Cons: "There is none"
Cons: "Sun Country should warn the average family and business traveler if they intend to cater to drunk 20/30 yr old adults on the first leg of their Florida vacation. Instead, 2 of the flight attendants joined in the loud chants and cheers. The flight attendants attitude was disappointing, and unprofessional. Their motto should be "Party Plane". About 12 loud and obnoxious party goers made it a miserable flight. One flight attendant asked them to quiet down. Two flight attendants joined in with the partying and yelled and chanted along with them. One flight attendant ignored the situation."
Pros: "Plane was comfortable and modern. Crew was terrific."
Cons: "I could not use my phone app to check in! The airline attempts to charge you to $20 per person for online check in if you want to pay for baggage on line. You can, but then additional fee for seat selection is charged. STUPID! Instead, they must keep more counter agents for people like me who refuse to pay more for a seat I booked. Why can't you be like United. Let me check in and select my already paid for seat online and pay for my bag ahead of time! Then all I have to do is get my baggage checked at a kiosk and drop it off with a baggage agentband go through TSA and to my gate. Keep it simple stupid Suncountry."
Pros: "The crew were nice and professional and efficient"
Cons: "We had to deplane and switch to another aircraft after boarding was complete the first time. We arrived almost two hours late, in the middle of the night, I was really hungry by then. Some complimentary snacks or something would have gone a long way to making it up to us. I had screaming children behind me and I know that's not entirely the airline's fault, butthe delay contributed significantly to the children's misery and thus ours, and the in-flight announcements were way too loud; they woke them up abruptly and started tantrums in several places throughout the cabin."
Pros: "The flight crew was pleasant. The refreshments were great along with the carry on bags and seat selection when buying tickets."
Cons: "The plane was to hot. There were lots of passengers complaing about the heat. We also had to wait on the runway to take off for 40 minutes. The course of the flight was also uncomfortable due to certain passengers that wouldn't cover their mouths when coughing or sneezing. I even offered the individual cough drops and they had denied them and continued hacking. Then when landing in Orlando we had to wait to be taken to our gate. We were told that we were supposed to go to gate 97 but there was an American Aircraft in that location so we had to wait for another gate for 20 minutes. I know those last 2 events aren't really under the control of Sun Country, but still it was a pain."
Pros: "I generally like sun country so I hope the feedback gets heard because you are usually my favorite airline. Notification early about flight delays we good."
Cons: "Flight 103 was supposed to be at 1:30. Delayed at 10 or 11 am to 3:08. A little in the day to have a major delay putting us into Vegas right at rush hour with higher taxi pricing and headache. Once we were at the airport the delays continued. We didn't finish boarding the plane until after 330. And then had to sit on the tarmac while they tried to squeeze us in. Then landing you could tell we were circling airport while they tried to find a spot for us to land, either that or it was a bad route because it involved a lot of sharp turns. We landed almost two hours late, which for a 48 hour Vegas trip is harsh. All we got in return was an apology. Usually other airlines will at least give you the full can of pop or something minor to off set the bigger inconvience."
Pros: "The way they treat the passengers with care."
Cons: "there was no entertainer Chennel"
Cons: "Flight was 2:00 hours late, which felt even longer because my in-bound flight on Thursday was 1:30 hours late. They didn't really explain why it was late. They just said "traffic in the NYC area," which could mean anything. I didn't get a ticket until the gate, which I hate. And because the flight was delayed, I never got a ticket until we boarded. The only good thing was they gave me an exit row, which was comfortable and allowed me to get on the plane first. But that was just luck. Probably not flying Sun Country again."
Pros: "The staff was friendly.... but other than that, it was a terrible experience and I will never, ever fly with them every again. Actually, a group of thirty or so of us are filing a civil law suite for how we were treated."
Cons: "We were left at Waco Regional Airport at 1AM and transporation was not arranged util nearly 430 in the morning. There was no sun country staff to assist with travel arrangements. We were abandoned at a closed airport for hours. Eventually, I got the one and only uber still running in waco to drive me at 330am from waco to dallas. There has been no reinbursement of fares or compensation for lost wages, time and the general annoyance that being awake all night long caused. If you would like to know more information, please feel free to contact me via phone 972-765-0570"
Pros: "The headrest were nice, no neck pillow was needed because of how I could adjust it. Checking in was very quick and painless, something I appreciate very much. Drink service was nice, they did come around more then expected. The staff was very nice an accommodating , very friendly when we boarded the plane."
Cons: "Seats were very uncomfortable. I brought my husband for his first flight and I had told him how comfortable flying was, but when we boarded the plane he was a little horrified about the seats. He said, "they look like metal skeletons with pleather stretched over them." Yikes, I was a little embarrassed for telling him how comfortable he would be. I usually fly coach and I guess I was surprised not to find better seats and screens for movies attached to the back of the headrest (that sounds terribly spoiled, sorry)."
Pros: "Friendly staff and affordable ticket! Plane was on time."
Pros: "Crew was friendly and plane was on time"
Cons: "Deboarding took awhile and I couldn't hear the captain over the speakers"
Pros: "The boarding method went the quickest of all flights I've been on for both flights. Check-in in MSP was quick and some of the attendants were friendly based on what I overheard. Staff in SAN was friendly."
Cons: "A new mom was in the aisle walking to keep her baby quiet and to stretch her legs (after the drink, snack, and trash carts had gone by) and had her back to a flight attendant also coming down the aisle. She was talking to another parent on the flight when the attendant came behind her and told the woman, "Excuse me. Some of us are still working." Her tone was suuuuper rude and uncalled for. A friendly "excuse me, please" would have been just fine and would have gotten the job done. I went to the bathroom a couple minutes later and the attendant was on her break and eating, so maybe she was hangry, but still! Seats were uncomfortable on both flights, but not as bad as Spirit Airlines. I had bad low back pain afterwards, even after getting up to walk partway through the flight. This is something I've experienced on a couple other airlines too, but the legroom on planes has gotten worse. For those of us with long legs, it's a huge pain. I'm 5'9", so I can't imagine how it is for someone taller. The legroom on Sun Country was just as bad as other flights. Probably a strange complaint, but the seat back pocket had a bar running in the hem, so when I put my water bottle inside, the entire pocket stuck out as far as my water bottle. This meant I had to choose between having the pocket rub against my knees or hold my water bottle between my thighs. Neither were ideal. The check-in in San Diego was painfully slow. There were three people standing there, but only one person seemed to be checking people in. The staff was friendly here. A Sun Country employee at MSP told a man he had to check his carry-on suitcase because the wheels stuck out of Sun Country's tiny metal carry-on test box a CENTIMETER. I kid you not. Absolutely ridiculous. I saw much larger luggage come onto the flight. The woman who checked me in was quick but I wasn't able to ask any questions before being sent away. No free snacks or entertainment which seem to be included on most other similarly priced airlines. The food for purchase (burgers and Jimmy Johns or something) made the plane smell bad. I asked for coffee with cream and sugar as my complimentary drink and was given the powdered creamer packets. Fine, okay, I understand if that's all they have, but then I saw them walking through the aisle later offering coffee and they had creamer cups in their aprons! No one asked me which kind I wanted. :("
Pros: "Crew was very nice"
Cons: "Not much to dislike, fast flight"
Pros: "Cabin temperature was closer to a comfortable temperature than the flight to MSP."
Pros: "Left on time, landed early. Comfortable seats. What more can you ask for on a flight."
Pros: "It was a direct flight."
Cons: "We were late departing and arriving, which created a problem for a meeting I had to attend. On top of already being late the exiting of the aircraft was poor. No announcement was made for wheel chair people to wait until the end, and naturally held up the exiting of the aircraft. This was my first experience on Sun Country and the flight attendants allowed people to use the bathroom in the front of the aircraft, but at hour 3.00 when i walked up to use it - i was then told to go to the back. After I watched many people for HOURS freely use it. Not just when the cart was in the aisle either. Just not consistent in their directions and follow through making it confusing for passengers. There was no wifi, so I couldn't work and there was no entertainment on board. I won't be flying Sun country again."
Pros: "This was my first time flying SunCountry, and I felt like it was significantly better than most domestic airlines that I have been on. For example, I would choose to fly SunCountry before Delta or United ANY day. So thank you for a pleasant flight."
Cons: "My ticket was flagged for security reasons, and was not discovered until I was boarding the flight. As a government employee, I completely understand randomly checking passengers for TSA. However, the gate agent refused to tell me what was going on or even say that I needed to go through security again. I didn't mind that I had to do this...everybody has a job to do. But I did not appreciate the rudeness of the gate agent. I also did not appreciate that TSA did not catch the information on my ticket when I went through security almost 3 hours prior to the ordeal. While I understand that this sounds like a TSA issue, my issue is more centralized with the gate agent. She was nice enough to talk to the pilot and hold the flight for me, since clearly I wasn't a security concern and I was cooperative...however, her attitude and refusal to explain to me why I had been stopped at the gate was unacceptable. When I passed through screening (because obviously I was not a threat), she didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. I still have no received a full explanation for what exactly happened...my best assumption is that it was a random flag on the ticket for passengers. Her lack of apology and lack of reasoning for the situation left me confused, and delayed the already delayed flight by another 40 minutes. While I reviewed the Boarding as "OK" given that I was still have to get on my flight, I am nervous about flying SunCountry again due to the way the situation was handled by the gate agent."
Pros: "The crew was great--very pleasant and attentive. Flight was smooth with an easy landing."
Cons: "At the Sun Country desk in Minneapolis they told me they couldn't check my bag all the way through to San Francisco because they didn't have an arrangement with Virgin America. I learned in Las Vegas after claiming injury checking my bag that they do have an arrangement, and that agent just didn't know about it. Kayak should never have allowed me to book a ticket where I had to re-check my bag and go through security again without a big warning, so I'm unhappy about that. Additionally, it seems like Sun Country needs to get his ducks in order regarding baggage agreements. The change in Las Vegas was stressful and involved switching terminals as well – not ideal."
Cons: "Had a rehearsal dinner for a wedding to attend I missed because of a delayed flight"
Pros: "Nice flight attendants."
Cons: "The flight was about an hour late taking off and boarding was interrupted part way through the process so there were some people sitting in the plane for all this time and some people sitting inside the airport boarding area for all this time. No explanation whatsoever was given about what was going on. The aisles on the plane were so narrow that I could just barely roll my carry-on bag down it. The head of the guy sitting in front of me was almost in my lap. I couldn't even lower my tray table all the way down to a flat position to set my beverage upon because his seat was so close to mine. When the flight was almost to its destination, we had to circle the airport for awhile because Obama was landing at this time too. We were never told of this possibility until it actually happened. Why not ? We arrived about an hour and a half later than our scheduled time. With all these inconveniences to us, absolutely nothing complimentary was given to us passengers to make up for their incompetence and how our travel plans may have been disrupted. This was a bad experience and my last with Sun Country."
Cons: "Terrible boarding/gate crew and process."
Pros: "On time, efficient boarding"
Pros: "I liked the time and direct flight from MSP to Boston."
Cons: "From the time we were waiting for the plane, the attendants at the airport gate came across rude / and threatening when asking for people to check their carry-ons. While we had no carry-ons it was very striking as I have never heard this kind of communication in decades of traveling with different airlines. While on the plane, we sat in the absolute back seat, and also caught "attitude" of attendants when they communicated to one another about the carry-ons they were holding for the agent. Eye-rolling and tone. These frustrations should not be aired to customers."
Pros: "Easy access to loading helpful customer service checking in great service on plane . The attendants were so pleasant. Loved the whole experience."
Pros: "Efficient boarding"
Cons: "Crowded Would like a bigger glass of water"
Pros: "fast and good services"
Pros: "I would like to comment on a flight attendant named Jordan. Once beverage service began, she was an ideal flight attendant: bright, effervescent, personable, attentive, even solicitous. But..."
Cons: "...in the hour preceding beverage service, she sat in the rear galley and talked NON-STOP. She seems to have a very strident, penetrating voice. In fact, other passenger (not me) even asked for quiet so that he could sleep. In her defense, she cut the volume in half, but that wasn't enough to keep the back rows from overhearing her running commentary (maybe it's the fault of the acoustics in the back of the plane) on a thousand inane topics—when does the woman breathe?. I'm certain that she was hired for her sunny, outgoing personality, but she needs to realize that passengers who board a plane for a 7 a.m. departure are looking to make up for sleep lost to getting to the airport in time for TSA. Until 8 a.m. sullen and silent would be preferable to nice but noisy."
Pros: "Booked this flight months before I took it on KAYAK. Got to the airport and saw the sign that said "ask about our affordable upgrades". I asked and it was totally affordable. I bumped myself up to 1st class on both flights for $280 total and it was absolutely amazing. The flight staff was so attentive, the food was great and they were not shy about making sure I was getting enough to drink. Overall, this was a great airline that seemed to actually care about the people on the plane as opposed to other 1st class experiences I have had where people try to get the most out of you for the least amount of effort. Sky Country took the time to make me feel like I was worth it and that made all the difference. Would 100% recommend."
Pros: "Ticket and gate agents were very helpful."
Cons: "Flight boarded late."
Pros: "It went well"
Cons: "Nothing to complain about"
Pros: "Staff were friendly, at the curbside check-in, ticket desk, gate and on the flight. The airport had free (but slow) wifi for 45 minute sessions. There were tables by the gate (MSP H1) where you could sit down and charge and work on your laptop. The plane was full so they offered passengers to get their bags checked for free (and gave them priority after first class & families with infants) The person at the gate was able to change my middle seat to an isle seat. At least during the delays we were not in the plane sitting on the tarmac but in a reasonably spacious terminal."
Cons: "They advised that I needed to be at the airport 2 hours before the flight, when I am used to 30 minutes with no check-in luggage. The best online check-in didn't work. I was inexplicably 'restricted' so I needed to speak to a supervisor in order to check-in (maybe because of the problem with online check in? They couldn't tell me why). The outbound flight was delayed two hours. There was no free food or snacks on the flight, only a cup of soft drink with ice (a third of a regular sized can), so I just chewed my ice for the remainder of the flight. There was no entertainment nor wifi on the flight. They also seem to have some unusual rules - no laptops in the seat back pocket, no alcohol unless it is purchased on board, no use of cellular devices after the door is closed (flight safe mode ok)"
Pros: "The flight attendants were kind, the flights went well. The price was pretty good."
Cons: "I was disappointed that the price only dropped since we purchased our tickets. Usually they get more expensive as you get closer to the flight date. Also, I didn't know when I booked that there were fees to check luggage - that's why I specifically chose Sun Country over Spirit. I also was led to believe that I had to pay for a preferred seat online, when they hold free seats to be assigned at the airport."
Cons: "More selections for lunch and breakfast.....cheeseburger isn't a healthy option"
Pros: "Flight was comfortable and well done. Plane was clean."
Cons: "The boarding process was chaotic. It started late and the gate agents (one in particular) seemed grumpy and frustrated. I have seen before that SunCounty boards First Class before families will strollers/infants. However, this was a flight to Florida so full of small kids. It would speed up boarding to get those people into the plane to set up car seats, small kids etc. Also, the boarding was hectic enough that the gate agent forgot to board small children, they did pre-boarding, first, exit row, then started with rear seats. There was confusion and all the families rushed the gate. could have been managed much better."
Pros: "Sun Country's customer service was amazing. Our flight to Mexico everything went well and we were treated well. Our flight home from Mexico we had to change. My wife became extremely ill and under the direction and OK to fly home from Doctor Gonzalez It was in my wife's best interest to leave Mexico early. On phone your Reservations person was wonderful and helpful in giving us our best options. We followed her directions and when we got to airport the gate agents and , a personal wheel chair person, were amazing . Our wheel chair person for flight 572 - 2/26/2016 was your best advocate of what your customer services is. She knew every phase of the operation of your Airlines. she represented your Airline very well. She loves her job and does her job superior to others. In Mexico they made the process of flying home easy for us. We were so afraid that my wife would not be able to go through the process but they treated her so gently and lovingly and made sure we got home stress free. They treated both of us like they knew what we had been going through and knew just what to so to make us feel special and at peace. I must say your Mexico agents are well trained and professional. They made sure that we were well taken care of as well as the other passengers. We were at the Airport early and I had a chance to view how others were treat, wondering if it was just us that they made feel special, It was not just us they made everyone feel special. I just can not thank your Mexico team on the morning of 19 February 2016 enough. We are truly truly grateful. When we arrived at our home in USA a wheel chair again was waiting for us at the aircraft door to take us through customs and to a cab. Again our wheel chair person again was amazing in making sure my wife would be OK through the customs process. THANK YOU SUN COUNTRY WE ARE VERY IMPRESSED WITH EVERY ASPECT OF YOUR CUSTOMER CARE. WE ARE EXTREMELY GRATEFUL. John"
Pros: "Our flight was ahead of schedule even though we boarded a little later. The staff was friendly and the flight was calm and quick!"
Cons: "Nothing to complain about. It was a fairly short flight so I didn't use the food or entertainment services"
Pros: "New plane crew was friendly and pleasant"
Cons: "Charges for luggage, time of flights"
Cons: "No free snacks"
Pros: "The first leg of our trip was fine, and we were able to check in right away."
Cons: "The second leg (out of MSP) was a disaster. You have to pay to check in online, so everybody decided to do it at the airport. As a result, we waiting an hour and a half to check in (completely unexpected) and would've missed our flight if they hadn't held the plane (since everyone else was late checking in too). It was very stressful, and they didn't tell us that they would hold the flight, so we thought we were going to miss it. Not a good experience for our first time flying with Sun Country :("
Pros: "On time. Smooth flight."
Cons: "Terrible seats in last row of plane. Could not get seat assignments until check in at the gate and they put us in the last squished row. Do not understand why we could not choose seats before then."
Pros: "Great staff!! Flight was very comfortable."
Pros: "Good pricing on a newer aircraft with fairly good seating choices. This was only my first part of my roundtrip and overall not a bad experience, just some minor inconveniences."
Cons: "Seemed to be quite a few delays and changes, but that maybe was the holiday season. Everything is priced except water, I would have chosen Delta or Southwest if I had known that a pillow costs $5 and no free crackers or condiment snacks. My advice to take here would be... grab your drink+snacks BEFORE you leave the terminal and keep it in your bag, as well as anything to help sleep with. Several of the Flight Attendants seemed like they were "working their job" but were not happy about it, and their manners seemed to reflect this. I will probably give a followup after my return flight."
Pros: "This was my first time flying on SunCountry. My departure from JFK was a nightmare . You could not preprint your boarding pass and no Kiosk at the terminal. The line to get your boarding pass was long and slow. It took so long many passengers had to be escorted to the wheelchair TSA security check point in order to still make the flight . I still wouldn't have made the flight if some very kinds people didn't allow me and 10 other SunCountry passengers to cut in front of them SunCountry does not have TVs but rather rents out for eight dollars portable entertainment systems. It was great to kill time for my flt to Minneapolis . However when I wanted to rent one on the return flight, I was told that they had given them all to the first class passengers. Knowing they don't stock enough for us common folk I would have brought a magazine or book to read. It was the longest most boring, arduous flight I have taken. I guess I'm accustomed to all the amenities and conveniences of JetBlue"
Pros: "Clean and comfortable plane. I'll be flying you again."
Pros: "I reserved an exit row seat for more leg room and I think $10 is a very fair price."
Cons: "The flight left a little late and arrived a little late."
Pros: "First I had to pay 15.00 extra to sit next to my handicap business. When we boarded the arm on the seat would not go down so my husband could transfer. So then they tried another seat and that arm didn't go down. So then they have my husband slide all the way over to the window seat . I sat in the middle of two big guys.Very uncomfortable, very chaotic an unorganized. A lady was radioing back and forth to someone to send certain passengers out. Terrible experience. They ran my husband down the aisle really fast. It took 3 guys to figure out how to put the straps on the chair they transferred him too. No one asked if I needed help. No one asked us if we wanted a breakfast sandwich."
Pros: "The price was the cheapest option I could find, but still not cheap. Overall service was good - staff was friendly."
Cons: "The flight was crowded, there was very little overhead room for bags. The staff took, what felt like, a really long time to serve drinks ( there didn't seem to be any sense of urgency - except for First Class, and there was a very limited menu - everything else cost extra). The only food options are an extra cost - is it too much to ask for a bag of pretzels? The only entertainment options are an extra cost. To check a bag is an extra cost. Not really sure what my ticket was paying for, seems like a lot to just sit in a very small, uncomfortable seat."
Cons: "The crew boarded us a lot earlier than we would have preferred (45min before the flight instead of the usual 30). We sat on the plane for a while before the door was shut. The cabin was very warm the entire time and the air was drier than any flight I've ever been on. My throat was parched by the time the drinks came around and my skin was so dry that it felt like my hands were cracking. I also didn't like the seat selection process at the self-checkin kiosk. The screen only showed us the front of the plane and it wasn't clear if we could scroll down to the back of the plane. I later realized that there were entire rows of empty seats in the back of the plane that we would have preferred over the crowded front of the plane."
Pros: "The seats had a surprising amount of legroom, and the staff was nice (though i'm not sure why there were as many as a normal flight from another airline, since they don't do anything beyond the safety demo)"
Cons: "You are not adequately made aware that you will be charged for carry on unlike other airlines. And in doing so, the price of the ticket goes from being impressively cheap to being more than a flight from another airline that has more included amenities, like actual refreshements and free carry-ons. You also get charged for just selecting a seat, not a special seat, but ANY SEAT AT ALL. So the price you initially see when searching for flights is quite misleading. In reality, you should ad at least 50 bucks to any frontier ticket to get a truer picture of what the price would be for a normal passenger with a single carry-on that wants a particular seat."
Cons: "3 of us had checked in online. Dropping off our luggage we were treated as guilty scum by the lady behind the counter. Made to force our carry on bags within a box in front of a line of people behind us, then told we could only carry one bag on, and not purses also. She was critical of our carry-on sizes. Had to pay her EVEN MORE than we had already paid online which included 1 bag + 1 carry-on, made the cost even higher. Plane seats were cheap, flight very bumpy. We will NEVER FLY FRONTIER AGAIN! We had flown Delta to our destiny and we could carry our purses too, and she kept saying this isn't Delta! Humiliating customers doesn't win business. All rules were NOT on their website as if I had known I couldn't carry my purse also, would not have flown with them. Cheap plane interior gave worries of cheap plane crashing. Voice on plane said get out your debit card to pay for water! After home again saw 2 more tickets had been taken out of our bank account, tho' we were totally paid in full. Now have to deal with this!!!!!!!!"
Pros: "I am handicapped and need a wheelchair to get to the gate. After I arrived at the gate and was ready to pre-board, Frontier sent another attendant to wheel me down the ramp which was fantastic since most times I have to drag and stumble my way down the ramp to board. When the plane arrived at Dulles, there was a wheelchair waiting for me at the door of the plane-a first in many flights. I am grateful for the Frontier staff's consideration and assistance."
Cons: "Having flown Frontier before, I was aware of the baggage charges, so I try to prepare accordingly (pay for all baggage online rather than at the gate). I am a bit perplexed, however, at the seat charge. I am handicapped and must sit in an aisle seat where I can stretch out my leg to some degree. I was told that because I am handicapped I do not have to pay for a special seat, but every time fly Frontier, I have had to pay to get an aisle seat. What do I have to do to get the necessary seating without charge other than sit wherever they place me and chance a circulatory episode?"
Cons: "After having our flight delayed for a total of 6 hours (each delay in increments of 30 minutes, ensuring that no one was able to leave the gate), we boarded and began down the runway only to be told that we must deplane due to a computer malfunction. Following this, our gate was changed and furthered delayed for an hour before being able to board a new plane. This would not have been such a negative experience if it had not been for the apathetic attitude of the staff working at not only the gate, but also at the customer service as well. After 3 of the half hour delays, if there would be any further delays of 30 minutes. The response of the worker at the gate was "would you like for it to be 30 more minutes" in an utterly derisive tone. Upon attempting to place a complaint about the staff at the customer service desk, I was instructed to call a 1-800 number to convey my complaints, again being dismissed. Lastly, every delay was accompanied by a different excuse ranging from "paperwork" to "security" to "weather" to "mechanical problems." This was by far the worst flying experience I have ever had, low prices are no excuse for poor customer service."
Pros: "Crew was nice"
Cons: "I was only on a 1.5 hour flight and I've never been more uncomfortable. The seats are basically a HARD plastic covered with a faux leather upholstery. NO cushioning whatsoever! I'm young and my back & butt was sore after 20 minutes! Seats do not recline either. Only caveat to the experience was the crew... the are very kind. Then again, they don't have all the work they would have on other airlines, like pushing a drink cart and serving every one drinks. You can pay for a snack or drink, but I did not see any purchases for at least 10 rows. I will never fly this airline again unless the flight is under half an hour. Cheap quality... you get what you pay for!"
Pros: "Flying with Frontier Airlines for the first time was a wonderful experience. Airfare was very reasonably inexpensive for a round-trip ticket from Atlanta to New Orleans (under $100), customer service and flight crew were friendly, and both departing and returning flights were on-time. I will definitely use them again. I didn't partake of in-flight meal, beverages or snacks due to short flight time and I brought my own with me which was a cheaper option. One checked bag did cost an additional $60 round-trip but considering the cost of airfare I didn't mind."
Cons: "In college I used to Fly Frontier to Denver because it was cheap, but now they just try and look cheap. You buy a flight for one price, but that includes nothing. I had to pay more to get in ANY seat. (What did I pay for in the first place?!) I went ahead and paid $30 to get an exit row seat (no cost on other airlines), and then I had to pay to bring a bag on the airplane or to check it. I can see paying for checking it because at least someone is touching it. But having to pay (and actually pay more!) for bringing a bag on the plane?!! That's just bait and switch work right there. I checked the bag, just so I didn't have to pay Frontier $5 more dollars. That's how tired I was of them. THEN I got on the plane, and they were charging for Cokes. Ridiculous. I fly Delta mostly (Diamond Club member), and I fly Southwest mostly otherwise (used to love Airtran). I'll just continue flying those airlines. It doesn't make sense to try and save a little cash, when you're actually saving nothing. Frontier just gets it from you on the backend when you're stuck. I've been in business twenty years, and the companies I've worked with ALWAYS are upfront and fair with their pricing. We NEVER try and bait and switch anyone, but I guess that is Frontier's model. That' means that Frontier isn't an airline for me. I'll never fly them again until they change these policies."
Pros: "Nice staff"
Cons: "My flight was delayed but I didn't get email until 230 am and I had to wake up at 420 am. Also my luggage was lost so I got a 50$ voucher. I am attending a dental seminar in a sweater and jeans. My bag got delayed another day and was only given another 50$ but I have to spend 200$ to get a 100$. I had no toiletiries, dress clothes, socks, and underwear. I asked for 150$ voucher and was denied. Also if I could a get free bag check on the return trip. Also denied. I expected a little more customer service when bags are lost."
Pros: "I got comped a drink."
Cons: "I purchased a $45 seat only to be asked to move because an obese woman had a tight fit in her first row seat so the flight attendants decided to move her next to my seat. it was decided by them that her comfort was more important than mine. All I was told was "she can't be in the first row". Not sure if there is an FAA regulation against having overweight people in the first row? If so she never should have been able to purchase that ticket. So I had to sit in a narrower seat with less leg room which didn't recline for over 5 hours."
Pros: "So far, nothing. No one has been helpful, they have either gotten mad or said sorry for the inconvenience."
Cons: "The machine, as well as a person, both of whom told my friend (who I bought the ticket for) that her confirmation code didn't exist. The next person she went to, said that she found her code but that she was 1 minute too late to check in and would have to pay 99$ to reschedule the flight. So now I lost money and didn't get to see my friend. And now we are having trouble rescheduling the flight, for the 99$. I am very disappointed, and wanted to travel through you guys again, but I have not been helped in solving my problem. And sadley will not be able to go through this company again, unless this issue is resolved."
"Given how many delays and cancellations other airlines are having, I was very pleased with both flights of my trip being on time, easy to check-in & board."
"Great trip, excellent price! No entertainment on board which is typical for this short flight. I did enjoy the option to purchase snacks."
"Friendly staff at all levels. Efficient boarding, new clean plane, arrived 20 minutes early, lowest price available. No entertainment and food for purchase only. Great deal though for a short flight!"
Pros: "Seat was average."
Cons: "If frontier was offering drinks and snacks again"
Cons: "They need to stop charging for carryon bags. Also they need more comfortable seats."
Cons: "Check in bags. No one at ticket counter. Airport had to page a frontier employee to get to the ticket counter over the airport intercom. Pretty bad look for you guys. Embarrassing honestly. Seems like a disjointed company. As a result many people saying they wouldn’t take frontier again"
Pros: "Crew too busy talking to each other."
Cons: "Focus on passengers needs. Enforce COVID rules! Flight too full. $3.00 for a small bottle of water. $60.00 for a carry on ONE WAY is hwy robbery!"
Pros: "It got the job done"
Cons: "We were delayed about 45 minutes, which happens, I’m fine with that. I did not like that there was zero communication about it. Up until the scheduled takeoff they still hadn’t told us it would be delayed and nothing else was updated either to indicated a delay."
Cons: "The way have to bus us to the plane."
Cons: "Plane was scheduled to depart at 8:20 pm it was then delayed until 8:58 pm due to weather. We all boarded the plane and were ready for take off when a maintenance issue was discovered. We all deplaned and we’re told we would be put on a new plane arriving from Seattle set to depart at 11:30 pm. This departure time was delayed until 1:35 am and then 2:35 am because the captain had timed out and we would need to wait for a new pilot. Also due to the first delay everything was coded as “weather” and customer service was unable to give hotel rooms. This miscommunication between corporate and passengers and the late night created lots of frustration. Instead of being helpful or honest customer service called security on the disgruntled passengers. I heard no threats of violence just elevated voices. At midnight Frontier began handing out meal vouchers (15 dollars to McDonald’s) as a way to increase morale. I finally gave up and requested a refund, got a hotel, and a new flight on a different airline (all Frontier flights the next day were sold out). When I asked what would happen to my checked luggage they said it would be sent to Dallas (my destination) or I could pay for it to be sent back to Denver. The flight and my luggage arrived in Dallas at 5:30 am. Paid $400 for Southwest flight the next day (flying into different Dallas airport away from my parked car and luggage) just for the guaranteed service."
Cons: "My seat was not worth an extra $50. Sat next to a lady with a stinky dog in her lap that was probably a little too big for lap."
Pros: "Not much"
Cons: "Cost of bags, not understanding person in terminal during boarding, plane seats; I keep saying we will NOT Frontier again. I must have been desperate."
Pros: "I boarded relatively quickly, but that was about the nicest thing about it."
Cons: "Well, the tray tables were about 5in x 8in and didn't slide forward, rendering it useless for basically anything. A laptop wouldn't fit anyway, but since it didn't slide out, the screen would have been tilted too far forward to properly see it as it was up against the seat and it was too unstable not to also hold my laptop while I sat there. With significantly less leg room than I've previously experienced on an economy class flight, laying down on the tray table to sleep was also impossible. When I first got on the plane, the air conditioner started and rather than feeling comfortable and less sweaty and gross, I just began to smell stale air that I was almost convinced was carbon monoxide as I was flying from Seattle and there had been smoke all around Washington due to forest fires. It was horribly uncomfortable and annoying even for sitting in coach. And I wasn't on an older or smaller airplane where I'd expect a little less concern for comfort, it seemed like it was very modern and it was a very large place. Leg room could have easily been increased by losing one to two rows of seats (seats that would most likely be empty anyway I might add). Airplanes tend not to be the most comfortable mode of travel anyway, but I would say this was the worst one."
Pros: "Literally nothing."
Cons: "I charged the airfare, thinking that would be all, like other airlines. Then I found out they charge for luggage. THEN I found out they charge me for a seat... on the flight I already paid for. Boarding was disorganized, seats were thin padding on plastic, quite uncomfortable. I also had to clean crumbs and trash off my seat before settling in. They charge you 2.99 each for water and airline peanuts; i didn't partake. they only gave me one boarding pass and when I boarded the plane, they said that is was the flight to Denver and then they were continuing on to Columbus. I assumed this meant I stayed on the plane when we landed in Denver, but no, they informed me the plane was then going to Cedar Rapids. I had no second boarding pass or gate number, so I asked the attendant. She took forever to help me, looking up my info for a minute and then talking to the other attendants and passing out papers to the boarding crew before acknowledging me again. Twenty minutes later, I had my gate, which I barely made to board in time for flight takeoff. Overall, the process was stressful, uncomfortable, and more expensive than if I had purchased a flight from Delta, Southwest, or Alaska. (All airlines I have flown and been happy with. Delta had a missed layover once and completely put me up for the night and was very helpful through the whole affair.) All said and done, I will not be flying Frontier again."
Pros: "2.5 hours is long enough to get thirsty, a cup of water would have been nice."
Pros: "The trip from Seattle to Denver was fine--We boarded on time and arrived in Denver on time. No problems."
Cons: "There was a long line of people waiting at the airport for agents to arrive and get us checked in. We were all getting anxious. I feel the cost of checking the suitcase was WAY too expensive. $45.00 is alot and other airlines charge $25.00---Where are the days of being able to check one suitcase and not have to pay extra???"
Pros: "The crew was great. The pilot lightened the mood with humor and the announcements were useful ( weather, time zone changes, ETA etc... ). The plane was clean and the price was low."
Cons: "You have to pay forty dollars for a carry on and for any beverage or snack on the flight. There was confusion about the seats as we boarded, which we did by zones, but still had aisle traffic which defeated the purpose. My connection was moved to another gate and they failed to announce it ( yes it was on the screen, but I don't travel that often and was lucky to notice it just as we were boarding... luckily just a few minutes walk away ). The plane offers no entertainment at all ( which is fine for me, but worth knowing... bring a dvd player or something for long trips )."
Cons: "I had to pay 40 dollars to check my bag or 45 to carry on with me. Ladies were accommodating when asked to change my seat from a middle to an aisle which was nice as I wasn't given the option to pick my seat while purchasing but when I arrived to my seat a grandmother was sitting with her grandchildren. I of course was not going to ask anyone to move, so I was ushered off to the next available seat. Was happy to let a family sit together but was not please with the lack of profession to begin with."
Cons: "No emailed itinerary or checkin notification - I blame Kayak for this (it seems to happen whenever I book through Kayak) and will no longer book flights through Kayak. Frontier sucks, but you already know that going in so you get what you expect."
Pros: "the beginning price - maybe?"
Cons: "I got to the airport in Dallas 2 hours before my 6:55 flight, and at that very moment, received a text that the flight was delayed 3 hours. At that time, there was NO ONE at the Frontier check in to explain what was going on. I understand there was excessive wind in Denver, but there should have at least been a Frontier representative at the gate in Dallas. On my way home, again the flight was delayed by an hour because of something on a previous leg. Because of this, I am going to go with any other airline first. I think Frontier should either co-op with other airlines to get people to their destinations on time or have more planes.......or AT LEAST have someone at the gate to offer next day service or a voucher or a free snack or something. I also do not like the whole A LA CARTE theme with this airline and Spirit Air. I do not like that I was going to be charged for a coffee or a coke. The whole thing is too confusing, and I am going to pay more for an American, United or Southwest flight next time."
Cons: "They say low fares done right but my "cheap" flight turned out to cost me over double what it should have with their extra cost for everything! And I mean for EVERYTHING. Will never fly frontier again!"
Cons: "Our flight out of Denver got CANCELED along with a whole bunch of others. Seems there were having crew issues, not the BS reasons corporate was saying. Lots of stranded people in Denver. We stood in line for 3 hours to get a refund. (we decided to go with another airline, some people had been stranded for a week!) One sad items was a soldier had been on deployment for TWO years and was trying to get home. He had been stranded since Friday (it was now Monday). The agent just shrugged and said get in line. Frontier should have booked him on another airline! Finally, a lady in line heard of his plight and bought him a ticket right there on the spot! (on another airline of course). SHAME ON FRONTIER. We will NOT fly them again! #NEVERFLYFRONTIER"
Pros: "The crew on my flight from Dallas to Denver did nothing about the obnoxious children (6 & 9yrs old) behind me who kept screaming, yelling & kicking my seat & the one next to me. The little boy behind my neighbor stood up & hit the man on the head."
Cons: "While waiting on my flight in Denver to go back to Dallas they changed gates on at least 5 different flights & it was very confusing watching groups of 50-100 passengers moving back & forth. This all happened in about 15min & my flight was called to board during all this chaos but because the woman making the announcements did not speak very good English I along with several others missed our flights. When i went to customer service to rebook my flight they tried to charge me $100 to rebook!!!!! Other airlines will try to book you on the next available flight thru another airline. Frontier told me the next available was 24hrs later, same time the next day. I was supposed to be back at work the next day. So i ended up spending $150 on a hotel room that i couldn't really afford. I WILL NOT FLY WITH FRONTIER AGAIN."
Cons: "We lost a whole day of our trip because our bag was lost. It took us so long to recover it that our quick weekend getaway was cut in half because we spent our first day there trying to recover our bag. When calling all the numbers that had been given to us by Frontier staff all the customer service reps were notable to help us and seemed unwilling to even try. Very disappointing."
Pros: "Lights turned off at night, not a lot of announcements to disturb sleeping passengers. Plane was clean. Crew seemed fine enough."
Cons: "To begin with, a three-hour delay on what was already just a four-hour flight, and no steps made to even offer snacks or discounts or other amenities to apologize for the gross delay. Very uncomfortable seats; even dead tired, I could not get much sleep. I usually use the food tray as a place to rest my head, but it was far too small to use for that. Upon landing, another 45 minutes of delay as we waited for our gate to become free, and again, no measures taken to apologize or make us as customers feel like they wanted us to feel even a little bit better about the situation. I get that it's a cheap flight option, but even so, the company needs to take more responsibility for its internal problems."
Pros: "Price, a non-stop route at a good times, friendly attendants and pilot."
Cons: "Paying extra for many things that are typically included (water, almost all seats, carry-ons), seats didn't recline and weren't comfortable if flight is long, no magazine to read."
Cons: "THE FLIGHT KEPT BEING DELAYED ALL DAY AND THEN IT WAS CANCELLED. PASSENGERS HAD TO SECURE OTHER FLIGHTS TO THEIR DESTINATIONS. SOME EVEN MISSED IMPORTANT EVENTS LIKE FUNERALS, CRUISES APPOINTMENTS, ETC. I WAS A DAY LATE FOR MY EVENT. I THINK WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD IMMEDIATELY SO WE COULD HAVE MADE OTHER ARRANGEMENTS EARLIER. I WAS NOT A HAPPY CAMPER AND WILL NOT CONSIDER FLYING FRONTIER IN THE FUTURE!!!!!!!! THAT WAS MY FIRST AND LAST TIME TO PURCHASE TRANSPORTATION FROM FRONTIER AIRLINES."
Pros: "I was transported safely from point A to B. That's about it."
Cons: "Check-in was atrocious as we watched the clerks migrate from one crisis to the next, and no TSA pre-check. WAITING at every stage of the flight. You would think a one-way would be simple, but no. An hour at the departure terminal, delayed in-air, then sitting on the taxiway for an hour and a half at the destination, followed by more waiting at the gate. The pilot's excuses didn't help any, clearly trying to avoid an onboard riot for a flight in which we waited longer on the ground than we flew in the air. We checked the board afterward to see if any other airlines' flights were delayed--nope, only Frontier, every one. It's clear what happens. They pay the least possible expense for airport services, and are then the lowest priority at every stage of operations, resulting in delays at every phase of flight. The most frustrating flight I've ever had that didn't include actual incompetence or bad weather."
Cons: "Got to the airport 2 hours early to check in. The kiosk told me to see an attebdant. No attendants were at the Frontier desk. The nearest employees (jetblue) told me yesterday that the Frontier employees never showed up and that people missed their flights. My flight along with several other people who were waiting as well, seemed to have either been cancelled without alerting us. My confirmation number didn't register on the kiosk a half hour after I originally tried it. No employees ever arrived to the desk. Having to go to United to buy another ticket. I would expect either a full refund or a travel voucher in replacement. I paid 300 dollars and had to arrive 6 hours later than originally planned. As I live three hours from the Denver airport, this will get me home at 1 am. I have to be at work tomorrow at 7am. I will never fly frontier again."
Pros: "The price and the actual flight was quick and the attendants were nice."
Cons: "Stephen Lucero 352936 discriminated against us at the gate. We were the only two people out of everyone boarding flight F9 129 to be pulled aside and asked to pay for a personal item that fit the size restrictions of the metal bag sizer outside the gate. We watched 50+ people walk onto the plane with not issues with multiple and bigger bags. We waited patiently but with frustration for an explanation and he could not offer one. When we asked what the problem was with us he threatened to not allow us to board whether or not we paid the bag fee. He did not take care of our unjust bag payment until 9:11 which was after the doors of the plane were to be closed. Aside from him being rude (which is a major understatement) paying for the bag wouldnt not have been an issue and it would have been justified had we not just flew into Denver two days before with the exact same bags. I was both embarrassed and humiliated and out of money for no reason."
Pros: "Delays happen. However, to be stuck at the ticket counter and not to get past that to the comfort of a lounge or restaurant is something else. So not only was there a delay, but those of us who got there early could do nothing but wait-- with NO ONE at the ticket counter for the first 40 minutes."
Cons: "Tried to cancel this flight using the flight insurance I was up sold during checkout. Turns out that the flight insurance was only available for international flights? When I ask the agent why it was the recommended during purchase, she said I should have read the full terms and conditions during checkout. To me, this was a true scam. She told me that I could appeal the conditions of the travel insurance, but I would have to present a death certificate of the friend's baby that had just passed - the reason the baby shower was cancelled, and the reason this trip was cancelled. It was appalling. I tried calling Frontier directly, but their reservation desk was closed due to their system being down. HOURS I tried to call, and could not get a rep. I ended up not able to cancel the flight or even speak w a Frontier rep before my flight departed. In all, I was given 6 different numbers or lines to call to sort through this situation. All I did was waste hours of my time. This was a terrible situation where I feel like I was the victim of a scam."
Cons: "It is very clear that Frontier is a budget airline that prioritizes money over people. Right down to the unnecessary announcement that you may not drink your own 'minis' but are required to purchase their liquor (at ridiculously inflated prices). The pretty girls who approached us and offered perks...for a price as we queued for more than an hour simply to check in, made me feel even more like faceless animal prey with dollars in my pockets. I will not fly Frontier again, no matter how 'cheap' their tickets."
Pros: "The flight crew, and the view out the plane. I did enjoy the minimalistic seat design, which probably allows for more people per plane."
Cons: "The hidden fees, frontier wanting you to pay to pick your seat location after already purchasing the ticket. That is really lame. No complementary beverage (not even water) or snack on 3 hour flight... also lame. Frontier claims to be affordable airfare but has you pay for way more than just the plane ticket after the fact. I opted to not pay to pick seat location and was able to still sit next to my friend but I bet there are a good amount of people who have a family and feel pressured to spend way more money to pick seats so they are not separated. Just makes frontier seem like a money hungry company that cares more about money than it's customers. The flight home (Denver to Seattle) was an hour and a half late, which sucks, but whatever life happens. I didn't really like the airbus plane that made weird plane noises, why do you not use Boeing planes?"
Pros: "Newer jet, clean, smooth flight"
Cons: "Two of the three flight attendants were a little obnoxious. Before we took off, the female African American attendant openly said that people weren't listening to her about stowing carry on bags and said "this is like dealing with a bunch of 2-yr olds" uncalled for in my opinion. The only male attendant was insincere on his announcements and it's the first time I've ever flown (hundreds before) where on two occasions he asked for people to clean up after themselves. Also the lines at the sole checkin desk in Seattle was too long. Should have had more than one person checking people in. I'd not recommend this airline if I was asked today what my opinion was."
Pros: "Flight times"
Cons: "Terribly uncomfortable seating -- the worst I've ever experienced; horrible baggage charges for carry-on and checked, both -- and lack of straight-forward discussion of fees which are, at the very least, semi-hidden; the only time since People's Express that I've not been offered a soft drink or juice w/out a charge. Terrible baggage handling and lack of assistance and information regarding the extreme lateness of checked bags being produced for the entire flight at baggage claim. Will not fly Frontier again unless assured of corrections to all of these problems."
Pros: "The crew was kind and professional."
Cons: "I have never been charged $40 for a carry on. I suppose I missed some fine print about that, however it seems absolutely rediculous. The airplane seats feel more like bus seats. They do not recline and are missing a head rest or anything resembling a cushion. The airlines seems to gouge you for anything they possibly can. Even their bitter airplane coffee costs $2. I am actually surprised I wasn't charged for bringing on a jacket. I almost had to switch flights and after speaking on the phone with one of their representatives found out that if they do that over the phone there is a $50 service charge (for speaking to someone on the phone) on top of the $100 change fee and decided against it. I will absolutely never fly Frontier again. There are many other low cost options that include basic amenities like normal seats and free carry on luggage. Seriously, don't fly Frontier."
Cons: "First leg of our trip was delayed so we could not make our connection. We were told they could fly us to Denver and catch other flight home 3 days later or completely rebook to the next closest city. (They do not partner with anyone so you are stuck with their flights) Which we then needed to book a hotel, cab fares to the megabus station, then cab fares back to our original destination. Once arriving, and even though we checked in hours before our flight, our baggage was missing along with about 10 other passengers. Frontier had no one at their baggage service when we arrived. So I had the drive 2 hours back the next day. Called the help line. The person was rude and began getting loud with me, even though they are the ones that lost our bags. 90% of all the customer service people we encountered were extremely rude and would not help. Nor were they very accommodating for all their mess ups. For all our troubles, the rude "customer service" people, and out additional hundreds of dollars; Frontier sent us a coupon for a whooping $50 to use on their airline. No thanks, will never fly this airline again."
Pros: "It was expensive stupid bait and switch on bags and Cost to check in is wrong.. Seats are the worst ever!!!! The crew was grumpy. I will not be flying With them agin after this trip!"
Pros: "Nice seats. The lady next to me."
Cons: "Where are the free peanuts?!"
Pros: "The Flight attendants excellent"
Cons: "2hr delay and then the ride was bumpy most the way"
Pros: "I liked being able schedule a flight when I needed it."
Cons: "I did not like the added price for luggage: $45 for carry or $36 for checked bags. I think charging a fee to allow people to pick a seat is ridiculous. I could have flown with another carrier for the same price after all the added costs. Be advised before you get suckered in on the cheap ticket. . . . know the other costs!!!"
Cons: "The fact that it was beyond my control I missed my flight, not only that I was charged a 50 dollar fee to be on standby yet they say standby is free but you have to have a flight , umm then standby is not free then. Then guinene states that I would be on a flight that night yet put me on a Wednesday flight . First off it was Monday and then they lied and said they were booked upwhen that was a lie because there was a whole row behind me empty and the seat next to me was empty. They took my money for nothing and i do not appreciate it"
Cons: "Spirit airlines is quite possibly the worst airline I was ever suppose to ride with. When I arrived at the gate I was told that my dad lane was delayed 4 hours which meant I was going to miss my connecting flight so I asked if there would be another flight the lady said on Thursday so I said cool give me that one but she meant next Thursday a week away I was like that's crazy and she said well that's all we got you can do that or get your money back the lady I talked to was completely rude to me and very unforgiving and before I could get a refund she walked away they never let me speak with a supervisor she only talked to him/her on the phone and when I asked to speak to him the lady said I couldn't and would hang up her phone so my whole experience with spirit airlines was beyond terrible if I could give them a zero I would"
Pros: "Nothing because your crew was under staffed and my son was delayed for almost 8 hours. 2 due to your airlines."
Pros: "Great flight staff"
Pros: "The price of ticket was cheap but with all the extra fees, it was more expensive than going United."
Cons: "I had to pay for everything!!! Even creating a boarding pass. I had to print it at the hotel which cost me $8. And having to pay for a seat? what is that about? What, you sell tickets but don't guarentee a seat? Could I have just stood the entire flight? My company will not reimburse me for the seat because I had to pick using my cell phone and I did not know how to save a copy of the bill."
Cons: "Even for people who had checked in online had to go through the painful process as the normal checking."
Cons: "I got to the kiosk an hour and a half early so I could check in, and the machine wouldn't allow me to do so, and it printed a receipt to take to the agent at the desk. There were only two agents to start with and took about twenty to thirty minutes per customer, and caused me and others to miss our flights. Internet check in is a suggestion, no one told me it was mandatory and since u wasn't checked it she said there's nothing they can do to help me. Very inprofessional and very seemingly untrained just like all the news headlines stated. After this I bought a adept flight to my final destination and no hassles for a last minute within an hour flight."
Cons: "Spirit didn't let my husband have a boarding pass, so he could help me with my luggage. I needed help because I'm pregnant and spirit said no because I had to be a minor under the age of 15 for him to get a boarding pass."
Cons: "Charging customers for chips, water or soda is horrible and not accommodating at all."
Cons: "Need tvs"
Cons: "terrible cancellation/refund policy"
Pros: "Worst airline ever they nickel & dime you & it ends up costing more money then any other airlines"
Cons: "More Comfortable seats"
Cons: "Food and drinks served to all. But, charges taking from their flight fares."
Cons: "Watch out!! A carry-on that fit going one way, suddenly did NOT fit going the other way. I had to pay an additional $55 dollars to carry-on my roll bag or I wasn't getting on the plane. Also, I felt obligated to "buy" a designated seat or maybe not have a seat. Good thing, too, as the flight was overbooked. This is the worst airline ever. All they do is nickel-and-dime you. Not worth it. Pay a little more & travel in peace & comfort."
Cons: "When I walked in to the Spirit Airline to check in I have my mother in wheelchair she's 80 years old I was told when I checked her in luggage that I'll be charged $10 for checking in there then they told me to go to the machines to check in I went there then the call me back and they said they can do it there but customer service guy was not nice at all then another a gentleman stepped in to do his job and take me back and forth for half hour just to check in wheelchair person service and I will never recommend Spirit Airline ever again from LaGuardia Airport PS the wheelchair gentleman who help my mother he was very nice he also waited for me for half hour I tipped him $15 just to help my mother through security this was a very service from Airline"
Cons: "I came to LGA airport as Spirit airlines suggested time wise. Security line was moving slow. Made it to the gate 10 min before departure, there were already 6 passengers standing by the counter begging to be allowed on the flight since the security line 'snail' speed was to blame. One girl was already all red in her face from crying, another gentleman was taking pictures of the Spirit plane just sitting on our gate. He was posting it to the social media to leave his comments of how ridiculous all this ordeal was. We asked , explained, begged to be allowed on our purchased flight, but employees at the gate (for 1:30pm flight to Dallas, on Sunday March 25th) would not hear any of it. They were all ' politely' saying 'would you like to be put on our next flight to Dallas this Tuesday?' ( you are freaking kidding me I thought). Our plane just sat there for at least 15 more minutes. We were all watching it and couldn't believe this. We all could have already been inside of it. I fly American Airlines all the time, I've seen them allow customers on board even after the passenger list is printed at the gate. They allowed me also one time to be let in at the flight once the gate door was closed ( I had a quick connection in ORD and it was hard to make it on the other end of that airport). I should have flown with American Airlines again instead of Spirit. Spirits' cheap prices are not worth the hassle. Even one airport security employ commented how she 'hates Spirit airlines,' which really alerted me at the time, but now I completely get it. Oh, and I had checked luggage to Dallas, I paid for it on Spirit website. I regret every single dollar I gave them for this trip. All of my family, and friends I've informed of this, are staying away from Spirit Airlines from now on. And we travel at least once a month. I'm afraid we will not do business with Spirit airlines again."
Cons: "Seats to small"
Pros: "Not one thing"
Cons: "I weigh about 165 and I fit comfortably in the center seat, however when a sweating, panting 300 pound lady sits down next to me spreads her legs out and and I have to lean forward for the entire trip because of her back fat, I seriously don't think I received the full seat for which I paid. Additionally, she was at the window seat in an emergency exit and the fact she could barely hoist herself down the aisle without getting winded calls the questions; could she actually lift the 40 pound door if needed? And could she actually negotiate herself out the door in the 90 seconds required by the airline for evacuation? I am certain the answer is no. There must be provisions that preclude an unusually large person from purchasing only one seat when clearly she needed both hers and mine, and keeping them from siting in the exit seat. There's a safety issue at hand here. Oh, and thanks, Spirit, for robbing me of $50 each way for a small carry on."
Pros: "Quick boarding"
Cons: "HATED: Being charged for every little thing, that in the end, equals or exceeds the amount one would spend on a major carrier. Having someone next to me that takes up one and a half seats when they probably should've been charged for 1.5 seats. Condescending flight attendant who insisted that I take out the safety pamphlet and read along, refusing to continue her presentation and glaring at me until I did so, as if I were a child. The website which is cumbersome and has virtually every page trying to hard sell something extra."
Pros: "Was skeptical after reading horror stories of Spirit Airlines. Everything was good and not at all as the horror stories depicted"
Pros: "They refunded the flight"
Cons: "They weren't able to book me on a flight until 2 days after, forcing me to buy a last minute ticket from another airline."
Cons: "Simply doesn't compare to the competition... they don't even give you water! No wifi. Awful all around."
Pros: "The flight crew was very friendly and upbeat. So there's that."
Cons: "The whole website process is misleading, especially when it prompts you to pay for seats even though you don't have to. Didn't know you didn't have to pay for seats until a coworker told me so. Paying for a carry-on bag seems kind of ridiculous. Just dropping this one would have made me like the entire process a lot more. Paying for anything else was fine. I bought and ate a muffin and it was... greasy? If I wasn't starving, I probably wouldn't have tried it. I don't understand why they don't send you an electronic boarding pass. First time in 2 years I've had to print out a boarding pass. Maybe I missed it? Their website was a nightmare to get through. Seats were super uncomfortable."
Cons: "Spirit's low fares shown on Kayak are a total illusion. Their baggage fees are not only expensive, their weight limits for bags is low, they charge for carry ons(?!!) AND they charge extra to seat you next to your travel partner(s) AND they won't even serve you WATER without charging you. RIP OFF. Lesson expensively learned"
Pros: "Love the no-nonsense service!"
Pros: "The airplanes turnover once it docked was pretty quick"
Pros: "I like the crew and low cost tickets"
Cons: "I don't like the extra charges like carry-on cost too much (only spirit charges for carry-on). And the seats are not comfortable for long hours."
Cons: "They charged me 80$ for 1 luggege I checked in. Unbelievable. When I booked through kayak I tried to add 1 luggede but had no option to do so, So at the check in they basically took advantage of that. Never fly with spirit again if I don't get a refund"
Cons: "On my DFW to LGA flight, seats were very lean with great leg space. In this flight, seats were traditional ones with limited leg space. So in comparison rating this at 4 star. Otherwise flight was great."
Pros: "I didn't like anything."
Cons: "The flight attendants were very rude. I asked for the manager's name and one of the attendants actually said if I want to know his/her name, I would need to go outside. I purchased the flight specifically for the inexpensive price only to be told there will be a charge of $100.00 for my carry on bag. The rude male attendant advised that it is written in fine print, which I did not see because I purchased from a third party company. I travel frequently and I have never heard of such rules. Then again, I have never traveled with Spirit nor will I ever again!!! You get what you pay for."
Pros: "I like that there was no one in the emergency exit seats added the crew allowed me to switch"
Cons: "There really isn't anything I can say I didn't like"
Pros: "I got on the flight eventually and made it home to Dallas."
Cons: "The crew was extremely rude. My flight was delayed and I received many notifications notifying me of the time change. I arrived with plenty of time to get through security for the new time of the flight. When checking in however the crew told me that I had missed my flight. The plane had not left, the doors weren't closed, and the flight hadn't even boarded. I was devastated. They said I couldn't get a refund and there was no way they could let me board, I needed to arrive an hour early before the original time not the new time. Eventually I was able to speak with a manager after 4 other people arrived with the same issue trying to get on the flight, and I got on the plane. The ticket agent that I initially spoke to was incredibly rude though and had no compassion, nor did she even attempt to do anything to help me. Will not be flying spirit again."
Pros: "They spent more time trying to sell their credit card than they did asking about anything else. The woman behind me was choking and they wouldn't give her a glass of water, but they would sell her one. Her daughter in a different section of the plane had to pay for water since her mother didn't have a credit card."
Cons: "If anyone thinks Spirit is a good deal, hopfully you are flying without luggage and do not need water during your flight."
Cons: "Unhelpful. Paying for carryons. Tiny seats."
Pros: "Cost savings"
Cons: "Carry on/ Baggage fees"
Pros: "Horrible. Filthy seats and plane. Was told "get off plane and fly with another airline if you don't like it" several times by attendant just for asking for something to clean seat and floor with myself. Then I was thrown off for objecting to such disrespect ful treatment. I will pay triple, double, quadruple to fly with another airline from now on. This airline and its employees are beyond rude and disrespectful. Do not go anywhere near this company. I was warned not to fly with them and I thought it could not be so bad. It was 100 times worse!!!"
Cons: "Who prints their boarding pass? There is no mobile device option. The plane was having mechanical problems and spirit never informed me. I just received vague emails saying that the flight was delayed. In the end the flight was cancelled. They couldn't rebook me on time and I missed my grandmotget's wake. Very undependable. Horrible customer experience."
Pros: "Worst flight ever!"
Cons: "Everything - again worstigjt ever"
Cons: "Cancelled flight and lost luggage"
Pros: "Sadly, absolutely nothing."
Cons: "The apologetic customer service with few answers and/or half answers requiring more additional wait time over the phone."
Pros: "I like that they treated us with respect and where very friendly staff"
Cons: "There was nothing to not like"
Cons: "I have flown with most other airlines and this airline seems focused on making passengers not want to ever fly this airline again. I don't think I ever will. They say they are trying not to provide any service that they are not compensated, to keep their cheap prices, but in reality they are misleading with there low fares because of the baggage policy. I have paid to check bags but not $50 and I have never paid to have a carry on bag.. I spent 2 hours trying to pay for the checked bag on line to save $10 dollars. There web sight said I had no flight in my name. I called and got that straightened out, a problem with my name in there system, only to have the web site malfunction after I finally got to the page to be able to pay. The web page would not allow me entrance until I was a member of there airlines. I would not have ever registered for this rewards program had I known using a phone in the airport was going to be a navigational nightmare. But they won't have to worry about pleasing me again. If they are the last airline on earth, I will just walk. I think I can make it from New York City to Dallas/ Ft. Worth more comfortably on foot."
Pros: "Overall... flight was on time Boarding... smooth Crew.... friendly attendant Comfort... Seats doesn't recline Food..... didnt bought food entertainement... went to sleep lol"
Pros: "The cost of ticket"
Cons: "You have to pay for everything. Literally. If I had paid more for my round trip (89$) I'd be pissed"
Pros: "Our flight left NY at 2pm on 29th and due to weather issues was diverted to Kansas city instead of TX. Many other flights where also diverted, which all halted for few hours and left to final destination Dallas except for us. They made us sit in the flight from 5pm to 11pm and cancled the flight. No food was given , no water & there where kids on the flight who stayed hungry. Horrible service and staff had the worth attitude."
Cons: "The whole experience was horrible"
Cons: "Never again. Charged too much for baggage. Gate changed at last minute. Sat on hot airplane for 1/2 hour. Waited 1/2 for baggage to come out. Not worth cheap fare. They make up the cost in baggage fees and water on the airplane. You have to buy water!"
Cons: "I came 30 min before my flight and didn't let me on my flight just kept nodding his head when I asked for a supervisor nobody came out"
