The flight from ORD was fine. The seat entertainment allowed the miles to fly by. Good selection of new and older movies as well as TV shows. Lots of different music to choose from. Ability to charge electronics a big plus. WIFI worked fine.
After about 4 hrs into flight seat started to get uncomfortable. KEF is a crazy airport. Absolutely no rhyme nor reason to it. You will have to experience it for yourself.
I was happy to see the blankets and pillow on my seat. They had a good variety of movies and tv shows to keep me entertained.
I was surprised that there were no snacks whatsoever (complimentary) on such a lengthy flight. I would think think that a least a bag of pretzels or something to that effect would have been without charge.
The service in Lester b Pearson airport was unprofessional and sub standard by your employee Manija Anwarzada and her shift workers. They did not help me when I missed my flight to Pittsburgh because of our late arrival from Frankfurt. She and the others were not there to assist and help stranded passengers. In fact a couple of the staff were on cell phones and not helping passengers. She finally told us we had to go downstairs to the hall since her counter was closing. After traveling from Algiers to Frankfurt then on to Canada it was a terrible way to end the day. These emoyess made a very long day even longer.
I will never fly Air Canada again.
I will say once I got through customs there were more professional people who did at least get me a hotel room.
Your employee has left a very bad taste in my mouth for Air Canada!
We paid cash for business class seats on this flight and they were terrible seats. They were NOT business class, they did not recline and there was no leg room. Nothing offered to drink upon boarding. All they did was take economy class seats, three wide, and put a thing on the middle seat to hold drinks. It was terrible and we will avoid Lufthansa in the future, and we travel a lot.
Boarding was easy. clean plane, crew was very friendly. I was very concerned though, when we banked left and did a complete circle in the air. An explanation from the captain would have been terrific. I made sure I was the last one to leave the plane and asked him about it when I saw him at the exit. He told me what happened but I would have liked to know while it was happening. Besides that, the coke and pretzels were divine. :)
clean. Seat covers nice and clean. furniture color scheme pleasant.
1. Seat distance by far too less.
2. seat width on the borderline of being acceptable.
3.. No entertainment, not even a flight info screen available.
4. Only instant coffee available. If it is instant, cappuccino or other café specialities should be available. Emirates and Etihad make the example.
5. Food okay - but not for french airline. No innovation, no thought in it. Standard "how do I get the cattle fed the cheapest possible" food.
6. Electrical / USB / Network plugs or WIFI unknown.
The plane had seats is about the only positive thing that I can think off.
There was a incident during takeoff (bird in engine) so we had to land again, an accident that obviously can happen. What happened after that was a incredible demonstration of the inability of this airline to communicate and assist passengers!!!
They may be able to advertise but their operations and ability makes you wonder if they got their license to operate in a box of breakfast cerial!!! Complete caos and lack of knowledge of basic passengers rights was blatantly demonstrated as well as their complete lack of resources headed to deal with a situation like that.
Do not confuse this company with a proper airline because they definitely do not deserve to be ranked as one!
Flying with a Captain with this being his last flight after 45 years flying for Icelandair.
Would love to get a photo of him in front of a Icelandair jet or in the cockpit as a remembrance of my
first trip to Iceland and the captains last flight. Could that be arranged ?

I'm not a big guy at all but it was immediately evident that the seats are pretty narrow.
We checked in at O'hare 3 hours prior to the schedule departure and were told the flight was delayed 2 hours. We inquired because we would miss our connection in Iceland (only an hour layover). The check-in crew assured us that we would make time in the air and the connecting flight would wait for us. We did NOT make any time in the air and when we started landing (2 hours late), we checked with the on-board crew, who again, promised that the connection would wait.
When we got off, they had NOT waited. We went to the desk and found out we had been rebooked for a flight 6 hours later through Frankfurt, which put us in Brussels 10 hours after our original arrival. We lost an entire day of hotel, tours, etc that Iceland air had no intention of compensating us for. Additionally, even though we had 6 hours in Iceland, our bags were NOT re-tagged, so we had no luggage after our very delayed arrival in Brussels.I will be placing a formal complaint with the EU customer protection agency for this.
Additionally, there was no food on board (for a 6 hour transatlantic flight!), they weighed our carry-ons and made us check them in (and then lost it, leaving us with no clothes) and the seats were the most uncomfortable seats I've ever encountered on a plane.
I would NOT recommend Iceland air to anyone and will never fly with them again. Awful experience of 24 hours of being lied to, deceived, and misinformed.
