Budget customer service told me that a shuttle would arrive to pick me up from dealership. None arrived. Called multiple times. No way to speak directly to the Raleigh location on Glenwood avenue.. Even customer service could not reach them. Took an Uber, and excuse was they had had no phone for several days. Location also hard to access, inside a crowded mall. Car smelled terrible- tons of sickly sweet “car freshener” trying to mask stale cigarette odor.Reviewed Oct 21 2023

Very hard to find location, and the first employee was incredibly unhelpful. Told us they only had mini vans when we could visibility see jeep car keys on the hook. When asked they finally gave us the jeep we booked. Took over an hour to get our car.Reviewed Oct 20 2022

Pros:Cancellation of rental was very easy and simple. The customer service representative was very nice and helpful and apologized for the situation.Cons:We scheduled our rental pick-up for 7pm. We didn’t know that the pick-up location closed at 7pm. We were unable to receive our rental. If closing time is at 7pm, then the last rental for the evening needs to be at 6:30pm.Reviewed May 15 2021

Pros:Considering the conditions of COVID, the young lady was very helpful and checked me in quickly and when I returned the car the same girl waited on me again and made my car return and easy transitionCons:The location in the mall is horrible, bad parking and hard to find. I drove around the mall twice before I was able to find the location of Budget. Also when I got in the car, it was clean, however the car had a strong marijuana odor. I did report this to the clerk at the counter, she made note of it. But because of the timing and the lack of cars available I went ahead and took the car anyhow. But it was unpleasant to drive a car with that odor when you are a non user and a non smoker.Reviewed Dec 29 2020

Top tips for renting a car from Budget in Raleigh

  • A study that was conducted several years ago found that Raleigh is the best city in the entire country to drive in. There isn’t usually much traffic in and around Raleigh on a normal day, so those who drive in the city often have pleasant experiences. If you’d like to make the most of this, try asking for a premium or luxury rental car when you book Budget car rentals in Raleigh. You’ll be able to get the chance to drive around in a nice car without having to worry about getting stuck in traffic all the time.
  • Raleigh is a lot larger than many people realize before visiting. It’s almost 150 square miles big, so many things are spread out throughout the area. Because of this, you might find yourself behind the wheel of your Budget rental car for longer than you anticipated, and you might also end up spending more money on gas than you planned. Ask Budget about possibly renting a fuel-friendly car that will cut down on how much gas you need to buy while also being great for the environment at the same time.
  • While driving in Raleigh is generally going to be a positive experience, there is a slight chance you might get confused at times as you drive around. Residents have sometimes complained about the confusion created by the street names in the city and the signage that is used. To get around these obstacles, consider asking Budget to provide you with a GPS system in your rental car for a small fee. It’ll keep you on the right track and prevent you from ever getting too lost.
  • Ideally, you won’t have to worry about canceling reservations after you book Budget car rentals in Raleigh. But if you have to do it, try not to wait until it’s too late. As long as you cancel a Budget rental car reservation more than 48 hours before it’s set to start, you will be able to sidestep cancellation fees. Budget has one of the more customer-friendly cancellation policies on the books for its rental cars.
  • 25% of our users found rental cars from Budget in Raleigh for $63 or less.
  • Book your rental car from Budget in Raleigh at least 7 days before your trip in order to get a below-average price.
  • Luxury rental cars from Budget in Raleigh are around -45% cheaper than other car types, on average.
