They gave me a free upgrade to a nice convertible Camaro because they didn’t have any sedans available. This did add $120 because I was afraid of getting the car messed up, but honestly it was cheaper than my original plans of renting a convertible through Turo (which wanted $567). Avis did the same experience (with free upgrade) for around $200 less! I was so afraid of getting charged for the car dirty, I brought the car to a hand car wash. One thing that they could have done better was explain how dirty is dirty. That way I wouldn’t have gone above and beyond and spend extra money to avoid getting higher penalties from Avis.Reviewed May 6 2023

I went with Avis due to all the long lines with the other companies. I showed up hopped in the Avis line & was next. While the budget line was long. One of the agents then told me there was only one line. Not happy at that point I stepped in line and waited 30 min just for the agent I finally saw say I had waited in the wrong line and that’s it. No sorry, just blamed the other guy. Never using Avis again. Not impressed with their idea of “luxury. Smashed plastic at speedometer. Cosmetically not up to par. They could have cleaned the car, I found papers and spills from the last people who rented the car from the sister company. On pick ups they should have someone there to talk to you about the car and go over all the dents, scratches, maybe been offered an up grade. Services at check in was not very good, all 3 people did different check ins I heard one ask if people wanted to up grade after they heard what they were getting, would have been nice to get.Reviewed Apr 1 2023

Overly strict on the pickup and dropoff timing. I wanted to pickup the car 45 mins ahead of my booking as I arrived earlier than expected. I was told that if i wanted to pickup the car then, i had to return it 45 mins earlier as well, or a full day would be charged. Otherwise I would have to sit around for 45 mins before I could pick it up. Its my first time experiencing this policy and level of inflexibility from any car rental provider. On the other hand, Alamo supported me with a flexible return time that was out of the usual business hours for no extra fee, and even threw in a free upgrade.Reviewed Apr 10 2022
