After landing, I went to the Alamo line and waited for an hour and a half in line until it was my turn. It was not reasonable. They had one worker behind the counter and he would go behind the door for about 10 minutes and then return. This happened continuously. I will never book with Alamo again in Portland

A rolling empty beer can in the back, film of tobacco smoke making the rear window impossible to see through, same for the front windshield. Apparently the manager wanted to issue some refund on my credit card upon the return, but that never happened. Plenty of apologies though...
I reserved an SUV in March for this August rental. Due to a change by the airline, I needed to change my rental by one day, from Monday to Monday to Tuesday to Tuesday. I spoke to a Budget agent because modifying the reservation by one day changed the rate by $400! This was now more than I could afford. Budget's agent told me to cancel the existing reservation and make a new one. I did that, but because of the price increase, I had to change my car from a Rav 4 to a Toyota Corolla. I was not happy with the change and will probably not rent another car from Budget in the future.

Very nice agent, Carrie. There was an issue with the gasoline option which we didn’t know until drop-off in Holyoke and the agent there fixed it immediately.

When I needed a bit of extra care, the team was 100% devoted to helping me. Went out of they're way to do so.
Easy, quick process and received a nicer car than we had reserved. Also, Paul at the desk was super friendly, funny and helpful. Highly recommend National in Portland, ME.
Great car and service. Just expensive, that's all.

All was good the salesperson tried to sell us a gas fill at $2.99 per gallon, guaranteed, for $41 plus the gas and the EZPass transponder did not work . Price was very good, however.

I reserved and paid for an EV ready to 530pm. My flight was delayed so I didn’t make it to the pick up counter until 600pm. My EV was not ready, it was charging, I was told it would be another 10-15 minutes. Again waiting at the counter and continuing to check in, by 7pm I had to leave as I was late for my scheduled plans. So I asked again when the counter attendant talked to his manager and I heard them say they only had a Tesla and someone else reserved a Tesla and no other ev’s were available. I heard that and said I’ll take any car at this point, so they gave me a gas powered Buick and off I went. They couldn’t make any other adjustments or changes since I prepaid for the vehicle. Frustrating pick up operation.

The electric car was nice but could only charge it 30 min at a time. The heater didn’t work when it was below a certain temperature outside. Not a good idea to rent electric cars in cold climates. We returned the car and exchanged it. The second car wasn’t as nice. But it worked. We were happy in the end to have a normal car but missed the heated seats and steering wheel.

Somehow after getting my plane tickets and hotel, my car rental was for a week after my trip. I had to pay $100 to cancel a week before the scheduled rental. That's extortion!
