Pros: I noticed that shortly after I rented the car a third party insurance company that said they worked with Kayak
Charged me $135 for travel insururance that I didn't ask for. I didn't fill out any card information on The kayak site and I didn't approve any travel insurance.
I didn't travel I rented the hertz car at home. Kayak sent me to hurtz direct site and that's where I booked the car
And got insurance. Hurtz has their own insurance which I purchase they do not work with a third party.
The name of the company that charged me falsy was
Called ALLIENZ (or something close to that)
If it was for that my experience with Kayak would have been great.

Surprised it went so well
Pros: The young lady at the counter was very pleasant and easy to work with. The price was better than I expected on the web site, so I wondered about hidden fees at the check out point, but they did not appear. The car was very clean. I would be happy to rent a car from them again.

Reservation but no car
Cons: Reserved a car through the app, then arrived and was told there were no cars available. Fix your glitch - it shouldnt let someone reserve in this case!
Pros: Four days later I got an almost reasonable car.
Cons: I reserved a normal human car a month in advanced and got stuck with a cargo van. Then they had me go on a wild goose chase to 4 different locations roughly 30-40 minutes apart looking for an actual car. 3 locations had no cars. And the one location with cars wouldn't swap me out to anything. I wasted six hours driving around to figure this out. I couldn't have been much less satisfied. I never plan on seeking them out again. It's also a bummer to find out that they own Alamo and National car rental, so I'll be avoiding them as well.

Rating Not Applicable (since Enterprise cancelled
Pros: I was pleased to be able to confirm a reservation for a car via Kayak on Christmas weekend (on very short notice). Unfortunately, Enterprise called me around noon (after the reservation was confirmed around 9am) to tell me that they had to cancel my reservation (due to no car availability). It was disappointing to be granted a reservation only for it to be taken away. But Christmas weekend is kinda crazy, so I'll give Enterprise a pass. Fortunately my old 2000 Saturn (with 150,000 miles) got me from Albany NY to Fairfield CT and back .
