I had asked for a wheelchair but I had to hunt down someone and when I disenbarked, there was no one there to help me and I had to walk all the way up the ramp and could not breathe ,a few of the passengers were very upset because I could not catch my breath, they were more helpful than the airlines. The young lady who was supposed to help me did not show. A passenger started to push the wheel chair towards where I was supposed to be picked up by my son. Things were more organized in Portland,Oregon. The flight was very good.
Boarding area was a scrum, instead of a line. Audio selections are poor. The necessity or pre-ordering food is a hassle. Flight was delayed because of human error, not because of weather or mechanical issues.
I didn’t like the two hours and more of delay
Pros: "Really friendly crew. Smooth flight very positive experience. 10/10"
Pros: "Great crew. Very friendly and attentive."
Cons: "Cleanliness of tray table, and leg room"
Cons: "Flight was delayed by an hour"
Cons: "It was a good flight and a good crew"
Pros: "Nothing this trip :("
Cons: "Some assistance finding lodging and a voucher for lodging and food at the very least"
Pros: "Crew was friendly. Seats were comfortable. Premium class has lots of legroom."
Cons: "The 737-800 restrooms are tiny and cramped. The landing in Boston was a jolt."
Pros: "After the purchase, Alaska is using Virgin planes, which are very nice - comfy, well appointed, and with the fun lighting."
Cons: "This is the second time in 3 flights with Alaska that they’ve bumped my seat at boarding time from a nice aisle near the front to a window near the restrooms. I’d gladly have volunteered if asked, but they didn’t ask. This most recent flight, the beverage service was extremely slow - it took nearly an hour for them to get down to my relocated seat. By then, it was nearly time to land, so I barely had time to finish. I’ve noticed the cups are smaller now as well. I usually fly rather than drive for the holidays, I think I’m done with flying."
Pros: "Quick boarding and polite staff"
Cons: "Small and uncomfortable seating. Small windows with no pull down cover"
Pros: "There was one crew member who was super nice and had a smile who kept going around asking if anyone would like refills or anything. Also, I like that there were charging ports... even if I didn’t use them. And there was plenty of leg room. Lastly, there was a flamboyant crew member who was really nice as well. I liked him a lot."
Cons: "There was this one older stewardess with short blonde hair who had an attitude the whole time. While she was trying to do drink orders a man had spilled his drink so he asked her for a napkin. She rolled her eyes and gave it to him. I was in an isle seat and I got hit in the back with the cart and all she said was “get out of my way I’m coming through” and it actually really hurt. I got bumped by her another three times. And by no other crew member was I hit on my side. Maybe she was just having a bad day..... or maybe she didn’t like her job.... but it definitely showed."
Cons: "We have been sitting in the plane after landing one hour ,because no gate available"
Pros: "Seats were very comfy from PDX to Ontario. Liked the fig bars. Good selection of beverages. Friendly crew. Smooth landing."
Cons: "Soooo disappointed that you needed to pay for the internet on the smaller planes while on the larger one it was included in the price for us lowly Economy flyers. The flight from SEA to PDX was tight with the smaller seats. My husband is a big man and if he had not been sitting next to me and been a man I did not know it would have been VERY uncomfortable. The flight from PDX to ONT was better with the seats but again we had no way to charge our devices and were asked to pay for the WiFi. Really??? In this day when EVERYONE uses them you are going to punish economy??? If you offer WiFi on the big ALaska planes then it should be offered on all of them. Not sure how hard it would be to wire in charge ports but someone should be working on that."
Pros: "I'm used to being spoiled by Hawaiian Airlines. By comparison to Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian is a lot warmer with customer service, they are more efficient, they give you a free meal for trans-pacific flights, and they give you a screen or full entertainment system (depending on what kind of airplane you get). Alaska Airlines, by contrast, is a lot more bare-bones. I hardly had any contact with the flight attendants (when I did, they were nice enough I suppose), there was no food on the flight unless you paid a good penny for it, the seats were pretty average, and there was nothing really to watch (not even a common screen for movies, and this was a trans-pacific flight). You had to order their entertainment iPads. So I pretty much slept. That said, both Alaska and Hawaiian have good prices. Alaska had better options for departure and arrival times."
Cons: "The bare bones aspect (see other side)."
Pros: "Consistently beat the “your bags at luggage claim within 20 minutes of arrival” goal. Bravo Alaska"
Pros: "She was calm and caring. An unexpected large dog passenger fist phase her. Dog, dog owner, and other passengers were happy."
Pros: "The flight was less than 1,5 hours, which is 30 minutes less than estimated. Staff was great!"
Cons: "All was great"
Pros: "All of the above"
Cons: "All of the above"
Cons: "Wasn’t given the opportunity to choose my seat and was put in last row."
Cons: "I made a reservation for a particular reason and got an email from ALASKA saying it was BOOKED only to find a later email where ALASKA CHANGED my reservation"
Cons: "Flight was cancelled and I was inconveniently scheduled to fly out about TWELVE HOURS before my originally scheduled flight. Unbelievable."
Pros: "The only perk was the complementary drink while flying."
Cons: "Basically everything. This was for a connecting flight. We had to go through customs and security twice at the Portland airport because the employees gave us wrong information. They offered us a shuttle to our gate since we were running late, and then the shuttle dropped us off on the completely opposite end of the airport. We literally had to sprint across the airport with 15 minutes until our plane left, and go through security our second time where the employees were rude and not even slightly helpful. While on the plane the crew was less than friendly and short with passengers. After we landed, someone from our group was also missing their bag and was informed it was left behind in Oregon and wasn't even loaded onto the plane. Seriously the worst airport, worst crew, and worst flying experience I've ever had."
Pros: "Everything went so smoothly. I was surprised at all the food options available and how nice the people were. The plane was comfortable."
Cons: "my original ticket had a tsa pre-check on it,when i tried to go thru security it would not read so i was told to go back to the counter to have it reprinted, mind you the lines to go thru screening were hundreds of people long that morning,so i did. the reprinted ticket did not have the tsa precheck on it but the ticketperson said it would be fine if i just showed the original. not what happened,i was sent all the way back to the end of general boarding and consequently nearly missed my flight. also there was zero air in the aircraft,it was stifling hot, smelly and miserable.and once again zero ackowledgement of any mvp gold statis of any kind. im starting to wonder whats the point anymore? you used to be alot more ......nice,i guess. and honestly how many very old wrinkled up senior citizens do you guys hire? i dont feel like most of the crew would really be able to handle any type of crisis if there was one. sorry ,i used to be very happy with you and now have been taking Delta more often."
Pros: "Crew was wonderful and remained true to their promise to try and be as quiet as possible so everyone could sleep. This was very nice, as the flight was already short enough that most people would get less than 6 hours of rest between takeoff and landing."
Cons: "A woman thought she had my seat. She said "I am 29A" and so I quickly got the steward so we could resolve the complication. It turned out she read 29A on her itinerary only it was for an earlier leg of the trip. Instead of understanding her accidental oversight, the steward said to us both, "you have 29C and you 29A whats the problem?" I understand he was busy, only 2 passengers booked for the same seat would cause a problem on a full flight. He should have understood her accidental self-seat assignment change because she read the seat from the earlier flight. She and I weren't trying to have issues, we just wanted to sort out what we thought was an overlap in seat assignments."
Pros: "The crew were even more friendly and chatted with me, the flight was more empty so I had an entire row to myself and was able to sit near the lavatory. I was ablessed to watch "Hidden Figures" during the flight, a movie I had been anxious to watch but had not had the time. And the coffee was delicious! Whenever I make my own travel arrangements I always fly with Alaska!"
Cons: "Bit of a bumpy ride due to some turbulence, however that cannot be helped."
Pros: "Clean plane; organized, quick boarding; overhead space for my carry-on (at no extra charge); I didn't get assulted like other airlines do to people; got me where I needed to be at the right time for the right price; free connectivity for messaging (on one flight, second flight wouldn't work)"
Pros: "1) Attendant crew was nice. 2) Appreciated being able to board from front and rear."
Cons: "1) Flight time delayed, so late arrival ~12am was made even later ~12:30am 2) Booked two tickets together months ago, yet we were not allowed to sit together. 3) Entertainment required the downloading of the gogo app which should have been done on the ground with wifi and/or cellular data. in the air, one window said you could (wait) and download, while another window effectively said, "better luck next time". Pre-flight email should have warned passengers to download beforehand. 4) Exiting plane only allowed from front; took forever from our next-to-last row."
Pros: "The check-in was easy."
Cons: "Flight was delayed from GEG -> PDX Before departure, the pilot announced that the flight would be "very bumpy" and so they weren't going to have drink service at all and the flight attendants would stay seated for the duration of the flight. This made me very nervous for the whole flight. However, it was hardly bumpy at all. I arrived tired from getting all worked up over nothing. On the way back to Spokane, the pilot announced before departure that the takeoff and landing would be bumpy, but once we got up to altitude it would be smooth. The reality was totally the opposite. During takeoff it was quite smooth, but then there was so much turbulence at cruising altitude that the pilot came on to say they were cancelling the beverage service halfway through for safety reasons. And then it smoothed out before landing. I thought it was a bad experience on both counts. Why even bother making a prediction about flight conditions if they are so changeable? It only sets people's expectations and then they are disappointed or unsettled."
Pros: "While flying to Portland from Maui, our next flight was cancelled. No one notified us of this while on the plane or as we exited the plane. My mom found out while I was in the bathroom. She talked to the person at the gate we had just arrived at. She told us we were rerouted to a better flight and told us to go to a specific gate. When we arrived at the gate, Rainy (your employee) explained the situation again calmly, printed our boarding passes, told us we had an hour to catch a bite and worked on seating us together on the plane (I am traveling with a child). When we came back to the gate to board, she had taken care of our seating issue and was very nice. If you are going to cancel a flight on a customer, this is exactly how it should be handled. Better flight, better time, calm and helpful staff. This was the most enjoyable flight of our trip. Nice size plane and great staff. Just maybe need to notify the on board stewardess, she doesn't need to project or yell to be heard for the courtesy of those who have been traveling all night."
Cons: "Knowing that we got very little rest on the overnight flight, I was looking forward to a good nap on this flight. I was getting it until the airline assistant decided to have a very loud, very long conversation with a passenger. I could barely hear the passenger, but the employee was speaking as if on stage at an ampitheater! I know where she use to work, how she became a stewardess, how many cities she has worked from, how many days she has off, and again how many cities she has been to, AT VERY LOUD LEVELS!"
Pros: "You know, the plane was crowded, it was a puddle jumper, but I was seated with another woman of a certain age who was so in sync with my joys, concerns for our world, fears for our kids, grands and greats, but hopeful that all will turn out. We were so immersed in our conversation the trip felt like 5 minutes long. Neither of us were skinny miniies and cramped in those 'child-sized' seats made no difference, we so enjoyed our visit. When disembarking, there was a male attendant who said, and I paraphrase: This plane has exits both in front and in the back, you may choose whichever one you choose, but if exiting from the rear door, please be careful (and in light of our destination, I must caution you to DUCK.' Well, Eugene, OR? Ensued chuckles, Go Ducks! and much tittering. I complimented him on his sense of humor and myself said "Alaska Rocks!". Just sayin.... Lynne Ledingham, Alaska flight 2081G"
Pros: "Luckily the flight is a short flight."
Cons: "No plane available for the scheduled flight. Had to bring one from the hangar. Seems they can anticipate these issues in advance a little better and be more efficient in resolving them as this is what they do on a daily basis. Once plane available, no crew was available. What happened to our original crew? Attendants @ the desk would mumble "updates" in the overhead phone which were inaudible, prompting passengers to constantly approach the desk to ask about flight status. The whole process seemed unprofessional."
Pros: "Good snack and free wine and beer. And friendly crew."
Cons: "Small plane, small laboratory."
Pros: "The pilot was very polite"
Cons: "Gate staff we're rude seemed bothered when asked for assistance or info"
Pros: "On time boarding, on time departure, frequent updates by captain during flight."
Cons: "No "back of seat" TV's. You were given the option to rent a tablrt for the flight but even when doing that, they reclaim it 30-45 minutes before the end of the flight. On a cross-country, non-stop long flight it would be nice to have the TV's at all seats. Also, with the rented tablet, I was unable to track where we were or follow our progress (as we can with the in-seat TV's). Lastly, on a long-flight, they should have been better stocked. During their second trip to offer food for purchase they were sold out of many items - very limited options at that point."
Pros: "Terrible that I had to carry my carry on down the stairs to plane, lucky it wasn't raining, & then up a flight of stairs to plane with a torn rotator cuff. I felt like I was flying in the 70's. Coming back, a bald headed attendant was very rude. I did not get any refreshments on the way to Portland which they said was a rough ride but ride was smooth. That was ok, that didn't matter if our safety was involved. Also $25 for one bag is a lot to carry hair spray or a few things you can't carry on."
Cons: "I did like the refreshments served on the way back from Portland to Reno. That was nice. A different attendant served us & he was very nice."
Pros: "Very friendly service staff that seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs. Free wine and beer on the flight. Very pleasant experience."
Cons: "part of leg space is used up by the airplane. Guess you can't really change that, but it was uncomfortable"
Pros: "The flight to Seattle was seriously delayed but I was able to make my connecting flight to DC."
Cons: "The crew was not very good at updating the worried customers about their connecting flight status considering that there was a 55 minute delay. I was the last person to board and I made it to the gate in the nick of time. It was really stressful. On my way to PDX I used SW and I had a connecting flight in Denver. However the pilot was very good about giving us an update and assuring that we will get there on time. I felt reassured that SW cared for its passengers and was trying to alleviate our stress."
Pros: "Overall as expected. Decent flight, nothing that made me go "wow", but on time, clean, reasonable boarding."
Cons: "I found the reaction of one of the flight attendants to be unprofessional. When I asked if she could pour a bit of water into my water bottle, rather than say, "I'm sorry, I am not allowed" or "unfortunately, no" or really anything verbal, she made a "tsk, tsk" face and offered me a plastic cup. Besides being annoyingly wasteful as a policy (if indeed it is one - this has not been an issue on other airlines), her customer service skills left something to be desired. This strange interaction left me with a poor overall impression of the flight experience."
Pros: "Ticket agent kindly arranged for us to sit together - after we had been assigned seats apart from one another."
Cons: "Boarding was delayed, disorganized and chaotic. Flight crew seemed to be overwhelmed and scattered. Ran out of hot meal about halfway through aircraft. When I expressed my disappointment, the F.A. said that there were a lot of wrestlers on board and they got all the food. I commented that it was poor planning and the FA stated that he didn't think anything would please me. He was argumentative and rude, IMO. He could have handled it better, eg: "So sorry. Out of our control, etc." To say that the food went to the wrestlers, and attitude gave me and those around me, the impression that he really didn't give a damn. Customer service training would be a good idea."
Pros: "Crew members services were great."
Cons: "Seats are small size, old and some are ripped. Lavatory had no handwash. Most of all, the plane was very shaky/vibrates a lot. Landing wasn't that smooth."
Pros: "I booked my flight within 48 hours of travel and received a fare that I would expect normally with months of planning ahead."
Cons: "The turbulence but obviously a much smaller plane will get whipped around a lot more."
Flew first class - no meal and they didn’t let us know. It was a long flight. Delta first class isn’t really first class
Airport experience is exhausting. Extremely long lines for check-in and then even longer lines at TSA. Hand sanitizer stations are almost all empty and in the mens room, people are crowding together to get soap from one dispenser that has just a bit left... flight was no better than Southwest Airlines, and it took over an hour for the bags to start coming out. Delta bag claim attendant just said, "I don't know what's going on with them, just wait a bit longer".
Pros: "Pilots and crew were amazing"
Cons: "It was perfect"
Cons: "The mask mandate needs to be voluntary ADA violation"
Cons: "The pilot take off, navigation in the air, and landing were horrible ."
Pros: "Baggage handlers extremely fast"
Pros: "Yeah...spacious leg rooms."
Cons: "Too bumpy landing at Jackson."
Cons: "Boarding was a little confusing with seats not being assigned ahead of time"
Pros: "The gate agents were nice enough."
Cons: "We sat on the tarmac for an hour without information as to why we were delayed. We missed our connection in Atlanta, even though we arrived at the gate in time to see the gate agent shut the door while we were running and waving. We arrived at the gate 8 minutes before the flight departure time also. The flight attendant on the flight from Fayetteville just handed out water and cookies without asking what you wanted. She had coffee and snack mix but didn’t ask anyone, just handed them what they got. Overall I was very disappointed in the flight from Fayetteville, NC to Atlanta and with the gate agents at the Atlanta airport. I usually expect more from delta. They didn’t offer vouchers to make up for the missed connection or offer to pay for a hotel since the next flight out was the next morning."
Pros: "One of the flight attendants was nice."
Cons: "5+ hours and just some bagged snacks. Had to wait forever for soda. Screen was difficult to work - touch wasn’t working. Much smaller program selection than flights 6 days ago from RSW to LAX via ATL."
Pros: "Wheelchair waiting at gate, very easy transit"
Pros: "The flight was actually ahead of time!"
Pros: "Quickly boarded and took off as well. It was a really smooth flight!"
Pros: "Quick flight"
Cons: "Delayed and then arrived at airport and sat on tarmac for too long waiting for clearance to go to gate"
Pros: "Food and entertainment was good"
Cons: "The bathroom I used was disgusting."
Pros: "Total Experience of Flying on this Airline ."
Cons: "No Comment."
Cons: "Left 30 minutes late from SLC."
Cons: "Flight was late by almost 2 hours."
Cons: "Everything was great"
Cons: "The monitors kept on freezing"
Pros: "Crew members were very nice and pilot did a great job flying thru turbulence"
Cons: "I don't have any compliants"
Cons: "Seeing as I’m still waiting for my flight, more than five hours later I am not inclined to rank it highly. This airport is an embarrassment and I will try my best to never fly Delta again. Weather is no excuse for this."
Pros: "Traveling mid day and on Tuesday.....it’s my new favorite!"
Pros: "Love the inflight entertainment and the usb plug for phones. Flight left on time and go in a little early"
Cons: "Did not love getting charged $2 for headphones and the girl sitting next to me getting them for free. Super annoying"
Pros: "Mu seat!"
Cons: "My baggage took for to long to arrive"
Cons: "Due to the earthquakes, the film festival I was going to was cancelled. Ten days prior to the flight I called AeroMexico to cancel and they said there would be a cancellation penalty, which was fine. When I tried to redeem my credit, they said there was also an additional "No-show fee" even though I called to cancel 10 days prior, which left a total of $70 credit after all their penalties. I called and emailed to complain but they did nothing but pass me to someone else who was equally unhelpful. I will never fly AeroMexico for any reason in the future."
Pros: "Flight was faster than expected, comfy seats, check in was fast and easy."
Pros: "For a short flight, they gave it drinks and snacks."
Pros: "quick trip, no problems"
Cons: "Left about 2.5 hours late because of a broken seat of all things. Apparently Delta doesn't bother to have maintenance staff on site at the airport."
Pros: "Crew was courtesy"
Cons: "1hour delay from departing LAX runway - not good"
Pros: "Flight wasn't full so the service was very good lots of food and snacks and we arrived early too"
Cons: "Music was a. Bit limited"
Pros: "Flight was delayed for over 6 hours. Not an ideal way to spend the day."
Pros: "Good Entertainment"
Pros: "Boarding was smooth and fast. The crew was helpful with a wheelchair passenger, and get everybody else on board soon after. We depart the gate a couple of minutes early, and arrived almost half an hour early."
Cons: "The first class seat were not much more spacious than the comfort+ ones. Choice of snacks were limited as it was a short regional flight. No overhead or seat back entertainment, but you can stream from the media server through in flight wifi."
Pros: "Gave plenty of food and snacks"
Cons: "Seat didn't recline, no changing station for my child onboard (but charged me a full price ticket)"
Pros: "We barely got on the flight."
Cons: "The boarding "red shirt" saved us. We are a band on tour and thanks to her we made the gig"
Cons: "No seat assignment prior to arriving at the gate"
Pros: "The entertainment console worked this time. Over the past year it has worked only about half of the time."
Cons: "GpldMedallion holder, first SkyPriority people to board, sitting in Delta Comfort and still could not get overhead bin space by my seat."
Pros: "Made up the departure delay in flight."
Cons: "Gate and Cabin crew kept giving opposing reasons for our departure delay, just be up front and honest. Cabin was hot. Very hard landing"
Pros: "Our flight was cancelled and we had to buy $447 worth of Southwest tickets to get home. Our luggage is still missing, by the way."
Pros: "Delta Comfort+"
Cons: "Boarding In-flight entertainment Meal Service"
Pros: "Delayed by 55 minutes in 10 or 20 minute increments as they waited for a crew."
Cons: "Delayed for 4 hours. No honest apology"
Pros: "Seat accommodations were great Gate assignments at airport should be confirmed before the plane arrived"
Pros: "They sat my family together and the crew was amazing."
Cons: "The seats are really uncomfortable and the flight was really packed with all this covid stuff."
Pros: "Crew was Aamazzing! Went above and beyond even to sit with one of kids while I used restroom, put my kids at ease, went above and beyond to make sure at such a tender age that they were okay! Made me very happy with allegiant and happy that I chose them!"
Cons: "It’d be cool to see more inflight services some day? As in maybe WiFi at a cost or TVs, seat recliner"
Cons: "The ticket lady was rude just nasty and upset for no reason."
Pros: "Allegiant is a Budget airline. Good fares and great service. Nonstop service to less traveled destinations"
Cons: "Nothing for the price."
Pros: "There was nothing outstanding really"
Cons: "It’s a low cost airline, so expectations are very low. Plane was very dirty because it just keeps on hopping back and forth without any cleaning service it seems"
Pros: "Everything was perfect. New plane, super clean!! Even though the seats don't recline, they're still quite comfortable. I love how wide the aisle is...people have plenty of room to move around."
Pros: "Price and timeliness"
Cons: "Airline broke the stroller we had. That could have gone better."
Cons: "Be on time, 3 hour delay."
Pros: "All wa great"
Cons: "Lousy airline. Left gate late and unfriendly crew. Wanted to charge me for carry on."
Pros: "somehow after waiting on tamarac for half hour, we still got to Asheville, destination, on time."
Cons: "boarding in the rain, areas to check your bag and check in were so crowded you couldn't even find a proper line calling out names, some of the voices couldn't be heard no one available to answer questions what line a person should get in.som"
Cons: "The $17.00 i paid to insure the flight was not honored. I had some health issues and needed to cancel. I was then told that the airline I chose through your site, won’t honor it. I am furious and am owed my refund."
Pros: "Getting off the bus!"
Cons: "2.00 for water! Overpriced everything! Crew was not nice. Kindness goes a long way. Not for this crew impatient and just rude to other passengers. We pay good money to ride on the horror bus!"
Pros: "Great flight. Great staff."
Pros: "Everyone from desk to gate to crew were very friendly. I like alla carte airlines for thier value. I dont need a free soda for and extra $100 ticket price."
Cons: "Needs better organization during boarding. Everyone piles up near the gate. Thry can copy Southwest and make the process smoother."
Pros: "Pretty empty flight so we were able to change seats. Good thing because my family wasn’t sitting together-$12 to pick or change seats ahead of time. Just be prepared and knowledgeable about this airline and other budget airlines and you will be satisfied. - pay for bags in advance, Try to weigh your checked bags before the airport, Bring snacks or drink on flight - otherwise you have to pay for it. Trenton and punta gorda airports are small, you have to walk to the plane. I love the small airports, no lines , easy parking!"
Cons: "Seats aren’t that comfortable and don’t recline even a bit, tray table is small."
Pros: "Like the small airport quick boarding!"
Cons: "Not lots of leg room, no reclining seats, bummer everything costs extra even water. But ok for price"
Pros: "Plane, staff, made best of bad situation. Seats are only OKAY to Good, but NO airlines are really comfortable so by comparison they were good"
Cons: "The delay - this time not due to the airlines, so thus the good review."
Pros: "Snacks were good but we had to pay for them."
Pros: "Great price. Direct route. Friendly gate staff and flight crew. On time (actually early) departure and arrival."
Cons: "Flip side of departing early is they closed boarding over 30 minutes before scheduled departure (nearly missed flight)."
Pros: "Although we were late to our gate, the Allegiant staff made sure that we were able to board our plane on time."
Pros: "I had 44 min they wouldn't give me my boarding pass then the flight was delayed to 5:30 and they still wouldn't allow me up."
Cons: "Flight delayed 3 hours coming in and 5 hours going back. This is unacceptable. I will never fly Allegiant Airlines again."
Pros: "Flew 2 different legs with Allegiant, both of which were delayed for maintenance stuff. 2nd leg, we sat in the plane for an hour waiting for a maintenance guy, so my wife went to the bathroom. No toilet paper! When my wife asked about it, she was told "we won't be getting toilet paper for this flight." Inexpensive is one thing, but...dear lord!"
Cons: "I flew to my "surprised" 50th bday party with family and to meet more family. The aircraft problems overheated engine, caused us to get out of the plane, move all luggages and wait foe a new plane that also had to be cooled off before reboarding. We were tired and hungry. Missed my bday with family. Very very disappointed."
Cons: "7 hour delay. Giving us delays in increments so we couldn't make a decision to leave."
Pros: "Nothing. We were scheduled to fly back to Vegas at 7:07 then delayed to 8:30 then 10 pm then 11:25 pm now 1:15 am. This is unbelievable, unacceptable and ridiculous! And I have to work the next day. This is unacceptable! I just received another update that now we're leaving at 1:45 am . Please do not, again do not use Allegheny EVER again!!"
Cons: "So many delays. This airline is unreliable, unprofessional! Ridiculous! Please read my comments above. Do not use Allegiant!"
Cons: "2 hour delay, plus a filthy plane with bloody toilet seat, completely bathroom fail."
Pros: "My book"
Cons: "The seats"
Pros: "We were supposed to have boarded for 5:00, flight was at 6pm. They were missing 1 crew member and could board the plane. She showed up, then they made a announcement that the Oakland flight will be delayed till 8:10 takeoff. I was able to get on a flight to Stockton Airport without problem. They wouldnt tell me what was wrong, and i didnt want to chance that it was the last dlight to Oakland and went with Stockton. The flight was good, you have to pay for your water."
Cons: "They would tell me the problem with the plane."
Pros: "The price and the nonstop flight."
Cons: "6+ hour delays Plane looked to be in sad shape, paint peeling, looked bolted together from spare parts. Strange Air Conditioning issues mid-flight that turned the plane into a walk-in freezer. upon landing our entire flights bags were abandoned and there wasn't a single Allegiant representative in the airport to communicate with the airport baggage people. After 1.5 hour wait our bags were finally offloaded onto the baggage claim by an airport employee not normally tasked with the job. Allegiant was paged over and over with no response. I will NEVER fly Allegiant again."
Pros: "I arrived less then 5 hours late"
Cons: "No free peanuts, no free pritzells,no tv show, no movie"
Pros: "At least I arrived to Oakland eventually. A one hour flight turned into a 7 hour wait and flight"
Cons: "7 hours from Vegas to Oakland. I could have driven. I deserve a reufind voucher"
Pros: "I thoughly enjoyed the flight.Crew was great."
Cons: "There wasn't anything I didn't like. ."
Pros: "I didn't like anything about them"
Cons: "They made me pay 100 dollars for two bags that would of fit under the seat"
Pros: "STS ground crew waived goodbye. Love a small town airport"
Pros: "Finally got home!"
Cons: "Flight was Delayed taking off by 2 1/2 hours due to mechanical issues. This flight along with the four hour delay when I flew to Orlando is a disaster. Probably the last time Allegiant will be flown!"
Pros: "friendly staff, good take-off - landing, all that jazz"
Cons: "Not knowing it would be a late take off. Other than that, very good."
Pros: "Having to bug hotel staff to make sure to print boarding passes to avoid a $5 charge for each...having to pay for carry-on bags in advance and then unstuff them in the cramped aisles while boarding because the overhead compartments were too small...flight delays on each leg of the trip...staff that seemed lobotomized...seats that have a bar jamming into your lower back and don't recline.... etc., etc, etc, etc, Plus stupid coporate name and a logo that's hard on the eyes! ALLEGIANT SUCKS from its nose to its tail fin."
Pros: "Excellent flight! Down side no wi fi connection and no Internet, you must buy all food and drink but hey for cost of the trip worth it!"
Cons: "No internet or wifi"
Cons: "I didn't like the schedule time change. Very inconvenient missed some of my planned festivities that were prepaid."
Pros: "It was fairly clean and the flight wasn't crowded."
Cons: "Flight boarded late, $2 charge for water (and it's not even good water), and no free carry on."
Pros: "The attitude of the crew was excellent"
Cons: "The wait due to a maintenance issue was an hour and half extra on the plane before we finally took off."
Cons: "First time flying Allegiant: Head's up! They charge you for EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING and the overall experience is awful. Would you like to know what it's like to fly on a plane bound for extradition to a foreign prison...fly Allegiant Airlines. Would you like to experience the unexpected thrills of being nickeled and dimed at every turn....fly Allegiant Airlines. Would you like the answer to the question posed after paying $100 for two carry-on's: 'could this get any worse?' Answer: It does!...fly Allegiant Airlines. Here's how it all starts out they welcome you to the terminal with a wonderful opportunity to pay $5 for printing your boarding passes (unless you download their app). How could a piece of paper that small that no other airline charges you to print cost $5 you ask? Well that is the magic of Allegiant Airlines at work, if they can't make something simple; both costly and annoying then you aren't flying Allegiant Airlines. You then inquire at the check-in desk can my loved one and I sit together, and they say sure but you will have to do that at the gate. Ok some positive news here...but then it sinks in.. wait a minute what Airline are we flying again? ...Allegiant Airlines, and what is their motto?? If it is simple and easy it shall become both costly and wildly inefficient. You arrive at the gate with hope in your heart and they then tell you, umm no. Who ever told you that is a fool! You can make no changes to your seating this is a 40,000lb aircraft with a 300,000lb lift capacity and it can't handle you sitting next to your girlfriend it would compromise the avionics and we would all surely die. Then why on the app did it show open seats? Seats of course for a price! Not by section like a normal airline ohhh noo a price that was completely different for every single seat as if the seats were in competition with each other in some high altitude economy that makes far less sense at sea level. The helpful response to this inquiry was 'oh well that was then' I am looking at it right now. I don't know what to tell you.. What's next?! A surprise $50 charge per carry-on! Unless you read the small print on one of their emails that is filled with advertisements they make it look like another advertisement, I'm going to go out on a limb and say INTENTIONALLY as it is never mentioned on: (The check-in email, the purchase confirmation email, not mentioned by the ticket counter, not anywhere on the app, not written anywhere on the electronic ticket despite them announcing otherwise) They instead tell you right as you are boarding the plane and have absolutely no choice in the matter and have done this innumerable amount of times as the flight attendant was well versed in de-escalation protocol and a security guard was positioned an arms length away as she deftly charges your card on file... I have run out of characters for this post I can only assume this comment section is run by Allegiant Airlines.."
Cons: "Late flight , now stuck on plane for 20 mins and being moved to another gate . Still on plane"
Nice and friendly service. Quick boarding - ontime landing! 5 out of 5 stars!
Pros: "Got me to my destination alive."
Cons: "I felt like I was on an amusement park ride. Tiny, hard seats Ok for a 3 minute joy ride. Tiny whiff of a tray, not big enough to hold a laptop, but wait, you can't open the laptop screen anyway, no space at all to work: elbows bent, screen facing down. Basically you take this airline if you are OK with a bus-like experience that is shorter and cheaper than riding the bus. The bus takes 1 day, 5 hours, and 20 minutes for USD $153. Frontier (door to door) takes 6 hours (2 hours in air, 2 hours each city for airport and ground transfer time) for USD $49."
Cons: "My fiancé and I have both had awful experiences with Frontier. Both of us have had so many issues with our flights being delayed with no real explanation, apology, or compensation for our inconvenience. This most recent time I was supposed to get to my destination by 8 am and didn’t end up getting in until after 6 pm. The time before I was delayed for 12 hours before they finally decided to cancel the flight. You REALLY cannot expect anything. It’s a cheap flight and absolutely nothing more. You also get charged for every tiny little thing- including your carry on. My fiancé and I have never completely written off an entire company before but we will truly never fly Frontier again. I’d rather pay double the price to fly with a different airline than save a couple dollars and fly with Frontier. Good riddance."
Cons: "I clicked a button in error, called immediately to resolve the issue and was told that I would need to pay MORE than the flight cost to change to a different time that was an option in my initial inquiry. I was forced to buy two one way tickets one of which is the exact return flight on my abandoned round trip. If you can help me get a voucher from Frontier for my abandoned flight, that would go a long way for me to use Kayak in the future. If not, I doubt I'll be back. Very disappointed, this was the first time I had an error where I really needed help and there was none to be had."
Pros: "We were a little early, which was nice."
Cons: "The flight attendants spent most of the flight giggling at the front of the plane, and had to stop and restart several announcements after saying the wrong thing or having to take a break to stop laughing on the intercom. They also gave me a credit card pitch over the intercom, which was really annoying. The plane was pretty dirty, my tray was really gross with white stuff all over it, and the trash in the bathroom was overflowing, so I had to stuff my paper towel in there to get it to fit. I just wanted a cheap airline, but they split up your group unless you pay extra, and you have to pay for EVERYTHING, including any drinks or snacks. Bags were expensive. I ended up paying almost $700 on a flight that was supposed to be about $450. $21 each way per person to sit with eachother, like $50 for a single checked back each way, blah blah blah. Poor experience, and it was MORE expensive than the other flights with bags and seats included. The lines were also extremely long with only a single person at each stand in each airport."
Cons: "It showed in my booking that I can carry a Carryon bag but had to oay ectra 50$ for the same as only a personal item was allowed. I found the service totally unsatisfactory. The website shouldn't make false claims if they cannot adhere to it. I will definitely avoid using this for my bookings again."
Cons: "The flight was delayed over two hours, the crew was pretty nice though"
Pros: "I got to my destination. There was nothing else I liked."
Cons: "Fees are outrageous. Seats are the cheapest have least cushion I've seen. The tray tables even were only the size of a paperback book. It was like I was flying on el-cheep-o air. And the flight wasnt less expensive, I only picked it b/c the time of the flight."
Cons: "They kept pitching their credit card. They charge extra for every little thing (carry ons, drinks), why would I want their card?"
Pros: "FRUSTRATED AT INABILITY TO GET BOARDING PASS PRIOR HUNG ONTO PHONE 24 MIN 22SECONDS BEFORE HANONG UP. ANOTHER PASSENGER SAID IT TOOK HER 40 MIN ON YHE PHONE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!"
Pros: "Simple check in and boarding process albeit a poor process for boarding"
Cons: "With no first class or priority seating, it makes no sense to board the plane from front to back. It creates a jam of people just standing around waiting for those in front. The flight itself was fine, seats don't mean back at all, leg room is minimal and they don't fill in emergency row seats unless you pay $50 for them. Other airlines require they are filled before they fly. This particular flight was very, very warm and stuffy. The air that was blowing from above us was warm/hot the entire flight. Most of the passengers were sniffling and/or coughing by the end of the flight just because of the heat. Maybe it's a ploy to make people buy their overpriced beverages..."
Pros: "Not one thing"
Cons: "My number one issue was the staff. Totally unhelpful and unaware of guests needs. You should not advertise frontier economy tickets to people over 6 feet tall and/or wider than a 14 year old."
Pros: "Yes the crew is normally fine but where I feel most complaints about staff come from out front at check in and at the gate. I downloaded my pass online so I can only speak to the gat for this trip but both of the crew I felt with far more personal than normals (they actually seamed to smile). I still almost missed the flight because they forgot to actually put me on the plane even though the app gave me a boarding pass that got me past TSA. They also have new bundles that make buying a drink more worth it."
Cons: "Seats Don't recline Tray is too small seats are hard (like a sheet on a rock, padding is thin) Paying for a Carry on (even if you do pay, why is it more expensive than a check bag?) Paying for bags each way (why) Not a single employee was at the airport prior to the flight (I was there early and couldn't get help) No Wifi"
Pros: "Seating is not guaranteed (may possibly break up party) unless given additional money at check-in. Charges for bags, and the website is very glitchy (be aware a glitch I encountered charged me $50 for ONE bag, I had to call the airline to pay by phone to correct it). The airline call center is international and the staff are very difficult to understand."
Pros: "It was cheap!"
Cons: "It was cheap. You get what you pay for... I had forgot that there were absolutely NO additional frills with this airline... You get one cup of water and absolutely nothing else. The staff was a nice as can be expected, but didn't look like anyone wanted to be there. And when my husband asked for some hot tea (thinking it would be complimentary - it was not), they got very frustrated. But I would guess they're just victims of their circumstances, so no hard feelings... Still, wouldn't recommend unless you're on an extreme budget."
Pros: "Nothing, nada, zilch, zippo. Horrible airline!"
Cons: "One of the single worst travel experiences of my life. There was a winter storm in Oregon that resulted in me getting to the airport at 6:13p, Three minutes after the 45 minute time limit to check in at the counter for Frontier flights. The flight was originally scheduled to leave at 6:55p. There were already other people there trying to check in and no agent to be seen, thus it seems improbable that somebody was there at 6:10, which is when they were supposed to wait to check people in. Due to the storm, the flight was ultimately delayed until 7:30p, so there was plenty of time to get at least some, and perhaps all, of the thirty plus people who showed up after 6:10, but before 6:30, onto the flight. At 7:15 THREE Frontier agents came to the counter and began working to reschedule the people who were trying to get on flight 784. If ONE of the agents had stayed behind at the gate, this could have all been obviated and we could have gotten on the flight no problem. Instead, the first available flight that they offered to reschedule us on was Saturday, 12/17, and that was not a guaranteed departure. The flight we were supposed to leave on was scheduled for 12/14. It is unconscionable for the Frontier agents to not realize that at least a third of their plane was missing and would be showing up late to check in due to adverse weather. Like I mentioned, all they had to do was leave one agent at the counter to help people out as they arrived, or have a functioning computer system so that we could print out our boarding passes from the kiosk instead of seeing messages instructing us to check in with the phantom agent at the counter. This is just my personal nightmare experience with Frontier. After talking with people after this experience this is apparently common. How they stay in business operating like this is beyond me. Never Again! Consider yourself warned..."
Pros: "I got to PDX alive"
Cons: "Lack of communication I went to the gate to find out my gate was changed. Got to new gate and gate was changed again. 1st flight I went to the counter and the lady there did not call out the gate had been changed. Once I inquired she laughed and then it was like someone hit her on the head and she went oh yeh... Then called it over the PA. At 2nd gate same thing except another passenger inquired and then with her loud voice announced it... Not the person at counter. Flight home oh good lord, people who took our seats were drunk and they were very loud and rude. Guy next to me was drunk and oh my very crude.... Flight attendants ignored the guy next to them and me about the behavior. I finally had to smack the guys hand off my leg and yes it was reported to the attendant who did nothing. Oh and I had tried to check a gun and the guy broke my case, my husband came to get gun and I was told I did not get my $ 35 back for the checked item??? Would like my money back for that one Worst flight and communication ever"
Pros: "The price."
Cons: "No drinks, no snacks, packed like sardines..."
Cons: "Yes they have the lowest fares. But, you pay anyway. The offer nothing! Carry on is more expensive than checked. $35 and $30 respectively. They don't even give you a 1/3 can of soda like other airlines do. Fly ALASKA. Free carry on and I'm pretty sure (not positive, but it seemed like) there's much more leg room for a standard ticket."
Cons: "The carry on price isn't included when you buy your ticket so i was hit with 55 dollars in bag fees both way. Not to mention the fact that we were delayed on the runway because the crew just didn't show up to the terminal, but baggage was also late to the terminal by over an hour. Everyone was also promised a flight voucher and i never got one. Beyond upset with this flight."
Pros: "Nothing. No one was at counter to check us in an hour before boaeding."
Cons: "There are hidden costs (checked and carry on bags plus reserving a seat) which make frontier not as affordable as they appear. The seats are very uncomfortable and now they have no real tray tables anymore (except in the first 3 rows--which you can pay extra for). Additionally, the checked luggage has taken up to 30 mins to arrive on multiple occasions. Frontier has become a terrible airlines that cares more about their bottom line rather than sustaining the customers who are responsible for their bottom line."
Pros: "the ticket was the cheapest."
Cons: "-$30 (at least) for ONE carry-on. Some people had a personal item only. I then noticed that at boarding, the attendent didn't seem to be checking people's ticket and wether or not they had a carry-on. ಠ_ಠ -When you check-in online, they make it look like you have to pay for your actual seat. ($13-30) I was shocked. However, I realized later that if you scroll down all the way, there's a "skip" option. Turns out, you're paying to reserve a seat, versus them automatically picking one for you later. ಠ_ಠ I was a little upset when I realized this. -my tray table was the size of an ipad mini -they've shaved a few inches off of everything, so it was a tight fit. -everything but water costs money. Soda is 1.99 for an 8 oz can. -no tv, no headphone jack in the arm rest."
Cons: "My departing flight ended up being delayed for over three hours. I did not receive one single notification letting me know it would be delayed. Apparently Frontier's system went down. I understand that is out of their control. However, as I sat at the gate, I was not given a SINGLE update as to why or how long our flight was delayed. The gates next to us seemed to be getting updates about every 30 minutes. The flight was supposed to depart at 9:15pm and the FIRST update they announced was past midnight saying that there was a mechanic on the plane fixing a broken seat. We ended up leaving at 12:15 am. I did not get to my hotel in Portland until about 2 am. It was by far the most frustrating experience I've ever had with an airline. I've been a frequent flyer of all airlines for over 20 years....."
Cons: "Frontier cancelled my flight about a week out. The customer service reps I dealt with were slow and alothough they offered me a $100 voucher, they input my email wrong so they couldn't send it to me. When I tried to rectify this again at the airport with another customer service rep, they tried to send me the voucher by email but I never got it. I was told to call customer service again, but at this point I've spent over $100 in my own time in trying to get the voucher. I wouldn't want to have to fly frontier again anyway."
Pros: "I like that the crew worked well together to keep the flight on time."
Cons: "The seats were uncomfortable, and there was no complimentary beverage service. Nothing says appreciation and welcome than some basic service."
Cons: "It's ridiculous they charge for juice or soda when all other airlines its complimentary. The tray tables are the size of a 5x7 photo and the seats didn't recline. It was very uncomfortable and I don't plan on ever flying with Frontier again!! There was no entertainment so not sure why that question is even there."
Pros: "I got to where I was going."
Cons: "Uncomfortable seats, no movies and the seats are all extra payments. You get what you pay for $13 for a seat $35 is the next one up. You can go watch a movie in 3D with a comfier seat for the exact same price. (Tinseltown) honest review."
Pros: "Crew was friendly."
Cons: "Surprise fees for baggage (who charges for carry-ons?). Plastic bucket seats for a flight? Even a cab is more comfortable. Only water for free. After all the extra costs, it's not any cheaper than other airlines. Takeoff was pretty rough and nausea inducing. Would not fly Frontier again."
Cons: "Our flight was 3 hours late. This would have been okay, if we had been able to find any information regarding our flight from Frontier. Everyone was just waiting around the terminal, and had no idea our flight was delayed. Pretty frustrating."
Pros: "great price."
Cons: "When I arrived at the airport (pdx) I was informed immediately that I would be refunded. I knew before hand, via Google, that my flight would be delayed so I checked in at the counter to make sure I would be able to make my second flight from Denver to San Antonio, when I walked up to the counter, they asked for my name and then golf me I would need to be refunded. At this time, I tried to find out if they had another flight to San Antonio only to have the woman helping me ask "do you want me to refund the money or not? I'm about to press send." I'm sure that had the flight actually existed, I would be able to give a better review and I don't really want to mark down the crew for something, I imagine, was out of their control, but I can't give them any stars as my interaction with the staff was very limited to just the ticket counter. I will most likely NEVER fly with Frontier again based off of this experience."
Pros: "Clean new aircraft"
Cons: "Cold and indifferent check in personnel, unhappy flight crews rushing people when in fact the flight departed from gate 20-30 minutes after everyone seated, disgusted at being charged for my carry on in addition to my checked bag (ended up paying additional $160 for trip), charging for "snack" food. I used to like frontier but I won't fly them again"
Cons: "First of all, when I went to check in I discovered that there was a $40 fee to carry a bag on. I was very upset about this, I booked through kayak and had no indication this was the case. Had I known I would have spent an extra $20 and bought a ticket from a better airline. Honestly I would like to be compensated this money.... what happened to transparency in flight fees? From there it only got worse. The plane and staff were terrible. The seats didn't even recline and were horribly uncomfortable. I booked a redeye planning to get some sleep but it was impossible. This was hands down my worst flying experience ever."
Pros: "The independent (contracted, non-fronteir employees) wheelchair assist personnel were excellent."
Cons: "Everything. The young lady who checked us in at the ticket counter should be fired. Rude, uninterested, snotty and unhelpful. Employees at the gate, did not help us at all, and I was in a wheelchair, with a cast on my leg, carrying a crutch and a small bag. No assistance getting on or off the plane. And, the stewardess did not assist me to store my crutch for the flight. Simply pointed at the overhead bin. Using the overhead bin annoyed everyone around me it took up so much space, and it was a full flight. The seats were terrible,no padding, I sore after an hour and had to stand on and off for the duration of the flight."
Pros: "Great staff a board the plane."
Cons: "Difficult time finding a opening available at terminal due to arriving a few minutes early."
Cons: "Frontier is the WORST airline! Hidden fees for everything imaginable. We paid extra for the "extra room" exit row seats and they were less comfortable than the regular seats because they don't recline and had less cushioning. At DIA Frontier only has one baggage carousel that they share with Spirit Airlines, so we had to wait for our bags with 6 other arriving flights. Then the baggage carousel got jammed because they over filled the belt. Stayed at the airport an extra hour and a half after we landed to get our bags."
Pros: "They were on schedule."
Cons: "They lost my checked bag and exhibited poor communication between members of the baggage team. They lost bags from more than one flight. I filled out a lost baggage form and went home. At that point I had to call them repeatedly over 3 hours before they would answer the phone. Finally they said they had the bag and would deliver within 6 hours. Right now it is the next morning and the bag is not yet delivered. The boarding process had me--with a window seat--board AFTER the 2 other people in my row got seated."
Pros: "I liked the price and the fact the flight was nonstop and relatively short."
Cons: "I rated the service poor because upon boarding the plane and sitting down, I noticed my 20 yo son somehow did not make it onto the plane. This became concerning when it became apparent that everyone had boarded and he still did not appear. I approached a flight attendant about it, letting her know that I was concerned that my son had not boarded. Her response (apparently because I was not hysterical) was "well you don't seem too concerned about it, so I won't be." I was very taken aback by this and ended up - with another flight attendant's permission - leaving the plane to find my son who it turned out was held up at the gate for a reason that was resolved."
Pros: "Safely from point A to B. Didn't have a POS terminal at the lavatory, which will likely be next."
Cons: "Loss leader fare, $35 per checked bag, $40 per carry on, but mostly having paid apparently only for the privilege of standing in the aisle, to have to pay extra (anywhere from $13 to $50 per seat assignment) to sit with my loved ones rather than just random seating. Seats so tight, that don't even lean back, felt like one of those chickens in the trucks on the freeway. Doing the math, this fare was actually more expensive than choosing an airline that actually serves human beings. As stated above, at least we didn't die, but at such levels of "economy" I was not confident that we would even survive the trip, thinking that the the pilots must be of the same quality. Please use a more honest business model, until then, we will not use you again."
Pros: "We made it safely."
Cons: "When you check in online, Frontier makes it seem as though you must purchase a seat or there's no guarantee that you will have one - even though I selected one during the reservation process. Only beverages for purchase were made available."
Cons: "Flight was delayed. I got 6 different emails with 6 different times. I called the frontier phone number to change to a different later flight. While they were willing to do so , I was told if ours did get cancelled we would be put on that flight probably anyway. I was told that staying with that flight I would be compensated with a voucher. I told him the gate agents said they didn't do vouchers. He insisted that they were going to die to the great inconvenience. We finally departed after a 3+ hour delay. Sure enough, NO vouchers, just a "sorry for the delay" as we got off the plane when our flight was done."
Pros: "Newer seats, so I guess that could be counted as a plus for this trip."
Cons: "Ticket counter person in PDX was very rude. Our seats were 'upgraded' for a red eye flight, behind one screaming baby for 75% of the flight, and another next to us that constantly was kicking us. The male air flight attendant enjoyed to hear himself talk so much, that between him and the amplified screaming baby, sleep was not possible. I asked for water, but since that was the only free thing, they were out of it and the male flight attendant sound get me some of their was time before we landed....that was 25 minutes into a 3 and a half hour flight. In his defense, I did get my water just before the plane started its descent. And the last point, girlfriend's brand new suitcase was covered in him when we picked it from baggage claim. Instead of just refunding us the baggage fee, no, we now have a claim open for Up to $50 to get it cleaned. Spend the extra $100 for ease of mind and fly a real airline."
Pros: "Not much. 2 hour delay."
Cons: "These new seats are disgusting!"
Pros: "What I could hear of the captain, he was at least since guy."
Cons: "Worst airline ever. You nickel and dime us to death for every single thing, including just to sit on the plane and have a bag, and the new economy type seats with the tiny tray are very uncomfortable. The crews are rude and treat you like trash for not purchasing extra or applying for the stupid credit card. You can't hear captain announcements, rough flights and landings. Unexplained, multiple delays that inconvenience all the way around. TSA harasses you in front of everyone about even just having a regular size duffel bag. I can't even list everything. It was the worst flight experience I have ever had and I will never fly Frontier again."
Pros: "The crew were nice enough"
Cons: "The entire process felt like a money trap. I got these tickets because it look like an affordable way to visit family, but every step of the journey had surprise fees, from selecting your seat, to checking luggage, and even having a carry-on bag. Literally every other airlines I've ever been on offers at least one complimentary drink and a bag of bad pretzels, but Frontier charges three dollars for a bag of bad pretzels and and two more dollars for a drink. When it turned out that I had to pay for the seat I just went and paid for one of the better ones and even those are massively uncomfortable-- there's slightly more legroom but even the "premium" seats have almost no padding, don't recline, and are uncomfortably narrow. Overall I won't be flying Frontier again."
Pros: "Boarding the plane was nice and we arrived about 20 minutes earlier than expected."
Cons: "I wasn't aware that I had to pay for a carry-on and seat placement until I checked in for the flight. There was no complementary snacks or beverages, you have to pay for everything. It was a bit warm even though the overhead fans were on and the seats were really hard to me and sat up to high. Overall I felt really uncomfortable especially with this being my second time flying, but first time flying with Frontier. I probably wouldn't fly with them again unless the price was right including the cost of luggage and seating. For the price that was paid I could have flown with another service and have everything mentioned above included with comfort."
Pros: "The staff were very helpful and as accommodating as they could be, given we were stuck in the Denver airport for a day."
Cons: "I couldn't believe all of the extra fees they charged- If you have a bad past your purse, expect to pay 80 dollars extra, regardless of whether you check it or not. And expect to pay $40 extra if you want to sit together. I went in unaware of the extra fees- if you know that, you might not feel as cheated"
Cons: "Was very annoyed to find a carry-on baggage fee at check-in . Was not clearly disclosed at point of purchase."
Cons: "This was by far my worst and most rediculous experience when flying Frontier. I've been to the Portland airport before, so I'm aware the security line is never too long, so I figured after dropping off our rental car getting in the airport at 7:00 when our flight leaves at 7:40 was no problem. We arrived, to check in and check our bag and the kiosk said see attendant. Only problem was, there was NO ATTENDANT even at the desk! They put up a sign that said check in desk closes 45 minutes prior to take off. What kind of airline closes check in desk before the plane leaves?!? We tried to get help from other airport attendants, who agreed we had plenty of time to get through security before our flight took off and thought that was rediculous as well. There was even a man who said he was at the check in desk at 6:40 (One whole hour before take-off) and no one was there to check him in. Finally after easing 45 mintues trying to get a Frontier attendant paged by Airport Help Desk, we all missed our flight. Finally a Frontier attentant came around, and said she couldn't do anything for us and we would each need to pay an additional $99 a piece to re book on another flight!! It takes a lot for me to get upset, but when I know I could have made my flight like 4 different times but I couldn't because I couldn't even check in to get through security...that's BS!!! And to be forced to pay an additional $99 to rebook, on top of already having paid for my round trip ticket, just totally proves that Frontier doesn't value their customers at all. I have been a frequent Frotier flyer these past few years, and after my experience, I realize it's worth it to pay a bit extra to fly with people who value you and dont try to scam you multiple different ways to make more money off you."
I think it is lacking some normal customer service like free water and wifi.
Cons: "This company is a scam. You pay a extra fee for everything Printing your boarding pass that will be $10. oh wait you want to take a carry on bag that will be $45. You want to check in a bag that will be $45. If you do decide to check in a bag or a carry on make sure the demensions and weight is correct there will be another fee for any luggage that doesn’t fit their rules. Make sure you get a drink in the airport ahead of time because once again they charge for standard drinks while on the plane, the extra charges just never stop! In all reality it is not worth the savings in plane ticket because of all the additional inflated prices they get you on."
Cons: "VERY unclear baggage rules - meaning I paid $100 extra for a checked bag after booking, and then also unnecessarily paid an extra $55 for a backpack at the airport because there was not notification on-screen that it was allowed as a personal bag. I then could not get a refund at the baggage counter because they don't do transactions. I am now trying to work out how to get a refund from Australia. I would have been better off taking any other airline and it would have been cheaper than these extra fees. I am so disappointed."
Pros: "Nothing, never got on the plane."
Cons: "I was stuck in traffic before the flight and arrived approximately 50min before the flight. By the time I finished fighting with the self check-in machine and talked to a person, it was about 45min before the flight and I was told I was too late and the plane had already boarded and was full. I asked if I could get on the next flight, but I was told the next flight from LAX to Oakland wasn't until 7AM the next morning. I wound up having to buy a last-minute, one-way ticket on American Airlines just to get where I was going. The man at the counter was very rude and dismissive about the whole thing."
Pros: "No delays. Boarding was efficient but not much else. Very basic."
Cons: "I wanted to bring a bag as hand luggage and had to pay $46 each way. I've flown loads and this is the first airline who has charged for carry on."
Pros: "I liked that my flight was on time, boarding was organized and swift, the staff were friendly. I had a very short flight and most of the basics in customer service were met."
Cons: "Even though my flight was short, my pilot for the departing flight was a bit out of control for both departure and landing. There was no wind when I got to my destination which made me wonder why the pilot was so out of control with landing. I ended up vomiting on the plan before descending. (for my return flight I took Dramamine and the pilot made me feel safe so no troubles upon return) Also, I did not appreciate that if I needed water, I would have to purchase it. There are not many places in the USA where I HAVE to buy water if I need it."
Cons: "I have been flying since I was 5 years old. THIS WAS THE WORST flight (experience) thus far! Flight and boarding on time, BUT THE MOST ANNOYINGLY UNPROFESSIONAL FLIGHT CREW took over once on the aircraft. This made the uncomfortable crampped overpriced for what you're not getting flight a nightmare. There was horrible turbulence as well, which the airline is not responsible for; However our captin did'nt address the passengers at all. And the completely UNPROFESSIONAL rude chatty and hard to understand screeching non english speaking voices from two women kept coming over the speakers disrupting what little peace one would try to focus on while being jolted around like on a rollercoaster. You some people were ACTUALLY motuon sick, scared, and nervous BUT they didn't stop talking long enough to notice. I only noticed the men working with passengers to maintain some calm by displaying professionalism."
Cons: "After flying a dozen times with a suit bag and a backpack that fits under my seat, I've never had a problem The lady checking tickets gave me an ultimatum, either you fit your suit bag in your backpack, or you have to pay $59 for a carry-on bag. No ticket checker has ever said this to me in the past. She was rude, direct and didn't leave me with any other choice. She ignored me after she gave me the ultimatum, while I'm asking if this was a new policy. She gave me the cold shoulder. I was very frustrated, luckily the suit bag fit in my backpack. Then when I got on the plane there was so much space in the overhead bins, so I took out my suit bag and placed it in an overhead bin while the crew was watching. The crew didn't say anything. Your teams need to be more persistent with policy."
Cons: "I've read bad reviews about Spirit airlines, but I was on a budget and decided to take my chances. It was a very small plane, which meant tight quarters during a 4.5 hour flight. I have a disability and deal with chronic pain and usually need to carefully plan out long flights so I arrive with minimal pain, but the seats were very small and moving about the back cabin was impossible. When I asked for a wheelchair I wasn't granted my request right away because I was told I didn't register online. I've always requested a wheelchair when I check in with major airlines when I arrive and have never been given a problem. Also, I didn't realize checking baggage would cost so much! No wifi available a very turbulent flight and they even charge for water. It wasn't the most horrible experience, but if we pay for a cheap ticket, expect substandard service. This will definitely will be my last time with Spirit Airlines."
Pros: "1) Friendliness and openness of the crew 2) good legroom (we paid extra for it)"
Cons: "1) web site charged our credit card to check a bag, but at ticket counter the agent insisted there was no record of this. We had to pay again to check our one bag! Now, we have to pursue a refund. 2) boarding pass was unreadable by the TSA scanner. 3) ticket agent didn't know the seating on the plane; insisted that we had reserved a window seat, which proved false. 4) seats very uncomfortable; no lumbar support. 5) surprisingly costly baggage fees, which erased the initial ticket price advantage. 6) $9 club name is misleading -- sounds like it costs $9.."
Pros: "Some of the Spirit crew did try to assist me and the other passengers."
Cons: "I was unable to check in online and when I tried to use a Kisok I was told to talk to an agent. i waited in a very long line, was told I might not make it and that they wouldn't hold the plane for me (or the five other people who had the same problem as me) but if I made it through security in time we could. When we all made it to the gate they closed the doors and wouldn't let us board even though we were there before takeoff. (One girl was even there before they closed the doors and they wouldn't let her through. Spirit changed our flights to the next available plane (11hours away) for no charge but I bought a new plane ticket with another airline."
Pros: "It got me to my destination is the only positive thing I can think of to write."
Cons: "I disliked that if I didn't prebook my suitcases online ahead of time I'm charged a larger fee at the desk even when I'm a club member with the airline. Then I was told to pay my overage weight fee online and that isn't an option on the website. So when the person at the desk went to charge me she said it was $50 when if I'd have just paid for 2 suitcases online it would have been $10 cheaper. I also think it's crazy to charge customers for a cup of water on the flight especially one that's 3.5hours long. I get the airline is cheap and offers cheap flights but to nickel and dime customers for even water is crazy. The seats were also very very close tofether so that your knees are almost crammed into the person's seat in front of you. My husband use to be in the airborne unit in the military and said those flights with all his gear and no frils was more comfortable than this flight. I highly doubt we'll ever use spirit airlines again unless it's the only option or if it's under 1.5hrs to fly to my destination. I'm not sure I could endure must longer of a flight on their planes."
Pros: "Departure was on time, Flight was pretty smooth. Arrived & landed a few minutes early, but had to wait/taxi for from 11:12p -"
Cons: "Kois was not working. So machine printed out a ticket that said see agent. We proceeded to a sign that said Agent Assistance & stood in line. Waited in line for about 15 minutes, then an agent announced we were in the wrong long & to stand in a different line. We and other Spirit customers experienced the same treatment, very rude & no positive spirit from Ticket agents. We were in line for an additional 30 minutes before we were called to receive service, get our boarding passes. We were not Preassigned seats & had to proceed to the gate counter to get our seat assignment, but there were no Spirit Agent present. There were about a dozen customers waiting in line but was not serviced until towards the end of boarding. As a executive manager of a non-profit organization I had to be observant, & not once did the 2 female agents smile or seem to be happy to assist their customers with enthusiasm. When we entered the plane, the first male flight attendant did not even acknowledge us & several other passengers as he was on his phone texting. The value of Spirit was definitely NOT experienced today."
Pros: "Other than my issue, Spirit airlines was a pleasant to fly with. Comfortable, good crew."
Cons: "I didn't like that I had to pay for a carry on - since I had a roundtrip flight, not only did I have to pay a $60 fee for a carry on, but I had to do it twice. That cost me twice than the flight ticket itself. Normally flights allow for one personal item, which I had in the form of a backpack, but I also had a carry on, which carried the rest of my clothing since I've been traveling around the States. It would have been nice if the airline included the potential cost of a carry on when I purchased the ticket rather than surprise me with two $60 fees for my one carry on bag."
Pros: "I enjoyed nothing"
Cons: "After being told there was a mechanical issue with the plane (already nerve-wracking) we waited an hour to receive any additional updates. The flight crew then told us that the flight was "99% canceled." After that, everyone in the area got up to wait in line, but instead of helping people rebook their flights immediately, the flight crew just disappeared and never came back. I ended up re-booking with a different airline and had to call customer service in order to have my money refunded for that flight. I did receive two travel vouchers, but I'd rather just have the $100 because I'll never book with Spirit Airlines again. Not to mention the literal 280 emails I received the exact same email update over and over and over again telling me that my flight was delayed until the next day. That's right, they never canceled (as they should have) and just delayed it further and further. If I had just waited around for updates from the delay, I would have had to spend the night in the airport and miss work the next day (which I already had to do because I had to rebook with another airline). Thank GOD I didn't have any checked luggage or I really would have been screwed."
Cons: "The fact my flight was delayed, they wouldn't let me check in after their computers froze at the airport and caused me to miss the one hour before cut off time limit to check in. They made me take a different flight the next day and charged me a $25 fee to do it all because they wouldn't check me in and therefore had to miss my flight. The fee for having a carry on bag is redic since they have the room like any other plane for it in the overhead compartment. My new flight the next day was delayed also (over 3 hours) so I took another flight so I didn't miss my event. Spirit then cancelled my return flight days later because I skipped the outbound flight, they auto cancel all of your future flights. So I then show up in the morning to the airport not knowing they cancelled my flight, they don't tell you in any way, stranded and told I have to buy another ticket back for almost triple the price. The story goes on and on, absolute nightmare. I wish I would have known or gotten a refund to ease the blow."
Cons: "I would strongly consider adding warnings regarding spirit's iperation; I experienced 5 plus hours of delays on oak to lax flights; they aren't communicative, have horrible customer service and absolutely refuse to acknowledge they failed to meet even a minimum standard of care. One thing to have delays due to weather impacting all carriers; in this instance on both days all spirit flights were late, no other carriers impacted. I rarely respond to this sort of prompt but I fully expext at least a refund of my fare."
Pros: "Refunded my ticket with no issues"
Cons: "First, they cancelled my 8am flight at 10pm the night before with no notification. I happened to see it and call to rebook on the next flight, but if I hadn't been checking the flight status I'm not sure what would have happened when I got to the airport. Then, the 10am rebooked flight was delayed for over 2 hours - with basically no communication from the gate agents and no updates to the expected departure time. Ended up getting a refund and rebooking on Southwest - which was a perfectly smooth experience, huge contrast to the clusterf*** of flying Spirit."
Cons: "When buy through kayak link it takes you to the spirit page, where there's no spot to put in get TSA Precheck. When do all through phone, the boarding pass on the screen doesn't actually scan - only airline in the world where you still need a paper copy. After 50 mins in security line, the phone bar code didn't scan (can't use phone for spirit). Had to leave to get a paper boarding pass. Missed flight. I fly at least once a week every week. Have never missed a flight in my life (probably bc I had never flown with spirit before). Missed this flight! No refund, no airline credit (even if I got the airline credit I would let it expire to avoid flying with them again). Literally worst user experience I've ever had with an airline."
Cons: "We were on a multi city trip when our flight on Spirit was cancelled. The only options were take the flight the next day, get a refund or a travel voucher for another flight. In reality none of these options were acceptable. We ended up having to take the flight the next day which required us to send additional monies for another hotel night and an additional day car rental. Spirit refused to absorb any of the additional costs involved in the delay. They also refused to try and rebook us on another airline to make our arrival at the next stop. Customer service is a complete joke. Spirit did not notify us of the cancellation. Our host at the hotel on our next stop notified us that the flight was cancelled as he received notification from the limo service. This was as we were driving to the airport for the flight that was cancelled. The nickel and dime approach to make up for the lower airfare was ridiculous and petty. We have not been treated so poorly by any airline in the past and we travel frequently."
Cons: "We had a medical emergency at the airport and had to go to the hospital and missed our flight. Our sons needed to go home. The attendant at the desk split the boarding pass and told us we could fly out the next day with a hospital release. I called Spirit to book for the next day and was told it takes 48 hours for approval. I told her we could not stay for two more days that we needed to get home so my husband could get additional medical attention and she said there was nothing she could do. Long story short- if anything goes wrong with your booking on this airline, in which everything is an additional cost, they will not help. We booked with another airline to get home. The Spirit experience was stressful and I would never fly with this airline again"
Pros: "Nicole at Spirit corp who reversed the charge."
Cons: "Kayak didn't mention the luggage charge at all. Then Spirit didn't send me the required email though I called twice so by the time I got it the charge was fifty BOTH WAYS. I got that reveresed by corporate but the ticket counter people were AWFUL and uncaring and not just to me. Everyone in line was saying they would never use Spirit again. One woman was charged eight dollars to get a seat next to her toddler! Awful gouging airline. It costs one hundred dollars if you don't know and bring a suitcase to the plane without paying days before!"
Cons: "Plane was downgraded last minute and because there were less seats about 40 of us had to be re-booked on a flight out the next day. They comped hotel + food + cab expense and gave a voucher for a free ticket that had to be used within 1 yr, booked within 60 days. But it was overall shitty experience. When I went to use food voucher the next morning in the airport Coffee Bean they told me they didn't take them. And the hotel wasn't too close to the airport so more time spent in cab plus the hotel was sub par."
Pros: "Efficient boarding is the only good thing I can say."
Cons: "The crew was nice but pushy. On both flights they kept focusing on people's bags under their chairs with unnecessary persistence. Since Spirit doesn't really offer anything at all they just stood at the front of the plane after flying through with the cart that only offered something you have to pay for. Then at the end, annoyed everyone trying to sell them the credit card. Both flights were over an hour delayed due to missing mechanic paperwork. The flight was not cheaper then other flights but matched up to the times I needed - (After the delays, not really) and so I booked. Totally forgot I was going to get charged an outrageous amount for my carry-on. This airline is a crock. AVOID."
Cons: "I payed nearly twice the sticker price with all the hidden fees. What they don't tell you is that they charge for carryon and luggage, and are allowed to change those prices whenever and to whatever amount they want. They tried to make me pay to print my boarding pass, and both my flights were delayed one by 20 minutes, and the trip back by over an hour and a half. Both the planes I flew on were old and outdated and they don't even offer water without a price tag. Never going to fly with them again."
Cons: "No complimentary drinks, snacks, or entertainment. Even on a 4+ hour flight, the most they could offer me was a cup of ice. No water, juice, soda, pretzels, peanuts, etc. If you wanted ANYTHING, you had to pay for it. Also, they charge $55 to bring a carry on and $50 to check bags. On both departure and return, I tried to do self check in at the kiosk, but error messages came up both times (despite accepting and charging my credit card) telling me to wait in line to see a cashier. So trying to take initiative and doing self check in was a waste of time and I still had to wait in line afterwards. Very dissatisfied with my experiences on Spirit Airlines. Flight was also late to take off, but there was no announcement revealing to updated expected time of arrival."
Pros: "Nothing at all. They changed our gate back and forth several times."
Cons: "Wasn't clear that you have to pay $50 each way for your carry on. This made my $100 ticket 210 with the tax from the carry ons. Just didn't make sense to me thag i paid more to fly a bag than I paid to fly myself. No logic here and if it would have been clear before I purchased i wouldn't have booked with spirit airlines. You also have to pay for any beverage or food on the plane as well as pay for your seat on your plane. Essentially you buy a ticket to have the opportunity to buy a seat on a plane. Again no logic."
Pros: "I am scared of Flying. My son sent me a ticket to spend the First Christmas with his 10 Month old Twins! Although his gift was my Ticket, he still had to pay a substantial fee to check one bag. When I looked at my email from Spirit, I saw that I even had to pay for my Carry-on!! I tried to communicate that to my Son, but he was getting conflicting information from phone calls and Spirit online. Finally, after much angst, He had an agreement that my other Son who spent the days before Christmas with me, would take care of the Baggage fees at the airport when he drove me on his way back to New England, if needed. A substantial fee WAS then needed for the carry-on. Traveling on Christmas, and trying to save money on a flight was my goal when you are being given such a wonderful gift, but it was difficult for me to see the cost go up and op each step along the way, that increased what my sons had to pay on my behalf and the time and communications they had to go through (they are a Doctor and a Professor), in order to do something so nice for me! It is great that Spirit has low fees, but carry-on fees outside of the ticket price are particularly troubling and not being able to have water or my trusted Diet Coke on a flight from LA to MD on a Red Eye without paying for it is extreme! Your Pilots and staff along the way were GREAT and Helpful I have flown many, many times here and abroad, but I have never seen 4 sets of Pilots any better or more competent on take-offs and landings than your Pilots! They have been trained well. I have to go on another trip to OR in July for a special event. I live on a fixed income, and would fly Spirit again based on my experience."
Cons: "The obscure Tag Ons along the way. Your communication is not absolutely CLEAR to the person buying the INITIAL ticket from Spirit or another ticket servicer like Kayak. Costs for 1 Carry-on and Water and soda should be included in the ticket Cost."
Pros: "- The leather on top of the plastic seats - Small tray tables (I actually like the size)"
Cons: "- I get you're trying to make Spirit "FUN" and I'm a Millennial who works in advertising so I'm assuming this is part of your Brand but everything from cabin announcements to safety procedures to flight attendants asking for trash, attendants FORGETTING ON THE INTERCOM FORGETTING WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO SAY "I forgot what I was going to say, my brain isn't working today" - it bordered UNPROFESSIONIAL - and personally I felt it was trying too hard, flat jokes - it looks SLOPPY not "cool" - SERIOUSLY $36 for a carry-on each way?! MOST EXPENSIVE FLIGHT TO PORTLAND I'VE EVER SPENT IN THE PAST 10 YEARS. You tack these one AFTER we purchase the non-refundable flight. It's deceptive my friends/family and I all vowed to NEVER FLY SPIRIT AGAIN and we go up to the Pacific Northwest every year. - Plastic seats - the person behind had their knees were against my seat because the space is so small - he felt bad - I felt bad - and there was leftover trash in my seat"
Pros: "We showed up to the airport for a flight from Oakland to LA and the agent notified us that our flight was cancelled. This was on December 23rd, and they told us they could put us on another flight on December 25th! We were returning on the 26th so that was entirely unhelpful. They said the reason for the cancellation was weather in LA. But none of the other airlines were having any issues with their flights. We were flying at 9am and there was rain in LA at about 7pm. They offered to refund us, which we accepted. I was expecting to have to harangue them to actually get our money back, but the refund came through unprompted about a week later. We did not get reimbursed for our cabs to/from the airport, or for the cost of driving to LA."
Cons: "I got this ticket thinking that it was the final price. I got to the airport, the counter folks were very un-organized and un-attentive, took a while to get to the counter. Then was told i have to pay $50 for checking in my bag, otherwise will be $100 at the gate!! Not wanting to miss the flight i did not argue and paid and went to the gate. I had no idea that the charge was this high. At the gate and in the plane there were many passengers with the same bag as I had!!!! The counter people did not tell me i can take it the plane, they forced me to check the luggage in :-( First and Last time on Spirit airline for me!"
Pros: "The crew was always attentive and responsive."
Cons: "It was very difficult to check in on line. it took me over one hour. Wanted to get my sits and when I took the option there was no sits to select even when paying for it. I checked my carry on and I kept having the offer to be part of the club to pay less for my carry on. I did not want to use the option but I keep being sent to that side. The same experience I had when tried to check in in my flight from Oakland to Chicago on Friday. since the web site did not let me check in I had to check in at the airport. There was an accident in the freeway and I ended up losing the flight from Oakland to Chicago because the website did not let me check in the night before. We arrived 45 minutes before the flight and they have the policy to check in 45 instead of 30 minutes before the fight like other airlines. We did not even get options or credit. We just had to buy another flight. It was a nightmare."
Pros: "That there was a Virgin Loft flight club in the terminal, only used it because of the Spirit delay"
Cons: "Front counter is rude. I don't know if they just had a front counter person having a bad day but I've never experienced that with any airline. Then there was a flight delay of a minimum 2 hours due to a bad windshield? Great keep us safe, but good luck with finding someone at the gate or a service counter to give you an explanation of why it's delayed. Instead just wander aimlessly around the terminal looking for a Spirit employee. I then went to the Spirit website and it shows the flight as "on time", really?? At least give me an app or website that's accurate so I don't have to sit in front of the gate for 2 hours. When booking through Kayak there is no mention of pre-purchasing checked baggage so I was stuck with a $50 fee at the ticket counter! This is definitely not the "low price" airline unless you truly "travel naked". Save yourself some grief and ignore Spirit as a flight option."
Pros: "I was quite surprised at check-in to find that checking a bag cost $50 and a carry-on was an additional $55. I travel frequently and usually the first checked bag is free or $25, and a carry-on is free. I booked on Kayak and didn't see any notification that your additional fees were so much higher than the industry standard. It appears that your business model is to attract clients with low prices, then hit them with hefty additional charges at th airport, when it would be difficult for them to change plans. It worked this time, but I will never fly Spirit Airlines again. I suggest that you reconsider the way you treat your clients."
Cons: "I understand that Spirit intentionally gives minimal additives and services but I feel they can be a lot more transparent about what they do and do not provide. I felt very uncomfortable on my trip back for the following reasons. 1. Tray table was half the size as a normal tray table. I was trying to do work on it with my small computer and it kept falling off and into my seat mates lap. 2. There was a flight attendant named Duron who made a few comments that made me feel very uncomfortable. I felt he was inappropriate. When collecting trash he walked by my aisle and commented to the person next to me (he was reading the New York Times), "Anything about Trump, or Kill-her-y, Killary, Hillary in there?" And laughed. I was shocked that someone, especially a professional at work would say something so volatile and frankly, violent. On his second round he again came by and asked if "Trump was in the paper and worth reading. Killary in there? You can guess who I am voting for." While people in the back row laughed and the man next to me nervously laughed. I felt very uncomfortable and felt he was inappropriate. I plan never to fly Spirit again after this experience. I hope that you can address this issue with your quality assurance team and to Duron. It can't continue. Thank you,"
Cons: "Up charge on everything. Rude customer service. Can't check in at the counter at least at LAX. Missed my flight and had to wait 7 hrs because only 3 of the 12 kiosks were operating at the agents wouldn't let me check in at the counter. By the time I got my ticket printed I had 43 minutes till my flight left. Waited in line just to have an agent tell me I was 2 mins too late. Last check in is 45 mins prior to flight and I had 43 mins left. Complete BS. I will not fly Spirit again. If you think I'm exaggerating read other reviews. Good luck!"
Cons: "The staff was rude from check-in to on the plane. The charge for my suitcase and weight of bag was ridiculous and never have I ever paid that much for a suitcase. My bag came back broken and open and I am missing few things from that pocket. I am very disatisfied with your team and my customer service and extra fees. I will never fly your airline again and could have definitely flown cheaper with a different airline. I believe you should put in bigger and bold type that people can not include purse as carry on and backpack because I had to put my purse in my bag to check it which meant my bag weighed more costing more. My flight was more than an international flight which is absurd. Your website should disclose that information more clear."
Pros: "Flight took off on time and arrived sooner than scheduled. The price was rock bottom. Staff was courteous. Spirit is budget focused and does everything to make flying simple and low cost."
Cons: "No usb outlets to charge your phone. They scare you into thinking that if you have carry on luggage they will charge you an extra $55 each way on their check in system. I took mine and wasn't charged. Upon entering the cabin, it was warm. The air conditioning was intentionally turned off till take off to save money-not a big deal for me but could bother others. At end of flight, we have to shut the windows closed for the next shift to keep it cool-strange. If you are over 6ft tall or are wide bodied don't fly coach on Spirit. Seats are thin plastic and cushions are not forgiving or adjustable. If you are a college student or young family, this airline is your best bet to stay on budget if you have high tolerance. If you are more business/lifestyle/social vacation traveller, try paying an extra $60-$90 more and the travel part will become part of what makes you smile instead of what you try to tolerate."
Pros: "Boarding was alright, pretty quick and that's about it."
Cons: "Well let's start at the check in, so I got to an airport about 40 minutes before my boarding(usually what I do when I fly with Southwest), went on to check in my bag, once I got there the receptionist was extremely rude, as well as uneducated on the layout of the gates, as soon as my bag got checked in she threw it off the scale and told me to move on as soon as I asked her why she is being so aggressive with my baggage. Then when I was boarding there were no smiles by the crew, the seats were extremely uncomfortable, and I was waiting for a water for about 15 minutes asked a crew member again and she responded with "You are not the only passenger here, I will bring you your water once I'm done with other passengers" and for the 15 minutes I did not see her help a single customer. I am so disappointed in this flight that I am not flying with them back, instead I spent just a bit more and will fly out of Chicago with a different airline. Avoid spirit airlines at all costs!"
Pros: "I am Physian, I arrived at Oakland airport at 1pm for my flight at 1:47pm, I could not print my boarding pass because of a stupid policy that states 45 minutes is the cut off. After a humble plea to the staff who were really sooooo rude especially the supervisor Maria, they told me there is nothing they could do. I was so disappointed cos I was meant to be on call. I had to but a last minute one way ticket with south west that was boarding in 25 minutes. ...experience was like night and day, better and more courteous staff. Anyway,I will never fly Spirit again. It's not worth it."
Pros: "Gate person was very helpful got us on the flight early and we had great seats I am 6'4" my son who was in LV for basketball is 6'11" and she was great."
Cons: "At check in for our baggage it was a very long wait Michael who helped us put us on standby for an earlier flight gave us new boarding passes did not see that I had paid for a carry on bag so my boarding pass did not have a carry on. I also had a very hard time checking in for our flight and printing the boarding pass as the web page was down for almost 24 hours I wasted many hours trying to print the boarding pass and was very surprised about the charges for seats baggage and printing the boarding pass."
Cons: "After realizing how much extra I was going to pay for "buying" my seat, boarding pass, and my luggage, my checked bag weighed 2 pounds over. Well, there's another $25. I was pulled for a second security check which I guess I can't blame Spirit for but only after getting to my destination tonight did I realize that something fell out of the bin when the officer took my things to scan it again. Good bye cute make up bag. The flight was delayed and the gate changed several times before we actually boarded. Seats were very crowded and you had no room to move. Thank goodness it was only an hour flight."
Pros: "The price was great, and I am ok with having to purchase baggage and other stuff in advance, though charging $50 for a carry-on is a bit excessive. I would definitely consider using them again for very short flights (2 hours or less). Staff on the red eye was kinda cranky, but the return flight staff was friendly. Departure and Arrivals were right on for both flights and the pilot made sure to warn us of turbulence in advance."
Cons: "While I understand the concept of the "ala carte" method of traveling, it really was not clear that none of the seats actually recline at all! I will NEVER use Spirit for a "red eye" flight ever again (or any flight over 3 hours)! The amount of money saved wasn't worth what I have ended up spending in chiropractic care afterwards from having my back seize up on me from the uncomfortableness of those seats and trying to sleep sitting straight up! We decided to upgrade to an exit row for the flight home just to have some extra leg room, but still with no reclining of seats (the only 4 seats that recline were already taken)..... the comfort level was not there at all, other than at least our knees weren't bumping against the seat in front of us, like on the red-eye."
Cons: "This trip was lousy. The ticket taker called everyone up to board 45 minutes early and the plane wasn't ready to board. The on board process was lacking in courtesy. The seats are WAY too narrow. I had an aisle seat and the stewardess knocked me in the head every time she passed which was over 30 times. The pilot announcements left me concerned for my safety. The flight attendants were required to yell annoying advertisements for 15 minutes even though the flight is only 75 minutes. And some weird teen sitting behind me kept putting his head between his knees and head butting the back of my chair. Flight crew couldn't care less. The best part of the flight was getting OFF!"
Pros: "A good male flight attendant whose name started with M."
Cons: "I arrived at the airport more than an hour and a half before the flight. The wait for check in was incredibly long. It appeared that there were 5 employees at the counter but only 3 were checking people in. The TSA line was also very long and when it appeared that I was going to miss the flight, I expressed my concern to a Spirit agent who referred me to TSA who referred me back to Spirit. We were told we'd be re-ticketed at the gate. Finally, a large group of passengers who were in the same situation just moved to the head of the TSA line explaining our situation and enduring hostility from some of the other passengers. The gate was far away and I'm not able to run. The plane was held for us but the experience was MISERABLE. Spirit needs to have adequate staff to check people in and needs to press TSA to do the same. I've never had this experience on any other airline and I travel a lot and have for decades"
Cons: "Spirit attendants at check-in misdirected me multiple times due to a glitched boarding pass that they would not explain to me. Then, when I got to security, they couldn't scan my pass because the toner level of the printer had been low and the code came out fuzzy. Then, at the gate, there were no attendants around, so I went looking for one. When I returned to the gate, the gate had closed, which resulted in my missing my flight. I missed a full day of my trip thanks to your poor service, and after calling customer service multiple times with absolutely no result, I will be taking my story to social media and never flying Spirit again."
Cons: "Both flights were substantially delayed causing havoc in the schedules of those picking me up. They have this carryon policy that anything bigger than basically a handbag, you are charged $55 each way!!! This added $110 to my flight!!!! I ending up paying more than my other more sane and professional options. I should of flown Southwest. Then on the loudspeaker in the plane, they talk about what a great airline they are and that you should apply for their credit card. I have to say not one person filled out the application even though you got frequent flyer miles."
Cons: "Because their ticket counter was backed up and the machines were not working I got my ticket late, because I got my ticket late me and 10 other passengers missed boarding. We arrived when the plane was still there and connected to the walkway. They refused to let all of us board even though my sister was told that they would hold the plane for 5 or more. I had to fly to San Diego and then pay for a new flight on southwest. SOUTHWEST IS THE REAL MVP. Take my advice, never fly spirit. Also, 50 bucks per luggage per way, so one bag totaled 100 to fly it."
Cons: "I dont see that I would ever use Spirit again. You book a ta low fare and incur many costs that build up and nearly double your fair. may as well book on another airline and get what you wanted in the first place for the same price. The staff were unprofessional, disrespectful, tired and unkempt. And the flight was delayed, and we were never given a reason. I needed to change my return flight. I was instructed that i would save money by doing it on line. I would have saved NO money, and was able to easily book a new fare for less money with another airline. #NO-Spirit Airlines"
Cons: "Our flight got cancelled due to mechanica issues (not their fault) but then they had virtually no systems in place to deal with the situation. There was no dispersing of information on our options by the single present employee. We had to contact their corporate offices by phone which was a nightmare in itself, and even then they gave us the run around telling us we had to wait 36 hours for the next flight (although legally they are obligated to get us on a flight within 24 hours). You get what you pay for and these budget tickets came with budget customer service."
