Due to an issue with a bag on board without the associated passenger we had to taxi back to the stand for it to be removed before we could take off. This cost us an hours delay. There was limited apologies for this, no refreshments provided during the wait and poor communication of this. During the flight the staff were inattentive and sparing with refreshments. Service generally did not live up to expected level associated with an inter-continents flight. The flight was turbulent but crew and captain seemed over cautious with it and crew had to remain seated unnecessarily at times and at the detriment of passenger service. One stewardess wouldn’t even let me finish a drink before removing it from my hand claiming we were about to land and she had to sit down because of turbulence. We were still 40 mins from landing at this point! All in all a pretty bad flight, and it’s safe to say I won’t be flying American Airlines again."

We were on a connecting flight so it was no chance of making the second leg of our flight. I used an AA discount to get a room in Charlotte but we didn’t get to the airport until almost 2am so I had called to cancel that hour before making it to Charlotte but was told I may still be charged for the room even tho at this point it was outta my control. It would be great if the airline took care of giving you shelter when you are stuck in limbo with no reason behind while you are stuck. American is a good airline but they seriously dropped the ball this trip."

When booking a flight out of the country it would be nice if Air .com could of mention that to me. We were trying to get to a cruise we had already paid for that was going out of Spain. They would not work with me at all and cx my whole booking. When I tried to talk to them on the phone the man could not speak very good English and was not making any since at all. I let him talk to the British Airlines counter manager and the manager tried to explain that he would have to rebook us that he could not. Air.com was horrible and never helped us out at all. They should not be in business . I paid them of course months ago and I was just out the 1400.00 dollars. British Airlines was amazed that they did nothing to help us out."

Cons: "The plane left 20 minutes late, and then we hit turbulence and a bit of rain close to our arrival in Charlotte. I had originally booked a flight through Miami with plenty of layover time to get a connecting flight to Dallas, but AA canceled that one and put me on a connection the following day! When I called customer service, they were helpful in regards booking and assured me there would be plenty of time to connect through Charlotte. When our plane landed 35 minutes late, there was only 15 minutes to connect, and we waited for baggage that whole time. No idea what took baggage so long, but the result is that we missed our flight. AA did put us on standby for the next one, but that meant our relative had to pick us up at midnight."

The family next to me was nice enough but they did have a toddler who was very loud and unhappy and the tantrums followed. I have been a server for 14 years and generally can brush annoyances off like this but this was by far the worst flight I have been on."

Cons: "I cancelled my flight a week before the time of departure they said that it'll cost me $99 to cancel the flight and $86.45 was supposed to be refunded. the lady told me it will take 7 to 10 business days when I called 3 days later on the 10th day I called and the gentleman told me that I don't get a refund I get a credit of the $86.45 that I can use to October 7th to use on any flight. My problem with that is I don't fly often and I had to cancel that due to my job. I feel that if I cancel a flight way in advance before the flight is being departed I should be able to get my refund back I'm sorry to say it is but I would never use this airline company again because if I knew that the first time. I wouldn't have done it. Oh I also found out because I keep getting updates from kayak of the flight that the flight was supposed to been I believe was 8:30 p.m. but due to rain it didn't leave Philadelphia Pennsylvania until around 11:45 p.m. so I'm kind of glad now I didn't go because my family member who I was going to visit would have been very upset because they had to stay up an extra 4 hours and they had to go to work the next morning."

Cons: "I am allergic to dogs and cats. This is a growing problem for me because it seems that the rules are looser and people keep a pet on their lap and service animals are increasing. There were two on board ( One not a service animal, the other one was) and I spoke to the gate agents who were mostly uninformed and unsympathetic . There is an overall lack luster with everything about FRONTIER and I get the no-frills / buy what you need concept, but there is no accommodation for people with serious allergy, and there is an increasing ability to get the certificate to have a service animal for just about any malady it seems. I respect the need for a service animal. However the passengers who have to sit in an airplane with recirculating air with dander are largely misunderstood. I asked to speak to a FRONTIER supervisor and there was no one to be seen and I got a stock answer from the gate agent in Orkando who was chewing gum so hard, it was difficult to have a conversation. Eventually I gave up my good seat to go further back from the animals who were seated up in front rows. That makes it worse when you have to pass by them to get back to your seat. And again, the gate agents were not helpful in getting me on the plane pre-boarded. Yes I take medication and sometimes I am OK and for the record, there is no truly "hypoallergic dog" for me. That is the excuse I also get. It is tough to live with when people around you do not understand . I was also recently deplaned on United airline because of this problem. I cannot stop flying it is always something now I have to worry about until I get to the gate. I do not wish it on anybody but if you had the reaction of welts itching and swelling it would be better understood as something that needed to be addressed by the airlines. Cons: "We arrived at 9:30am for our 11:55 flight, and promptly spent the next hour and a half JUST in a massive line to drop off our bag, even though we'd already checked in online. Then, after we finally got to our gate, we saw that all the other flights for Frontier were starting to get delayed or canceled, so of course we got worried about ours, but despite frequent checks with the gate agent, we were told no no no, don't worry, our flight was still going forward. It got delayed, then delayed again. Finally, it got delayed to 6:18pm, but we were told a crew was flying in from Chicago, so not to worry, we would DEFINITELY be on the plane and out of there by 6:45 at the LATEST. 6:45 comes, 6:45 goes, and no crew. The pilot has been sitting outside the gate this whole time, and we see him go up and shake his head at the gate agent. They announce: the pilot has timed out, he can't fly us anymore, even if we DO get a flight crew. But they don't cancel it! Oh no, not yet. They still have two more hours to make us miserable, why would they cancel the flight? So we sit there as they tell us they might be able to get another pilot from another flight don't worry they're going to try. Meanwhile, we can't self-cancel our flight and get a refund because they've already loaded our bags onto the empty plane without a crew, and they won't get individual bags back, so those of us with a checked bag are trapped at the airport until this awful airline finally decides to let us go. Finally, at EIGHT PM, they do announce that our flight has been officially canceled, and what are we offered in compensation? A refund, or a ticket on a (fully booked!) flight on their airline two days later. No hotel vouchers, no tickets on any other airlines. Just a refund of a ticket you bought months ago so that you can buy an astronomically expensive ticket at the last minute on another airline, or a rebooked ticket on an overbooked plane in two days that will probably be canceled, too. We took the refund, rented a car with the money, and drove overnight to get home instead. Anything was better than being anywhere near Frontier Airlines for another minute. Avoid this toxic waste dump of an airline."

Once you add in the higher baggage fee, the seat fees (no free seats), the flight is priced the same if not higher than other airlines but the real difference is in all of this is customer service. The lead flight attendant on the my flight was extremely rude and unresponsive. My mother had a wheelchair assist her to the gate for our departing flight in Orlando. This was arranged by the ticket counter. Apparently, Frontier screwed up and did not arrange for a wheelchair to meet us at the gate in Charlotte. When we mentioned this to the lead flight attendant, he said we would need to go and find one ourselves. I asked if he could call the gate and asked them to bring one so I wouldn't have to leave my elderly mother, he said, "no". I asked again and explained that I didn't want to leave my mother. This time he rolled his eyes at me and said, it wasn't his problem. Really? This is precisely the reason I will not take Frontier again. Please look into training your people better or your hiring process. Cheap flight do not address this issue."

Flight attendant carried iPad to charge a passenger if they moved to a "premium seat". Just ridiculous. There is not a premium seat on the entire plane. Passenger behind me complained that she could not even cross her legs during flight. Comfort is based on an 11 years old small child."

"This was a terrible experience as a first time spirit traveler. The flight was delayed for 5 hours and the agents did not verbally communicate with anyone regarding the delays. Last minute gate change was provided 15 minutes prior to boarding to only have us wait until 5:30 to board the flight. Somehow, we had two different seats. It was a horrible hassle to get us to sit together. They didnt have my reservation or reserved seating. My check in apparently failed and didn't show on their part that we paid and reserved our flight. If it wasn't for my wife getting frustrated and a little wild we would have missed our flight. The difference in price for the next least expensive flight more thsn made up the difference in feees ( baggage $65, carry on $65, better seat $25 but no guarantee- no free water, sift drink, or cofffe. No snacks. Everything was charge and expensive The Seats were small with no leg room and no recline option. One of the most uncomfortable rides ever. No entertainment option I guess if I was only going a short flight it’d be ok but still never a 1st chioice And remember cheap airlines means kids will be on board"

Pros: "The flight crew was polite and attended to my needs and they were actually funny."
Cons: "I did not like the limited food selections and the small portions that were served. Also, I always like it when the pilot informs you of the area of the country you are flying over. For example I recently took a flight from Las Vegas Nevada to Melbourne Florida and that pilot on Delta explained where landmarks were all along the way. That is something comforting about a pilot connecting with his crew and the people aboard the flight. So I would really like that if Spirit would include that. Additionally I do like onboard entertainment but maybe the fares would have to reflect that."

Pros: "An airport attendant, Alfonso, was wonderfully helpful and friendly. He took good care of me, as I was needing wheelchair assistance."
Cons: "When we arrived, I needed wheelchair assistance. I was picked up on the gangplank, and taken to the gate across from our arrival and LEFT THERE. No offers of help after that. I had a 3 hour layover, and finally Alfonso asked if I needed additional assistance. No one else was I interested in helping me get to food or a restroom. During the course of my layover, I heard over 6 flights have gate changes. Ours also was changed...at the time we should've been boarding. No explanation or apology for inconvenience. And again, I was LEFT THERE with no assistance. I finally flagged someone down to get a wheelchair and take me to the new gate, where I was LEFT AGAIN. I finally got up and walked to a restroom in my own (in great pain). The info for our flight remained on the screen at the old gate, with no mention of a gate change, and the new gate had NO information posted about our flight anywhere...which led to a great deal of confusion, chaos, and angry patrons. The gate change also caused us to board 30 min late. The Spirit employees were hard to find (laughing and hanging out in a closed-off area behind the desk). They were not friendly, helpful, or even understanding about the situation. I asked to be the last one on the plane (needing wheelchair assistance), and was told no, with no kindness or explanation. The flight attendants on this flight were not any better than the ines in the flight before...only w/o the funny commentary. And, another long flight with no entertainment, comfort, or friendly assistance. When we arrived at DFW, there were storms (that would've been avoided if we had left Orlando in time) that kept us in a holding pattern for an hour and a half ON TOP of a two and a half hour flight. The flight attendants used this time as a way to make MORE money for the airline by charging money for any food/drinks during this time...even water. We were on that cramped plane for 5 HOURS and were still having to pay for water. This was one of my WORST airline experiences in over 40 years of flying."

Pros: "Staff gave me a refund for return flight& baggage fee"
Cons: "I was supposed to depart at 10 pm. Flight was delayed twice via email & again once I arrived at the airport to 1:40 am. Around 1 am, the flight was cancelled. There was almost an angry & very immature mob at the gate desk for flight rebooking or refunds. There were few flights for the following evening, which sold out quickly; then rebooking were for the day after that. They did not offer to cover any hotel arrangements. The staff handled it pretty well, but it made my wait to get a refund even longer. I had to find a rental car to drive overnight from Orlando to Atlanta. I finally got home at 10:30 am."

Pros: "Courteous, smiling flight crew--professionals--were aboard the plane, well-versed in their jobs and prepared for every eventuality."
Cons: "It was not Spirit's fault that the flight was delayed for two hours--that was due to weather--but there were no updates and when the clerk got on the intercom she was very soft-spoken and hard to hear. In order to effective deal with flight delays, one needs to have consistent updates, so that one can inform friends and family and arrange for rides from the airport that don't have to wait forever for the palne's arrival. It is difficult to be over six feel with long legs; leg room is nonexistent,, and non-reclining sits are difficult. Although I would never pretend that this was at all the fault of anyone at the airline. I was seated next to a woman who was very large--at least 400#, and quite broad-shouldered--and she took up half my seat. My back still aches, I couldn't lean back or straighten out or get comfortable in my seat because of her size. It made for a painful, difficult flight."

Cons: "Will never fly Spirit airlines again. First flight was cancelled, return flight was delayed by almost 2 hours. I waited at the ticketing desk for 3+ hours (while on hold with customer service on my cell phone). Never had my call answered and also did not ever get to the counter for my refund. HORRIBLE experience, worst customer service ever. A total inconvenience, I had to rearrange all my travel plans, incurring many additional expenses and also book a different outgoing flight at a higher cost in order to get to my destination. Also, the flight seems cheaper but then they gouge you by charging for your seat and also for your carry on. Not any cheaper in the end. NEVER AGAIN."

Cons: "The staff was not happy you could tell they did not want to be there they were very disengaged. This was the second time my flight to Puerto Rico had been canceled. And then it was canceled while I was in Puerto Rico without notice . There was nobody at the airport no one answering the phone's nobody to talk to nobody to resolve issues . I waited on line for customer care/reservations for over four hours and I have proof . That is unacceptable for any business economy or midscale . And then you're only offered $50 when you had to pay for another ticket pay for another night in a hotel in extra day in a rental you're out over $500 and they give you 50 ."

Pros: "Nothing. We were treated like Idiots."
Cons: "They wanted to charge for everything we had, including the purse that my companion was carrying. I found out later that our backpacks and purse were under their posted "Guidelines." When she told us that the baggage fees would be almost $400 for the two of us, I said "You are insane." and we rented a car and drove 15 hours instead... with car rental and gas and hotel, we still spent less than the baggage fees! When I called Spirit to complain. I was told that the gate agent was trying to overcharge us, but that there was nothing that could be done. They would not refund the cost of the tickets (Only $144) or offer any travel credit. I will never use Spirit Air"

Pros: "Crew was very nice."
Cons: "Ridiculous charges for everything you get on other carriers for free: printing boarding pass, choosing a seat,water, carry on bag allowance. Additionally seats are extremely small(and I am not a big person), no inflight entertainment available at all, no option for an electronic boarding pass and additionally the flight was delayed. With what I paid for the flight itself, the charge for 1 carry-on bag and the fee for selecting a seat at the time of booking, my total cost was more than what I would have paid on Delta or American. Will not be a repeat customer of Spirit."

Pros: "Comfort, clean seats"
Cons: "Fare cheap but all the 'musts'made it more than any other airline: $9 Online fee; $25 kiosk fee (which didn't work and had to pay $50 fee to check in with clerk; had to check bag approved for under seat/carry on (12"c12") and since kiosk didn't work, charged $60 for 1st bag, even though I paid $60 for a 'first checked bag' and 2nd bag should hAve been cheaper. It was TSA agent who told me I would be required to check the bag by Spirit as it didn't meet carry on criteria and if I didn't check now, would be $100 at gate. I told her that I was traveling back with same TSA approved (and Spirit online rules) and she became rude and rejected my bag (and did a complete body search) so, I was forced to check the bag or miss my flight. I asked her and the Spirit clerk (3) if this was a TSA/ Spirit racket with kickbacks for TSA and/or Spirit and NOT on of them laughed, smiled, or denied this question. Mever again will I fly Spirit airlines or recommend to anyone!"

Cons: "On arrival at the airport, help was needed to get the boarding pass but there was no one at the ticket counter to help. For that reason, Joe missed the flight. When the representative did get to the counter, she was of no help in helping him get to his destination. He was marked as a "No Show" and his reservation was cancelled. Joe was told his return flight was confirmed. He was able to make arrangements with another airline after spending another $300 to get to Orlando. However, when he confirmed his flight home, he was told it was canceled because he "no showed!" He talked with people in Orlando and I called the phone number on the email received from Spirit after he missed the flight. I spoke with 3 different people who only wanted to tell me their policy. I needed help in getting Joe back to Akron, Oh. They could only tell me that we would have to make a new reservation and pay even more money for him to get home. They did not honor the money that had already been paid to them. They did not help us at all. They could only quote their policy, which was a moot point by that time!!!"

Cons: "We were over 1 hour late getting to Orlando as there was a passenger who was on the plane in stand by . Spirit overbooked the flight and they down 45 minutes trying to resolve the issue. I was suppose to get to Orlando at 10:30 . I got to Orlando at 12;30 . I had to be up and ready at 6:00 . It took me 45 minutes to get a ride. This past Thursday I was suppose to fly spirit to New Orleans . The security people search me for around 40 minutes . The plane was still at the tarmac however the spirt person had closed the ramp and would not let me on the plane . The plane set there for additional 25 minutes . I drove to New Orleans for 7 hours for a meeting. I will never , ever fly spirit again ."

Cons: "Getting our boarding pass to print was a nightmare. I kept getting password invalid. I was told I would be sent an e-mail to reset my password. NOT! made that request 6 times before I waited 30 minutes to get a rep on the phone. Was told I had to sign up to be a Free Spirit Member to get my boarding pass. No where does it say that that is what you had to do . The rep asked if I had booked through them? I told I booked through Kayak and he gave me attitude. Kind of huffed and I thought he mumbled "you get what you pay for" So I signed up and got our boarding pass. Coming back AGAIN we couldn't get our boarding pass. The rep at Cabana Bay got a Spirit rep on the phone I told her I was a Free Spirit Member and I gave her my member # and she me told I didn't exist in the system, but she would send me an e-mail to change my password Of course that didn't come through. I put Sara, from the front desk, back on the phone and between her and the rep we got our boarding pass. We started our vacation upset and aggregated. Ended it the same way."

Cons: "The alert was finally sent to us well past the time we would have been going through security. Luckily, we had checked on our own through a third party app,. No alternative flights were available, so we had to book on another airline and cancel the Spirit tickets. The credit policy is draconian. We may not be able to meet the redemption requirements and will probably lose the entire value. The process created so much frustration and wasted so much time. The low-ish price is simply not worth it."

Pros: "Flight on time."
Cons: "Flight attendant was so mean. I did not get a chance to ask who she is or her name was at that time . I was traveling with my family including my mother who is almost 80 years old and was seated farther away from me. I stood up to check on her as she was having shortness of breath when we boarded. I stood up 15 minutes after we took off although the seat belt sign was on to check on my mother, I knew I need to stay at my seat but I have to check on my mother. flight attendant was at the aisle getting food orders and was very rude told me to go back to my seat. It could have been better if she asked what's going on and why I need to stand . That's not my expectation of a flight attendant as she should be there to assist and provide support if needed. But she was very rude and directed me back to my seat without asking the reason of my action/ behavior but instead very rudely telling me to go back to my chair. She could have asked me if I need help. I believed she is also the flight attendant who was using the overhead mic to give instructions to the passengers. She is not fit to where she is at. I believed that there still a lot of people that were very disappointed at her . I hope nobody dies in the plane where she is at as her act of negligence,rudeness , discourteous is not acceptable."

Pros: "didn't die in a plane crash"
Cons: "Flights both ways delayed more than 2 hours both ways WITHOUT notification, compensation, or explanation, even when queried. I was forced to reschedule my car rental for twice the price due to tardiness. "Randomly selected" our flight to be security checked FOR A SECOND TIME AT THE GATE, and then my girlfriend was innappropriately molested for some reason by a tsa agent. I fly all the time and this was the first time this has ever happened. No service, still very expensive, dirty seats. I will NEVER be flying spirit again."

Pros: "Made it home in one piece"
Cons: "Only one suitcase, otherwise had to pay $52 for anything extra. Some passengers had more than one case/bag without charge. The staff acted like they did not enjoy their professions. Charging for snacks seemed outrageous & asinine. The flight was very rough and at some points very frightening. Dropped down more than once with my stomach having a pit. The passengers clapped their hands when we landed as if it wasn't safe. Not happy, extremely disappointed. The fight to Florida from Detroit was awesome & pleasantly surprised. I probably wouldn't recommend Spirit to friends or family."
