Their customer service staff are very rude when I called. All I wanted to do was extend the rental but unfortunately they didn't understand enough English to understand what I was asking them. And became extremely rude when I asked if there's someone else I can speak to. I will not be renting with Hertz again and will be taking to social media to voice my concerns.Reviewed Mar 16 2025

pick up wait time greater than 1 hour. I was asked to accept a pickup truck, I refused, and eventually I was assigned a car (tesla) that I really didn't want. The car was uncomfortable and took a lot of learning before I could drive it comfortably.Reviewed Oct 14 2024

Was unable to extend rental - Toronto Pearson Hertz office locked the account and the contact center could not extend the rental when I had caught Covid and could not return on the original date. The number Hertz contact center gave me to call was continually busy - I called 98 times over 2 days with no luck. Contact center supervisor could put a message on the account but I was still charged a late fee which the returning agent did reverse. Also received the car with 1/8 of a tank of gas - had to find a gas station before I could travel and then of course could not return the car with the same amount of gas - too close to empty.
