The car was not fully charged on pick up and we had to stop to charge and as a result a2.5 hour journey took us 5.5hours. My heavily pregnant wife was very stressed. There were no charger points available nor working when we stopped to charge. We then made it with 8miles left on the battery to the next charging station. We picked up my daughter 2hours late and that created further problems for the family looking after my daughter. They missed their connection to Ireland. The 155miles return journey to Gatwick we only just made again with less than 20miles left on the battery. We were assured the car would travel 255miles on a full charge. But it didnt ! All in all we had an awful experience and a very stressful journey, concerned all the way for my heavily pregnant wife. The girl at budget/Avis desk was Polish and her english language was very poor. I do need a car again Monday 4th for 1day hire again from Gatwick to take my daughter back to school and will use your search engine, but would be extremely concerned if we ended up with a hire from Budget again.

I love giving places the benefit of the doubt. I had a two hour wait for my car bc y out guys messed up scheduling for your staff. The staff was great- this is a company problem. Lovely people at the desk- poor management by budget. If picking up a car takes longer than the flight then there’s a serious problem with your company. This is not the first time I’ve had this experience with you. However, I was willing to leave this alone and deal with the situation. Then I turned in my car and got a bill for 70 more for a 45 minute over charge. You guys were two hours late giving us cars and have the audacity to try to charge 70 for 45 minutes? Which I turned the car in within the time alotted and there was no one who suggested it wasn’t there on time. I’m not sure when they got it checked in after I left it. But it is there. Also it’s cleaner than when I got it. The main reason I’m not going to write you an official negative review is that you had an amazing customer service rep who fixed the problem on the phone. You are so lucky to have some great staff that keeps covering for your companies mistakes. The people deserve a raise for dealing with the lack of structure, billing issues, work force issues, and overall unconcern the company has for the time it wastes of its customers. Your staff is saving you.

Everything was great from start to finish on our one-way rental from the Central Valley to Palm Springs. Staff at our pickup and our dropoff locations were friendly and easy to interact with. The car itself (Toyota Corolla Cross) was great, especially when we encountered some light snow on the drive over the mountains.

The staff Tyrese and Cameron were wonderful, very courteous and took time to listen to my concerns and got us in a car that was suitable for our needs. Initially when we arrived and although we booked the reservation 4 months in advance, the car we reserved was not there. we had to wait for them to clean a car for us. Which was too small for 4 people, but Tyrese worked with us and got us into a suitable car. When we dropped off the car Cameron was very attentive and waited while we doubled checked to see that we did not leave anything in the car. Both Tyrese and Cameron were helpful and asked if there was anything else they could help us with or if we had any problems to let them know and they would assist. Which is why I gave the higher review, eventhough we were disappointed that we reserved a car 4 months in advanced and the car was not there or ready when we arrived at the pick up time. If you pre-reserve a car the location should guarantee they have the cars there when you arrive, vs making you wait for them to locate something for you. What is the purpose of pre-reserving :(

Did not like the fact that I was using a credit card and had to have an additional $300 on hold on top of the cost of my rental.

Pros:

Pickup in Fresno was good. Drove car to Monterey and on my way back my tire showed low and my service guy said stem was broken and not to drive and to take it to Enterprise in Monterey. I believe the ladies name was Tina. She was no help, said she had no cars and it was not her problem because I did not rent the car in Monterey. I could call the airport or take to their shop but would have to wait a day. She tried to dismiss me, but After much discussion SHE reluctantly, after making other calls, called the airport and claimed they only had a 15 passenger. After more discussion she finally called their shop and they said to come over and they would fix. They were very nice and I was out of there in 30 minutes. All of this could have been avoided if she had done that in the first place. She was matter of fact and dismissive with no customer service.I arrived in Fresno in time to return car. They were very nice.

The people working for Alamo were super nice. Checking in was a little long since there was only one person running the counter. But it was late at night so that’s to be expected. Actually getting the car and returning the car was fast and easy. Would definitely rent from them again!

Truck was in good condition and drove well. Moderately clean, although obvious drink spills only partially cleaned up. The hour wait for pick-up was obnoxious since I was 5th in line and there were two people working the counter. Clearly their system sucks and they don’t care. Definitely going with enterprise next time.

Pros:

The vehicle worked perfectly for my family. We paid for a mid-size SUV and got a slight upgrade. The upgrade was comfortable and easy to use. First time using Alamo and it was a pretty seamless experience. Drop-off was fast.

Cons:

There was a line and a wait when we first got to the rental car counter. It seemed like all the counters were understaffed and I waited a good 30 minutes before I got the keys and left.

Cons:

Alamo did not honor the agreed amount. They also did not have tha vehicle that was promised. Told me they gave me an up grade and then charged me for it. Your price 225.00 counter price 445.00. Never again!

When we arrived at the Airport. We casually walked to the Rental car area. We were told that they didn't have a mid-size suv. We had to wait over an hour for them to upgrade us to a full size SUV.

Good overall. Vehicle wasn’t cleaned well when we got it and it appeared to have papers from two previous renters in it but other than that i was happy. Picking up and dropping off were quick simple processes and they allowed other drivers in the family to drive as well. I plan to use them again.

1. The employee who checked us on was rude, Curt, and had a "can't be bothered by your questions" attitude. 2. When we sat in the car, we realized someone has been smoking something very strong in there. When I went to the counter to let them know, I wasn't offered any solutions, just "Oh, I didn't smell anything in there." The smell was annotated on only my copy of the contract because the "couldn't be bothered" person hadn't put my paperwork away properly, and they couldn't locate it. I am sincerely hoping I don't get charged for that smell, especially because it gave my entire family horrible headaches after driving 45 minutes to our hotel. We had to: crack the windows on the highway, leave open chips of coffee to try to neutralize the smell, spray with air freshener, leave the windows down overnight, and leave the doors and trunk wide open for thirty minutes before our trip this morning. 3. When I picked up the car, I told the employee we'd have to extend a day. She said, "Okay" and didn't offer any kind of important warnings such as "We close at 5 p.m." and "We don't have an overnight drop-off." When we were en route to return the car and called to remind them we would be returning it this afternoon, she informed me of those crucial pieces of information and said, "Well, we always close at 5." That was it. No solutions, no pointing me in the right direction. For every question I had, she acted as though I should know the answer or find it on my own (I was *driving* and had *told* her that). It was very frustrating. I finally had to have my friend call from a different number and speak with the manager about how to find a solution. It was very, very frustrating, to stay the least. Overall, the car was in great shape, but the smell was so horrible we wrote our masks while traveling. The customer service was lacking severely - recommend the female employee receive training on how to provide complete information to customers and on how to treat customers with some sort of welcoming warmth.

The car was dirty when picked up. They had to give it a quick vacuum before they gave me the keys, but when I got in there were still crumbs all over the front of the vehicle, grass in the trunk and garbage in the door pockets. Plus there was only 1/4 tank of fuel. Dropoff at the airport was a bit confusing, and although still open, the Hertz booth was unoccupied to assist.

My reservation was prepaid, the agent asked for the same credit card for the deposit, I didn't have the card at the time, I had other credit cards, but he didn't accept any of my credit cards for the deposit, he ended up making a new rental agreement, he gave me the same vehicle, but ended up charging me $204.15 instead of the $96.15 was was already prepaid. I was not happy with that, I will never use Hertz anymore.

When we arrived, they had our reservation but no car! The person at the counter was of no help and said that he could neither give us another car nor cancel the reservation. I was told that perhaps they would have a car in 40-50 minutes. He finally called me 2 hours later. In the meantime, I called Kayak, cancelled the reservation, and walked two counters down where Enterprise rented a car for LESS than what the original reservation would have been at Thrift. Thrifty has lost a customer for life. How do you reserve a car and then not have a car? Unbelievable!

Pros:

The reservation process was easy. The SUV was clean, and pick up was fast and easy. The employees at the counter inside the airport were friendly and expedient. I did have to walk back inside the airport to the desk to return it, but other than that, the return process was smooth, quick, and friendly.

Cons:

The reservation and service was great, though the price was a bit steep. It was a last-minute reservation; however, so that is just how it is. I didn't like some of the features of the SUV. The high beams flickered on and off at will while we were navigating curvy mountain roads in the dark. I did NOT enjoy this. The suspension wasn't as smooth, nor the handling as tight as the Jeep Cherokee we rented the following weekend from a different company.

Pick up was not good. I was told that I couldn't use my company credit card that I used to book the reservation online because my first name on the card was different than my driver's license (it is my nickname on the credit card). This was the first time in 20 years it has ever been a problem and the rep asked me if it was the first time I rented from Thrifty because this is how the system works. I didn't really appreciate that as an answer. She then says when I come back she can switch the credit cards. I asked her why she didn't lead with that at the beginning of the conversation versus quoting me company policy. Another concern was insurance coverage (company versus personal based on the credit card on file). The drop off was a little better. The line was really long and nowhere does it say you have to stay in line to drop off. Luckily I asked because I was in a hurry (and didn't have to wait in line). The issue here was switching the credit cards which would require me to wait in line. The rep said to write my email down and they would send the final receipt later in the day. I did not receive the email as promised. I called two days later and finally received the second part of the bill (first part on my company credit card, second part on my personal credit card). The experience with Thrifty was OK at best. I'll likely choose a different rental car company in the future. Thank you.

Made advance reservation weeks ahead of time and pre paid. Arrived at the airport and I was informed that dollar and hertz did not hold any cars for me even though I had made the reservation confirmed it 24 hours ahead as requested. I am now having to waste my time to try to get reimbursement for the poor service and terrible business practices. I will never rent from dollar ever again.

When I pay money to reserve a vehicle and I get to dollar to check in and was told there is no more 7 passenger vehicle available and there's three people ahead of me also waiting on a 7 passenger vehicle. I think it's poor on Dollar and the third parties Dollar works with. I was not refunded my money for the service I could not use.

The car stunk like cigarettes. I got a migraine immediately. After buying a car refresher it was better. Maybe clean it up a little for the next customer.

I have not heard back from phone call. I am attempting to get my money back since we did not use the car due to the Coronavirus .
