A small, quiet, luxury hotel near to the Swiss/British cemetry and bordering onto a public park (too often used by dog owners). Nice bar and public rooms and a small dining room - the garden restaurant was closed during our winter stay. The staff were extremely helpful. Although the hotel is located in a good quiet position - only 12 minutes walk from the cathedral, the walk into town passing grimy buildings covered in graffity was depressing. The best route is down the SW side of the park and then in along Via Pietrapiana that leads to Via del Corso.
the hotel is old one, and it miss a lot of facility that we usually find in 5 star hotel... Sona...etc. the room is not comfort enough compare to value.
Very pleasant hotel in a good location. Concierge very helpful when we tried to find out whether the airport was closed or not due to the volcanic cloud. Nice garden area but were unable to use this as it rained throughout our stay. Bathroom cramped and could be updated. Our room was next to the lift, which made a peculiar creaking noise throughout the night.
Location near the city center, some rooms have nice view Poor breakfast, very expensive parking (taking into account the expensive room rate), overall very expensive for services provided
good location as easy to walk to city centre, lovely surroundings. rooms large and airy, nice orginality to them .resturant is also good and breakfast lovely. no
The bathroom tub was quite dirty, the lights had a constant problem, the staff was not very friendly.
their satff and cooperation if we ask about material that we need during pour stay. I would rated this hotel as two or three stars hotel maximum. I was decieved and shocked as it is rated as five stars hotel in internet web page. Room are stated for three occumpants in one bed room and beds just facing each others no roomto walk in between, bath room door with no lock?, small TV screen? It is absolulety does not worth the money we paid for the stay.
It is close to railroad station and downtown. Staff are proffessional and rooms are clean. We used two rooms. Very nice hotel. None
I have been travelling in Italy for 2 months and this hotel is the best. The position is perfect, the view sensational. Rooms comfy and spotlessly clean. Staff friendly and efficient and are smiling which is rare in customer service in Italy. The restaurant has a wonderful view of Florence, the ambiance and service from the staff are great. A very comfortable and ejoyable stay..10 from me
Centrally located, easy to walk all over the downtown area. The employees were very friendly and helpful, and the view from the restaurant during breakfast was outstanding!
I was t Baglioni Hotel for the Florence marathon. I have apprreciated everything, the location, distance to the train station and to the city center (Piazza del Duomo is only 5min walking). Breakfast, very good selection of food, is at the 5th floor with amazing view of the Duomo and Giotto campanile. Staff was gentle and helpul and let me use the room until 2pm (after the race) without charging the extra time (usual check out is 12). great stay, Thank you
The rooftop garden restaraunt panoramic view is breathe taking! the food was delicious pricey but well worth every bite. The service was very classy, polite, attentive and friendly the staff made me and my two daughters feel very special. The waiter brought my daughter a shawl when he saw that she was cold and offered us one as well. Our room had a window with a view for people watching, the maid kept our room very clean, every evening when we arrived back from a long day our beds would be turned down waiting for us. The location of the hotel was perfect every thing in walking distance. Doormen and bell hops very friendly and courtesy. The gentleman that checked us in was friendly and welcoming and accommodate us with a bigger room when we revealed to him that our room was too small for 3 girls. We were hoping to see him again next day to thank him but we never saw him again. The breakfast is wonderful and delicious! Lots of food even at 945! i love the historical story of the hotel and old pictures of the hotel in the past. The antique furniture, history, and decor can only be appreciated by historical buffs. A historical beauty! Some of the front desk staff were snooty and not very welcoming. The first gentleman we met was friendly we saw him only once out of the six days we were there. When I did ask questions front desk staff very short and make you feel like you are troubling them. The first room #145 was way to small for a mom and two teenage girls. I had adapters for my phone and the only one it would fit in was the bathroom. The Internet is very weak (which I knew coming in seems to be # 1 complaint). When you first walk thru revolving doors there is a woman sitting at a table not sure if she is with hotel however she is not very welcoming she is first person you see and she does not smile or say hello she does not make eye contact she is setting the tone and it is not good, smile say Bon Journo!
We liked staying in a well maintained older hotel. Rich dark wood throughout, stained glass windows, and a view of Florence from the rooftop terrace that is unbeatable. Staff was helpful. We had a water leak in the bathroom that we couldn't pinpoint, but the smell wasn't reassuring.
The beds were extremely hard.
The location cannot be beat. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was awesome. And the staff were friendly. The only drawback was that the walls are too thin and you can hear a lot of what goes on in the room next door.
Very nice hotel . Old but when you walk in a room looks totally different . White tiles in bathrooms and all very clean and good quality with and charm . Beds a little hard but dig. Great quite rooms looking over inside gurden. Restaurant overlooking all Florance at breakfast and also for dinner with many outside tables . Stuff very friendly and helpful , concierge knows their stuff , ask for their suggesting if you need to travel around. Everything
The hotel is right in front of the train station and in walking didtance of the shopping and sites. Staff very friendly and nice The rooms are quite old and kind of a musty smell
The hotel is situated in a good shopping and sight-seeing district and is very beautiful. The floors in the room were beautiful but very slippery.
Location and interior of the hotel lobby and rooms. Internet connection available (for a fee). Room felt outdated - maybe as in all old 4/5-star hotels in Italy.
Professional & friendly staff Cleanliness of rooms
cleanliness and shower. Bes tshower ever. The bed was extremely unconrtable, I have suffered back ache in the morning.
polite and helpful staff; comfortable and clean rooms; large bathrooms; good breakfast every morning with a variety of items: croissants, fruits, yogurt, cereal, rolls and antipasto meats. Great way to begin your day.
Beautiful hotel in a convenient location, very polite and helpful staff & an amazing breakfast to start your day! :)
Staff were very welcoming. I can't think of any bad points!!!
Excellent location Not enough stuff. Cleeanliness of the room and the rest was not the same.
Peace and quiet Shower
The location is excellent. It's close to almost all the famous places such the Uffizi, Palazzo Strozzi, Palazzo de Medici, Pitti Palace, Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo and La Galleria de Accademia (Michaelangelo's David).
Super frienly staff! Some noise from another room.
Centre location I am totally unsatisfied with this "4 stars" hotel. I think it can not be qualified as 4 star. Rooms are small and noisy, dated interior, mirrow covered with mould. It was not a pleasent stay at all.
nice and helpful staff, the convenient location The hotel is old and needs the repair. The very small bathtub in the bathroom. The standard of the hotel rather two stars and not four. On the breakfast the very small choice of the food. The hotel is dirty generally. I do not command this hotel. The price is not adequate to the standard.
The location is great and Hotel staff is very helpful. The room is a little bit too dark.
Location is the best, u can start there your journey and walk around through all the center of the city. Hotel staff was really nice. My single room was ok, even bigger, than i was excepted. Had little problems with hot water, but not all the time.
The staff and the location, very close to the Duomo. The room and the bathroom was very, very, very old!!!
Air conditioning, Noise from traffic
Excellent staff, very knowledgable, friendly and helpful; great central location, good buffet breakfast and reasonable value at sixty per night per double. Shabby, old, unpainted, hard beds, lumpy pillows, noisy, definitely not four star.
The location is good. Especially the parking service. Lighting in the room is a little bit too dark.
breakfast in a bad state, need repair
Wonderfully close to the Duomo and therefore great for sightseeing. Staff were helpful. Needed an iron, wasn't allowed one in the room (!). Had to go up to the staff quarters, very unpleasant room with a filthy floor (not great for ironing a white dress shirt). Irons in rooms are standard at so many hotels, this place needs to catch up!! Different rates for wi fi than those quoted on website - annoying as was reason I chose this hotel over another.
The location was great. Easy to get to the outdoor market, the train station and all different types of resturants. It was easy to book day trips with the front desk and they were very kind for the most part. I had two superior double rooms and there were no views out of either room. The mattress was the hardest I have ever had.
Central location. Excellent and attractive room. Good breakfast.
We were two couples occupying two rooms. Air conditioning did not work in either of the two rooms. At around midnight, a terrible noise emanating from the internal courtyard would not let us sleep, and the receptionist explained that the noise was due to the septic cleaning activity that would only performed at night. The above noted septic-related activity lead to an incredibly disgusting smell that quickly propagated through windows and vent openings. The front desk staff proved to be extremely rude and useless.
It was a bit difficult to find it, but it is very close to the rail station and a 5 min was to the Duomo. Not so comfortable mattress, but clean and comfy rooms. The complementary breakfast was amazing. Not so comfortable mattress
I lked the staff and I also had a very spacious room. The bathroom was very small.
Location and raymond the the only staff that was nice and courteous in the hotel. Rooms are relatively new but very dirty, u can smell the toilet. Stains in the sink. Receptionist have no manners what so ever.
It was pretty shitty considering my reservation was cancelled by you guys and had to find somewear else to stay that day and no one know what the fuck was going on! Inconsiderate assholes! Wish you wouldn't have cancled my fucking reservation. .
Stuff we liked: 1. The location was hard to beat - we could walk everywhere. 2. The free breakfast in the morning was a nice way to start the day. 3. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful - got us reserved tickets into Ufizzi and Academia and provided helpful suggestions. 4. Room was clean and bathroom was on par for what I have come to expect from Italy. Air conditioning and wifi were nice to have. To be honest, we were really pleased with the place considering price, location, and friendliness of staff. The one thing I would say is that the bed - while not uncomfortable and completely adequate - was not an incredibly comfortable bed. But it worked - we slept great.
Very convieniant location to sites of interest & transport links Nothing
Nice situated in the centre of Florence. Good atmosphere. the elevator, but steps are fine for you health
Very helpful staff. helped with early arrival, booking a tour since we had limited time. even extra help with things like charging a Kindle device.
The location is exellent, near the train station and quite central. The breakfast is very good. the rooms are quiet, the matress confortable. The shower although a bit too small had a good pressure and plenty of hot water. The lighting of the room is not sufficient.
This is a beautiful hotel right in the heart of Florence. It is steps away from the Duomo, but tucked away so that it is quiet and seems to be off the beaten path...perfect location! The hotel is beautiful and the staff is attentive. The lobby is very comfortable, lots of attention to detail. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast is lovely, with many options.....something for everyone. This is our second stay at this hotel and we will return. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
The hotel was clean, wifi worked well (but the pw was too long), good breakfast, polite staff, able to give a good advise for a restaurant. The location is also very good, just few minutes walk from the major touristic attractions. Unfortunately the bed was too short and even if I could sleep, the quality of my sleep has suffered. The room was also rather small, no slippers in the room.
Spacious clean room, free internet in the room, breakast terrace the shower was damaged
the breakfast parking price
historical centre it is not easy to come to the hotel with the car, hotel has no parking, paking is too expensive.
the location, could not have been better the staff was v unfriendly and un helpful.they need to be more welcoming
Location Location. You are a brisk short walk to the Galleria and Duomo. The price point for this hotel given its location is a steal. Very friendly service. Nice breakfast.
The location is quite good, which is in the heart of downtown. The bathroom is very big and comfortable. There're many useful sockets in the room. Nothing to complain.
Toured Florence and surrounding area. Canned fruit at breakfast, rather than fresh fruit. Only one computer for guests' use.
Centrally sited with lovely views from breakfast terrace. Clean and efficiently run. Tea and coffee facilities not automatic. Have to ask for each day.
Helpfull staff/ excellent location, good sized rooms
location and very clean hotel every thing was perfect
The staff were very polite and offered to compensate us with a dinner for the inconvenience caused by the renovation works. Our room was right across from the breakfast room. I didn't like the noise from there in the mornings, which prevented us from sleeping after 8h.
good staff. easy access to central city. good breakfast I couldn't use the internet
the staff, the location the breakfast, missing eggs and youghurt anc cheese
Great staff- they were always incredibly friendly and helpful The room was a bit strange of a layout and could use some modernizing. The only true negative was that we believe my husband got food poisoning from the yogurt served at the breakfast. It was in a dispenser rather than individual containers so that was suspect to begin with.
We liked the willingness of the manager Mr. Joseph that made everything possible to make our stay confortable.
The location is teriffic, very close to all the main squares and attractions of Florence, 5 minutes walk to Duomo. The rooms have all been modified to a nice standard. Breakfast is quite good. We travelled as a wedding party and the hotel manager tried to get us to forsake one or two of our pre-paid rooms and share with each other, so that he could sell it to someone else. We refused of course and he didn't put up any further resistance thankfully. No air conditioning in some rooms incluing ours, which made it hot and difficult to sleep without a fan blowing on you. We got bitten by a good few mosquitos during September!
I didn't actually get to stay here due to renovations, but the place I did stay probably wasn't that far off in terms of quality.
The position is excellent. It is handy to all the major sites like the Duomo and is only about 15 minutes walk from the station. I think it may have just changed ownership and that there is a lot of refurbishment going on. For us the Air conditioning did not work but I am sure this will be fixed.
Friendly staff and the hotel is very central En-suite building site that we were assured would not interrupt our stay, it did. We should have been given a different room. And there was a party outside our window from until 2am on one of the nights, not the hotels fault but still very noisy.
Friendly staff and good location Hotel is under renovation. Perhaps need to renovate also entrace hall and mentione lack of elevator in informations due to steep narrow steps. We had early flight and there isn't doorbell inside hotel to wake-up reception but outher doorbell rescued situation.
location no english tv
I liked the room with a view to an beautiful garden. I liked to stay in the garden. I liked the breakfast. The personal was very kind too.
price , position , garden it has to be renovired soon !
Close top the centre. Beautiful garden, compensating the s,all rooms. It was like an oasis. Room 124 has the air condinioning not working.
Not very clean rooms and very old decoration
Central Location. You could walk everywhere.
Personnel was very friendly and useful. Breakfast was quiet good. I also liked the parking option - driver from the nearest garage comes to take your car there and back. Location is close to Central Market and Railway Station. It can be a good choice if you want to save money. It may be a good choice also for dog owners - you will have enough space to walk your dog on Piazza Independenza. Otherwise I would not recommend this hotel. It is old, dirty and uncomfortable and doesn't look like 3 star hotel.
The breakfast is good and worth the price. the cleanness and comfort.
good location How is it possbile that a hotel with three stars does not have a fridge in its rooms ? The receptionist was arrogant. Showed no attitude for good service.
Location Used by school children. Very noisy!
it was clean I think a small refrigerator could be necessary, and during renovation (one room in my floor) more order.
I do a lot of travel, and I have to say this is a great boutique hotel , really nice atmosphere. The hotel has a nice diningroom with a great menu. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are super clean.( which is a must) . Great location.
I can't state how helpful this hotel staff was. From check-in to check out, they handled everything. The hotel is short on frills, but the staff alone is worth the stay. the shower - weak pressure, barely warm, took a few days to fix, but it eventually got to tepid, so good for water conservation!
A classic Italian hotel, in a quiet location yet close to the railway and bus stations, and within easy walking distance of the main city sights.

Friendly staff Bar was dead.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. The location is great and very quiet. Our hotel room was clean and comfortable.
we were impressed with the level of personal service that whilst very helpful was never intrusive. Perhaps one word of caution was that as our bedroom dooor opened outwards we nearly tripped over the vacuum cleaner pipe that was plugged into the wall by our room. The sort of thing that could easily give rise to a liability claim.
Comfort and location for our city trip.
The location of the place and near the center and the train terminal.
Good service from staff, good standard of cleanliness, quiet location although nice and central.
very convenient location, lovely room, comfy bed!
The courteous staff and the facilities available. They were renovating a room above ours and the noise was too early, but this is not a criticism of the hotel itself
The comfort of the room and the location of the hotel was exellent. The central location couldn't be beat by any other hotel. The lack of English television stations and the small, hard to see from the bed television set. Also, I didn't like that you charge for internet when paying a relatively high price for the room.
Location is excellent, just a couple blocks from the train station and also a couple bloks from the Duomo. The facilities could very well use an update.
location and cleanliness the size of the room - for the 1st night I stayed in 209 - very small, no place to move around. however, starting with the 2nd night I've been given a much better room on the 4th floor.
The location was superb. Staff helpful. Room was adequate-- clean if a bit small. Breakfast was good--variety and quality. There was a noticeably unpleasant odor in the lobby, Fortunately, it did not carry up to the rooms, or we would have had to find other accommodations. The breakfast was good, but the manner of greeting and seating guests was disorganized. The coffee was horrible--tasted instant and burned and was seldom really hot. This is especially disappointing given that Italy has such wonderful coffees elsewhere.
The location of the hotel is good, the room is nice and comfortable, the breakfast was good. More TV programmes in English especially on News would certainly be welcome.
Location, Room Comfort, Excellent Sound Proofing even though looking onto a busy road, helpful staff.
Comfort and Convenience
size of room , location, bed, cleaning
Great location in the city centre, very friendly and helpful staff and a room that was big on comfort and for a city centre location so quiet
The room is very nice and the bed is very comfortable.
The hotel is an old palazzo and is absolutely stunning. The mattresses and pillow are too hard for today's taste. Even having softer pillows would help greatly. It was hard to sleep on such hard mattresses.
I loved my stay at the Monna Lisa. It is perfectly situated for anyone taking advantage of the many tourist destinations in town yet near the edge enough that you feel like you live there. The staff was magnificently friendly and the hotel was wonderfully appointed. Regina at the front desk was fantastic and even got me a rush ticket to the Accademia. Mil Grazie! I never write reviews, but the Monna Lisa deserves one!
We have had several opportunities to stay at the Mona Lisa and have never been disappointed. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the charm and accommodations of the hotel exceptional!
Check out person was rude, very unfriendy
We had stayed at three hotels in different cities prior to our stay in Florence. All four of us agreed it was far superior to any other hotel we stayed in.
Great location. Lovely premises. No.
I loved the hotel itself. I wanted a hotel with character and history and the public areas were just that. It was beautiful and felt old in a wonderfully historical way. Breakfast was fine and included breads and cereal mostly. The location was perfect, just a couple minutes to walk to the Duomo. Of course, the historical part of Florence is pretty small, so it was also easy to walk to any of the sights I wanted to see. The hotel and the room were also quiet. The staff also recommended an excellent restaurant that was just down the street and made a reservation for me (La Giostra). I reserved a Superior room and am just not sure that's what I actually got. My room was super small and in the annex building with a shower stall that was hard to move around in. Not at all sure there was anything "superior" about this room. I was hoping for a room with more character and history, something in the main building. I should have emailed prior to arriving and requested my room be in the main building. None the less, it was comfortable, if somewhat disappointing.
very Italian with original art and has a beatiful gardin.Breakfast a bonus. Great location. Don't be folled
This hotel was chosen for its location in historic area of Firenze and ease of walking distance to the Duomo, Uffizi, museums, shops etc..Also it has its own parking; although it was quite difficult to enter with a large size car but that is the historic center of Firenze. The building is a 13 century palazzo with charming reception area, reading room and impressive breakfast room that served a delicious buffet style breakfast. The staff was very knowledgeable and spoke many languages. I had emailed the hotel for them to make reservations for ticket to the Uffizi on the day that I needed since they were unavailable online. The hotel did so with the same charge as the online site. Definitely will return to Monna Lisa and recommemd it to al One should ask for the interior courtyard facing rooms of the main building because of the traffic noise on Borgo Pinti or for the rooms overlooking the garden. We had 2 rooms changed and the staff was most accomodating to make our stay enjoyable. But beware of the mosquitoes even if the temperature is 14C! so don't open your windows at night.
The location was handy to many local attractions and places to eat. I thought the setting of the breakfast room was superb. It was a beautiful room with a great view out into the courtyard.. I was more than happy with my experience at the Monna Lisa.I was on the ground floor so I was not certain if there was an elevator, this could be a problem for some people and again I am not sure if this was mentio ned on your website.
The room was wonderful. Amazing antique furniture and art work. The location could not be better for a Florence sightseeing vacation. Breakfasts were excellent.
Very very nice hotel, nice staff, good location, relaxing... should be there when you are in Florance
