I bought a round trip ticket online with my current passport number. When I arrived in Shanghai, I was held at the Customs for extra 20 or 30 minutes because the airline provided a passport number I used more than 10 years ago. My luggage was held at Pudong airport quite a few days. Each day, they said something different to me... When it's the time for me to go back, I was held again at PEK, because of the different passport number they kept in their system. Even though I explained to them how I purchased the ticket with my current passport number and I have no idea where the problem happened. They insisted that it was my own fault. My gmail did not work properly in China. I asked them for help by providing me the ticket agent contact info in the States. They said that they did not know. I should go where I bought my ticket. I had to spend hours to contact friends in the States to find the phone number of justfly.com. Then, I made international call to justfly for about hour to have the problem fixed. I did not provide any wrong info when purchasing the ticket. The problem was made between the airline and their agent. They, as professionals, could easily have the problem solved but they blamed the customer for the mistake. I had to spend so much extra time and money to cover their mistake, at the risk of missing my flight. That's the worst experience I ever had for international flight.

Everything went well except for my comments to the right.

Check in in person . The lady that issues boarding passes. She never smiled and I was scared to ask her anything. She sure did not volunteer any info concerning our flight from Chengdu to LAX via CAN. Never asked if we preferred isle or window seats. I remember her and will avoid her next time.

Crew were friendly and very efficient. China Southern completes the service of food and drink very quickly when compared to other airlines. Boarding was super easy.

The plane was extremely hot. It was hot while we were on the tarmac, then it cooled right down once we were taking off. Once we levelled out it was way too hot again. Not pleasant at all.

I missed my flight because of wrong details the airline sent me by email. I arrived 3 hours before, but when I arrived, it was too late, and the flight already departured. The only next flight to TLV, Israel, was on the 2nd of Nov- 2 days later! I had to wait a whole day in the airport for another flight with another airline (ELAL) which I paid for it 2900 RMB! It's really unfair, and the women in the check-in desk wouldn't help me nor give me any info in order to book a new ticket :( It was a horrible experience, and I definitely wont fly with Hainan Airlines again.

There were personal movie screens with movies I liked.

The food was pretty bad. The bottom seat cushion was quite hard so I couldn't sleep because I was shifting my weight every hour. We were told at the boarding gate that the flight was full when we asked about upgrades, but the economy plus section was almost empty once we were on. I don't understand the reasoning for lying about the flight being full. If you won't sell us an upgrade, just say so.

The food was good for airplane food.

It makes no sense to not allow the use of any electronics during take off and landing. My E reader doesn't even use a cell signal, but I couldn't have it out. Also, not allowing cell phones at ANY time during the flight, even in airplane mode, is ridiculous because tablets, which can have cell signals, are allowed. Air China is just frustrating.

I have flown with Air China before and had a bad experience. They are improving everything from customer service to in-flight amenities. Transfers in Beijing are still a problem with zero efficiency.

They don't honor seat selection when booking but attendant at gate helped and was very understanding.

The flight was supposed to leave at 8:30pm. We were delayed until 11, then 11:50. At 11:50 we were still not boarding and an argument started about compensation. We were finally boarded at 12:30am. But on the plane we were not given information and continued to sit there for an hour and a half while the plane was further delayed. We finally left around 2:30am, six hours after we were supposed to leave. I missed my ride at Beijing and my first night at the hotel.

Flight CX882 Seat 59K the food tray does not stay up, food keeps sliding to the right. Both departing and returning flights ran out of free gifts as stated for the purchase of Laneige skin care products. Food selection is less desirable compared to other Asian airlines. Inside the crew food storage/service area looks old and dirty. I can see the area from my seat.

Upon landing, there was a problem with airport customs and immigration which prevented the passengers from leaving the plane. Crew needs to be more proactive with (1) passengers getting up too early and blocking the aisle out of turn. An elder woman was trying to get her bags and exit her row and passengers from behind were not letting her collect and exit. I stopped the rude people from the back who were getting off out of turn. Instructions need to be issued, let people get off the plane in orderly fashion. and (2) crew did not inform passengers what was happening with immigration and customs holdings things up until I hit the service button a few times. Tell the passengers what is going on rather than allow tempers to heat up

The flight was delayed due to air traffic control. Subsequently I missed my connecting flight -- Xiamen to Manila that evening and had to spend another night in China. Next flight out of Xiamen was 6pm, Nov 2. Xiamen ground staff was very helpful in booking me the option to fly China Southern to Guangzhou the night of Nov 1, stay for free in a hotel, and then take the 0835 morning China Southern flight from Guangzhou to Manila. It was difficult to identify the right people to speak with and get clear assistance and direction in both Xiamen and Guangzhou.

They upgraded my wife and I to an Exit Row, I'm tall

Dirty bathrooms, overall poor sanitary conditions of plane. Once in Beijing we had to go thru Immigration and Security again even though we were just transferring to another international destination (Bangkok) and the lines for both Immigration and Security in Beijing were super long and grossly understaffed. Even with a 2 hour layover we almost missed our connecting flight to Bangkok.

When my husband and I went to check in for our flight at the desk we had to wait very long time to get checked in. We noticed that one of the girls was in training, which is understandable but just inconvenient. We are both very patient people but this just made us nervous because our first flight on Air China to Japan on 10/26/17 was very delayed and caused us to have to literally run and still go through a rigorous security check. We were not rushed through the line even though we had nothing to do with our flight being delayed on our second leg. We then had to wait in another long line for security even after arriving into China on our flight back. There was also someone on board before take off with a medical problem and we could tell that some of the patrons started getting a bit aggressive or irritable. I don’t think the crew could’ve done much in that regard but wish the issue had been resolved a little quicker. I believe it was a 40 minute delay in take off.

Kayak or JustFly put wrong ID number whole booking the flight. First 2 segment I had no issues buy 3rd segment they denied to check me in and almost forced me to buy a new ticket. Check in Crew was rude and would speak to me in Chinese. I am a foreigner who doesn't understand English. They wanted me to call my booking agent in Canada, it was mid night in Canada.

We are both very patient people but this just made us nervous because our first flight on Air China to Japan on 10/26/17 was very delayed and caused us to have to literally run and still go through a rigorous security check. We were not rushed through the line even though we had nothing to do with our flight being delayed on our second leg. We then had to wait in another long line for security even after arriving into China on our flight back. There was also someone on board before take off with a medical problem and we could tell that some of the patrons started getting a bit aggressive or irritable. I don’t think the crew could’ve done much in that regard but wish the issue had been resolved a little quicker. I believe it was a 40 minute delay in take off.

Kayak or JustFly put wrong ID number whole booking the flight. First 2 segment I had no issues buy 3rd segment they denied to check me in and almost forced me to buy a new ticket. Check in Crew was rude and would speak to me in Chinese. I am a foreigner who doesn't understand English. They wanted me to call my booking agent in Canada, it was mid night in Canada.

The tickets should be printed for all legs of the trip so i didn't have to wait in line for another ticket. The kiosks are confusing , people didn't know where to insert their passports.

I bought a round trip ticket online with my current passport number. When I arrived in Shanghai, I was held at the Customs for extra 20 or 30 minutes because the airline provided a passport number I used more than 10 years ago. My luggage was held at Pudong airport quite a few days. Each day, they said something different to me... When it's the time for me to go back, I was held again at PEK, because of the different passport number they kept in their system. Even though I explained to them how I purchased the ticket with my current passport number and I have no idea where the problem happened. They insisted that it was my own fault. My gmail did not work properly in China. I asked them for help by providing me the ticket agent contact info in the States. They said that they did not know. I should go where I bought my ticket. I had to spend hours to contact friends in the States to find the phone number of justfly.com. Then, I made international call to justfly for about hour to have the problem fixed. I did not provide any wrong info when purchasing the ticket. The problem was made between the airline and their agent. They, as professionals, could easily have the problem solved but they blamed the customer for the mistake. I had to spend so much extra time and money to cover their mistake, at the risk of missing my flight. That's the worst experience I ever had for international flight.

Most of the staff was very helpful and accommodating. On the first leg of the flight one of the attendants even suggested a wine with dinner, a very kind gesture.

When my husband and I went to check in for our flight at the desk we had to wait very long time to get checked in. We noticed that one of the girls was in training, which is understandable but just inconvenient. I have flown with Air China before and had a bad experience. They are improving everything from customer service to in-flight amenities. Transfers in Beijing are still a problem with zero efficiency.

They don't honor seat selection when booking but attendant at gate helped and was very understanding.
