They accommodated us at the airport - somehow we were booked at another location - which was super!. However, although the car was clean enough, but hadn't been cleaned before we got it. It was also a much larger SUV, so was a bit difficult for my husband to drive in the city. But the fact that we didn't have to go elsewhere made all the difference and the guy at the desk was super nice!Reviewed Aug 17 2025

I waited for 1.5 hours at the rental office. I was seen fairly quickly but the paperwork process took forever. When I finally got my vehicle, there was a low tire pressure warning. I mentioned this to the attendant at the rental office but she said they couldn't fix it. So I went to a nearby gas station to get more air. But as I was driving off the warning light came back on and I could hear a hissing coming out of the tire. There was clearly a tear in the tire. They offered me another vehicle but that then took more time to process that paperwork. The car was clean but overall a bad experience.Reviewed Oct 16 2024

I had to wait in a line that took longer than an hour to get to the front desk. Then they didn’t have the car I reserved and they gave me a Tesla. I feel like it should have come with a quick tutorial video, you know in case the windshield fogs up while driving over the bridge and THERE’S NO FREAKING CONTROLS! Everything is on a screen. Huge line for pickup, even though I had done pre-check in online. No signage or a clear line-all who entered were confused about who was next-only the waiting customers explained the order they were waiting. The 2 busy employees didn’t tell anyone what was going on. They would stop helping check-ins any time someone came to drop keys and focus the attention onto them. Not enough cars for all who were there waiting. We were given a car that had not been cleaned or washed. The person helped before us came back to say the car he was given smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, only to be told he would have to wait possibly an hour for another option. Liked the type of car. Did NOT like the hours it took to get a satisfactory vehicle and get on our way. Seriously. Fifty or so customers standing on line for three, sometimes two Avis representatives. Avis staff upstairs where we picked up the car told us that’s the norm. After loading our luggage into the dirty, smoky vehicle, adjusting mirrors, setting up phone for GPS, etc., we noticed passenger window had. Large crack from top to bottom. Exchanged vehicle for yet another dirty, smoky vehicle, loaded, adjusted and found that dashboard display screen didn’t work. Exchanged vehicle yet again only to find the same issue with the third vehicle. Decided to suck it up and go anyway, after OVER nearly 2 HOURS.Reviewed Jun 26 2024
