They were closed at the agreed upon time to pick up
Cons: I took an Uber to pick up my rental car and was supposed to pick up at 5:00PM and the office was closed even though their office was supposed to close at 6:00PM. This left me stranded until I could get another Uber to pick me up. I will never rent from Hertz again as this was highly unprofessional and if they needed to close at least have the common courtesy to call the people that have a pending pick up. I called the customer service number to demand a refund and they said that it would take 5 days to process, but that has been a week ago. I have a hard time paying for a car that I was not afforded the opportunity to actually pick up. I guess I need to call them again today to question the status of my refund. Never again Hertz.

Rent 2 days but charged for 3 days
Cons: The service ruined my mood when I found they charged 3 days. I used the car for 2 days plus 3 hours. Got the car at 3 PM on 19th, and returned it at 6 PM on 21st. The female attendant said since I returned the car after 3 PM, the 3 hours counted as ONE DAY!!! She said this is the company policy, no matter I feel fair or not. I have NEVER seen such shameless policy.

Should not have taken the first van
Cons: The van that we got from Hertz at the CAE airport... shook when you were driving between 40-60 mph. It is like it stuttered from getting air in something that was not supposed to have air, or as if it was not getting fuel correctly. Very disappointed. Had to drive to St. Louis from Illinois to exchange the van for a different one. Person who we talked to from Roadside Assistance said we were all set; then when I got to the airport to exchange the van to one that did not stutter, I got the run around because the mechanic wanted to check the other van - I was there to see a family member with cancer - spending hours exchanging a van should not have to occur. Then the second van worked great, but the inside was very dirty with stains all over the carpet and seats, sticky pop on the dashboard, and there were terrible remnants of duct tape that were on the outside of the sides and the back. Who thinks it is okay to rent a vehicle like this? Uck!
