We arrived in Boston at 12:02 am, 11 1/2 hours after our arrival at JFK from Rome. This was not a very friendly welcome home. We never would have booked such an extended delay as we only live 4 hours from New York City."

After two hours we were allowed to get off the plane, 20 minutes later back onto the plane, backed away from the gate and then pulled into a different gate and were told to get back off the plane. At this point we were given no info or direction but to go talk to special services if we want to re-book a different flight (sold out until at the earliest 8:15pm). After about an hour they announce they are re-boarding the original plane, takes another 45 minutes to board the plane, then we are told two separate issues caused this lengthy delay one was a filter in the bathroom and the other was a thermostat... seems like very basic standard maintenance issues that could have been avoided with routine checks. We were offered zero compensation, the trip took over 6 hours in all to fly from Philadelphia PA to Boston MA; a trip I could have driven in less time. I continue to have issues with American Airlines and "mechanical" delays, the last flight i was on From Charlotte to Baltimore was delayed an hour due to a strap in the cargo area. I don't understand the logic behind the decisions made to hold the full plane over 5 hours instead of taking a 45 minute flight, but I will say the crew was very apologetic and handled the situation well."

Pros: "Someone was sick on the flight while baordjng and it took over an hour for clean up.. we were an hour and a half late. Snacks are ridiculous...really? All the airline can offer is a small bag of mixed pretzels? Think you should offer more choice or larger option for a 4 hour flight."
Pros: "Staff was great, and the few delays that occurred were fairly minimal and it was clear that the staff/pilot did their best to keep things timely"

Cons: "We were supposed to depart in the early morning. One and one-half hours before departure (so at the time one should already be at the airport), we received a text and an email indicating the flight was delayed. The delay was 12 hours. The flight was delayed one more time, and we finally departed 14 hours later. I asked the customer service rep about the reason for the delay, and he replied "that's a funny story." The reason was because the airline was understaffed and the crew needed to rest for 10 hours. That is not a funny story. We lost an entire day of vacation. Frontier sent by email a voucher for a small amount to be applied towards a future flight. After this terrible experience, I am very very hesitant to fly this airline again. The crew on the plane was nice. There was no flight to Denver, by the time we finally departed, we were put on a direct flight to our destination. The direct flight was nice, but we still lost an entire day of vacation. We had to rearrange all reservations and add an extra night in a hotel. The voucher in no way makes up for the loss of vacation and the extra expense in changing reservations."

I took a refund and went to Southwest where everyone was helpful and I was in Seattle by noon"

As a result we could not ski the first day of a ski trip."
