They are much better overall for sure. The food and staff were excellent! The food quality is very good compared to the other airlines. The cabin crew are always passing around water and chocolates throughout the flight. They were friendly and helpful as well. The pilots were also very good. We had no rough turbulence and their landing skills were amazing."

The boarding process was chaotic at the gate - customs were there to check in but quite a few people were unaware (not many announcements). Also, the Economy boarding process wasn't clear and chaotic (i.e., not by row and you also didn't know when you could board. Also, the person in front of me kept reclining her seat and it went back too far. I didn't want to do the same to the person behind me so it was quite uncomfortable."

Cons: "Found my business class seat given away to a lady with a dog. Mine was window but with extra table next to aisle. She had aisle seat but with exactly the same configuration. Idea was she would place the dog on the table space next to her seat. It would be exactly the same for both seats. Do not know what they were thinking. There were other business class seats on the other side that had the table space ext to the window away from the aisle. That would make sense for the lady with dog. Business class was full and I was the last to get on, 45 minute connection in Zurich from terminal A to E, my seat was given. But as I objected, they moved the dog lady and gave me back my seat. But they never asked a person in the seat that would have made sense to give her to trade seats."

Last person walked into the plane 10 min after the scheduled departure time, as a result the airport delayed our departure by 50 more minutes."

Pros: "The crew on Swiss Air is very welcoming. The food was pretty good and there was frequent beverage service, so you don't get dehydrated like on other airlines."
Cons: "The seats decline fairly far back into the next seat. As a result, some of the passengers got agitated if they do not go with the flow and decline like dominoes. Both legs of the flight we had the people seated behind us kicking and shoving our seats. One gentleman was kicking my seat for a couple hours and made a scene on the outgoing flight. The stewardess addressed the gentleman and explained that I had to decline my seat because the seat in front of me was declined. My knees were jammed into the seat in front of me, so every time the gentleman kicked me, it not only hurt my back, but my knees. The couple behind us on the return flight jumped the line to get onto the flight, kept kicking our seats and then pretended they did not understand when we asked that they stop. I think the pilot should address the issue upfront so this toddler like behavior does not go on. I am not sure if it is common behavior, but not something I have experienced on an American carrier."

Pros: "Easily the most comfortable I've ever been in TATL economy. Lufthansa's 747-8 is set up strangely: the main deck is arranged First - Business - Economy - Prem. Economy - Economy. This means that if you can book a seat in the forward economy mini-cabin, you get dedicated cabin crew, no other passengers walking through your space to get to the bathroom, plenty of bin space, and – best of all – a lot of aisle space to stretch your legs. Row 16 aisle seats are especially good, as the bulkhead between J and Y doesn't extend all the way, and therefore you can stretch your feet out. Food was actually excellent (for economy), hot and flavorful and generous, with snacks available mid-flight. Beverages also tops – gotta love Lufthansa for offering Campari (!) and more than one wine choice."

Boarding and transit security in Frankfurt was anxiety-inducing – between getting to the US departures area and additional screening, it took more than an hour from deplaning to getting in line. Boarding w/o group numbers was an exercise in patience. And the terminal wifi is so spotty!"

Pros: "I have a servere hearing problem and was concerned (since we were late leaving Zurich for my changeover in Frankfurt), that I would be late because I can't hear any loudspeaker systems (either on planes or in airports). I felt that I could get easily lost between flights and not have time to get to the Frankfurt/Denver flight. I told this to the person at the gate in Zurich, and he immediately arranged for someone to meet me in Frankfurt and take me there. I was met by Maika in Frankfurt and she was just excellent--personable and efficient and really helpful. I'm sorry I couldn't remember the name of the person at the gate in Zurich. He was also great. I wouldn't have done this if I had had more time, but this really made my day (and my flight!) ! Thank you!"

Pros: "The Lufthansa crew in Munich was very helpful when my boarding pass would not go through - I was not told I needed a new pass for that flight (as the first one had been cancelled and rebooked: 2 Air Berlin flights). No one was of help until this point, and the Lufthansa crew even offered to check on my baggage for us only to notice it never left Berlin; we didn't get it for 3 days. This did not surprise me because last time I flew Air Berlin for an 8 day cycling & camping trip, I didn't see my bike for 5 days (you can imagine this sort of ruins the entire point of the trip). After reading a lot of complaints with Air Berlin and never hearing back from their customer service (ever) after numerous forms filled out, I knew checking our bags with Air Berlin from the start would mean we wouldn't see them in New York. I even said to the Air Berlin employee at check in that I refused to check my bag because of my past experience and he "assured" me my bag would be at JFK when I got there. Ha. It was nice to see the Lufthansa crew shocked at how poorly this trip home was working out for my husband and I."

Cons: "I have never had a such an awful flight, it all started from the registration where i was told to pay for the overload of baggage eventhough my husbands ticket had not been cancelled and he was not with me, so I lost the pay for his ticket and extra money. It seems to be unfair and unreasonable taking extra money for the baggage in this situation. I have experienced the worst flight ever paying for the seat with extra space where it got very cold. The five blankets were offered with a pair of sox and I used them but it didn't help. The air condition was blowing very hard and eventually I have cought a cold. I strongly advise all potential customers of Lufthansa to stay away from seat number 27 on that plane."

Cons: "Many of us onboard had tight connection times yet we landed way across the airport from connection terminal, had to take a slow bus, endure even slower security screening, then sprinted clear across the terminal for the connection, all compounding the stress level. Someone needs to put some thought into better organizing this. By comparison, flight to destination on Swiss was a pleasure, connecting gate right next door to arrival gate, no worry, no rush, no stress. Terrible food, barely edible. Snooty, rude flight attendants. Lousy movie choices. Belive me, if I had a better choice on price and scheduling I would take any airline before Lufthansa. Horrible."

Cons: "Flight took off from Zurich on time. Circled Munich for 45 minutes then went to Lintz (??), tiny little airport in Austria. LH said it was due to icy conditions, however, looking at the airport website, no evidence of any other flights being delayed. Was this plane even suitable for the flight? Then put on a bus and driven to Munich - 5 hours! On my way to LA, so then put on a flight to Mexico City leaving at 11pm, to connect with flight that would finally arrive into LAX at 2pm. So, over 24 hours from Zurich airport to LAX. Ridiculous."

I told the crew member checking us in that other people that was checking in with the same hand carry size luggage with us had no problems taking it with them. For being about to be on a 17 HOUR FLIGHT we should be ALLOWED to have our carry ons with us! We take carry ons for that reason! I had to argue and prove my case to the crew member to atleast keep 1 carry on with us. I thought that was an UNACCEPTABLE reason for us to check in a carry on luggage when we had a 17 hour travel time ahead of us. Not a happy costumer here."

On my short flight from Basel to Amsterdam, a young French speaking girl was concerned about how to manage getting to her next gate. The flight attendants talked to her and arranged for someone to take her there. On my longer flight from Amsterdam to New York City, there was a customer who was in distress about missing a previous flight and not making it to her connecting flight in New York. One of the flight attendants reassured her until she stopped crying and calmed down. That same flight attendant was always so positive and cheerful in all she did. The rest of the crew was top notch. This was my best experience flying in such a long time. Well done, KLM crews of flights 1984 and 0645 on July 10!"

Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating, great in-flight entertainment, although I have the go-go in-flight data/entertainment plan with t-mobile (highly recommended), the flight included a decent selection of movies, television programs, etc. The food far exceeded typical "airline quality," even for an international flight - and included a fabulous little snack box with locally sourced gourmet and specialty items such as chocolate from Belgium, fine cheeses from France, and crackers from England. Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."

Partially due to the fact that they have 787 Dreamliners now, in which the seats are wider and are reclining more than before, the leg room is bigger, the air quality better. The crew members are very professional,not overly sweet,yet caring and understanding,especially when you are flying with small children.As to those complaining about overcharged luggage- read the rules people! If you go over the maximum limit of 50lb for a check in, let's say 2lb,they won't charge you,but don't expect them to close their eyes when your luggage weighs almost double that!"

Cancelled our outgoing flight hours before it was set to leave; notified us via email; barely got re-booked via different airlines and had to take 3 different flights to reach out destination; missed the 2nd flight because LOT put us on a flight that was departing 30 minutes before out 1st flight arrived. 2. When we got another 2nd flight, we arrived at our final destination without our bags. LOT assured us that our bags were on our flight before we boarded but calling and confirming that they were able to transfer our bags (only had 40 minutes between flights), but of course, it was a complete lie. We did not get our bag until the next day in the evening over 24 hours later. At that point I was happy they found them and gave them to us. 3. Turns out, they cancel flights pretty often and they also book people on transfer flights that are too close for people to make it. We traveled with a handful of other passengers that had the same experience and people were in tears about their horrible travel experience. 4. Warsaw Airport - they only have 5 passport control officers clearing travelers and because they don;t have lines or any type of organization of these travelers, the lines our out of control. People are pushing each other, crying because they are missing flights or not feeling well because of no air and all the pushing and shoving. I was pregnant standing in the line for over 40 minutes. They would not let pregnant passengers or passengers with kids with them pass in their disabled line. Only people in the wheelchairs were allowed to pass there. Horrible airport and even more horrible airline! PLEASE SPARE YOURSELF AND DO NOT RUIN YOUR VACATION."

During boarding there were groups of people who had all been split up and were desperately trying to switch seats with others. I was traveling with a 15 year old, and even though she is not a small child it was very nerve wrecking to be seated 20 rows behind her, not being able to keep an eye on her (even more so because she gets car sick and has thrown up on airplanes before). I don't think I've ever flown where my group was not at least seated in pairs. This was very disappointing."

This made for an approximate 6 hour delay, with minimal comfort, food, water, info or sympathy throughout, nor an offer to switch our flights and/or provide night accommodation due to the 5+ hour delay on this evening flight (as is within our passenger rights.) The plane finally arrived to JFK way after 1 a.m., which completely ruined weekend work and social plans, not to mention how exhausting and disrespectful of an experience it was. PLEASE NOTE THAT EVERY SINGLE OF THE FOUR LOT FLIGHTS I'D UNDERTAKEN THAT WEEK WERE DELAYED IN A SIMILAR FASHION - AS IN, WITH LITTLE INFO OR EXCUSE. No, thanks, Lot - and you should refund us all."

Cons: "KEF airport is not well managed - boarding areas have few seats, and process is cumbersome; flights leaving near same time are all boarding from same area. Airport amenities- food, shops are very nice. Also, our flight was delayed (it happens) but caused us to miss our next flight. No there was a snafu with one of our bags not arriving/being on a different flight. We recovered it, but we're not compensated for delay/missing a flight."

Cons: "The inefficiency at that airport puts a third world airport to shame. Airport too small, passport control is a brutal scrum. No seats anywhere and all connecting flights are delayed! There aren't enough signs to help to get to your gate, very few bathrooms. The food is terrible and obscenely expensive! Never again for us!"

Pros: "Nice to have free beverages, USB outlets, good customer service."
Cons: "Not enough leg room; had to switch seats so family could sit together; meals still cost extra on international flights"

Pros: "Flight over was satisfactory."
Cons: "The terminal in Reykjavik was dangerously crowded at the "D" gate coming back. They charged me for food and a glass of wine on the return trip but not on the trip over. ???? The flight back was 1 1/2 hours late."

Cons: "Iceland air canceled my flight due to technical problems with the plane. They also transferred me to another airline but for some reason we're not able to reroute my baggage which is still currently lost. It also added an extra day to get to my final destination and Iveland Air offered nothing as far as a hotel voucher or anything!"

Cons: "No food served on an international flight. Boarding was unorganized."

Cons: "Transfer between flight was very chaotic and terminal appears to be makeshift --- but i guess it's an improvement on NAS Keflavik."

Cons: "Yet another delayed flight. All four legs of my NY - London trip via Reykjavik were delayed over an hour."

Cons: "Not enough space for a 6 hr flight. Also flight was delayed and still had to pay 6 bucks for cheap headphones."

Cons: "1 h delay from Zurich to Reykjavik Service at the check in counter in Zurich was the worst ever"

Pros: "The 50 minute delay in departing Zurich meant I might have missed my connecting flight, but Icelandair held all the flights so that we could make our connections. Crew were very good; seemed to like their jobs. Really dislike boarding via steps on tarmac and cramming everyone on shuttle bus to the aircraft."
Cons: "Having to pay for food."

Pros: "I needed assistance with a wheel chair, which I had never needed before... How wonderful everyone was..."

Cons: "system was not working properly on my monitor"

Cons: "Plane over 1 hour late taking off. Never communicated why the wait. NO PLACE TO SIT AT AIRPORT!!!!! Cold hard cement to sit on with major construction going on. Standing in line almost 2 hours because of no updates. So we had no idea when plane was ready to leave. So we all felt like we could leave to go get food or coffee. Then we finally get on Plane and the entire entertainment system is down. No movies or way to charging phones etc!!!!! For a 6 hour flight that was so frustrating!!!! Then you would think that Icelandair for all the problems would at least comp our meals and drinks!! NOPE!! Pay full price. Flight attendance were great! But we only doing what they were told. I would not take this airline again."

Cons: "1. USB charging port not working 2. entertainment console not working (flight staff offered limited iPads to use instead. By the time I asked, they were not available anymore) 3. on top of these, couldn't find a place to plug my laptop It's really a bummer for such a long flight. Totally opposite experience from my last flight before the transfer (also from Iceland Air)."
