Pros:Nothing, this was a terrible experience.Cons:When I arrived at hertz, they made me wait over an hour as they didn't have any cars available and someone had to drive it from jacksonville. Then, there was inflexibility when I wanted to change my drop off location. They wouldn't let me even during difficult times like COVID. Then, I received erroneous additional charges on my credit card. Horrible experience. And customer service was incredibly rude.Reviewed Sep 28 2020

Never againPros:Nothing. My overall experience was horrible.Cons:The man gave me the wrong car because he had no other cars in stock yet I reserved the car a month or more ahead of time. Which should have been plenty of time to get the car I ordered. I had paid for a full-size but was given the smallest compact car. He had no sympathy and gave no compensation for the wrong car. Plus there were fees I had no idea about other than the underage fee. I will never be renting from hertz again. They lack in customer service and I do not like that I was given I different car than I had paid for!!!!Reviewed May 7 2017

Pros:Vehicle was clean and available on timeCons:I was not made aware by Kayak or by Hertz that there was an additional "concession fee recovery" charge equaling $62.35 tacked on to the rental amount. When I asked the agent he said this was because I picked the car up from the airport. If I had picked the car up at another location the fee would not have been applied. I could have just as easily rented this car from another location near by. I believe that both Kayak and Hertz are responsible. The agent also said that if I had booked directly with Hertz instead of going through a third party they would have made me aware. I feel like I have been ripped off. Last time I will use Kayak or Hertz to rent a car.Reviewed Mar 22 2018

Pros:staff at pick up was okay; polite; did not appear knowledgeable about the car nor have time to provide more than perfunctory direction to the best route to the hwy. staff at drop off was rudeCons:the car was quite comfortable. the dash board lights were very bright resulting in dangerous discomfort and distraction at night. the radio was of very low quality and also shined brightly. Odd hoursCons:Hours published as if open all day long. Came back to put spouse on, note on door they would be back in fifteen. We were able to find someone quickly, but no one mentioned that the office could be closed when I was told he’d have to come back in. Also, we’ve never had to pay for a spouse driver before, only extradrivers beyond that. Spouse driver was additional $13.50.Reviewed May 19 2018

Thw Worst.Pros:Nothing.Cons:Well...we actually couldnt get a car. We booked the car nearly a week in advance, about a qeek after hurricane matthew came through. I understand that weather can have an effect on businesses, so that ia t the issue.... Apparently the guy working in the offoce called an left a message 2 hours before we went to pick the car up. I hadnt heard the message at that point. We got to the office and entered, but no one was there and there was no sign on the door. Totally unlocked and we waited a few minutes, and then i called the office. The guy had had the phone redirected to his cell, he said he would be back in ten. When he arrived he said, "how did you get in here?" and said "oh, thats not good" upon finding that the door hadnt been locked. After we had already been waiting there for 10-15 minutes, he says "didnt you get my voicemail? We dont have a car"... He was extremely unhelpful, and when we asked about public transport he said he "doesnt know about it" because he "has a car". We were intending on using a car to get to orlando, so it wasnt just a sight-seeing or convenience thing. We ended up taking an Uber that was harrowing and cost $100. When I later listened to the message (I was too mad at the time), the employee had said something to the effect of "we dont have a car for you right now, call back if you want us to keep looking for one, if you still need it". What?!?! This is the problem I have- surely Hertz would have known there wasnt going to be a car for us more than 2 hours in advance??? Surely the company policy for advising clients that their entire stock of THE ONLY thing they have to offer and only reason for business is gone is not ONE unprofessional and vague voicemail? I have never been met with a less helpful employee, and would have thought that he might have tried to help us find a substitute form of transport... Dealing with Hertz will hurt your brain, basically.Reviewed Oct 20 2016

Great StaffPros:Even though it was past registered hours, the Hertz employee came in to get us our vehicle, and also upon our return, the employee stayed late to check us back in. Both men were very pleasant and accommodating. Vehicle was clean and drove great.Reviewed Apr 17 2017
