Pros: "I got to destination. Baggage claim was quick."
Cons: "Flight was delayed due to waiting for a tardy flight attendant. Landing felt a little hard. No announcement about baggage carousel prior to disembarking."
Cons: "I could not check in on the kiosk and I had to go to two agents before they could find my reservation. The lines were extremely long and the customer service was poor."
Cons: "It was delayed by 4 hours"
Pros: "Delta has always be a step above the rest. Traveling with my children is not a problem and frowned upon with Delta. I rarely choose competitive airlines and will continue to use Delta as much as possible."
Cons: "sitting on the runway for over 3 hours without any water, snacks, or even video entertainment screens or outlets to charge phones"
Pros: "Everything especially the snacks and in flight entertainment."
Cons: "Super delayed. Sat on runway for 2.5 hours"
Pros: "Departing on time and clean"
Cons: "There was no screens, all the other airlines have screens, but that wasn't my problem and I got coloring book and crayons for me daughter, so she can play with them, but my issue was that when they gave snack to everyone and I didn't get anything and then I told the other flight attendant that I didn't get my snack and still she didn't get it, she said she was going to get it and didn't come back :(( I was really disappointed with that, they r old and forget things, so our line 19 nobody got anything .. i like delta was I wasn't happy this time with it"
Cons: "Due to weather patterns, we sat on the runway for 3 hours waiting to take off. There was approx. 50+ planes ahead of us. I know this because I was sitting next to an off-duty pilot on his way home. About 2 hours in, there was 30 planes left to take off, and then us. They air traffic control people were only letting off one plane per minute which is what was holding us. THEN after the 3 hours on the runway, our crew timed out and the brought us back to gate saying we were not taking off. At the gate, they informed us the flight was not 'cancelled' but 'delayed' to the following morning. I/m not sure how a 16 hour difference is considered 'delayed', but I digress. All Delta reps had NO idea the time of the new flight the following morning and told us all to just 'keep checking the app'. Now, fortunately for me I live in Brooklyn and could just go home. But what about everyone who was at LGA as a layover? I heard from multiple passengers they had to spend the night in a hotel, that Delta did not pay for. We finally got notice the new flight was scheduled for 9:30AM, which they AGAIN delayed until 11:30AM. Many people did not get the second change, and were already at LGA for the 9:30AM flight. To say Delta's handling of this was poor is an understatement. We knew when we got on that plane the crew was going to time out. Again, I was sitting next to an off-duty pilot who told me to 'get comfy, we're gonna be here awhile' the minute I sat down. Delta should have given us a fresh crew, or had a backup one prepared. I understand the weather is out of there control, and I understand you can't have a tired crew piloting an airplane, but there are other ways to have us take off remotely on schedule."
Pros: "For a short-haul flight on a small CRJ, it was the most pleasing and comfortable flight. No delays and everyone was pleasant from ground staff to flight crew."
Pros: "Wheeler chair service is available"
Cons: "Gate changed in the last minute and non-English speaking wheeler chair customer (my 89 years old mother) was left at the old gate by their wheeler chair services and no agent at the gate knew about her. Both round trip flights! This is totally NOT acceptable. She could have been lost and with no ability to help herself and miss the flights. It was lucky that she found Chinese speaking customers to help her."
Cons: "Delta doesn't manage their flight schedules and personnel with backup or standby crew in order to assist whenever there are delays across domestic flights. The plane was late to arrive at the gate and we were also told that while the pilot was ready to take off, we couldn't leave because we were waiting for a flight attendant to land from Pittsburgh (we were in La Guardia airport in NYC). delta would rather I convenience the flyer instead of hiring more personnel or figuring out standby or backup plans for delayed flights."
Pros: "Flight attendant had nice attitude."
Cons: "I asked for an aisle seat to provide relief to my right leg. I was given an aisle on my left. This was compounded by sitting next to a man so large that part of my space was taken, and this was Delta Comfort. Had I been given the requested seat, I would not have the sore neck and back I now have from leaning for 2 hours."
Pros: "Comfortable aircraft with tv in the seats"
Cons: "Huge delay on my flight and most other flights from LaGuardia that day, lack of information on reasons for the delays ."
Pros: "The gate agents and flight attendants were nice."
Cons: "We were not able to choose our seats until we got to the airport. Which was a waste of time since we did online check in but still needed to go to the self check for seat assignment. Then by that time it was too late to try to get a seat with my wife who is very afraid to fly. Overall not a good experience"
Cons: "Because we were diverted to JFK for "Weather" even though LaGuardia is only 9.6 miles away, and it was 11:30pm by the time we landed. The only flight to Manchester was the next night and would have gotten us to Manchester by 6pm. I had to rent a car at midnight and drive the four hours to be able to attend the reunion I was flying up for."
Pros: "delays for a long time to get to the gate than delays for more than 2 hours for a crew to come in..."
Pros: "New Plane - super roomy great selections of movies to watch for free on the TV!"
Cons: "We we missed our connection they wouldn't help us at all."
Cons: "long wait and delayed flight"
Pros: "Nothing in particular"
Cons: "So I originally had the free seat 11A. The app offered me what looked like a bulkhead from the seat map on the app at seat 10A for additional $19. I feel for it. No bulkhead, no extra room, nothing, waste of $19"
Pros: "Flight and service were fine. Because there was a long delay, the ticket agents supplied free sandwiches, drinks, salads, and coloring books and tried to engage the waiting passengers with games. I won a $50 Delta gift certificate! The captain had good communication with the passengers to keep us informed."
Cons: "Flight was delayed 4 1/2 hours because no crew was available."
Pros: "Pleasant staff on board, great pilot for getting us through some horrific turbulence."
Cons: "Delayed 2 hours. Worst turbulence of my life. Long time flyer but never experienced anything like that."
Pros: "Turbulence didn't allow the beverage cart to serve passengers"
Cons: "Our flight was originally scheduled for departure at 7:45 PM. We got an alert stating that the flight was going to be delayed but we were already almost to the airport when I received the first message on my smartphone. We received three additional alerts making our total wait time at the airport 5½ hours before we could approach the gate and board the aircraft. Seating in immediate gate area was not comfortable. Boarding was chaotic at best with very little control and guidance provided by Delta staff. The audio over the PA system was difficult to decipher much of the time. The only other available boarding status information was presented on the screens stationed near the gate and indicated PREMIUM the entire time during our boarding process and was never updated. We literally had to scramble through the crowd to get to the gate desk and get our boarding passes validated so we could board our flight with our group of passengers. Our seating on board the aircraft was thankfully good which is why I rated Comfort as Okay. We were saddled with one more delay after the flight left the gate and taxied briefly down the runway and then sat there for almost an hour. My suggestions to improve customer satisfaction based on my experience would include the following 1. Provide extended alerts for passengers travelling especially if the anticipated delay is known to the airline more than 2 hours before scheduled flight time. 2. Improve seating in the waiting areas near all Delta gates. 3. Re-orient all staff in proper boarding process and utilizing all available resources properly to provide clear and intelligible (not speeding) overhead audio messaging and current boarding status prompts on displays. 4. Maintain or replace audio equipment if necessary to help improve quality of audio messaging in all boarding areas."
Pros: "Smooth flight and always a plus to see a beautiful smile throughout the trip from our Flight Attendant Stefany!"
Pros: "Seats were reasonably comfortable."
Cons: "Boarding process was ok (they bused us over to the plane and then had us walking out halfway to the plane's stairs before frantically sending us back on the bus because the plane wasn't cleaned yet). Not a big deal but we were traveling with a 10 month old so miscommunications like that cause a larger inconvenience than usual. The real downer on the flight was when we needed hot water quickly to warm our infant's bottle. The stewardess had begun beverage service and was about 8 rows away from us. My wife hit the call button, expecting the stewardness to come over somewhat quickly. Instead, she just continued beverage service and got to us about 15 mins later. By that point it was too late and the baby was wailing from hunger. When we asked why, knowing that we had a small child, the stewardness didn't just push the cart forward and attend to us more quickly, she said she didn't want to do that. No apology, not even a sense of remorse. At the end of the day, a customer's experience will always be tainted by poor service and that is what we received on our flight."
Pros: "One male attendant from the first class cabin - super sweet and attentive to our needs even tho we're not seating in the premium cabin"
Cons: "Junior attendants in economy comfort seat - so lazy and whiny!"
Pros: "Got on earlier flight as standby."
Pros: "Was a nice flay , thanks"
Pros: "Even though we couldn't reserve our seats we where able to call and change our seats to be together. (Mom dad and 2 toddlers)"
Cons: "Out of all the airlines I have flown, this was quite disorganized in my opinion. The fact that I was not able to select a seat, nor did I have one assigned to me until prior to an hour before boarding, gave me a bit of anxiety. I don't think it's fair to take away this option to those that get the "cheap, standard" tickets."
Pros: "Plane left 2 hours late."
Pros: "From curbside check-in to landing the plane, overall excellent service ! Very pleased to find out they offered a shuttle from checkin to the gate. I am having knee surgery soon and the walk from security to gate 34 LaGuardia would have put me over the top with pain! It was a very nice gentleman that gave me a ride to the gate and even stopped to let me use the bathroom. Thumbs up *****"
Cons: "The fact that I was charged $150 to check a small cosmetics bag is no loose change ! I would have carried it on but my hand is in a brace and I has to have extensive surgery. Then yoy get to the gate, and they repeatedly asked for volunteers to check their bags for free. I think this is a very unfair policy and try to explain it to the curbside attendant. I literally cannot carry more than five pounds in my left hand until I get bone replacement surgery. I'm also having knee surgery soon and this small additional weight would be caused me excruciating pain ! They didn't care and still charged me $150 for a bag thats no bigger than 12 inches and weighs less than ten pounds. Thats the way you treat your first class passengers? One other quick note: the sausage and egg sandwich? that was served for breakfast was absolutely horrible! Thumbs down !"
Pros: "Orderly boarding process."
Cons: "Overweight people being seated int he middle seat and sticking their elbows over both arm rests while comfortably sleeping."
Pros: "Crew remained positive and apologetic for the long delay."
Cons: "Lack of notice that there was no Pilot, maybe let people know so we can be less stressed about leaving as well as arriving on time when others depend on you to."
Pros: "The flight attendants made the safety briefing extremely lively and personal, a wonderful break from the normal tedious process. The rest of the flight was quiet, uneventful, and pleasant in part due to their good nature. I cannot have gluten or soy, and I was brought a complimentary bag of potato chips that were gluten free - the one and only time this has happened! I hope to fly with this crew again someday."
Pros: "The pilot got us to Toronto."
Cons: "Everything. Contrary to most of my experiences with WestJet over the past nineteen years, this was the worst, overall, trip I have ever had with them, from delays, to missing my connecting flight, to gross incompetence with the staff, to a failure to even empathize with our situation (with a baby!)."
Cons: "due to weather a pile of flights were cancelled, we had to call West Jet and get re-routed"
Pros: "The crew were nice."
Cons: "The flight was very delayed due to weather, which is fine. However, more information would have been really nice."
Pros: "The flight crew were nice and efficient and the aircraft was clean. The food selection was not bad: more vegetarian options would be nice. The flight itself was smooth and I felt safe."
Cons: "Our flight from New York to Toronto was 45 minutes late. It was due in part to unbelievably poor organization: we couldn’t hear the person telling us which section was boarding, there was no clear line up and only one person slowly checking our boarding passes. Almost late for connecting flight."
Cons: "Flight was delayed two hours and not handled well by the airport staff. Boarding was a mess and disorganized. We were not kept informed of the reasons for delay."
Pros: "Entertainment system was easy to use"
Cons: "Boarding was chaotic, jammed, not that friendly."
Pros: "Super fast. All on time."
Cons: "I didn't like in a middle seat and being told that in order to move to an aisle seat I would have to pay $13.50. Normally with Westjet it was always free to change seats at Check in. It's frustrating when things change and you only find out at the time of check in rather than at time of booking."
Pros: "I fly frequently and this is the first time I've travelled with West Jet. The big difference was the staff. Unlikely many airlines the West Jet crew - in flight and the ground crew - were all very friendly, helpful and actually seemed like they enjoyed their jobs. I called West Jet prior to checking in on-line and my call was answered within a minute by a real human who was so helpful. That's the polar opposite of so many airlines like Air Canada."
Cons: "The seats are too close together but that's not unique to West Jet. And the in flight crew was so helpful that it makes up for the lack of space."
Pros: "Flight was smooth and landed 17 minutes earlier. Bags arrived before I was in front of baggage area."
Pros: "Easy to change flight same day to one flight earlier."
Cons: "Forced me to check in my (undersized) duffel bag carry on. Then forgot To load the bag onto the plane. WestJet cited a questionable and unlikely reason, that the bag was not loaded due to baggage to passenger weight ratio for safety reasons, even though flight was far from full with multiple empty rows. Plus there was a grand total of only approximately 12 pieces of baggage at the carousel. Also the plane’s auxiliary power generator was broken, which meant no a/c while on the tarmac before and after takeoff. Cabin was warm though not intolerable, however led to delays at both origin and destination airport due to having to wait for an external power supply truck. No in flight service due to supposed turbulence. Which would have been fine, except there really wasn’t much turbulence. Didn’t affect me, but my neighbor’s entertainment system was broken. However, these multiple issues and the broken power generator makes me wonder about what other maintenance issues have been overlooked or not addressed. Most of all I was offended by the clear lack of honesty about my baggage. If there really was a weight limit safety issue despite the plane being far from maximum capacity, then there are much bigger issues with the plane that makes me never want to fly WestJet again. But don’t insult your passengers by lying to cover up your carelessness. My baggage arrived on the following (my original) flight, but that which was delayed by nearly two hours. I’ve flown on United, Delta, Southwest, JetBlue, WowAir, AA, Alaskan, Virgin, American Airlines, United Airways, China Air, EVA, and Air Canada. So far, WestJet has been by far my worst experience."
Cons: "I miss the wedding party I was the bridesmaid"
Pros: "Service on plane. Attendants were delightful."
Cons: "Sat on the runway and it smelled of exhaust, which made me nauseous."
Pros: "Liked that personnel are diverse and inclusive."
Cons: "Personnel at West Jet counter did not communicate clearly and loud enough for passengers to hear compare to other persons from other airlines like Delta wherein person spoke clearly. Suggest further training on communication skills."
Pros: "The cabin crew were outstanding on WS709 today. This is my fourth trip with Westjet, and today stood above. Diane was beyond efficient and pleasant while maintaining a smile and grace, while a number of unattended children were onboard. My seat was changed, and that's fine - mostly because of the manner in which the crew at Pearson handled it. Then, I couldn't resist giving up my re-assigned (centre) seat so that two sisters could sit together. The two folk in my row were lovely, they talked more than I did, but when I joined in, it was a genuinely pleasant conversation. Three strangers, meeting per chance. The woman next to me had given her seat up for a family to sit together, so it really was a chance encounter! Diane needs to be promoted!"
Cons: "While things happen, I wonder why when I was readied a seat, it was missed that two children, sisters, were sitting in separate rows? Should they have automatically been assigned two seats together - they were unaccompanied. As happens, an 'aunt-like' woman was seated next to them, and again, Diane was an another in-charge auntie!"
Cons: "The plugs don't actually charge anything... :-/"
Pros: "They were quick and efficient"
Pros: "Agreed to check bag at gate, early boarding in return. Great gift!"
Cons: "LaGuardia is terrible. They shrank departure lanes and we got stuck on the plane for an hour. I hate this airport. Something always goes wrong."
Pros: "Crew and food"
Cons: "No tv and boarding was a mess"
Pros: "very nice staff. comfortable seats"
Cons: "no ice for drinks. would have preferred in flight entertainment on seat backs"
Pros: "I like the fact that there's a free snack even though its a short flighy. I love it! Cabin crew are so nice and friendly. Very accomodating. Im planning to go back to New York on September."
Cons: "- The unprofessional way the staff "sorted us out". Especially the lady at check-in. Our flight was from NY to Toronto and then connecting after a nine-hour layover from Toronto to London. On all flights, we got the seats in the middle of the aircraft allocated, which is challenging when you are on crutches. - The second flight to London was in a terribly old machine where the overhead compartments were not well equipped to accommodate my crutches. The only way they fitted was at the very back underneath all the luggage. So when I asked the flight staff to help me get my crutch to go to the toilet, as I could not get it myself, he asked: "do you really have to use it?". I considered that very rude! - The selling of the entertainment systems took forever, which meant that the food sale was very late. Almost 4 hours into the flight on an overnight flight is really late! Especially when people would prefer to sleep. Due to my medication, I had to wait for food, but it took forever. All in all, not the best experience"
Cons: "Snack options..."
Pros: "Always friendly"
Cons: "No complimentary drink all of a sudden"
Cons: "Even though it was the first flight of the day, WestJet still left an hour late which meant I missed my connecting flight. That meant I also had to rebook my ground transportation an additional cost. Why they couldn't manage to get the first flight of the day out on time, I don't know. This stuff happens, and I am generally a patient and understanding person. That said, WestJet not only caused inconvenience and added expense, the airline had absolutely destroyed my snowboard bag. It was damaged so badly that I had to tape it up just so I could get out of the airport without losing my stuff everywhere. The WestJet employees didn't say anything about the damage, and clearly hoped I would just go away without making a claim. To make matters worse, they only pay part of the cost to replace my luggage."
Pros: "The flight was on time, there was enough room for carryons in the overhead bins"
Cons: "I did not have any food or use the entertainment options so that’s why I scored them low as I don’t know how good they were."
Pros: "I received adequate notification for check in and updates"
Cons: "There was a slight delay though we managed to arrive on time"
Cons: "this flight was cancelled after we boarded and no other flights were available until two days later - completely unacceptable for a 1-hour flight for which most people travel for a weekend, particularly when other airlines sent flights safely in the same conditions (Air Canada later that night, Porter early the next morning)"
Pros: "All staff were amazing"
Cons: "The Toronto airport has to be on of the most unorganized and disfunctional airport in the world. I have never seen any airport as poorly designed as this one. I would suggest that any traveller try to avoid this airport because I have never had a good experience at this airport."
Pros: "Gave me accommodations for the night and rescheduled my flight."
Cons: "Misinformed me about where to catch shuttle for the hotel. A representative told me I was to be given a free entrance to the flight lounge for the inconvenience and it was not approved."
Pros: "Very pleasant crew. Complimentary wine was a welcome surprise"
Cons: "no entertainment at all. boarding proccedure at LGA absolutely sucked. the zone system was ignored and we were herded in like sheep. No need for that at all. uncaring staff at the counter."
Pros: "Free booze"
Pros: "Seats and the crew"
Cons: "Checking in takes a long time"
Cons: "Toronto connection takes forever!!"
Pros: "Friendliness of customer service (phone), gate attendant and flight crew. I travelled with a pet and their organization is seamless! Well done... again!"
Cons: "Everything was great"
Pros: "The fly is in time"
Cons: "A bit of disorganization in the row where they reviewed documentation and the suitcases of three machines to print passages only served 1"
Pros: "Hilarious crew member. Great Canadian jokes"
Pros: "The crew were very helpful but no refreshments because of turbulence. Flight was low so very interesting to be below clouds and just above. Good notice of flight delay in time to stay home for two hours.... thanks!!"
Cons: "The flight was two hours late leaving.m Arrival in Toronto was so far from exit and thru customs was very slow... new machines."
Pros: "The friendliest crew ever!"
Cons: "The bag of treat I got with my coffee don't remember what it was but it had no taste. I tasted it and discarded the rest."
Pros: "Crew was good, the flight landed 30mins early - however the airport wasn't ready for us to be so early."
Cons: "I sat in coach and always feel like a sardine stuffed into my seat."
Pros: "The flight was delayed over 2 hours."
Cons: "They gave a voucher for food for 15 dollars."
Pros: "The hostesses did their best to entertain us."
Cons: "Flight fro LGA ny cancelled later flight delayed so into Toronto 1 am. Booked me in to holiday inn, no meal vouchers and the on going flight not till 8 pm ! Had to pay extra 50$ to stay til .6pm . Very poor customer service!!! Still not in London yet!!"
Pros: "Friendly Staff , quick boarding, flight ON TIME"
Pros: "Fast boarding"
Cons: "Flight attendant was a little pushy"
Cons: "Our flight was delayed. At the gate no one announced anything, agents were just standing there looking around. People had to approach them one by one to see the reason for the delay."
Pros: "As always crew is very attentive. They make the safety presentation fun and engaging."
Pros: "Flight was delayed and then cancelled due to bad weather. Crew don't handle well the discomfort of the passengers that has to wait about 8 hours for the next flight."
Cons: "Delta should give some kind of support in this kind of situation."
Cons: "Flight was at 6:35pm and we didn't leave until 10:45pm, which caused me to miss my appointment in Toronto."
Pros: "Overall a great experience."
Pros: "The agent at check-in was very friendly and helpful."
Cons: "Flight was delayed, so missed connection. As it turns out, Air Canada was aware all along that we would miss our connection; however, they still had us board. The gate agent should have been conscientious and informed us that the delay was ongoing with our flight being number 22+ on the tarmac to take off, thus guaranteeing our missed connection. They should have rebooked us on another flight from our original destination vs rebooking us upon arrival in Montreal to miss further connecting flights. Very disappointed!!!!! Based on this experience alone, never again will I or my family travel Air Canada."
Pros: "Entertainment options were good and flight was pretty on time."
Cons: "All was ok. Would like more snack options."
Pros: "Friendly plane crew though"
Cons: "2 hours late from LGA to Montreal. No weather to speak of. No reason given. Poor communication at gate."
Cons: "Flights all evening were cancelled. I was just going for a weekend and they couldn't reschedule me until the following evening. I couldn't go on the trip because of these problems. I was in the airport for hours with two young children and they did not do much to help me reschedule quickly."
Cons: "Close to a 4 hour delay. No explanation."
Pros: "A customer service agent rebooked us on a flight 2/4 via Boston to YYZ."
Cons: "The rebooked flight was also cancelled and the counter staff in Boston were not helpful. We were stranded in Boston and never made it to Toronto. We had to find our own way back to NY Air Canada, meanwhile, was still selling seats at exorbitant prices while thousands of passengers were left stranded I travel several times a month and will ensure that I avoid travel with Air Canada. I will also let met friends and colleagues know not to use Kayak or fly with Air Canada. Because I booked with Kayak, Air Canada would not resolve the problem"
Pros: "Quick professional services"
Pros: "I like the tv screens at the back of the head rests"
Cons: "The seating was a little cramped"
Cons: "Terrible experience. I bought 2 tickets for my parents from New York to Shanghai a month ago. But on the day of flight, Air Canada refused their boarding, stating that they did not have Canada visas, the fight would transfer in Montreal which needs Canada visa. I had never heard about it and it was never mentioned when I booking the tickets. I called the first customer service who was rude and not helpful. Finally, I found out that my parents had to transfer to Toronto, which does not need a visa. But in order to make the change, I had to pay Air Canada extra $1180, which were more expensive than the tickets self. At that time, I had no other choice. I am really upset. I want to warm all Chinese who don't have green card or Canada visa that do not buy tickets from Air Canada. Their customer service told me that they did not have the obligation to list this kind of information on their website. So if you choose Air Canada, you lose your money and deal with all the hassles by yourself. I will never use Air Canada in my whole life again."
Cons: "Flight was delayed"
Pros: "Excellent crew"
Pros: "Spacious seats"
Cons: "Rude staff, delays both to and from Toronto on my flight and numerous others."
Cons: "My flight from NYC to Montreal was delayed 4 hours due to a storm that had passed earlier in the day. That was understandable, however we then sat on the tarmac at the gate for an additional hour because Air Canada's entire computer system suddenly crashed. We finally got to the runway and in the middle of takeoff the pilot slammed on the brakes and aborted the takeoff because he did not reach high enough speed. It was very scary. I was supposed to land in Montreal at 10:20 pm but arrived there at 2:30 am the next morning."
Cons: "We were told our flight was delayed due to weather, and then due to mechanics. The weather was fine in both new york and toronto those days, and other toronto flights left on time. we ended up being delayed 6 hours in the airport, and other flights still went out ahead of us. furthermore, because our flight was delayed, they didn't seem to prepare for the new departure time, and we were held up for almost an hour on the runway before being able to take off, and almost 30 minutes on the runway once we landed too. better planning and customer service needs to be required in these situations."
Pros: "Chris from AirCanada customer service is a true hero to the industry and I'm sure he deserves much more recognition than he gets. Thanks Chris for helping save our travels!!!"
Cons: "When checking in for our flight, AirCanada prompted me to select which passengers' email addresses should be used to send updates in case of changes, delays, or cancelations. I selected the both of us to receive the updates. However, we never got any notice that our flight was CANCELLED. They cancelled it well in advance that had we known, we wouldn't have gone to the airport but NO - we already arrived and passed through security only to arrive out by the gates and see on the board it was cancelled. Even while passing through customs, the officer said he didn't see it on the flight schedule and then said, "oh it's just listed at a different gate." The way in which AirCanada handled the incident was completely unprofessional and just plain stupid. I for sure will be giving my business to Amtrak or Greyhound the next time I need a trip from NYC to Montreal."
Pros: "Comfortable seats, nice crew"
Cons: "Extra charge for checking a suitcase, extra charge for choosing your seat (all seats are the same) boarding crew did not uodate as to continuous delays in flight, no headphones"
Pros: "We were lucky as we were the only flights that made it out of NY that night. All other fights to Toronto and Montreal were cancelled. It was Chaos in the airport but our flight was nice."
Pros: "That at least, the plane eventually did take off and landed safely."
Cons: "Fly time each way from NY to Toronto is approx an hour but they added an extra hour of a delay going and and an hour and a half delay further on the flight back home."
Cons: "Nice flight. A bit of delay, otherwise everything was fine as always :)"
Cons: "My flight was delayed by 3 hours, no information was provided on the delay and further delay at the gate waiting for the crew."
Cons: "There was absolutely nothing that I found to complain about"
Cons: "Multiple delays, slow employees at desk, employees had attitudes when they were asked questions."
Cons: "Despite being good weather, flight was delayed for almost 6 hours without any explanation given to passengers. I believe the airline cancelled our flight so they can consolidate 2 flights for cost savings.... never fly again with Air Canada"
Pros: "Got a free upgrade to economy comfort, very pleasant short flight."
Cons: "A gate labeled A9 should not be in terminal B"
Pros: "fast, friendly, clean, courteous, easy to check in and board."
Cons: "No complimentary food, small seats as always."
Cons: "What a mess. Every DELTA flight I have been on in recent months has had terrible delay issues - I'm cancelling my credit card."
Pros: "That we arrived, finally, safely and our bags did too."
Cons: "The kiosk at checking was unable to process our boarding pass so we had to wait in line to see an agent to check in and take our bags. There were 3 lines, but people who arrived after us were taken care of before us. It was not organized. Our flight was delayed and the waiting area at Laguardia was so crowded. I fly Air Canada as seldom as possible because there's almost always something that complicates the trip. Our daughter booked these flights so we could visit her for Mothers Day."
Pros: "I prefer to fly Air Canada over the other airlines that fly between New York and Toronto because of the comfort and cleanliness in the aircraft and pleasant service."
Pros: "Crew noticed I was thirsty and gave me the can without asking"
Cons: "Crew said I wish they would hurry up and get off and I whipped my head around and she apologized. She meant no harm but that's not good service."
Cons: "Long delays"
Pros: "The customer service reps were pleasant."
Cons: "Our flight got delayed 7+ hours but we only found out one to two hours at a time. Our return flight was flat out canceled and so we were only able get a flight 4 hours after the original. They did nothing to compensate the passengers at all, claiming it was not their fault; it was due to construction. Construction which has been underway for several weeks and they were well aware. If you know there is going to be construction at the airport perhaps adjust your flight schedule accordingly and don't sell as many flights as when there is no construction?"
Pros: "Once we were up in the air everything was well and good."
Cons: "Massive weather delays at the gate and lack of communication from gate agents."
Pros: "Terrible experience with delays and cancellations and waiting times for customs. I felt like it was groundhog day. Had to leave the airport back through a massive line in customs after my flight was ultimately cancelled. They are doing work on the runways, weather, whatever. Seems some flights could leave especially those that were not Canadian airlines. This has happened on more than one occasion and the airline handles it very poorly with little communication. Will not fly AC again if I have the choice"
Pros: "I was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism and friendliness of the AC information staff inside the gate area, especially when I was offered an earlier flight by almost two hours. The boarding process went smoothly. The flight crew was friendly, accommodating and efficient."
Pros: "The flight attendants are usually nice and very helpful when we're traveling with our baby."
Cons: "We take air Canada from NYC to Toronto a few times a year, and they often cancel flights when they're not full enough, which is annoying. Also the agents at the counter are not courteous."
Pros: "No problems."
Pros: "Arrived early at check in counter and was offered to catch an earlier flight"
Cons: "Was not able to use a toddler booster for my daughter"
Cons: "Was not on time, old air craft."
Pros: "Flight was on time."
Cons: "No hot beverage was served."
Pros: "Entertainment and comfort of seats"
Cons: "The crew was very rude and not helpful"
Pros: "We were delayed a little over an hour (on the field) before take-off because of information from Toronto that fog was delaying the landing time of the planes. The crew handled this excellently by making sure that we were made comfortable and the pilot gave us several updates as he got the information about take-off for Toronto. On the flight to New York on September 28th, I experienced my first landing where not even a tiny bump was felt when the plane touched the ground."
Cons: "It got cancelled and the service was horrific"
Cons: "Long time till take off."
Cons: "The Toronto airport was ill-equipped for an international transfer. I barely made it despite a 90 minute layover. Air Canada was OK, not great."
Pros: "The flight 723 left on time. From LA Guardia...the flight was smooth...the aircraft was clean and the inflight though hurried was efficiently carried out by a couple of pleasant looking air hostesses."
Cons: "Nothing really ...I like to fly Air Canada"
Cons: "Very long line to get to security"
Pros: "Free snack"
Cons: "From LGA to Toronto the input jack for the headphones was all messed up and I kept having to fiddle with it to get good sound."
Pros: "Good landing ahead of scheduled arrival time"
Cons: "Airplane is Too small :)"
Cons: "Seats have no give to recline, also the bare flights are awful cos you think you're getting a cheap flight bit then the added fees tack on, making the price similar to other slightly more pricier options. The crew was fine, no complaints."
Pros: "Seats size are comfortable"
Cons: "No food on board , neautral flight attendants. No entertainment for free"
Pros: "Free entertainment!"
Pros: "Randomly I got selected to upgrade to first class, it was really nice!"
Cons: "It was delayed 4 hours"
Pros: "Plane was very clean."
Cons: "Having to use my own equipment for entertainment Getting 1/2can of soda for my drink."
Cons: "Waited too long to board and didn't board till hours later. The flight attendant lady was a bit rude, she didn't ask me if I had trash and skipped me, when she came back I asked if she could please throw away the trash and she said not now and walked away. Never came back for the trash..."
Pros: "Alex and Marcus -- flight attendants -- were awesome. They thanked passengers directly and personally for flying United, and this was a very nice touch and I observed that passengers were touched by this gesture."
Pros: "The access to free TV/Movies"
Cons: "Everyone from the Ticket Agents to TSA, to the crew treat you like you're a second class citizen. When I purchased this ticket, I didn't realize what "basic" meant, and I will never buy one of these types of fares again. Extremely disappointed with United."
Pros: "Service was outstanding"
Pros: "Quick flight. Arrived 30 mins early! Great friendly crew :)"
Cons: "It was after 10p. The lights were going on and off for beverage services and garage pick up. The lights were the stewards were were on, either for them or for people going back and forth to the bathroom ."
Pros: "The entire process was easy and the flight attendants were very friendly."
Pros: "I liked that I got to upgrade to first class for $120"
Cons: "The stewardist was rude, talked to much, talked horribly about the airplane and plane flight. She served someone orange and vodka instead of plain orange juice. Imagine if that was a child she served it to? She wasn't even very apologetic about it."
Cons: "Seat of 1.5 hours on board the flight, but understand it's beyond the airlines control"
Cons: "The fact that I wasn't able to sit with my travel partner"
Pros: "The staff was great, very helpful and courteous."
Cons: "Theres no food whatsoever and no options for the tv unless you pay. The seats aren't spacious."
Cons: "I was forced to check in my carry-on bag (and pay). My flight was delayed and therefore I missed my connecting flight. I was unable to change seats, and the United staff were I accommodating to assist with the "Basic Economy" fare. I will never book United "basic economy" ever again!"
Cons: "Can't think of i enjoy it"
Cons: "Late departure blaming weather but there was no weather issue where they referenced (we all can check online these days guys -_-) RUDE crew, ran out of food (to purchase no less) by row 18 on a 38 row plane, almost missed connecting bc crew made no effort to help get people with tight connections off the plane first. I hate this airline. I am legacy Continental with 14yrs of business travel experience. United, you suck."
Pros: "The flight at the time was so crowded with people"
Cons: "Experiencing a delay in my flight and waited 4 hours in the airport."
Cons: "My trip was poor because my flight got cancelled and I couldn't get on another flight until 24hours later and there were NO hotels available at all that night and this was an emergency flight I needed to be on. I will not be flying with you guys again because no one cared that I was basically stranded in NY with no where to go and I wasn't given any options to make my trip with you guys better."
Pros: "On schedule"
Pros: "Anan hour delay!"
Pros: "Empty flight"
Cons: "I got hit really hard with a drink cart, it left a mark☹️️ Then my luggage came on a separate flight."
Pros: "Economy plus is comfortable, crew was friendly, free wifi and entertainment options via United's app is a plus"
Cons: "Boarding process could be better, gate staff not so friendly"
Cons: "My luggage lock was broken."
Pros: "Very friendly flight attendants and pilots."
Pros: "The flight attendant was willing to give me 2 bags of pretzels for the two hour delay...that was nice"
Cons: "The two hour delay caused by overloading the plane with cargo and not fixing the sink in one of the coach restrooms caused dozens to miss their flights and my 9 dollar train ride home turned into a 65 dollar cab fare."
Pros: "Flight left on time and arrived early"
Cons: "Gate staff and flight staff were brusque and rude."
Cons: "They are bar none the worst airline. Besides terrible service with overbooking m, they have zero places to charge your phone."
Cons: "The default on the browser defaulted to April 9 when I was actually booking the ticket for April 2. So I had to forfeit the $317 ticket. I use kayak a lot - can anything be down ?"
Pros: "Not much, except maybe the price."
Cons: "Rude ground staff (air staff were nice). Several delays and not organized at all."
Pros: "The staff at the receptionist at the gate is extremely nice. It was easy to check in then I had to take Oxygen on board so it was more And the usual kind of check in"
Pros: "Another flight was issued"
Cons: "My original flight schedule was cancelled"
Pros: "The staff was friendly and helpful. A young lady on my Houston to Austin flight helped me find my seat. A young man on my New York to Houston flight was very kind."
Pros: "The crew was friendly.. that's was it"
Cons: "The plane is tight. I'm not small but I'm not gigantic and I have comfortably fit in other planes. The skinny ppl next 2 me were cramped and u could barely lean back w/of feeling bad 4 ppl bhind u. It was only a 2hr flight nyc -chi-town but I had the worse crick! The snacks were 1/2 empty, ther was no free wifi or movies @ all. & The tv channel didn't change."
Pros: "Easy fast friendly!"
Cons: "That it wasnt free :)"
Cons: "1.5 hour delay!"
Pros: "Excellent attention to detail"
Cons: "Flight was very late. Boarding is rediculous. They load from the front of the plane and people go to the back looking for overhead storage and then try to more forward again while the people with seats in the back are coming in."
Pros: "I liked that 1 out of our four flights had more room & personal tvs."
Cons: "I did not like the fact that out of our four flights three were not too comfortable... & no tvs on three out of four"
Pros: "smooth sailing the staff was pretty good"
Cons: "The snacks were horrible. And the fact you get a sip of a drink makes no sense."
Pros: "I had a blood coat on my leg 2 months before my flight and the pain and swelling sometimes were unbearable, United was extremely accommodating, kind and courteous from the check in all the way to helping me retrieve my luggage in a wheel chair and that alone ease my pain, not having to do any extra effort was a huge relief on my legs. Definitely booking again with United and Kayak"
Cons: "TSA were less than basic, making me go up and down twice trough two different metal detectors and a body scan machine, then asking me to put both my hands above my head while standing up in the body scanner, a guy in a wheel chair who could only stand with a cane, these guys are barbaric but that's not the airlines fault."
Pros: "How they take care us in the plane I love!!"
Cons: "Everything was good"
Pros: "Staff was very nice"
Cons: "Two flights, two delays."
Pros: "left on time without fanfare."
Cons: "internet was weak."
Pros: "I arrived safe and sound. A United ticket clerk at Chicago O'Hare was super nice but didn't really help my situation. I appreciated her effort and warm demeanor."
Cons: "After booking the flight I noticed that there was a 25 minute window between the time my flight was scheduled to land in my connecting city and the departure time of my connecting flight. Aware that most airline close the gate door and the flight 10 to 15 minutes before take off and the fact that it takes about 15 minutes to get off a flight after the aircraft door open, I was sure that this would be a problem. Also if I then had to change terminals that would be another 20 minutes. Long story short, I thought this was poor customer service on United's side. I called united the day before my flight and customer service rep assured me that it would be the same terminal and that these times are customary on the part of United. I then also mentioned this at the gate as well and talked to a very kind Flight Attendant. Everyone worked to put me at easy about this. My flight left 20 minutes late but made the time up while in the air. We landed I got off the flight in record time and asked a gate attendant to check my flight status. The flight and gate had been closed. They then had be go talk with a very kind woman at the customer service desk. She then moved me to a AA flight. She said "now the fate closes in 10 minutes so you probably won't make it but run". "You've got to be kidding me" i thought but she was so nice so I didn't question it... But I RAN!!! I didn't make it and AA customer service rep put me on the last flight out. I say in the airport for an extra 4 hours and ate lots of food I'm sure is slowly killing me as we speak. Happy to be safe and at home."
