Location to sites and local food No real room service for late food needs
The hotel was nice. The rate was great and the room was clean and accommodating. The room charge was the only thing that was reasonable. $57 to park one night. A parfait, egg sandwich and one drink $26. I realize it's D.C. But everything seemed like a shakedown.
Great location. Staff very attentive. The bathroom doors do not go to the ceiling. Saloon style doors. A little awkward for privacy.
The neighborhood had a little of everything for you whithin short walk distance. Was nice to have the calm of the neighborhood but close enough to get into the hustle of the downtown area. The housekeeping staff spent more times in the hall on their phones texting and talking. We left our rooms around 10a and when we returned around 4:30 Our room had not yet been cleaned. Before we left for dinner we called and asked that our room be refreshed and housekeeping said they would be right up. They never came. I did say something to the front desk at check out - her response was "oh, that's not supppsed to happen that way. Now, I did get an email from management apologizing, but stating that he discussed with housekeeping and they blamed us for having the do not disturb on. We had made sure it was Not on (double checked) before we left for dinner. The staff was very friendly - just REALLY distracted with their phones.
The beds were very comfortable, the decor is very stylish and the staff couldn't have been more welcome and helpful. The perfect place to stay in DC near great restaurants, the metro, cool neighborhood. Will stay again!
Nothing Small room and very noisy
Loved everything about the Churchill, everyone was so nice and helpful and the hotel is beautiful. Everything was great
Got no parking and they charge 46 $ for car over night To much
The staff were extremely friendly and professional. That's all it takes for me! Thank you! Outside of that, our room was comfortable, roomie and had several windows...(corner room is always a treat.) We were able to open the windows to enjoy the gorgeous weather and the hotel was in a quiet neighborhood. Extremely comfortable bed with crisp, clean linens. Convenient order form to have breakfast delivered next day or availiable for pick-up is so easy. Just hang on the doorknob sometime before 2AM. Thank you, Kimpton Carlyle Hotel Dupont Circle!
Location in theDuPont Circle neighborhood was nice. Free on street parking over the weekend. We changed booking date but were told that only room available was "city view" for a higher rate. We agreed. Room did NOT have city view. Staff could not have cared less when we mentioned this because we "booked through third party." Ice must be ordered through the desk or room service and ... no coffee in room. Who wants to walk to the lobby to the [messy] complimentary coffee bar first thing in the morning? ("Complimentary" coffee urn was empty on day two.)
Bar service was incredibly slow.
Manager and front desk personnel are incompetent. Very unhelpful and will say anything to defend their own stupidity and faults rather than accommodate their hotel guests.
A satisfying choice-well appointed, good sized rooms. Comfy bed. Good location to Foggy Bottom and Georgetown
The room was tiny and a dump. It was dusty, I was sick all night. The hotel is in need of a major renovation.
Clean, rooms updated Rooms a bit on the small side
Location, staff were great At $200/night I could have had a true 4 star
The Hotel Madera was perfectly located for walking as well as catching the Dupont Circle Metro stop. Lots of nearby shops and restaurants. Rooms were clean and spacious. The entire hotel staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating.
A little disappointed. Sounds fancy, but I've had better for less. Halls smelled musty. Wi-Fi isn't free. Parking is outrageously expensive, very limited coffee and wine hours,I think it's more of an afterthought. It felt like an economy experience.
