Pros:The car itself was fine. No problem driving it. However, there were scratches and dents around the car and on top of the car that I was not aware of but the agent receiving the car at the drop-off place pointed it out to me. The ez-pass holder attached to the windshield keeps on falling down.
Cons:The overall service of the agents is very poor. First, when I picked up my car at the Washington Dulles location, I found out that the car I booked which was specified as "special" is actually a compact car! This was not disclosed when I booked the "special " car. So I ended up upgrading and paying twice as much as my original quoted price. If I've known that from the beginning, I would have booked a car that is specifically a full-sized one for a lesser price from another rental car company. Secondly, when it was time to give me my car, the agent just pointed out to the parking lot where to get my car. So I have to haul all my luggages plus bring my wife who's in a wheelchair to the rough asphalted parking lot. The agent NEVER went to the car to do an inspection. When I noticed the scratches on the car, I asked one person who was passing by (an employee) about it and he said they don't care about those scratches. Then when I returned the car to another location which is Newark airport, the agent there asked for the inspection report and I told him I don't have one because there was NEVER an inspection in the first place. That is when he started pointing out the dents specifically on the top of the car which was not so obvious until it is pointed out to you. So he made me sign a claim for the damages of the car even though I didn't cause any of those damages. The people of Dollar rent a car are sneaky and will get your money and more! One good consolation is that I purchased a rental insurance so I used that for the claim. Getting the rental insurance ($11 per day) is worth it!
Cons:There was a question at the check in time of changing the drop off location which the agent had difficulty answering. The check in time was longer than expected in general but adding the question about the changing the dropoff extended that time to over an hour. The agent said 'the system was slow'. The additional amount to make the change would have been over $200 more so the change wasn't made. Futher, a call to customer service resulted long wait times on the phone and an even higher quote for the change. This after checking on line what it would cost to rent a new car and change drop off locals. The amount to rent a new car from dollar for the one day to make the change was only $50. The customer svc agent could not make the adjust and only change the $50 so we dropped the car off and rented from a different company with the different drop point and only paid approx. $40. Would not rent from Dollar again. Was not asking for a free change but the difference from $50 to $200 plus was unacceptable. Also found them difficult to communicate with in general

Cons:My bill was to been for $500 but I was charge 540 on my credit card I had drop the car without an attendant been in receipt of the vehicle and there was no explanation as to why the additional $40 was charged.

Cons:Terrible experience. Never again will I rent Dollar for anything. Off airport site had very very long lines to pick up and drop off. Very slow check in and drop off process even after the linds. Cars promised were not available. Substitute car was dirty inside and out and creaky with lots of miles on it. One the road I called to ask about using the EZ pass for tolls, which they had not discussed with me prior. After three tries and two dropped calls, Got the WORST customer service rep in history. She sounded comatose, was unresponsive, knew nothing so I gave up. TO top it all off, they then billed me for cleaning the car, which was dirty when I got it. Oh, and you can't appeal because they have no local number tha is answered. TERRIBLE in all respects. Never again!

Cons:Seeing the picture displayed I was excited renting a Chrysler 200 but when I reached the rental what they had given me was a stupid car
Pros:I liked the whole experience. The bus driver who picked me up at the airport was helpful and assisted with my luggage. The person at the counter was super nice, courteous and assisted me in every way possible.
Cons:When I booked my rental I intended to pick up the car at Dulles and drop it off at Ronald Reagan airport. There are no drop off charges when you place the reservation because the two airports are nearby. My confirmation e mail did not show that I am dropping off the car at a different location, hence, the person at the counter could not verify that. This is why he had to charge an extra fee for dropping the car off at a different location. Not a lot, but it was a surprise.
