We upgraded at check-in for an extra $50 which doubled the space. The location is excellent as it's walking distance to several sites. The fitness center is excellent and is included in the price of the room. Lack of parking requires you to valet for $56 a day. If you are somebody that needs a great view you won't find it here.
Excellent Capitol Hill location. Comfortable base for young children on their first tour of the Capital.
Walking to distance to good lunch and dinner choices Hotel lobby shop was typical "airport prices" for anything you'd want, making You feel like a fool if you didn't to walk across the street and buy a snack or coffee at 1/3 price.
Clean sheets, very comfortable bedding, clean showers and floors. Great location with respect to the national mall. Gym is great. Would definitely recommend. Nothing.
Very nice amenities and the shower was great! I booked my stay two month prior for a King Bed for one night. When I got there, they said they were sold out of King Bed's and all they had were two doubles. Not the biggest deal, but what is the point of booking a King in advance if that is not what is available? Also, our room did have a musty smell to it when we first got it. After running the air for a bit, it went away.
Location Hidden charges. $58 a night to park. Nowhere did I see that when I booked the trip. $8 for a draft beer that should be $3, I get a call from security in the evening waking me up, stating that the policy is to call if the do not disturb sign is out. The do not disturb sign was out, I didn't want to be disturbed. Couldn't go back to sleep. I'm a small business owner, if I treated my customers that way, I would be out of business. I will never give that hotel a dime again.

Quiet even though we were on lower floor and overlooked front of building. Great location. Restaurant (breakfast) food just ok.
The room was nice until we looked out the window and found we had a great view of the roof... (sarcasm) Valet constantly begging for tips. Being from Vegas I tip almost excessively however if someone begs for it or nearly has his hand out the entire time it is not coming. It's called a gratuity for a reason. Then when delivering the vehicle no opening the trunk, and doesn't return the seat to where they found it or at least close. Not much effort in valet.

That staff was very helpful and friendly. Also, the location was great. Very close to the Capitol building. We upgraded to a buffet breakfast, which was lacking and the hot food was cold. Not a good value at $25/ person, but at a hotel, I understand the price, but if the food is cold, then it was a waste of money.
the room was perfect had to pay for parking internet and food I i didn't like the customer service the elevator was not working my room was floor 8 even though i tried to connect the internet and pay it did not work when i talked to to the reception did not help they asked me to bring my laptop and phone down stairs
Either the hotel or this booking service gave misleading info. Internet was listed along with TV, sofa, etc., as included. But then the hotel said internet was $14.95/day. They eventually agreed to not charge me for it.

They didn't let us into our hotel room until very late in the day we arrived due to slow housekeeping service. Upon checkout, we realized we had forgotten a few items in the closet. I called the front desk to tell them of the issue and they said they would take care of it, but when I showed up a few hours later to grab my bags from the coat room and go to the airport, they had no record of me having called and couldn't locate our items left in the closet. One bellman went out of his way to help out and was able to find some but not all of our clothes.
The room was a little bit too much in regards to modern art deco. There was no two lamp that was the same. Parking cost $48 overnight,
We enjoyed our stay at the Washington court hotel after the liaison did not have a room for us. We arrived at the liaison at 12 am hoping to get into our room quickly and get some rest. We waited in line for at least 30 minutes to check in, as other guests appeared to be having issues with check in. After finally reaching the check in desk, we were told that the room we had reserved was not available. The only available room had no bed, just a pull out couch that could only sleep one person. This situation was the same for another 5-6 parties attempting to check in after us. We were given the option of staying at another hotel down the street and switching back to the liaison for the second night of our stay. We decided to cancel our liaison reservation and stay at the other hotel for both nights. The entire situation was handled in a very unprofessional manor, adding stress and confusion to what we hoped to be a relaxing weekend.
The location was great, good value for the room however parking was an additional $54/night. Try out Art and Soul restaurant, delicious! Parking. But in DC I guess it's standard...

The rooftop pool cannot be beat. It is a beautiful space with cabana and plenty of seating. The room was on the 10th floor making the pool and fitness center easily accessible. Within walking distance to the capital and the mall. Hidden fees, and outrageous parking price, poor attitudes of front desk staff, "free coffee" pretty pathetic, coffee maker in the room not ideal. We couldn't take personal food up to pool despite no signs saying so. I felt like a teenager being reprimanded for sneaking candy into a movie theater. Bar at pool does have food, but be prepared to pay high dollar for pretty average food, without a lot of options. Poor communication regarding hotel activities, woke up for yoga class early only to find it must have been canceled without anyone letting us know. Pool was closed at 5 pm, we weren't even allowed to put our feet in because there wasn't a lifeguard. Website clearly says pool open until 10. It overall was fine, nothing miserable, but some of these details led to a less then impressive stay.
I liked the decor and unique style of the hotel. I checked in at night so when we arrived we were able to appreciate the dim lighting and music. There was a lot of activity going on over at the bar/restaurant. People seemed to be enjoying them selves. The room was nice and clean. I liked the products in the bathroom. The bed was comfy and the lighting was modern and unique. It took 20 minutes of standing in a very short line before I was checked in. There was a jug with fruit infused water for guests to enjoy. But there was also an overflowing trash can of plastic cups right next to it. There was only one person assisting customers. When I gave my name and info, the representative had a hard time. I showed her my reservation on my phone. She looked at it for at least 3 minutes and then told me that I need to call Kayak to get my confirmation#. I was confused and asked shouldn't she call them (since I stood in line for so long). Luckily I found what she missed on my reservation and she was able to check me in. Later that evening, we were given the number to a local restaurant that delivers. We ordered food. The next morning there is a receipt for a long distance call on the floor near the door. When I called the front desk about it, the rep said they would talk to their manager. When I checked out that day, I mentioned it and the representative at the desk dismissively said that her boss took care of it. No apology or friendly demeanor to spare I suppose. The carpet in the lobby needed vacuuming. It looked like the day after a party in the lobby.
The location was good. The decor was nice and what you would expect from a 4star hotel. They tried to charge us for umbrellas that were returned to the front desk. When I returned the umbrellas to the front desk, the lady was very rude for no reason. Two of the elevators were out of service and the other two seemed as if they would break soon. It was scary everytime getting into the elevator because it would shake and make a noise. Twice the door didn't close all the way completely, leaving a small crack, and the elevator would not move. I highly doubt I would stay here again because of the lady I dealt with that was rude and tried to charge me for umbrellas that were returned.
Great location. Very close to the national mall. Room was comfortable. Pool area was much nicer then I was expecting. restaurant and bar were not that great. Only near by food options were a McDonalds and some food trucks.

The hotel and staff were nice and excellent in that order. Two negatives... Biking with other than the hotel does not give the hotel recourse for problems. AC did not stay on all the time when it was set as such on thermostat. Hotel could not give any refunds or comps. Also it was quite obvious that a couple of women in the restaurant/bar were of dubious occupation and I heard one guy tell one of them "I can tell you whatever the "F" I want. Took away from the family atmosphere add this took place in the lobby area.
I enjoyed my quiet room, which was impressive given how close we were to train tracks. I thought that the gym could use a facelift. Parking was not included, I paid $20 for 7 hrs., but the rate is $37/24hr. Thermostat was a little inconsistent.
Location was good Concierge desk did not know hours of museums. Hotel is a block away from Air and Space. Pool and fitness center, not communicated until we got there. Could not use rooftop to survey area and plan trip.

Location, staff, facilities Noise reduction in the room. You can hear activities in hallway and in the other room. Aldo you can hear the train but I knew that and it is not possible solve for the hotel
Really liked how clean the entire hotel was, the rooms were amazing! I asked one of the staff members if all the rooms were like that because I had read some reviews that said the hotel was a little out dated. That was definitely one of my concerns when booking the rooms, thankfully I was put on the floor that was fully remodeled. He proceeded to tell me that the entire hotel was gonna be remodeled. This is great news because I booked 3 rooms for my friends and I. We had nothing bad to say about the rooms! Clean white sheets, with working air in every room and not to mention the bathrooms! AWESOME! Clean and remodeled as well! Which is something that makes me really happy because I'm big on bathrooms being clean when I stay at a hotel! I had a huge cake that needed to be stored and the staff also took care of that with no problem! If you are looking for a long stay or even short stay in Washington DC this is your place! I have nothing bad to say about the place! I will for sure be recommending this hotel and will be coming back for sure! Thank you Holiday Inn! The parking was 37 dollars a night for one car. It wasn't really an issue to me though since I parked right on the sidewalk the hotel was on! It was free after 6:30 p.m. Saturday night. I'm pretty sure Sunday is free I wanna say until 5 p.m. We left around 1:00 p.m. Sunday morning and didn't have any trouble with parking tickets! It says it on the meter just can't remember! Again not a big fall back but something to be aware of 37 per night per car!

Quiet room. Shower worked. First room not clean (pubic hair in tub, stuck to used soap). Changed room. Got a sarcastic apology. Next day, coffee maker in room didn't work. Asked for a new one. Instead, they sent a repair guy ("did you put water in it?" -really!?). Took 45 mins to finally get coffee & hit the gym brfore AM meeting. And what a dump of a gym. One of two treadmills broken, eqipment from 1980. Oh. And $10 for in-room wifi? Why would a business traveler stay at this place? I won't do so again.

Location is good and central. Price was o.k.-ish. Doormen friendly. front desk staff was either not friendly (one person) or not very competent (second person). Bathroom was not cleaned well on arrival and cleaning person wasn't friendly, either. Won't stay here again.
Most convenient location. A short walk from Union Station where our bus dropped us. A short walk to the memorials and the mall. The lobby was huge and welcoming, though some of the couches were a bit worn and needs to be replaced. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and there was a Keurig coffee maker in our room! The bathroom was very spacious and the showers were awesome. A safe would have been helpful to store passports, money and small electronics instead of lugging everything around while touring. Valet and door staff were terrific, as was check-out staff. Rooms were clean, comfortable and well-appointed. The location was perfect for our activities in the city, close to the Metro and the Capitol. Price was very reasonable, Overall it was an excellent value. Registration person never bothered to look up during the transaction, even when we first approached the desk - she just sensed we were there and launched into her questions. Repeated the mistake when we returned with the valet ticket to stamp.
I RESERVED 5 ROOMS BUT WHEN I CALLED TO ASSIGN NAMES TO THE ROOMS, I WAS SUBJECTED TO A PISSING CONTEST BETWEEN THE FRONT DESK AND RESERVATION DEPARTMENT. iT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE RESOLVED, BUT ON ARRIVASL IT WAS NOT. iT CONTINUED DOWN HILL AT THE FRONT DESK. NEVER AGAIN...
Great Hotel. My wife and I stayed here for valentines/anniversary. We were very pleased with the service from start to finish. We got the King Room with the vaulted ceilings and was everything we expected and more. Wow! those robes are nice and after not going ahead and buying one the spot I finally just broke down and ordered it. Staff at the front desk were very courteous and helpful and that extra touch of remembering that I had called earlier to inform them that we would not check in until after dinner was nice. (Hey I know its in the computer but its nice to hear the words). We will definitely return again.
Beautiful room in historical building within short walk to all major museums, White House, and the Mall. Gold fish provided by the hotel (you have to ask for it) kept us company and made us feel at home. Complimentary bottle of champagne for my birthday was unexpected and wonderfully rounded up absolutely unique experience.
This hotel, in an excellent location is a bit "long in the tooth" as the Brits would say.. but aside from the 1/4 mile walk to my room, the staff was great and they had a nice hospitality bar in the main lobby. Getting your bag up a flight of stairs w/o a ramp is something that they should work on .. esp when no valet staff is around to help. About as convenient as the NY Subway.
Great location if spending time along the National Mall. It's only a few blocks down. The hotel is gorgeous and the staff very kind and helpful. The in-hotel restaurant Poste is very good as well (get the Lamb Burger!). Overall, my wife and I had a great time there. Like most hotels ... the pillows. The mattress itself was great, but the pillows were small and squished down to near nothing.

I loved my stay at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco. Our room was on a quit floor, spacious with high ceilings, a seating area, and a fully stocked minibar. The hotel is centrally located so easy to walk to nearby restaurants and museums. The pillows were not fluffy, more flat leaving my neck sore the next morning.
Friendly staff who helped with relocation to a room on a different floor than initially indicated and provided forgotten toiletries in the morning. This hotel is in a neat building and in a great location. The weather, but you can't control that.
The staff, lobby, bar were very good and comfortable. The resturant was average. The room was small since the building was converted to a hotel from the post office. I stay with the Kimpton chain all the time. The room was very small for 2 people and 2 21 inch suitcases. However, it was functional. I rete the hotel 3.5 starts.
location hasn't been renovated in, like, 80 years. shabby doesn't fully capture it. windows are thin and so noisy tasters choice instant coffee in the room

It was very well positioned in downtown DC. It was very old which was kinda cool but take your allergy meds it was very dusty. I think it may have been haunted too... Lol
We basically got two rooms for the price of one. A room with two singles for the kids and the other with a king. The price was half of the other hotels in the area and was close to everything. The rooms were dated and while I wouldn't say the were dirty they were rough around the edges. The beds were old school and not the most comfortable.

For a stay in Washington D.C., I cannot imagine a more perfect hotel than the Courtyard Washington Convention Center. My husband and I were planning a quick sightseeing trip, and chose the hotel for its price and location. We could not have been more pleased. The hotel was immaculate, our beds were comfortable, and the staff was always more than accommodating. We were within walking distance of the National Mall, a number of museums and restaurants, and practically above Ford Theatre. The hotel itself was not without its charms; being an old bank, the basement included old vaults, and the local architecture, both of our building and the others in the area proved unparalleled. If we ever return to Washington D.C., we would love to stay here again. We were very sad to check out and see our visit end.
It was a nice hotel, in a relatively good location. Not a far walk to the Smithsonians, White House, etc. Parking is expensive and they tell you there's no charge for room service to be delivered, but there is.
Room was good for one person on a business trip. I had problems with the parking. It was expensive for the bad service that was given to me. Also I was double charged for my room. I have booked many hotel rooms and that has never happened to me
