Hawaiian Air gave NO notification via email, phone or otherwise about the cancelled flight. We arrived at the airport at 5:30 am and we stood in line until 7:45 for them to find another flight for us. They found a flight at 5:50 pm, almost 11 hours past our original time, out of LAX (we were in Oakland). The flight they put us on was also delayed. This caused my family great inconvenience as we were planning to release my dad's ashes and were not able to do that as planned.
No wifi on the plane. Gross food. No in-flight movies or TV. Poor customer service. A nearly empty flight yet strict and stringent rules about not being able to sit in an empty row when two old people came to sit in my (empty) row, which meant I couldn't lay out. Spend less money on the gd aloha-themed everything and more money on actual amenities.
I fly this route regularly and Alaska is my first choice - the service is good, and everyone gets a celebratory drink prior to landing in the Islands. I will often upgrade to 1st class, and that is so worth it. I arrive at my destination after 5 hours feeling relaxed and able to jump right into the new environment.
In 1st class - no complaints whatsoever.
In coach - the usual: seats small, cramped, packed in with hundreds of other human beings, just waiting for it to be over.
What a difference between the two!
The attendant at the boarding door was rude when I gave him my ticket to board . Who is he to tell me that he has the authority to not let board the plane for security reasons ! What security reason ? Why do every Oakland airport attendant feel the need to say that .
Every single person I encountered on this flight was so friendly, offered assistance, and had a smile. Even the pilot thanked us (in person not just overhead on the speakers) for flying with them! It was one of my most enjoy flights. 3 rounds of beverage service!
I was impressed with how the staff and the welcome videos on board the plane really conveyed how the airline cares about giving passengers an exceptional experience as well as cares about teaching us a little bit about the culture there in Hawaii
iThe videos were really intrusive and there was there was too much of them we were constantly bombarded with music and commercials and videos it was really a pain. It really made me not want to book Hawaiian Airlines in the future. I wamted to sleep and couldn't. Also there must have been 4 or 5 crying, screaming and waiking babies. Crew staff did nothing. The airline should put some protocols in llace to deal with this major nuisance. A cone of silence-- make these moms have to be locked into a cone with their screaming children where I don't have to listen to it. something needs to be done. Hands down the WORST flight experience of my life. And inhabe traveled a lot.
We’re not the seller.
At KAYAK we don’t set the prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.
We compile tonnes of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we can't guarantee prices we find.
Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car rentals can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find, on occasion, that certain prices are no longer available.
If you have more questions or if you have a bad price to report to us, please send us an
and someone from our team will get back to you promptly.
The fares displayed in KAYAK ads found on other sites include all taxes and fees for economy class travel and were found
by KAYAK users in the last 72 hours. Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights and days.
Fares are subject to change and may not be available on all flights or dates of travel. Some carriers charge
additional fees for extra checked bags. Please check the carriers' sites.
Hacker Fares sell tickets to/from a destination via different airlines and are subject to the booking
requirements and terms of each. Any changes made to one of your tickets will not necessarily afford
rights to change the other ticket. Fares change frequently and are subject to availability.
