Location is great. Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Clean and very nice rooms. Next to great restaurants and transport. For a 5 star hotel, It seemed to lack some normal things would expect from them. The pool and exercise room were a bit small. No spa or other services on this. No doorman or service staff to bring up luggage. Concierge was only on duty for half the day.
Hotel was very well located. Close to main attractions, food and shopping and half a block from train station. Staff was helpful. We arrived early after a long train trip and they were able to acomcomodate us. Room was nice too. Room was very hot. We could not turn the heater down. We notified the hotel staff and they were able to lower the temperature a little bit but it was still warm. I woke up with a headache every day. It was the only inconvenience.

Location Close to Friedrichstreet station Hotel Room should be cleaned better. We found dust on the floor and desktops near the bed. Courtesy of the reception staff can be Improved by simply saying 'Hello' when entering the Lobby.
Staff was wonderful. Clean ... great experience. Highly recommend this place. Will go back again when in Berlin.

Very clean, very convenient location at train station, many restaurants around, centrally located. Did not eat at hotel at all. Could not get late check in. Did not try eating at hotel, many options just outside. Best was Dean and David salad bar... very fresh and many variations, just outside on a parallel alley.
Organised, cleanness, quite atmosphere, the amazing & comfortable location & the staff kindness). I didn't like that the internet is costly chargeable (This old system doesn't exist anywhere in the civil world anymore). The welcoming is not special (No welcoming water, fruits.....).
Location is great and view from room overlooking Gendarmenmarkt is fabulous and almost worth the price Expensive and restaurants are not that great
Very nice place to stay Breakfast is extremely expensive.
location nor free wifi
Very good restaurants and cafes close by. Many attractions within walking distance (Brandenburg Gate, Museum Island, etc.). The hotel charges 25 euro for in room internet access, and for the cost of the in-hotel laundry service, you can purchase a new wardrobe.
Clean , reception decoration , nice staff , so many TV channels , real good curtains reflecting the sun very good. No water to drink in the room Separated beds for a couples Expensive breakfast No one answering the phone in the reception for many times The rooms are so small WiFi isn't free In they end , it's very normal 4 stars hotel nothing to impress.
We had a great time at this hotel. The location is perfect and you can walk to a lot of different sites and the public transportation is really close, literally out the front door to get to one of the lines. The room was really quiet also. The bar was by far the best experience. We closed the Listo bar several nights during our stay and had a great time with the bartenders Jannick and Ole and the other bar staff as well.
They wanted a print out of my receipt for the hotel booking as I booked through kayak. I didn't have a print out so caused a minor issue at checkin
Executive club previleges were great.
Great value for my money and nice facilities.
Gorgeous decor and incredibly friendly and helpful staff - they were so good to us! We arrived well before the check in time started and they were still able to get us settled in to our room within minutes. For some reason, we were put in a room with two single beds? But honestly, we were so jet lagged it didn't really matter. The beds were VERY comfortable as well.
Comfortable room - very good service
The location. Lack of coffee and tea making facilities in the room.
The location was optimal.Breakfast buffet was all one could ask for. The concierge Mr. Lindner was especially friendly and helpful. I definitely would choose to stay there during my next visit.
central location no coffee making facilities, no kettle
Cleanliness , friendly staff, location , breakfast /food,very helpful staff Location of the room in proximity to the elevator Not enough towels, shampoo and conditioner Paying for the internet ,( not a big deal , but the fact that it's not free is annoying!
The great location of the hotel, perfect for sightseeing and shopping. The rich breakfast, and also the helpfull staff. I think the room was a little bit small.Apar from that, all other aspects were from fine to excellent.A very nice and convienient hotel in generall
The position of the hotel We were dissappointed there was no tea and coffee facilities in hotel.
Wonderful hotel, good location, nice pool and jacuzzi
excellent hotel in former east--good central location; staff friendly and efficient. garden view rooms are quietest and pleasant.
Lovely lobby, nice bath robes, the room was great! The pool staff was a bit snooty. The breakfast hostess tore up our ticket when we realized that breakfast was an additional 26 Euros per person and decided not to take it.
Room service was great, location was excellent. The staff was not flexible or terribly helpful - other than the concierge. Was surprised I had to pay for wifi in a hotel of this quality.
Comfort, design, location, elegance, exellent food in restaurant, excludingly comfortable bed, good service
Clean, comfortable and excellent location
The location was great! Checkpoint Charlie is right around the corner and the Brandenburg gate/Reichstag is easily within walking distance (10-15 minutes). We had a Deluxe room which was on the next to top floor. It had a big walkout patio with a good view of the city (great for our dogs). All of the other standard rooms had a tiny 3'x3' balcony. The room itself was very spacious, clean, and better than I expected. And last but not least.... the breakfast buffet was probably the best I've had in a hotel in Europe while traveling over the past few years. It was wonderful and we were very pleased with our stay. I cannot think of anything bad to say about our stay.
location was very good
Good location, clean room, value for the fare.
convenience of location The toilets for the ground floor are on the first floor
comfortable, relaxed, good service Breakfast very expensive
Location was very good, central, close to sites and very close to U-bahn (underground), which made the city very accessible. Information desk in lobby was very helpful and booked tickets for a show for us, gave map and directions and was very pleasant and helpful-sir, take a bow! Safe in room was very good and no charge. Comfy bed, great shower. Good all round. Didn't eat there, so cannot comment on food. Staff at initial check-in could have been friendlier, all staff after that were very helpful. We were charged €6 for large bottles of water left in the room. One would think a hotel of this standard could include this as complimentary.
location was great. room was very comfortable. no free wireless in rooms
The location, the acces to U-bahn, the service
Great location, beautiful room especially the bathroom and very friendly staff.
service, facility, location & rooms all top flight. very much worth the price.
Location, quiet rooms, friendly, happy staff. Deluxe linens. Comfortable beds, warm bathrooms. Staff is eager to please. After two stays at the Regent Berlin I can highly recommended staying there. I will stay there again. Computer in business kiosk a bit slow if you want to print boarding passes. Not of significance to me, but this is the only negative I can come up with.
The location is superb! So is the lobby of this luxurious hotel. The staff is very friendly and proactive, especially in the restaurant. WiFi is available only at the lobby although is declared to work in the room as well (at lest at the booking.com). The room is spacious but rather non-cosy...
Nice old style luxury
The location is fantastic. The rooms and bathrooms are what you'd expect of a 5-star hotel. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. The restaurant, although a 2-star Michelin rest, we thought didn't offer enough choices.
The hotel is beautiful and very conveniently located. The staff was very friendly and helpful; and the room was immaculate. Highly recommend.
Great rooms as opposed to typical European small room, bed was actually a queen not two singles put together. Staff English is exceptional, restaurant is very good, and has a gym. In a very nice part of town though those looking for more nightlife will need a short cab ride.
We liked best that everything was taking care of. They have a TAO and really live up to it. Splendid.
Excellent service. Staff had the correct service attitude.
Thought our room was excellent and location could not have been better.Staff was excellent and very helpful with any requests. I would not recomend getting a massage. Although I booked an hour for a total body massage, which I confirmed with the massuse prior to his starting he only did my back and head. When I inquired after why he did not turn me over to do the other side, he said for that I needed to book an hour and a half. What a rip off. Certainly not in keepimg with the standards of a Regent Hotel.
excellent staff and excellent food and excellent services- cleanliness -comfort
Standards of finish and cleanliness exceptionally high. Nice rooms - well equipped. Whilst the bar staff were nice, they were unable to mix cocktails! The Negroni cocktail is made of one part gin, one part vermouth rosso, and one part Campari, garnished with orange peel. It is considered an apéritif.
Clean room, wifi, good breakfast, good price, good staff
Location The bathtub filled with water up to my ankles and drained really slowly
modern hotel, spotlessly clean and comfortable in the heart of the city. very good value and the option of a continental breakfast in the bar, at 7.50 was really good. could not get the wifi to work on my iPad but there was a business area with 4 computers anyway for free. Highly recommended.
good location close to key attractions in Berlin plus discrete and competent service
Very good location - good access to the city center and the tourist attraction, quiet and sophisticated surroundings. Very good facilities at the price.
The hotel is very central. The rooms are simple, clean, good area, with a nice design flavour. Very central - nice restaurants and bars near the hotel. 2 duvets in one king size bed. Had to ask to refill the soap vessel and water in the room.
You made us feel special! nothing
Location, staff, room add spa! :)
comfortable location, style design, free of charge of standard number on superior, friendly staff. expensive breakfast
The internet should be improved as one had to log into wifi again and again several times a day, even if you had not left the hotel. The booking did not come through for 48 hours. The hotel is conveniently located in Berlin, has comfortable rooms and a nice breakfast, with vegan options.
Excellent staff and hotel and great value for money. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff response to our queries was instant. We had to plug in the ariel of the tv ourselves and the telephone wasn't plugged in. No clear instructions on how to contact Reception since the booklet said one number when it was in fact another one
the location was excellent and the rooms were comfortable and clean the staff were not helpfull or polite.
washroom was really clean ..like home Breakfast hall was too noisy and breakfast slightly too expensive, 15 Euros could be optimum
Best breakfast buffet I have ever seen!!
Location. Wifi should have been free. Didn't like having to share tables at breakfast.
Excellent location, in the same block of the Underground station and opposite the train station. Main attractions are within walking distance. Staff was friendly and we could agree a late check-out. Nothing
unbeatable location -literally at the steps to the major U bahn and S bahn station in historic Friedrichstrasse We were unlucky with our room (2nd floor facing the railway track, exceptionally noisy) Last time we stayed our room was a few floors higher and faced out onto Friedrichstrasse itself which was much quiter.
Excellent location, comfortable room, cosy hotel - not too large The fitness room is poorly equipped. Part of the rooms face the Friedrichstrasse railway station.
Comfortable, quiet room on backside, with big bed. Central location. A bed reading lamp was broken (repaired the next day), and the middle window blinds did not function (not repaired). Staff has no clue about shops and restaurants in the neighbourhood, apart from the Starbucks next door. There are excellent traditional coffee places around, much unlike the neigbours, but one has to discover these oneself. No free wireless on the room.
Great location right across the street from the Freidrich Strasse S-Bahn and U-Bahn station. The staff recommended several great places within walking distance for dinner. Construction during our stay caused some early morning noise. Probably not a problem any other week of the year.
The staff was very friendly/helpful. The hotel is very well located - within 100 yards of the Friedrichstrasse train station. There are many nice restaurants within walking distance and it is very well located for sightseeing For a hotel of this class and price, one would think that Internet access would be free. Also, wireless access is not available in all the rooms.
Location, clean Movies option on TV didn't work even after staff member came to the room to reboot. The only option they gave was to switch rooms. Hot chocolate extremely overpriced at €7.50
Very nice welcoming and service from the reception. Especially a man between 30-35 years (do not remember his name but he surely remembered mine during the whole stay) who made an outstanding impression. I really loved the design of the gym and especially the rings. The only thing I missed in the room was body lotion. With the new airport rules it is difficult to bring if you don't want to check in. Breakfast to expensive-you don't need a huge breakfast -a quality cup of coffee, fresh orange juice and newly baked bread is enough and for that 26 Euro is to much!
Room service even in the afternoon for towels refreshment
The location is great and quite historic. For a well located 5 star the hotel proved to be very good value for money. The staff were excellent and provided great personal service and aftercare. Good choice of restaurants and bars locally. I would have liked to see coffee making facilities in the room or available on the floor and I personally did not like the open bathroom design. However, overall would use the hotel again and I would recommend it to others.
We really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was very good, the staff was helpfull.
The sofitel berlin is nice The concergerie, they are terrible, they don't help you to find anithing because they don't know anithing about Berlin, and they send you to the worst places in berlin
Location, Comfort of Rooms, View on the Gendarmenmarkt, excellent personnel
The comfortable bed and extremely clean room Would have liked more water in room
Confort, location, reception. Comunication by phone, by occasion of reservation, was very good Nothing specific. I did not receive confirmation of my reservation through the internet and had to call the hotel.
Use of the Wellness/Fitness centre The poor quality of the food and coffee served by the roomservice
the location was great and the room was very nice. the decor was beautiful the room service was lacking (did not tidy up the room , soaps were constantly lacking). second problem was that there wasnt an electric pot (to make coffee or tea) in the room - something that is standart in 5 stars hotel
Excellent service, beautiful design, amazing location
One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Perfect in every way. I had the worst hamburger I have ever had at the bar downstairs.
Excellent room and food.
Great bathroom and amenities. Wonderful location and restoration on old bank building Internet charges seem high. Bed sheets should use higher thread count
Design, Location Restaurant Food very poor, bar very poorly run
concierge assistance was excellent overly enthusiastic waiting staff kept interrupting my breakfast
Staff were friendly and efficient Food was good The corridors were not air conditioned (or not operating) The room had no full length mirror
Service was very good It was a cold hotel everything was just functional.
Very comfortable - helpful staff - great location - luxurious spa and pool facilities. Wi-fi is not included in the room price and should be.
Pro: -This hotel is very close to the U6 stop which makes it easy to get to from TXL - It is like a block away from Checkpoint Charlie, several blocks from Topography of Terror. -There are several shops just across the street that have local artist/made souvenirs. -It is convienient to many places. I walked everywhere from this hotel. -The room is fairly large for an European hotel and is updated and very clean -nice walk in shower - the room included a double bed -i didn't eat at the restaurant but it looked nice. - Free apples everyday - The staff was incredibly friendly. I was give a map and points of interest were marked for me at check in - free WiFi - there was a towel heater in the bathroom Cons: - The area is under lots of construction. My room was on the 1st floor and there are new residences next door. As of April 2017 the construction has just completed the foundation so it will likely be going on for a while. I was only staying for 2 days, otherwise I would have asked for a room on the other side, away from construction. The construction started a 730. -there were no wash cloths - there was no conditioner or lotion - The breakfast was €17. There were tons of coffee houses and cafes nearby so it wasn't an issue.
This hotel was very cheap for a 4 star - but not cheap enough for the poor design of the room. Close to Check Point Charlie and the U Barn and had a supermarket and japanese restaurant around the corner. The rooms were very modern given it is a relatively new hotel. Staff were friendly. Automatic blinds as the room looked straight onto the incoming traffic on the main street. This hotel is hazardous to stay in! Tiny is an understatment. The room was so poorly designed that I left after two nights with numerous bruises. I know I paid for a standard room but I expected to be able to turn around in the shower without bruising myself and get in and out of bed without bruising myself and having to jump over things. Did I mention I am only 5ft 1 and 42kgs? There are separate doonas and the beds are small. The bed is surrounded by wooden edges which you are most like to bruise yourself on. There was also a hole in my sheets which made the flimsy foam mattress and cheap lumpy pillows even worse! Did I mention that the closet was smaller than a mini bar? Good luck fitting even 1 winter parka in there!
Excellent location, clean, good value for money. Small room
The service was excellent and the hotel staff were always polite and very helpful.
Very central, next to Gendarmenmarkt and at a walking distance of Unter den Linden. A design hotel, very clean and big. A perfect value for money. Moreover, the breakfast is big and has high quality Breakfast a little too expensive (12 euros). If you do not usually eat a lot in the morning, you have a cheaper cafeterias next to the hotel in Friedrichstrasse
It was very clean. Beds were comfortable, big bathroom. Good localization. We were missing small stuff like shampoo, body milk, or small toothpaste. This would be very useful, escpecialy for people who travel a lot, and stay in many places for a short time
The room was a good size with a bath & shower and a view overlooking Berlin streets , Location was very good for sightseeing, The staff were very helpful with information on where to eat , drink etc. and even booked resturants for us . We as a couple cannot fault the hotel in any way
Location was very good. It would have been nice to use lobbys internet without cost.
We appreciated the location of the hotel near the centre of the city, within walking distance of many major attractions. We had an upgraded room which we especially appreciated. Not sure what the regular rooms would have been like....
Very accessible The shower is a little too open and visible in twin rooms. This is a bit odd if you are not sharing with a partner.
Central location (next to Checkpoint Charlie) in the Mitte. Friendly staff who were never too busy to make you a cup of coffee at the bar.
ggod value for money. quality rooms and very helpfuş staff. food variety at breakfast was excellent
Comfortably large room for 3 persons. Good location at a historic site. Good front desk staff who guided us in chalking out our city trips. Good breakfast spread. One of the best Mercure hotels I have stayed in.
Great location, comfortable rooms and helpful staff. The breakfasts were relatively expensive but offered a wide selection of food - enough to last a morning of sightseeing!
An excellent and attentive staff - even kept the bar open specifically for our group of 8 persons. Nothing was a trouble to them. We all made gift purchases at the hotel... Our rooms were spotlessly clean and although not ready for us when we arrived at 9:30 (we did not expect them to be), the very helpful receptionist took our luggage and gave us tags to collect on our return. When we returned we received an excellent run-down of facilites available in the hotel prior to being given our keys. Couldn't fault the excellent breakfast and our meal (included as part of the Italian Weekend Break) was also excellent - we went off the main menu at very little cost!!! The staff in this restaurant were also very warm and welcoming and helpful. Our upgraded suites were perfect also. Couldn't fault this hotel in any way. Would recommend to anybody and hope to make a return visit. Everything was perfect - may be an idea to have tea/coffee making facilites in the rooms but we didn't miss same!!!
The convenience to the city centre & stations. The overall comfort.
The hotel had a family suite comprising of two double rooms which was ideal and very good value
Family Suite was excellent size and Hotel was very central Did not like the fact that the hotel had no restaurant for evening meals.
paid for an ordinary room but was upgraded to suite on arrival, not requested by me.Room was 11 metres long and normal width. best I have ever had. A luxury suite at 90 euros. Fairly good position next to Checkpoint Charlie. Close to U trains and Friedrickstrasse for me..........perfect........no complaints
Cozy, quiet and comfortable. Helpful and friendly staff. Very relaxing stay. Room was a little overheated. Breakfast was good but a little expensive.
Near downtown. Good communications (underground, etc). Free internet access and a free PC. I was very lucky because I booked a normal room and they gave me a suite
Location, staff & room quality
Comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast but very expensive. Unfriendly and inflexible receptionist on our arrival day.
Comfortable room, good bed(s) and well-equipped bathroom At first I was given a room for smokers, while I am a non-smoker and hate the smell of smoke, especially in a room I have to sleep. When I complained, at first I was told they did not have another room as the hotel was fully booked. Then a second employee, overhearing the conversation, said he would check once more and he found a non-smoking room for me.
Clean room Had to pay 20 euro for parking and no breakfast included. Hallway had a funny smell.
the room was nice, comfortable and quiet (no noise from the traffic). Excellent breakfast.
clean and quite central with attention to certain details, e.g. besides the light next to bed, there was also special reading light that would not disturb my room-mate who didn't want to read before sleeping. I also liked the fact that three pillows were provided to each bed and that there was a coffee machine in the room I think the breakfast was too pricey. We opted out, but it would be nice if we had had breakfast there too
Hotel was in an ecellent location 200 meters from a Ubahn station. We were able to access all major parts of the city very quickly from this location. The hotel was extremely clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and very responsive. We will make this our hotel of choice on future visits to Berlin. Guest should definately include the Buffet Breakfast in their booking or it can become very expensive if you pay the daily price of 21 euro per person per day. By including breakfast in our booking it only cost us 10 euro per person per day and it was well worth every penny.
Centraql to everything that we wanted and near an underground station.
Given a non smoking room that stank of smoke and when I complained was told I should have let them know immediatley and was I sure as it was a non smoking room
Despite a terrible male receptionist, the night shift of female receptionists were great. No Wifi at all! No one knew when it would be fixed, nor seemed to work on this issue, either! A male staff was extremely racey and insufficient. I honestly do not know what the hell is wrong with him.
The hotel was very central and close to all sightseeing attractions, bars and resturants. It was clean visually appealing and the staff were friendly and helpful.
the restaurant and location they did not have a swimming pool
Nice staff, polite and helpful. I think it's an expensive hotel and it needs refurbishment. It doesn't look like a 4*hotel (e.g. no shoe polisher, no tea/coffee in the room, the room smelled as if somebody had just smoked before I arrived, thou I had specifically asked for a no smoking room etc.)
friendly atmosphere, helpfull staff using the internet computer together with printer didný work. staff was helpfull to give me another opp.
very beatutiful. convenient for my purpose, good facilitie including pool, lounge with interent access
Staff members greeted us warmly and the lobby looked very luxe, so it was a good first impression. We found the room and bathroom to be very clean and of a good size for two people - not spacious, but pretty similar to most American budget chain hotel room sizes. The bathroom had a large countertop area for toiletries, and it was great to have some chairs in the room, too, so we didn't have to sit on the bed all the time. Sure, the carpet looked worn, but nothing else looked shabby and it didn't affect our comfort level at all. We always hung the "do not disturb" sign on the door overnight and were never bothered by housekeeping. Plus, the location was perfect - a block in one direction to the metro, and a block in the other direction to the bus. It was extremely convenient to get around, and close to plenty of restaurants, shops and things to do and see. We got an excellent deal on .Price..line. and were very happy with our stay. The water temperature in the shower fluctuated a bit during peak showering times. Also, the mattresses were harder than I'd like and thus not that comfortable for me, but that is subjective. Pillows were quite flat, but they happily sent us more when we asked.
Swimming pool Cigarette smoke smell
The hotel room smelled like smoke despite the staff leaving the window open. The room was tiny and the bed was practically a pull out. I use Kayak to book hotels and was disappointed by this choice especially considering the extremely high price I pay of over 350 dollars for a small twin bed.
Closeness to the start/finish of the Berlin Marathon Swiming pool water was very cold.
Thhe Breakfast Buffet was fine! The Hotel is really old and you see it in any corner! The carpets are from the 70´s the curtains were so dirty and even damaged! It was difficult to close the curtains to get darkness in the room to sleep. Even the uniforms of the staff were obviously used and old like the carpets! Not a good feeling to stay in that house.
I liked the pool and that they had bikes for rent. It was close to a lot of things which was very nice. Housekeeping woke us up every morning at 10 am. When I'm on vacation I don't want people coming into my room and waking me up. Any other hotel I've stayed in they don't start housekeeping until noon or so but I guess that's how it is here in Germany. The shower wasn't draining but they fixed that the last day we were there.
Stayed here during Berlin Marathon weekend. Chosen it because of location (500m from the start/finish). Very nice and convenient place. Overpriced, though. After booking I emailed hotel and asked whether the late check-out option is available. Was told that at some additional fee like 30-40 euros it is. However on Marathon weekend they cancelled that feature, which I knew only after arriving. Had to check out early - put some disorder in my plans.
We were given a suite which we hadn't booked but was perfect for a family with a sofa bed for our 2 year old and a cot for our baby. lots of space and comfort as a result. one of the reasons we chose the hotel was for the swimming pool which we thought would be nice with children. Unfortunately it was freezing cold, too cold for the baby and our 2 year old was shivering for an hour after using it!
Central location, the staff were friendly and helpful, all the rooms were clean and comfortable, the hotel has a very modern design and feel. The food and drink, especially breakfast, was very expensive
