So, the aisles get blocked and boarding takes forever. 2) The cabin crew gave pretty apathetic service. When our baby threw up on us, they just told us to go clean ourselves up in the bathrooms. They gave us a can of soda water to help clean up, but that was about it. 3) When my wife asked if the bread was dairy free (for our baby with a dairy allergy), the staff's response was to turn to another staff member and ask them, "Do you want to go back and research that?" In the end they just told us they didn't have time to look it up."

Cons: "Background info: we flew from Dublin to Toronto (Aer Lingus) and we were supposed to fly Toronto to Los Angeles on American Airlines; however, we had a British Airways flight number for both of these flights. We missed our connecting flight in Toronto with American Airlines (we had a 2 hour layover) despite landing on-time (de-boarded a few minutes late). I suggest avoiding the Toronto airport ALWAYS as every passenger must pick up his/her luggage even if you have a connecting flight, and then re-check the baggage with the next flight. Apparently the baggage handlers were on strike and some of the customs agents as well which added to the delays. Well, after going through Canadian customs and picking up our luggage (which took quite awhile) we arrived at the American Airlines ticketing kiosk about 45 minutes before our flight. The computer told us we were too late for this flight and to see a representative. We proceeded to wait in line for an American Airlines representative only to be told this was Aer Lingus' fault (we had just flown with them); even though we had a BA flight number.. After searching for an Aer Lingus representative we were finally told they were probably all on the Aer Lingus flight that was currently about to leave. An Aer Lingus representative was paged to the ticketing counter (took well over 30 minutes for anyone to show up) and what proceeded was an argument (for well over an hour) between British Airways and Aer Lingus representatives about whose responsibility it was to re-book us. After an hour at least of poor customer service, we were finally rebooked by British Airways on the last flight to LAX (on Air Canada). Moral of the story: avoid Toronto and fly direct."

Several minutes later, they announce that there's a medical emergency and EMTs are on the way. Said EMT comes down the aisle with a wheelchair. I assume they took that passenger off the back, because they didn't come back by me. We finally leave the gate only to find that the weather we were supposed to get out ahead of had now rolled in, and we're stuck on the taxiway for an hour and a half. Once we finally got airborne, things went well. When we arrived at LAX, we parked in a remote area and had to bus to the terminal. So, while none of this was really anything American could have prevented, it made the flight more of an ordeal."

I made my flight but just by a hair. If the agents would have been around to help or been willing to help me from the moment I spoke to them this would not have been a problem. Thanks for almost ruining Christmas for me. When I spoke to others everyone told me they always have issues with AA. Will never fly AA again."

My family grabbed a bus to Narita for a 6:30pm flight. C'MON AMERICAN AIRLINES! COULD YOU SERIOUSLY NOT GET ANOTHER PLANE TO HANEDA?? OR AT LEAST PAY FOR OUR HOTEL?? The ground crew at Haneda was very kind but overwhelmed. Terrible experience. And it's the reason I don't fly American. In fact, KAYAK, I booked our flights on JAL intentionally to avoid American. The fact that these were partner flights on American completely and unpleasantly surprised me...also not a good experience."

Of note, I was repeatedly reassured that they were "sure" I would make my connection without a problem and to stop worrying so much. My flight left out of Madison 2 minutes after my connection departed Chicago. I usually fly a different airline, whose flights out of Madison were all on time that day, and will do so in the future despite more expensive ticket. The actual crew on the flight was lovely and apologetic, did everything they could to help us despite the delays. At least that's something."

The only thing done to make this time easier was to give all passengers free TV for the duration of the flight. Wow, thanks. I was lucky my layover was 2.5 hours so I just made my connection. Most other connecting passengers were not so lucky. Pay the extra money to take a better airline."

I really appreciate spirit and their simple approach to flying. I usually travel light, so it’s great when I need a quick getaway. The staff is always down to earth (as opposed to other flight attendants who act superior.). Very excited to make this my first choice when flying.
Make the armrests flush with the seat so that when i lie down they don’t gouge my back. There were only 30 people on the flight so there was plenty of room to sleep but the armrests raised were very uncomfortable.

Doesn't matter because they do not partner with TSA pre so you will end in the slow checkpoint. 3. You couldn't print your boarding pass? Bad news, they do not support Apple wallet or electronic boarding pass. 4. You want to check your luggage or print your ticket at the counter? They are only available for 4 blocks of ~ two hours during the day (SEA). 5. Can't choose your seat unless you pay extra. I prefer to pay twice rather than fly on Spirit again."
Pros: "I managed restaurants for years, so I want to start off by saying I'm VERY forgiving when it comes to mistakes. 4 out of the 5 flights I've mistakenly subjected myself to with Spirit have been absolutely atrocious in every way imaginable. This one was so horrible I can't even type the story in fear I'll start to relive it. Trust me and please let my pain and suffering be reconciled through saving you the pain of walking in the shoes of a Spirit Airlines customer. If ever considering a flight with Spirit...just say no. If for some crazy reason they draw you in with a price, schedule, airport location, or any other reason or combination of reasons...I promise you, it isn't worth it. Even if the flight is free, you'll feel cheated and short changed in the end after you overcome the shear disbelief that any company could survive operating the way they do. And if you're still considering Spirit at this point, I wish you luck...you'll need plenty of it. They're mediocre 20^ of the time. If you're flight is like the greater 80% of my experiences, Lord help you."
Cons: "Everything but the color yellow in their logo. And PS, any of these good reviews have got to be friends and family. Spirit Airlines couldn't hit a 10 on their best day. Virgin can hit a 10, but Spirit...their top end can't be higher than a 4"

Cons: "1.Seated next to a very large man that should have bought 2 seats. I was only able to occupy 3/4 of my space. It was a very uncomfortable flight with having part of a strangers body touching and crowding me. There were no other seats available to move to. 2. When I asked for a glass of water, they do not give you, but you have to pay. 3. ALL other airlines allow a purse and a small carry-on. They charge $55.00 dollars. 4. They charge double for check in bag. $50.00, most others charge $25.00 I will not fly with Spirit again and heard other complaints from other passengers. This will be a short-lived airline."

My self and traveling partner grabbed a sandwich returned to departing gate and plane was boarded and taxing away. They left early to make up for delay but we were not warned nor did they attempt to intercom us. We were 100 yards away. We had to take a flight 24 hours later and cost me $400 in hotel and a day's work. Very disappointed"

Assigned seating... even though we went with assigned seating, we still got to sit together, both directions! All issues considered, I would fly Spirit again, and I will encourage others to do so as well! Patrick"

So even though I bought the ticket last week and showed up over an hour early when I got on the flight there were no seats, the seat they said they gave to me 19A was filled with another passenger with a ticket saying 19A so they also did not know what they were doing. The crew told me to sit anywhere, but three of us ended up having to get off the plane. I ended up being stuck in Los Angeles and missing a million $ meeting. No appology, no credit for future flights was made or even attempted by the crew. I'm considering a lawsuit to be honest unless some very quick and good service is provided. The crew was rude and stressed and all about leaving on time. HORRIBLE."

Paperwork had to be done by hand and single supervisor working on another flight that she needed to get on ground before she could work on us. Everything extra. Need to pay step fees to get decent seat, reasonable amount of luggage, and even water. By the time you add all this up, not a bargain. Also they don't participate in TSA pre check so had to wait on lines even with this."

One suitcase is 38$, you have no carry-on free, carry-ons are even more expensive than a regulär suitcase. You just get one Personal item free, not more. Was on a Five hour flight to LA and got nothing. No food, not even water. For everything I had to pay. They don't have WiFi, no on board entertainment. The seats was small and uncomfortable. Oh and in teirs suitcases they just allow 18 kg, not 23 like everyone else. So I had 24 kg and they charged me 55$ for they overweight. Their Tickets might be cheap, but in the end for me it would have been better flying with another Airline."

Cons: "The Spirit counter had 2 people working and no customers. Would not give me a seat number. Gate agent had 40 people in line and was by herself. Seems odd to hold up people boarding while I got in line to get my seat number. Also the baggage fee really does suck. $50+ for a carry on was cheapest option. Passengers caused issues the whole time. Police called and met them on exit from the plane. Frontier is the better way to go out of the two sister airlines."

I know that more people per flight means lower fares, but you guys have pushed it too far. This was maybe the most uncomfortable flight of my life. Beyond the shitty seats, I couldn't check in to my flight using the website. It kept rejecting my password. I tried to reset my password and I kept getting error messages. So annoying."

Cons: "I took Spirit airlines years ago in an emergency. It was a terrible experience then. Mostly due to comfort and the condition of the airplane. It felt like we were sitting in a bare plastic container. The fare for this last trip appealed to me until I went to check in and was charged an extraordinary amount for checking a bag and for bringing a carry on on the plane. And then the charge to pick a seat? Please... the fare for this flight ended up being more than my return flight on a more premium airline where I would have gotten to select my seat and fly more comfortably. Worst policies ever. I will never be flying spirit again. That being said, I arrived to my destination safely."
