I stayed at executive twin-bedded room. Bed is so good. and The room where I had stayed was very wide. Staff and Equipment are so nice. The traffic of this hotel is inconvenient. And this hotel surrounding was under construction.(1st floor is Now construction!) so in the morning, I have heard of the small sound of construction. and I can't catch the taxi in the morning. many people waiting...

Brand new hotel with very nice rooms and great views. Excellent service and friendly staff. Very good breakfast.
Extremely stylish hotel in excellent location ...very comfortable with modern luxury facilities Very minor issues ... lack of explanation of hotel servises in room ... needs hanging hooks in bathroom, maore suitcase space
To be pleasant to me all!
An oasis with great views on the Bund. All the details in your room and bathroom to feel like at home. Quality of materials and great bed. a real bath looking at the river had no price after meetings Staff is overall really unefficient. Poor English Level specially on the phone. We even asked the concierge to book a defined restaurant, asked him if he did which he said yes and we arrived no booking! Breakfast management and overall food proposal and quality should be improved. As written at the entrance, soft opening still
Absolutely beautiful hotel, the view can't get any better. Breakfast spread is great. Fantastic location. Staff was very polite and courteous, however, not very knowlegeable. Seem to have a problem with the communications. While the buffet breakfast is great, we had lunch at the hotel (a group of 6) and after an hour (no exaggeration), the dishes came in one at a time, with a 5-10 minute intervals. By the time the last dish arrived, the first lunch was already cold. Service was very poor. Dinner experience: Again, the wait staff need better training.
The Hotel is well designed, well situated, right size - all to please but lacking in certain services one would expect at this type of Hotel Wireless Internet unreliable, Air Conditioning not efficient at night, assistance at the Concierge desk very limited, not only language but knowledge lacking.
Hotel is clean Hotel is clean but the main problem is that few people speak english. I tis the first time I see so few people speaking english in this hotel category. Breakfast choice is poor and staff dont speak english (20 mn to get coffee with milk). Concierge was not able to inform us about the hot spots in Shanghai. Rates for transportation are expensive (800RMB) for domestic airport transportation. If you go downstairs after midnight, you have good chance to see girls proposed in room massages and other sex facilities, which is surprising
Room was very comfortable and the breakfast good. The free parking was a benefit and convenient.
The hotel is very nice and the buffet meals are very good and the price is alright.I definetely recomend it.
location good in Hongqiao. I took 2 rooms plus a living room, big space for us with 2 children. Everything is fine. Very easy to have a taxi, good services. Good area to walk. And, the prices for sure is super good for what you get in Shanghai. I will stay again in this hotel. No
Spectacular architecture on the inside. The rooms are good. Ten minute walk to one of the main centres of town. Many restaurants in the area. The management of this hotel is not the group's best. To get a coffee in the morning breakfast takes on average 25 minutes. One day they had even forgot to order any bacon; ok in a 2 star hotel! On one day the food available for Chinese guests at breakfast was negligible, other days good. At 6 30 am there was no taxi.
easy location to Hong Qiao airport not really
We had to carry the luggages and bags on our own on checking in and out while the bell boys looked on, like what the hell you bring luggages here. Being a service apartment with kitchenette we were surprised that no utensils were available, had to get room service for plates and cutleries.
This is the best Peninsula Hotel in the World.
We stayed at this hotel only for 3 days, at the door you are welcomed by many belman and doors are opened by females in white uniforms, very classy. The person who checks you in brings you to the room, we had to call for our bags as they may had forgotten to bring them up. You have free internet phone to call international, the beds are like haven, so make sure you have a wakeup call in the morning. The views are really nice overlooking the river. Upstairs on the 14th floor you can enjoy a drink overlooking the skyline of Shanghai, just beautiful. Breakfast is very expensive (118 -270 rmb), but that comes with a 5 star hotel, service is very good expect one morning when I had a breakfast meeting, we had the feeling that our plates were taken away, so we could leave. But if you can get a good roomrate at this hotel as we did and an upgrade, this is the hotel to be. Metro is 15 minutes walk that is the only downside of the this location, but what do you expect there is always a rollsroys parked outside. The hotel has a number of luxury shops and a hairdressor my wife used, price was oke. The hotel is very clean and very thing looks news. The curtains open automatically and best of all you have a nepresso cofffee machine. We had a separate closet for our clothes and the bathroom had a TV in front of the bathtube.
The bed linens. The layout and views from the room. the pool and spa rooms. the breakfast. The pool was very long but narrow so that no more than 3 or 4 people could swim at one time.
The room design was amazing. .
nice clean hotel staff was not very friendly or helpful and nothing special about this hotel
Helpful and friendly staff.
tennis courts over priced
Every person that worked there learned my name over 6 days and the staff was very friendly. The room was very quit. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Clean, quit, and great staff.
0 1- I REACH HOTEL AT 9.00 PM AND THEY ASK TO WAIT FOR ONE HOUR TO MAKE ROOM REDAY. 2- DURING MY WAITING I GOT COFFE AND GREEN TEA AT THE RESTAURANT COST ME 180RM. 3- ROOM NOT CLEAN AT ALL. 4- NO MENY BAR AND WHEN I AM DOING CHECKOUT ASK ME WHAT DID YOU USE FROM THE MENY BAR. 5- RE USING THE PERSONAL STUFF AGAING ( SAMPOO AND SHOWER GEL ) IT WAS HAFE. AND MORE MORE MORE
This is an excellent option to hotels. Apartment building with modern facilities. The price is well below most 4-5 star hotels in the area (ask for the corporate rate if you qualify). They could use a few more English speaking staff for the American visitor. I would recommend apartaclass, particularly if you plan to stay longer than 3 nights or if you want to entertain at all.
Breakfast buffet was outstanding I needed a big vehicle to take my family and luggage to the train station, hotel was not able to assist.
It was great value for money. We had a nice room on the 16th floor with a king sized bed - just as I requested. The buffet breakfast was great, we had a lovely bath in our room and the mud body wrap at the spa was amazing .... It's about a $60 taxi ride from the bund which wasn't too bad or a train ride for about $4 to the expo site. The staff were very eager to please. Nothing to grumble about. But if anything the location, but that depends on what you want to do while in Shanghai.
Not a typical hotel room with just a bed. Very comfortable and loved the additional amenities. Will definitely bring my wife here in the future.
The hotel was an excellent value for the price paid. The location was perfect. It was walking distance from the bund, yu gardens, xintiandi and many other attractions. The staff was extremely helpful as well. If you're traveling on a budget (and even if not) I recommend it highly.
The location is great and they have English-speaking staff. The Hotel itself is very comfortable and the mini-bar is refilled everyday and Free (coke & sprite, water and cookies). The Restaurant of the Hotel, in the 4th floor has a wonderful view and good food. I went for breakfast and lunch, the prices are ok and the food is safe and tasty. The subway station is 2 blocks away, quite convenient. The location is good but there is a strange neighborhood crossing the street (not unsafe but not nice to walk either).
The skyline visible from the room was breathtaking. The rooms were comfortable. The staff was kind. A good option.
rooms had space, it was clean, 10 minutes walk to shopping centre, staff was very helpful
The Bund Riverside has come through again, what a pleasure to spend my time there, staff was extremely helpful, the executive floor rooms have fantastic views are large and luxurious, I had 3 large closets in the long hallway leading to the marble bathroom, floor to ceiling marble, separate shower, toilet and bath, room 1716, I recommend it highly and the Bund Riverside, excellent location, short walk to the Bund and Peoples Square, near everything
Close to the Bund shoppng strip Dirty rooms, non smoking rooms stink of smoke and when asked to change manager was rude, breakfast not included in price, poor reception. Would not stay again ever.
Dated , not well maintained , poor location
The location is centric, but it isn't a good neighbourhood, you'll see some pretty scary stuff on your way home past 10pm There was a 15% 'surcharge' over the price according to the website, the staff's knowledge of English is limited, and they're unhappy to speak it
I liked the location of the hotel, the comfortable room, quiet and service. The view from the window on the 15th floor was wonderfull. nothing
Friendly staff. Proximity to Nanjing rd. Taxi's always available. No
Good room price! Location excellent for exploring Shanghai. Within walking distance of the Bund, Nanjing Road and Henan Metro station. The English of the staff is poor. They do try to be helpful. Concierge Philip has by far the best command of the language.
Breakfast was good The price was not the one you told us even after showing them the reservation. Finally to please me they charged every dolar at a 8.3 yuan when it was 7.5. Plus 15% of I don'tknow what. Last year with you I booked sofitel in Shanghai and had no problems at all
All was great!!! No.
The location was central to my needs and I enjoyed the food as well. The three things I was looking for were: central location at a good price for value, free interned and breakfast included. I had a bit of trouble getting directions at the counter twice as I do not speak Chinese and the map got marked incorrectly when I asked so I walked 90 degrees in the wrong direction from what staff traced on the map. I eventually found my destination.
The twin bed rooms had a living room and small dining area with microwave and fridge. The buffet breakfast was really nice. Rooms need more pillows on beds and the beds could have been more comfortable.
Location Stone hard bed
location is the hotel's best feature The breakfast was only passable. I booked a double bedroom and end up getting 2 single beds.
location breakfast was very poor for non chineas .Air condtion was not working but they do thier best and change the room soon - coserge are very help full but they have language difficulties
Very good location, near nanjin lu. Good breakfast. People are smoking in the lift. But it is everywhere in Shanghai.
I am on day 5 of my 9 day stay at Sky Fortune Hotel in Shanghai. I am staying in a standard room with two double beds. It is currently the 30th of May 2009. Staff is very friendly. Staff speaks English well enough to get what you need done. Room is lovely. Beds are very comfortable. Everything is very tidy and thought out. Breakfast buffet is worth what they charge. Really quite a spread. You will be impressed. I am staying in the back of the hotel, view is of other buildings which is quite common in China. Room is deadly quiet. The occasional door slamming due to some idiot guest with no manners...but no horn honking from the street. I am on the 7th floor and wish every hotel I stay at in China is this nice. T.V. could use more English channels...and as is typical in China....the reception is not always crystal clear and sharp. I have had some spotty internet issues which have been frustrating. Took about 30 minutes for someone to come to my room to tell me the internet was down. Duh. Remote control device is wireless for the room. Opens and closes the drapes. When drapes are closed the room is pitch black. Great for sleeping since it is so quiet here. AC works great. Motion sensors activate lights when you get up to use the restroom. Morning papers available in the restaurant in English. Housekeeping leaves you alone if you put note on door. When they do come, they are quick and efficient. Concierge is helpful and knows the area well. I paid about $75 a night which included breakfast for 2. Great deal. Overall I give this hotel two big thumbs up.
The hotel itself is beautiful. It is decorated with antiques and understated elegance. The photos they provide on the internet is accurate. The location is a little out of the way from the main attraction area like the Bund but there are stores and other things in the area and the taxi ride is not bad and not so expensive (*-* RMB or less than $* US) to the Bund. The room was huge. I stayed at the Westin also and where the Westin wa sleek and modern, the Sky Fortune was more elegant and local (Asian themed). They had turn down service also. The minuses were that the carpet was a little outdated and old (they don't seem to vacuum a lot over there), their staff was very nice but did not understand English very well, and when I was at the pool, the 'lifeguard' stood over you like you can't use the pool except to swim. Their whirlpool/hot tub was a joke! They charged you * RMB (or $* US) and the jets only stayed on for 45 seconds and you had to keep hitting the button to restart it. They also had a booklet in the room that listed the services but not the prices for them and a couple of times, I was given different prices for the services. The guest relations did try to accommodate me and told me to ask for the manager on duty if I had a problem, but most of the staff did not understand 'manager' to call for me so when I couldn't make myself understood, I had to actually go to the front desk before I got someone to accompany me back to the spa or restaurant. The spa is in the hotel annex and out of the way.
The hotel staff was accommodating but the room was a little noisy, I happened to be at the end of the hallway which was a good thing because I was able to hear everything in the hallway. Outside the hotel was also noisy even though I was facing a side street. The restaurant staff was very cordial and most accommodating but on one evening I had military people in the non smoking area, smoking at their leisure with no comments from the staff and seemed to be widely accepted. Otherwise the food was good and the cost was reasonable. The real complaint that I have is regarding the internet service, it was rather costly and getting someone to explain how to log on was a nightmare. I finally asked for someone to come to my room and show me. This proved to be a smart move and didn’t require me to go into the lobby to read emails. For us Westerner’s, there were ample staff on site to speak English and they communicated rather well. At times there were difficulties understanding the wait staff and front desk help, but I was always able to communicate with people. I would suggest staying closer to the heart of town but subway transit and cabs are readily available. Not sure I agree with the hotel rating or four stars but it is a solid three star.
