you want to fly Frontier, I want to make sure you’re forewarned. Their slogan is “A different kind of animal.” This animal is very cunning. And slightly savage. First, if you’ve been suckered into their $59 airfares, you already know what’s waiting for you. Wait. You actually want to fly back home? Well you’ll end up paying the same price as you would most any other airline. But wait…what’s this? Actually, their rates are about $100 cheaper than normal. What they don’t tell you is, they charge $30 for you to carry on your own baggage. I always thought it was ludicrous to charge me to carry my own bag onto a plane. Keep in mind that’s one way. So it’s $60 round trip. And that’s their discounted rate if you book online. It goes way up if you’re one of the unfortunates who wait till you’re at the kiosk to settle up with the Frontier Friskers. Oh, you say you want to actually choose your seat? That’s $13 minimum. For each leg of your trip. Don’t be surprised if they figure out a way to charge you for each leg of your body. That’s for a normal seat. If you don’t cough up the $13, they’ll randomly seat you wherever they want. I wouldn’t be surprised if they counted the lavatory as a possibility. So, that’s $60 for your own carry-on luggage. And a minimum $26 if you dare to choose your own cheap seat. Hmm. That $100 savings is looking rather slim right now. Speaking of slim, that describes their seats. And they don’t recline. You’re straight upright your whole trip. And the padding is about as comfortable as a cheap mattress in a cheap motel. The best way I can describe the feeling: Say you’re on Sesame Street and your job is to sit on the capital letter ‘L” for two hours. So while spending what feels like an eternity in L, maybe you’d like something to quench your thirst. That’s $1.99. Water? $1.99. A snack? $2.99. I’m surprised they don’t charge for toilet paper. By the square. (To be fair, I just learned that a cup of water is actually free. “For today,” said the flight attendant. “That could change.”) Nice Surprise: The people who work for Frontier are generally nice. But if this is the way Frontier treats their customers, how do they treat their employees? Do they make their mechanics buy their own tools? I wrote to the company to let them know how hugely disappointed I am with their changes. I never got the courtesy of a reply. I somehow like to imagine the CEO, in the true spirit of “no frills”, answering each customer letter by himself on an Olivetti typewriter from the 1970s. But I kind of doubt it. So there you have it. To be forewarned is to be forearmed. And if you have four arms, well, you might just fit their new slogan. Frontier Airlines: A whole different way to treat people like animals."
Cons: "Frontier's low fares which are deceptive. They charge you $60 for carrying your own bag! They charge you $13 per leg for the "privilege" of choosing your seat--even the normal seats. They charge you $1.99 for basic sodas offered by most every other airline for free. And they charge you $2.99 per snack. The seat are slim, terribly uncomfortable with virtually no padding and they don't recline! They don't respond when you write them."
Pros: "The crew."
Cons: "The fact that you are charged for a drink is a bit much. Surely the price of the round trip ticket should cover a small cup of soda or coffee. And charging for a checked bag is crazy. I mean you have room allotted on these planes for baggage, & yet you charge a minimum of $30 to take a very small bag."
Pros: "The crew was very pleasant. The flight was the cheapest I found. The pilots on the round trip were very capable."
Cons: "The reason why it's so cheap is that they charge for everything. For some reason the site combined my first and middle name. I noticed when checking in and was prompted to change it. I was then showing a $400 balance even though I had already paid for my ticket months ago. I called customer service and they luckily updated it for me. The person then proceeded to tell me if I check a bag, bring a carry one, or want to choose a seat, there will be a charge. $60 just to bring a checked bag (27 lbs by the way) round trip. I opted not to spend even more money on the carry on and seat. I've seen other airlines charge for seats, but they're typically upgrades and you can choose another available seat for free. Not Frontier. If you don't want to pay the site tells you it will choose a seat for you. I don't know what the point of checking in 24 hours in advance is juat to be put in the last group no matter what. Speaking of seats, these were plastic, tiny, and uncomfortable. Speaking of uncomfortable, the plane felt like it was going to fall apart with even a hint of turbulence. Overall not great and I may have to go elsewhere for plane trips in the future. But that's up to Frontier."
Pros: "Front ones were nice."
Cons: "These 2 ladies need another job. Customer Service is NOT in their vocab"
Pros: "Easy boarding and great crew"
Cons: "NO back support in your seats - nobody seems to have it - you are not alone but I can't understand why airline seats are so concave, uncomfortable and bad for passengers spinal health"
Pros: "Good flight. No issues"
Cons: "Nothing"
Pros: "crew was fine, but plane and seats were old"
Cons: "The whole process is a little deceptive. Thought I had booked an inexpensive flight, but by the time I paid to select our seats, ($35.00 each for a decent seat, even $1.00 for 2nd to the back), paid for luggage, paid for a coke, my total cost for two of us almost doubled."
Pros: "It got me from A-B"
Cons: "This airline has gone downhill. Charging for carry on luggage and seat selection. No entertainment or Wifi. uncomfortable seats that do not recline. No complimentary ANYTHING. People will say this is the future, but the future is bleak. I will most likely not fly this airline again."
Pros: "The crew was great. We flew into some particularly bad weather and the cockpit crew did an excellent job landing the airplane. Some passengers even applauded once we were safely on the ground. The fair was - reasonable. The plane appeared to be new-ish and was pretty clean."
Cons: "A fee for EVERYTHING. I think I knew Frontier charged for everything but forgot when making my last minute reservation to see my ailing father. When it was time to check in on-line, it appeared every seat was either considered a premium seat or was not available. Middle seats and seats near the lav were considered premium. And the fee was either $20 or $35. I elected not to pay for a premium seat and took my chances that I would actually get a seat when I checked in at the counter. I believe they also charge for soda."
Cons: "Because of Spirit airlines I was not able to get on my first flight therefore I couldn’t make this flight. And they’re not taking any responsibility that there was a domino effect because of the first flight being missed."
Pros: "Staff on plane very friendly and pleasant."
Cons: "Charge for water"
Pros: "In flight crew actually made people listen to the pilot. Boarding was fast and simple."
Cons: "Plane and seats to firm and to small. A sensor went down so they decided to hand write information from the tower."
Pros: "The people I was sitting next to."
Cons: "I didn't like the fact that it for delayed, the fact that the airplane was HOT when we boarded and I absolutely hates how loud the flight attendants were. It seemed as if they were slamming things in the back. Terrible experience!"
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Everything"
Pros: "Overall very well for first flight with spirit"
Cons: "I’m 5’9 and very skinny, yet still no leg space."
Pros: "the price"
Cons: "FIRST OF ALL-so they tell you can have one "personal item" well let me tell you most airlines, consider this to be as big as a backpack or small luggage sometimes. I got to the airport and they made me buy a prepaid visa card AT the station by spirit airlines, only good at their store because I only had a little cash on me, and not enough on the card that I did have. They do not accept cash, WHICH IS CRAZY TO ME BECAUSE THAT IS LEGAL TENDER..... So I buy this thing, because they told me I had to pay for my bag since I couldn't consolidate my PURSE into my mini travel bag it would be considered two and that was the rules... so an EXTRA $50 there and $50 on my return flight.... they got me for an extra $100. WHO are the people taking no bag flights? Whatever, anyways it was a less than desirable experience. The plane smelled like a used toilet and the flight attendants were rude. They don't seem happy to be doing their job. I was going to celebrate my birthday and this made it a less than desirable experience. I'd only recommend this airline for emergency flying only. They don't even offer beverage, and it's ridic over priced. Hopefully someone will read this and reach out to me. This doesnt' reflect my experience for opinion of Kayak. Always great. But I'll never take spirit again, it is NOT worth the low fair."
Pros: "Boarding process"
Cons: "cramped seats"
Pros: "Flight was very smooth"
Cons: "Seat was very uncomfortable"
Pros: "The people I sat next to were nice and flight attendants were nice"
Cons: "Our plane was 2.5 hours late to start. The flight was uncomfortable but the company was good. However, since the first plane was late, it meant I would miss my layover & second leg of my trip. When we landed from Texas into LA (at 815pm) the flight attendants told us to speak with the check in people about our new flights. When i went up to the counter, no one was there. A guy in a yellow vest popped up and helped me look to see when my next flight was leaving. He told me that I would have to spend the night in the airport since the next flight wasnt for another 12 hours and since they dont partner with other airlines that I would have to go to Alaska if I wanted a flight home tonight. When I asked about a refund for my ticket he said maybe I would get one for the second leg of the flight. Needless to say, I'm flying home on Alaska and sticking with them until Spirit can figure out a better system. Talking to people next to me on the plane, they all had cancelled flights from Philly and had to spend the night at the airports too."
Pros: "The flight attendants were very pleasant"
Cons: "The counter to check in was a mob. 400 people in a line to drop off bags being serviced by 2 agents. What a joke People Stood in line for 2 hours just to drop bags. They had more people directing people to lines than they had serving people Once on the plane the flight crew was very nice"
Pros: "Boarding was great! We did not buy food or access entertainment so cannot rate that. Overall, our trip was smooth."
Cons: "It would not hurt to offer a cup of water. I brought a bottle with me. However, for the elderly or small children or those with medical issues, this could be a problem. Also, the plane was very cold even with the vents completely closed. After three hours of a cold draft, I developed a sore throat and I had a jacket and sweater!"
Cons: "Check-in at reservations section was terrible...there were 2 lines of passengers checking in and 1 line had 3 agents checking passengers in and the other line had 1 agent checking passengers in. We were second in line...in the wrong line with only 1 agent checking passengers in...we waited 20 minutes to get helped, because the party in front of us (with 2 in line) actually had a ticket for 6 passengers (4 of whom showed up several minutes later), who had to decide/pay for luggage options ,etc.. If you have 2 lines & 4 agents, 2 agents should be serving each line...enough for me never to fly Spirit again!"
Pros: "i am pregnant and the flight attendant was so sweet to give me a free ginger ale and continued to check on me because i was getting very sick on the plane right. great service."
Pros: "Honestly, nothing."
Cons: "Flight was supposed to leave at 830 am but didn't leave until 1130 because they didn't have enough crew for us to board. Lack of planning in your part does not make this okay. Finally board and there is trash and gum in some of the seats from the previous flight as well. Crew was very nice."
Pros: "Cheap ticket purchase price"
Cons: "I was charged for carrying on my roll on bag because of its shape. While my brother on the same flight carried on an even larger backpack. But, it was considered a personal item. Also because we did not wish to pay even more to pick our seats, we were assigned the last row on the plane where the fuselage begins to taper towards the tail of a plane. Therefore it there was not nearly enough shoulder room for my brother and me. Overall the discomfort, lackadaisical staff, and shrewd penny-pinching policies insured that I will never fly Spirit Airlines again."
Pros: "Inexpensive and easily available flights"
Cons: "THEY CHARGED ME $65 AT THE GATE FOR MY BAG THAT COMPLETELY FIT IN THEIR DEFINED DIMENSIONS! When I checked my bag at home, it was within their dimensions. When I checked it at the ticket counter it fit within their metal frame for measuring. When I got to the gate, they told me to step aside and check my bag. Without even looking at my bag, the lady at the counter told me it wouldn't fit and I had to pay extra. I told her it fit, and with an attitude, she asked me to put it in the frame to see if it fit. Suddenly, it did not. She said it didn't fit by over 2 inches. It was less than a 1/4 of an inch, and barely that. I was furious. She refused to care, refused to listen to me, and told me that it was either pay the $65 and board the plane or leave the bag there. Totally rude, and did this to SEVERAL OTHER PASSENGERS. HIGHLY DOUBT I'LL EVER FLY THIS AIRLINE AGAIN."
Cons: "i arrived airport 50 mins early and still missed the fight. Cant check in with machine, and spirit agent takes 20 mins to check in. And the security gate istooks forever, they dont even open the empty prority lane for tons waiting there. No jump even i explain i am runing late. poor attitute!"
Pros: "Helpful CSA"
Cons: "Subpar everything and big fees"
Pros: "The tickets were cheap."
Cons: "Baggage fees were expensive and seats were small with no elbow room. No free drinks and the pilots made a few crazy maneuvers on take off."
Cons: "Delay caused me to miss this flight, rented a car to drive last leg of trip, got home at 2:00AM"
Pros: "The crew was enthusiastic and pleasant despite the schedule change."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed over 6 hrs"
Pros: "The cost of the trip was very low - with all the frills removed, air travel can be relatively cheap. Plan ahead - you will not be able to use TSA Pre-Check, you will have to pay extra to carry on a bag (so buy your bag online at the airline's website before you go to the airport - this is the cheapest way to do it as they charge you more to purchase the carry-on at the check-in counter and even more if you wait until the boarding gate), and you will have to pay for all beverages including water and provide your own in-flight entertainment. If you plan ahead and know what you're getting into, flying Spirit can be a pleasant experience. The flight staff is friendly and polite."
Cons: "The seats are very close together - don't expect to have any leg room - and they do not recline. Bring a neck pillow if you have any intention of sleeping."
Cons: "They had horrible customer service. They wouldn't let us on to our flight because we were 30 minutes before our departure time. They wouldn't EVEN PRINT OUT OUR PASSES to let us try. Our entire trip was ruined. They tried to get us to pay 300$ to pay for a flight with connections. Unbelievable never flying spirit again."
Pros: "I liked the spacious seats."
Cons: "I didn't like that Spirit charged so much for checked bags as well as not offering complimentary waters/drinks on the plane. I felt short-changed."
Cons: "I am a Spirit member and I did not like that the website clearly states that if the luggage fits within the box you do not have to pay to carry it on...mine did fit, yet I had to pay $55.00 to carry on. I did not receive credit for the mileage and when I called to get that corrected I was put on hold for 25 minutes before I hung up. I think that $2.00 for a 6 oz. cup of coffee is ridiculous and to get the attention of a flight attendant was not worth the time. Bottom line, you get what you pay for. The next flight I book will be with a reputable airline that may price the flight a little higher, BUT will be upfront about luggage fees, provide incidentals and hopefully not treat me like I'm a burden."
Pros: "The cheap fare"
Cons: "Not having curbside check-in. Printing a boarding pass to join the line to speak with an agent to check-in luggage or baggage drop. The price for one piece of checked luggage on Spiritair.com went from $26 a week before the trip,$42 the day before the trip, and then $56 the day of the trip. Not to mention feeling bad for the customers who did not use the kiosk to print their boarding to passes to either have pay the $10 fee at the counter for a boarding pass or go to the Kiosk print out a boarding pass for free then to turnaround and have to rejoin the check-in line all over again if they have to do a baggage drop."
Pros: "On our flight back from Dallas, we must have been on a newer Spirit Airlines flight. There is GREAT leg room, small trays, and the person in front of you could not lean back into your lap (which I REALLY hate). It was the best coach flight I've ever been on. Thanks for the changes Spirit!"
Cons: "They charge you for EVERYTHING! Luggage, drinks, food, and soon they will be charging for oxygen. (you read it here first) jk This wasn't terrible, but it was the only thing I could think of."
Pros: "only the price"
Pros: "Your flight staff (flight attendants) are always great."
Cons: "I attempted to purchase luggage before each of my flights (departure and return) and the website would not allow it. I called the customer service number multiple times and it said they were experiencing technical difficulties. I was forced to purchase luggage allowance at the airport on both flights and was forced to pay a much larger amount that what I normally would have had to pay if the website was working. This excessive fee really makes the option of flying spirit less economical, frustrating, and really obliterates any reason to fly with your airline. Additionally, I was able to purchase seating before my flight- but on my return flight they put me in a seat that I did not pay for. The flight attendant did make a correction. Your staff at the main terminals is consistently extremely slow, unfortunately. I really like the flight attendants, they are always great. However, due to the above mentioned issues I have had recurrently, I will certainly be reluctant to purchase Spirit flights in the future"
Pros: "Well we landed in our destination so that was good"
Cons: "- gave me the wrong ticket at checkin - armed guards boarded the plane and removed a passenger - We then had to deplane and rescan - Bumpy ride and terrible seats - 100 bucks if you need to check a bag at the gate"
Pros: "The boarding was fast and easy and we left a few minutes early."
Cons: "The ticket was cheap but it didn't include your seat. To pick your seat was extra. Carry ons are more than luggage. There's no beverages or snacks, everything costs money."
Pros: "Ticket prices, Crews very Open friendly altitude."
Pros: "Yes"
Cons: "Na"
Pros: "The most memorable was the cute stretching exercise the stewardess had us do at landing. We all got a good laugh. I enjoyed my trip back home. The Captain kept us informed of things alone the way...(I haven't heard that being done in a while) I was happy that has started back up, and he got us there early. I love flying Spirit."
Cons: "How sooooo many seats have become a price to pay now to sit on the plane, and they don't even recline."
Pros: "The plane was clean and new. The boarding was very easy and having to pay for carry on bags eliminates a lot of the overhead bin hassle you get on most airlines."
Cons: "The crew was interesting. If anyone got up while the fasten seatbelt light was on they were quick to get on the speaker system or tell that person the sign was on. Our flight wasn't even rough. Also, they cram the seats in the plane but it isn't a secret. Just know to upgrade to and exit row or the big front seats if you are 5' 10" or taller. Also, if you like to sleep on the plane be sure to get a window seat."
Pros: "Price was very good on a short booking, did not realize the limitation of baggage and food would increase the true cost."
Cons: "Requested wheel chair assistance in airport, noted on boarding info that I would need help at both start and end of the flight segments but had to wait for help, you switched gates at the start of the flight and no one looked to provide help to move. No one at destination again after the flight, agaiin I had to wait for help to get to baggage claim, 100% rated disabled veteran, no spirit of help provided from the staff. I informed boarding argent I would need extra time at boarding, time between asking for disabled patrons and phase 1 boarding was 3 seconds, again no help on this issue, plane was late on the turn so it wast just get then in so we can leave the gate."
Pros: "The flight was not so bad. It is up to its value what we pay for. The small personal baggage is good enough for us to carry clothes for a week."
Cons: "Nothing in specific , everything was normal and am happy about the flight."
Pros: "The smoothest flight ever. Everybody was friendly and helpful. The boarding was fast. This airline is cheap cause they offer the bare prices. Which does not include all that. Just like life if you want more you pay more. I love spirit"
Cons: "The seat don't recline but I'm y'all and have a lot of leg room."
Cons: "First time to take Spirit. Wasn't aware of bag policy and would not have flown this flight if I had known."
Pros: "Everything except the 1 hour departure delay"
Cons: "Multiple delays for fixes while at gate then again on tarmac"
Cons: "Too small of seats. It felt like I was sitting in a baby chair."
Cons: "The gate agents in Chicagp were rude and gave us incorrect information. They were chatting with their friends instead of answering our question. Then she told us we could use a different security line. When we went over there, we were told if we were flying spirit we had to use the long one on the other side of the airport! Our flight was then delayed twice, when we asked for an update, the gate agent was again rude, though she did eventually tell there was something wrong with the floor of the plane. Once we were on the plane, we were stuck on it for another 45 minutes before we took off. Baggage claim in Chicago was also a mess. There was only one carasaul and it took about an hour to get our bags. Our ride had to circle for an hour. We will not be flying spirit again."
Pros: "The man at the counter was nice enough to upgrade my seat after seeing I was military and had to pay an insane amount for my baggage."
Cons: "I am NOT saying that the military deserves hand outs. We don't, we just do our jobs. I do however feel that the baggage fees were ridiculous. I have never flown with an airline that charges for the overhead bin.The money you "save" on a plane ticket is all added back on with the baggage fees The crew did not appear to be enjoying their flight, which during holidays can be stressful and I understand that, but this is their job. My flight to Texas was absolutely awful, I had children yelling obnoxiously behind me and even the stewardesses noticed, but they didn't say anything even after witnessing the child kicking the back of my seat repeatedly. One of the bathrooms was also out so there was a line of people down the isle. I personally did not like knowing that a bathroom was out of order because it made me wonder, what else was wrong with the plane? I will NOT ever be flying with spirit again."
Pros: "leg room"
Cons: "too much for bagging >they dont have a military discount. >they charged $110 for bagging and said they don't care if i'm military i don't get a discount RIP OFF!!!! DONT RESPECT TROOPS!!"
Pros: "I thought that the rate is paid was great cause the leg from Dallas to Phoenix is a regular route. I only usually paid about $15.00 more. But my surprise came when I was ready to board. My carry on was a regular sized back pack that weighed 9lbs , Because it was 4inches taller than the carry on sizing box I had to pay $55.00 in order to board my flight. Now keep in mind I only $69.00 dollars for the flight it self. The ticket agent was rude and threatened to charge me $100.00. I would never fly this airline ever again, and I will spread the horrible experience"
Cons: "Many people who were waiting to board other flights shared my feelings of being dooped by this airlines strategy. If you have to wait and charge people ridiculous prices at the boarded point I feel that is being dishonest. I would rather be told all of the fees upfront without surprises at the end."
Pros: "They charge me $100 at the gate, for my carry on bag wi"
Cons: "The most expensive flight, because they charge $100 at the gate for carry on bags. I will never recommend flying with them"
Pros: "The price"
Cons: "The price was low because they charge for a carry on ($55!). Would have not purchase if I would have known. Flight was delayed, room was minimal, 4 hour flight felt like 12 hours."
Pros: "cheap prices"
Cons: "paying extra for carry on, no entertainment, seats don't recline, very uncomfortable the entire flight"
Pros: "The flight crew was competent and professional. The aircraft was clean."
Cons: "Delayed 3 hours, flight crew loaned to other flights. Cancelled *due to weather" with no compensation or hotel voucher. "You can sit in a chair all night" was offered. Next day rerouted to Ft Meyers only to wait 5 hours for a connecting flight. The plane arrived 1 hour late, boarded, left gate only to return due to computer failure. 30 hour-flight ordeal and overnight at the airport were bad. Spirit gate and ticketing personnel were irritated, insensitive and rude. Also, cramped seats on Spirit are so small that normal carry-on bags won't fit under the seats. Be prepared to pay $100 at the gate for your free carry-on. They are mean-spirited about baggage. I will never fly this carrier again after mismanaged crews and aircraft caused 2 hour flight to become 30 hours. Passengers were bullied in every way imaginable."
