Cons: I wasn't informed that the office is closed on Saturday which is the day I had to return the car so when I arrived there was no one there - it was incredibly hot and I had to wait outside for a taxi to come get me.

almost double charged for insurance
Cons: after checking in to the car the desk lady tried to charge me 200 dollars for insurance. i had previously bought insurance on kayak. the desk lady said that they cannot see third party insurances. good thing i was paying attention after flying all day. also i forgot to fill the gas before drop off and they changed me 50 dollars for 1/4 tank of gas. that was my own fault but still not a pleasant experience.

Cons: $50 for prefilled gas is rediculus when the rental filled up with $15.

Pros: Shuttle there when I walked out, drove to the rental car office, checked in for my car, out in car within 15 minutes! Superior service and the best was choosing my own car from a row of 10 vehicles. Another awesome add on: Maps being provided on shuttle so, you could have handy to quickly glance while traveling.
Cons: The entire process was seamless - great job, Hertz!

not happy with the price or pick up location
Cons: I was quoted 150.00 and was charged over 300.00 I will not use your service or hertz ever again. Plus you had us scheduled 20 minutes away from the airport. I put in we were flying into Raleigh Durham airport. They said we could just use that location for 5.00 more. Then we up graded and she said it would be 150.89 with the pre paid gas. I will never use your service or Hertz again.

Pros: It was nice being able to pick the car. However, there were only three cars available.
Cons: When I picked up the car, the tire pressure light was lit. I checked the air in all tires, since I didn't know which tire it was! The next day, we had a flat! No spare! There was an inflation kit, but it works with the lighter/power port which was non functional! They were going to charge me over $80 for roadside assistance. Luckily, I have AAA. The tire was not able to be fixed, so I had to buy a tire! However, the manager of the Hertz did refund that cost.

Second time I've had a crappy car
Pros: The people at Hertz were nice.
Cons: I had to wait 30 minutes. I got a car with 37,000 miles, a stain on the drivers seat and out of alignment--it was like driving in a massage chair on the highway. This is the second time I have had a bad experience at Hertz. I am a GOLD Member. What ever happened to Hertz' #1 rating? I am done. Never again.

Cons: the location did not even have a representative or car there once I arrived had to call another location which was located more than 45 mins away which caused me to leave later than necessary for my trip arriving late and having to move the check in time as well

not able to get a car need refund
Cons: they would not release the car to me because someone in the company ordered it for me and they would not accept nay credit card other than the one that was taken when the reservation was made! this was an awful experience

Horrible Cancellation Policy
Cons: I called on the day of my rental with some bad news about my travel plans (flights delayed, had to get home for other issues) so I would not be able to pickup my rental car anymore. Unfortunately their policy is to charge you in full if you aren't able to pickup the car. So, I was charged in full for the three days I was supposed to rent this car. I understand there is typically a cancellation FEE associated with last minute cancellations. I didn't realize Hertz was so petty and charged people in full their full reservation when life happens. Too bad.

Easy, fast, efficient
Pros: Smooth process. Good price.
Cons: The car smelled like smoke. That was the only negative thing we experienced.

Costly 1 way trip!
Pros: One way in this rental cost way more than my one way Flight!!!!! I paid $89 to fly in and $270 to drive back to the same destination. Pretty messed up!

Pros: Comfortable & economical vehicle which met our needs well. Pick-up and drop-off were quick and easy. Personnel were pleasant, helpful, and professional.
Cons: Vibration in front end at 70 mph -- either alignment issue or a tire balancing problem -- made it less pleasant than it could have been.

Hidden fees, dishonest company
Pros: So called convenience when picking up, upcharged for services that I never used not agreed to, increased the cost 100 percent!
Cons: Almost twice the cost in hidden fees, and rude, unknowledgable customer service when trying to resolve the issue. I'm very disappointed in quality and service.

Pros: Pick up was easy, drop off was easy
Cons: The car smelled like cigarettes. My daughter has asthma, we had to ride with the windows down in 35 degree weather!

Pros: Ease of booking and price.
Cons: It was difficult to determine the interior size of the vehicle when booking. The Jeep Compass was too small for 4 adults and a car seat, so we had to upgrade to a larger vehicle to drive home, and incur additional costs.

Wouldn't let me cancel the rental
Pros: Hertz wouldn't let me cancel my car reservation even though my trip was cancelled two weeks before going. Not the service I'm used to.
Cons: I had to cancel my trip but still got to pay for the rental car. Seems dishonest to me.

My First Experience
Pros: This was my first experience for renting a car. People were helpful and very friendly. They offered to go get the car and I said no. Drove nice.
Cons: They never went over the car with me. It wasn't the cleanest. Inside was okay except the armrest looked dirty. The outside had marks on it near the trunk.

Cons: Did not have the vehicle that I had reserved . Reservation was for a minivan, but ended up in a big SUV. Third row seats very small and uncomfortable.

Got our Kicks on Route 66!
Pros: The car ( Toyota Corolla ) was comfortable, clean and got excellent gas mileage. We had the car for a month ( Drove from North Carolina to California and back) and had no problems at all.
Cons: Taking it back (I wanted to keep it!) lol Otherwise, I really have nothing negative to say.

Pros: This whole process was very easy. I even got the vehicle I ask for, I received a brand new Honda Santa Fe. The service with Hertz was perfect. Kayak made my trip memorable.

Pros: Rental process was fairly quick.
Cons: I failed to check the gas gauge before leaving and got 34 miles down the road and had to stop and fill up the car which had only a quarter of a tank in it. Spent a half an hour on the phone going through 9 different people before the last one told me she would put in the file that I was returning the car with half a tank as we agreed. Was going to return the car 8 hours early but was running behind and called to let them know I would be about an hour late and asked if my records show the gas agreement and was told no information was in the system about this. He said he would do it. Returned the car and was told again no information was in the system. Showed my gas receipt and the manager finally fixed the problem. Will never rent from Hertz again because of this.

Gas, dirty and late
Cons: They tried to charge me for gas, even though the needle was past the full mark, because I didn't have a receipt, which I was never told I needed. Guess it was on the 5 page contract. The car was dirty The car was not ready when I left the counter to go pick it up. Had to wait in line to be told they hadn't washed it yet.

Pros: Absolutely Nothing, customer service was terrible.
Cons: Rental car broke down I had to find transportation to pick up another rental at my expense. Not only did I jot get another rental no one seemed to care if I was provided transportation or not. I will never rent a car from Hertz again

Pros: Friendly and efficient staff. Office remarkably pleasant to be inside compared to other Hertz and other rental car compant offices. Vehicle drove well.
Cons: There did not seem to be a dropbox for after hours dropoff. Navigation device included in my particular rental does not turn off; the best I could do was turn the brightness to minimum.
