Pros:The customer rep who helped us fill out the paperwork and checked the car for scratches, etc. was very polite and professional. The car was great and got the job done, as was the return process.
Cons:We wish that directions to the Hertz return parking lot at Madrid airport were given more clearly!

Cons:Final invoice was incorrect. My contract was for 331.75 Euros, not $392.23 USD. After dropping the car, they sent an electronic invoice showing that they applied a conversion rate that hiked the cost of the rental by roughly 5%. They were not authorized to convert to USD. I was not given any invoice in dollars until the electronic invoice appeared after leaving Hertz. I did not agree to any conversion rate.

Cons:The gps didnt have a return address by default and getting there was a hassle. When I finally got there offive was closed. Had to drop off keys in mailbox.

Pros:Yes, but the process is unnecessarily deceptive. The pricing seems favorable but than they hit you with exhorbidant insurance costs that exceed the actual rental cost. These costs are hidden until your at the counter. Lots of other add-on costs. VERY unpleasant process. I expected more from HERTZ.

Cons:Kayak had an issue in their website since when I wanted to change the reservation dates, Kayak pointed me to Hertz's website, but when I wrote the confirmation number I got from Kayak, Hertz could not recognize it. This was an issue since I had to call Kayak but they do not even have a number to call or at least I could not find it. Then I called Hertz and they could not help me by phone and I was forced to go to Hertz's office personally in Madrid's city center. To make matters worse, the represesentative in Hertz's office could not really help me either since she also could not change a reservation done through Kayak. She has to change it manually and leave the new details expressed in a paper so that the Hertz representative could see it the day I was supposed to pick up the car. Then also I had received a new price the day I went to change the reservation, and such price was different to the price I received when I picked up the car. So there was a discrepancy in customer servie within Hertz. All in all, Hertz's organization here was poor, and Kayak's booking section was poor as well since it did not let me change the reservation. Bad experience here.
