Pros:The car was nice and clean. Newer model.
Cons:The car had many little dents.
Cons:We arrived late for our rental pick up on Maui, due to a 7hr flight delay, and I had booked this reservation 6 months ago, and because we didn’t get there in time, they gave our car away to some else! Wouldn’t even give us until the next morning to pick it up. We had to pay a higher price for a different rental until we could get back to the original rental location with the more expensive car which they accepted for use finally for our original contract agreement. Felt it was a bit greedy and not very customer friendly to make us struggle to have transportation for the week we were there!

Cons:Was not clear that I booked from the Maui beach hotel hertz instead of the airport. Hours online differ from actual hours, wasted ~$150 on uber rides to and from our room to the hotel because of this.
Pros:The staff was very friendly and upgraded us to the only vehicle available for the same price. We saved a bundle of $$ going off site from OGG to p/u the rental at the Maui Beach Hotel. FYI, neither their bus system or Uber services from OGG are reliable. We ended up taking a taxi.
Cons:Travelers going to Hawaii are getting severely "stiffed"; having to pay $2k-3k for a one week rental. This is absurd. Many travelers resorted to renting u-haul vans.
Pros:Short line for a non-preferred customer. Similar car to what was promised was available after a short wait.
Cons:Had a slow leak in one tire. I filled it with air one time. I had to drive with the low pressure indicator lit.

Cons:They want to charge my an extra $15 a day for my husband to drive the car... we booked a full size SUV which stated pathfinder or similar (picture of Tahoe was on it) we got a Ford Explorer, which doesn’t fit 4 medium size suitcases like the description stated that it did.. staff argued with me when picking the car about the size... car was dirty inside, seats were stained for the amount of money should have received better service. We will never rent with hertz again!
Pros:The rental price was pretty good compared to other rental companies. Car was mostly clean. It was comfortable and got the job done around the island.
Cons:The pick up was ridiculous. It literally took us almost 2 hours to get the car. After a long flight, this is the last thing you want. There were not enough workers during pick up. The ones who were there were extremely slow. My attendant was very nice, but very slow! She kept wanting to chat and ask me personal questions when I just wanted to get my car! She also typed VERY slow and had trouble using the software. After about an hour in line, 20 min getting checked-in, we still had to wait another half hour to get the car! The theme here is slow! I'm familiar with Hawaiian time, but this takes it to new levels. I will not rent from here again.
Cons:I had expected my rental pick-up to be at the airport (OGG), and it was not clear from any of my confirmation messages that this was not the case. Upon arriving at the airport Hertz desk I was referred to take a taxi to the offsite location for my rental pick-up. However when we arrived at the offsite location we were informed that they did not have the car that I had reserved and for which I had prepaid. I was instructed to go back to the airport to get the car I had reserved. Once I got back to the airport I was quickly provided the correct vehicle, but it shouldn't have taken that many steps and was a frustrating start to our vacation.
Pros:Not much.
Cons:It took us almost 2 full hours from when we got to Hertz, got through the insane line with inattentive employees, go outside and wait quite a bit longer for them to clean a car and bring it around to us. Insanely long process. Throughout our stay the key for the push start worked maybe 50% of the time. Kept saying "Invalid Key ID" when trying to start the car. We got stuck for 20 minutes because we drove to a lunch spot, then when trying to get back in the car it wouldn't start. This happened the whole trip. Tried calling their support once but after 30 minutes on hold figured it wasn't worth my time.
