Pros: The car

it was tight.
Pros: Nothing went wrong, I like it when things don't go wrong. Thrifty employees in PDX were nice. Nothing went wrong, it was tight.

No spare tire or jack
Cons: I had a flat tire the first day, there was no tire or jack in the truck. Thifty was unwilling to assist due to me not getting their insurance. There should have been a compromise due to the situation they put me in, but I only got "sorry ma'am" I was left to fin for myself in a place I had never been. I will never rent from this company again.

Fine, not great.
Pros: Car was clean No line at counter Daily rate was reasonable
Cons: Initial car given (Nissan Versa) was outdated/old, had to request a different model When turned in, incorrectly charged me $300+ more than supposed to; missed my initial shuttle while fixing the problem at the counter Shuttle back to airport made everyone wait at the curb while driver took only one "club" member across the parking lot directly to their car (parking lot is NOT large, and easily walkable)... Two shuttles in a row did this... Wildly inefficient program

Pros: Price and car were as promised
Cons: When I checked in, the agent was a little weird about showing my receipt for gas and couldn't explain why I needed to. Just a strange experience.

Pros: The roominess and comfort of the car.
Cons: I can't figure out the billing. You charged me $349.38 on May 29, but that charge has since disappeared from my credit card. The receipt I was given when I turned the car in on June 3 shows $291.15, but that charge has not yet appeared on my credit card. I should have thought that it would all be settled on June 3.

Pleased for the most part
Pros: The car was spotless when I picked it up. It was a very new model, comfortable and with all the latest ammenities- usb port, etc
Cons: It was not clear where I was to go when I arrived at the airport as the business is not on sight and there was no shuttle there waiting.

Stranded in Portland...
Pros: The quoted price was great.
Cons: I did not like being left to wait airport at 2:30a.m. with my teenage daughter. 4 calls were necessary to actually connect with someone in the local office at the airport (including an air port representative seeking to assist). Once connected with the representative I was to meet, we were treated as if it was our fortune to use their services. Well, I was not spending a cent with such poor service and/or concern. Avis was open and ready to save the early morning. Half way through the information session, the Thrifty shuttle arrived. It was now 3:15a.m. At 3:22a.m., we drove away in an Avis rental. A very long night! We put our heads to rest at 4a.m. I paid more without any qualms for efficient and professional service from Avis.

Cons: Wouldn't help me to my vehicle, I had two carry- ons a duffle bag a four month old and a carseat in a carseat bag. So I could either leave my son or leave my stuff to go get the car.

Pros: The drop off people was extremely efficient. The shuttle bus driver was great and we didn't have to wait and he was very helpful with all my luggage and baby gear.
Cons: Dropoff is not with the rest of the rental cars. Didn't discover that until I was already driving the the rental car lot. If I didn't arrive extra early, the extra 20-30 min could have really messed things up.

Cons: No shuttles to pick us up from the PDX airport at midnight. Literally after an hour, no show. When we got there, the guy was just chilling at the station. There was so many added costs on top of the payment we had already made.

Pros: The heat lamps, over the seats at the shuttlebus stand, at the airport were a nice touch. Also, the navigation system came in handy, frequently.
Cons: I first discovered that I had rented a compact, only when I got to the counter. The website hadn't indicated that. The trunk wasn't even large enough to hold the 2 suitcases. I had to put them on the back seat. It did, however, make it easier to park on the street, once I got to Seattle.

Cons: Thrifty refused to rent a car to me because I did not have a secondary credit card. This policy is new and has been i place since January 2017.

Cons: Car smelled like fish. When we asked for a smaller car, the rep said that the one they gave us was the only one available.

Cons: that they told me the windshield had a crack on it as well as 4 more cars that pulls up on the lot, in addition to 20 more in their parking lot! Also the car had stains and spots on it inside and a walkthrough was never offered up front.

"Specialty" does not mean what you might think.
Cons: I specifically reserved a "specialty" vehicle because the vehicle depicted in the image was one with 4WD. When I arrived at Thrifty they informed me that "specialty" actually means "wild card" which is essentially whatever they have extra of, in this case was a tiny compact car. Had I known I was getting a compact car I would have taken the lower rate and reserved one in advance. This exchange felt extremely deceptive. Additionally, this change in vehicle was not only inconvenient but also dangerous and I was traveling to mountainous areas expecting heavy rain and snow.

Pros: The outcome. Good car, good price.
Cons: Being upsold and having to argue for what we had already reserved on line.

Charged for early return
Cons: Charged for early return and days I didnt use. They said oh we cant adjust because the rate you got was super low. So, they charged me for two days I didnt use.

Cons: The car I was given smelled like a rolling ashtray. I called every day I had it trying to get in touch with someone. After sending in an email complaint and receiving no response, I eventually called the national customer service line, to which they told me I had to contact the specific rental location and speak with the manager. After putting in two calls to the manager and not receiving a call back, I finally got ahold of her on my third call to the location. Not only was I told I should have called earlier (even though I had), I was also told she could not issue a refund for the vehicle and offered me $100 discount and a voucher. I never received the voucher when I dropped off my vehicle as the person working had no idea what I was talking about. Needless to say, I will never rent with Thrifty again.

The car engine wouldn't start
Pros: The only good thing about this experience was one of Thrifty's managers, Yasmina. She was very helpful (at all hours of the night) in getting us a car that actually worked.
Cons: The car malfunctioned and coordinating with Thrifty to get it replaced was a pain in the butt. I had to miss part of a wedding because of a miscommunication on Thrifty's end.
