Pros: crew was excellent!
Pros: At least it was delayed so we could make it to SFO.
Cons: The American Airlines flight was delayed so the delayed flight from Honolulu could make it to Los Angeles and not subject AA to additional complaints. We arrived at close to midnight and worried about getting the car out of the parking lot without incurring additional charges of and additional day. The food was not great.
Pros: JAL lounge at Haneda was the best I've ever been in. The Business Class configuration is terrific -- as private as can be on an airplane, without going First. And the JAL staff, on the ground as well as in the air, are Grade A diplomats, counselors, and -- in a word -- professionals. Which is sorely lacking in US air carriers, who don't seem to understand that air travel is a service industry, and to excel in a service industry, PEOPLE are most important to the customers. Specifically, having enough people: US airline employees are well-trained professionals too, but "corporate" consistently under-hires/deploys, which leaves employees juggling far too much at once, which degrades the service experience for the customer. Yeah, I get "the bottom line," but service industry customers will always go to businesses that offer better service. Ok, rant over. JAL is tops.
Cons: Security and Immigration at Tokyo Haneda is harder than at US airports, but that's to be expected and nothing that JAL can control.
Pros: Crew was very nice and did a great job. Comfy seat. Smooth flight!
Pros: Food was good. Good leg room. Smooth flight.
Pros: The crew were very friendly.
Cons: The entertainment selection is really small.
Pros: Crew was courteous. Flight in general was uneventful which is a good thing.
Cons: Nothing to criticize. Flight experience was good but not exordinary.
Pros: From the food (dinner and lunch), to the spacious seats, to the impressive beverage selection, there is little I would change. The small touches, including coming through the cabin regularly with delicious green tea, made this a wonderful flight.
Pros: Food was amazing. But Yoshinoya wasn't a good idea, I do not eat beef.
Pros: Excellent Service, food and beverage. Comfortable aircraft cabin atmosphere.
Cons: in-flight Wifi is not working
Pros: everything. Flying on JAL was a fantastic experience. I'm not much for flying and was worried about the long flight, but I loved every minute of it. The flight attendance were so sweet and nice, the food was great. I would even go to Japan again just to fly with JAL!!!
Pros: Best service and food among a few hundred flights I have taken so far. CAs were always courteous. They are smiling to each other and looked happy. It was really nice to see that.
Cons: When booking the flights, I didn't know that I wasn't able to reserve a seat until check-in at the airport. Even usual online check-in was available for my ticket. I might have not purchased this ticket if I knew this limitation. It would be nice to know it at the time of booking.
Pros: Staff and service good
Cons: 777-300 plane business class very old and tired
Pros: Boarding was quick as i've come to expect from DFW.
Cons: I bought economy to save money, but unfortunately since I got the very back of the plane my seat couldn't recline.
Pros: Food and beverages were served promptly. Moreover there were several rounds of coffee and tea service so that I never went thirsty. My economy seating was still given first class service.
Pros: Lots of leg room in economy, flat screen, very friendly crew, and this was the cheapest direct flight to Japan I could find 2 weeks in advance!
Pros: I always like to fly JAL because of their excellent customer service. Very comfortable flight, too. Very smooth take-off and landing.
Pros: Liked creative approaches with the meals, with new/different menu - some room for improvements but generally good Loved the movie selection
Cons: Found the seats hard and uncomfortable after a few hours although the leg space was more generous in economy than United/ANA
Pros: The flight crew were very attentive, polite, and full of genuine smiles.
Pros: Everything was great except for how warm it was. It may be seasonal?
Cons: There weren’t any personal vents on the 777 going to or coming back from Japan. Otherwise it was a perfectly fine flight. I just don’t do well when it’s too warm as it make me feel sick.
Pros: The food
Pros: Service was excellent!
Cons: It was a great flight!
Pros: They give a lot of food and the 12 hour flight was comfortable
Cons: Limited selection for entertainment
Pros: Excellent entertainment and the crews attention made me fell welcomed.
Pros: The Economy class seats had a lot of room - which is unusual for tall people ;-)
Pros: Excellent customer service
Pros: My wife and I made the rookie mistake of showing up to the wrong airport in Osaka but the JAL staff helped us by transferring our reservation to a later flight so that we were still able to make our connecting flight from Tokyo to San Francisco. We're grateful to the entire staff at JAL for saving us a lot of time and money!
Pros: I was highly impressed with Japan Air's staff both at the gate and on the flight. It was incredible customer service. I get really anxious with flying and traveling in general and was so eased just by their friendliness and organization. Thank you! I also forgot to write a review but my flight from San Diego to Tokyo on June 27 was also amazing. I was really stressed out over some logistics of my trip and the people at the gate in San Diego were so helpful!
Pros: I didn't expect neck pillow on board
Cons: Seat wilder would be great
Pros: Crew service is adequate. There's not much to complain about. Also I like they always put extra stuff on a table in the back, in case any passenger want to get extra between meals.
Cons: The aisle is getting narrower and narrower. I sat by the aisle, and my elbow sometimes got in the way inadvertently or unintentionally.
Pros: super comfortable seats, great food, huge monitor, non stop service for the 13 hours plus JFK-hnd new flight
Cons: Aisle seats not very private, remote control not intuitive to use
Pros: My sister got airsick the last hour of the flight. The flight attendants were extremely helpful and considerate in easing her discomfort.
Pros: I have gotten used to long flights on various American airlines where it seems the staff do the minimal amount. Service is so incredibly better on Japan Airlines. Staff respond when you ask for assistance. They smile and work with the passengers. They were actively present almost all the time which was amazing. There is just no, "no," on Japanese Airlines. I loved the media options.
Cons: It has been a while but the food was not as good as I remembered from way back when, or maybe that was Korean Air? It was, however, hot when it should be hot and cold when it should be cold.
Pros: Had Hindu vegetarian meals, which were good for airplane food and much better than the "standard" fare for the rest of the plane. The flight attendants were very nice and helpful.
Cons: Space under the seat in front of me was very cramped - a large box for electronics got in the way and made it difficult to get into a comfortable position, which is tough for an 11-hour flight.. The plane was completely full, and my husband and I had to sit in separate rows - I was never able to switch the seats, even though I called several times and tried at the airport as well. Entertainment selection not as good as the American flight out. The JAL website (English version at least) is not very easy to use.
Pros: Clean :)
Cons: The flight attendants were talking in the back all through the flight. I was seated third row from the back, so they were audible throughout the flight and very annoying.
Pros: Clean aircraft. More space between seats. Pleasant, eager to please cabin crew. Good movie choices.
Cons: The food was no better than any other airplane food.
Pros: Excellent service by JAL check-in people and the flight crew. Also, for a standard economy seat, I found the seat spacing and resulting legroom was generous - and I'm 6 ft. tall.
Cons: Can't think of anything, really.
Pros: Nothing really special.
Cons: They love the PA system. They want to make announcements in multiple languages all the time.
Pros: Crew did a first-rate job, and space in economy seating was civilized. Snacks and juices were tasty and plentiful. Bathrooms were spacious and waits for access were manageable. Television screens and headphones in economy were easy to use and reproduced video and audio content well. Overhead storage space was adequate, even for an almost fully-booked flight whose passengers relied upon it very heavily.
Cons: One of my vegetarian meals (the larger of the two) wasn't vegetarian. This was astonishing -- a first for me in more than twenty years of flights across the Pacific. Not once have I had a vegetarian meal that included chicken, but that is just what was served to me on this flight; I was obliged to spit it out, and to wash my mouth afterwards. The selection of films offered was demoralizingly poor, and the seatback pockets afforded even less storage space than usual.
Pros: Everything from delicious Japanese cuisine to attentive and courteous customer service from ground crew to flight crew greatly impressed our family. Being able to fly to Haneda is even better. We plan to fly JAL from now on.
Pros: flight attendants are always nice and gentle on JAL. Food is great. Rarely late departures
Cons: nothing really
Cons: Food is not that good
Pros: Upgraded to premium economy and the seat was comfortable. However the food was lacking. The snack was a collection of overly sweet bars and bread. The meal was okay.
Pros: Japan airline and ANA airline are the best quality. Service, foods everything is good wonderful!!
Pros: We boarded quickly and orderly. The crew was very attentive and made sure we all had enough to eat and drink. The food was good, the tea and coffee was good.
Cons: Not a darn thing....
Pros: The upgraded seating.
Pros: I liked the snack bag given at the beginning of flight. Long flights tend to dehydrate, I would like to see more bottled water available.
Pros: JAL in general.
Pros: The crew did a great job making sure everyone was safe and comfortable.
Cons: Be friendlier for pets flying in the cargo hold. Reducing the capacity from 20 to 5 per flight and regularly increasing the fees is not helpful at all.
Cons: Usually offer water at your seat repeatedly. Only one time in 11 hour flight? Corona prevention?
Pros: EVA does a nice job getting all of the service out and making sure you have everything you want.
Cons: If you are a big guy upgrade to exit row or economy plus. This is an airline that doesn’t generally serve people that are over 6’ or 200 lbs.
Pros: Crew was courteous and helpful.
Cons: Most seats have reclining problems. Very stiff and difficult to adjust.
Pros: Crew was great. Economy seat was like any economy seat on an airplane. The seats recline more than others I have flown on. The only thing that I liked was that the plane was not filled and I could stretch out a bit on some empty seats.
Cons: The food was horrible.
Pros: I loved the fact that once I got to Taipei I had a very short layover and back to SFO. Awesome
Pros: Great champagne. Good food. Good movie selection. Great seat. Pajamas.
Cons: Nothing. Excellent airline.
Pros: They let me sleep during dinner
Cons: It would have been nice to be given an aisle that had some empty seats because I have long legs
Pros: The crew members were good but the seat is small with not much of leg room. Foods were suck & not appearing
Cons: Good appearing & tasty foods with better snacks
Pros: Great crew and nice comfortable seats
Cons: Great service from flight staff.
Pros: Crews are excellent
Cons: More legroom
Cons: More leg room
Pros: Seat was ok
Cons: Everything could have been better
Pros: Efficient crew
Cons: Flight late
Cons: Cramped economy seats
Pros: First time flying EVA. They made it easy!
Cons: No complaints!
Pros: I was lucky enough to have extra seats next to me so I slept well on the plane. I appreciated how friendly the stewardesses were, and also the ease of boarding, the prompt food service, and cleainess of the plane (and restrooms too)
Cons: The dining options were ok, not particularly wonderful, but overall pretty good.
Cons: Seat width
Pros: Crew were very friendly and helpful. The flight attendants seemed to have a genuine interest in the needs and comfort of the passengers.
Cons: For such a long flight, the seats were too small and not enough leg room.
Pros: I was happy to be back on EVA after a bad experience on Thai Air.
Cons: That I was not compensated in any way for my previous flight BR68 from Bangkok to Taiwan that was cancelled. I was put into another airline barely in time that had poor food, no entertainment & smaller seats. Waiting for EVA to respond with some sort of compensation so I don't have to switch airlines. ANA is looking really good right now.
Pros: Very spacious seating. Great staff, and smooth flight.
Cons: I never got my vegetarian meal as requested. That was too bad.
Pros: The flight to Taiwan from LAX was miserable. It was so hot i sweated the entire 14 hours. Was told they cannot adjust it. Easier to get blanket to be warm no way to cool off
Pros: Good food, attentive staff, but entertainment need a little upgrade . Overall it was good
Cons: i wish they had better hygiene
Cons: Seat are too small and have no legs room
Pros: In-town checkin at the Taipei main MTR station. Check in, luggage gets scanned and is taken from there to the airport. You just hop on the train with no luggage to haul with you.
Cons: Flight attendants were unfriendly. My headphone disappeared on the flight , no help from flight attendants.
Pros: Great service by the crew / flight attendants! Good food (to me) We lucked out due to not a full flight
Cons: Limited entertainment selection (though we did find some interesting Asian films to watch ....)
Pros: Helpful, professional, and friendly cabin crew, who are also easy on the eyes:) Individual movie screens.
Cons: The food is mediocre at best. But it's no worse than most economy cabins. Need better movies.
Cons: I have never sat in such terrible plane seats. First, there are FOUR seats but there are only THREE partitions at the bottom, meaning I had to share leg space and purse space with the stranger next to me. It's awkward enough sitting next to someone I don't know and having to worry about accidentally leaning on him when I fall asleep but having to constantly be in contact with his leg was very uncomfortable. I kind of got over it after awhile but I could tell the kid I was having leg time with was super uncomfortable since he would jerk his leg away every time it touched mine. Sorry to be harsh but I don't know how you're getting 9.0+ scores from the other customers. Yeah your flights are cheap but your seat options suck and the movies weren't good enough to make up for it. D+. You get what you pay for I suppose but your tix weren't that much different from the other more comfortable airlines.
Pros: Good leg room and seats are comfortable. Food was better than most airplane food. Entertainment system was great as well!
Cons: Flight attendants were obnoxious about window shades. They could have come around with water a little more frequently as well.
Pros: Very good. Staff is great
Cons: Need more water available throughout flight
Pros: Same as above
Pros: 20'' wide seat & 38'' pitch meal choices Great IFE
Cons: very crowed flight not enough choice left when reach my row (24A & B) ambient temperature too warm
Pros: Nice airplane! Loved the movie selections and the meals. Exceptional service!
Pros: All in house setvices
Pros: Clean. On time. Efficient friendly service.
Cons: Limited selection of films. Food was really bland. I expected much more from EVA. Disappointed. No in between meals snack offered. No comfort pouch offered (tooth brush, face mask, ear plugs, etc).
Pros: Crew is very professional and helpful. I like the sticker for the transfer flight.
Cons: They just seem overworked and perhaps that is why they don't smile as much as I would expect. The movie selection going back to SF seem much less than going to Taipei. Selection seemed much more limiting. I wished there is a way to be more environmental with the plastic cups. Perhaps give everybody a re-useable cup in the beginning and we keep it throughout the flight. By the end of the flight, each person wasted at least 8-10 cups. That is a lot of waste.
Pros: Entertainment and arrived 1 hr early as scheduled.
Cons: No priority boarding for passenger with kids. Beverages needs to be offered routinely. Passenger should be served wirh food, awake or not. No loot bag offered to children.
Pros: Great experience flying with EVA, boarded late but still arrived on time, better food than other airlines though still airplane food, flight attendants very courteous and nice
Cons: For such a long international flight, I would suggest offering more water throughout flight as I've appreciated on other airlines
Cons: check in at SFO was chaotic on the outbound flight, and the guy at the counter really fought me on the price of my surfboard bag. he wanted to charge me $300, when it was really only $100 for the size of bag I had. I called ahead and made sure of the size limit for the $100 fee and even went and bought a new bag to hold my boards specifically to fit. Also, had to go to a separate counter and wait in a separate line to pay the fee, which took quite a while and seemed VERY unnecessary.
Cons: Just fine only 2 hrs overlay
Pros: Everything is good. Overall we had a better experience comparing KUL to TPE.
Pros: Great food service, comfortable chairs, and adequate entertainment on the screen.
Cons: Crew members pulled out my earphones when they could have just asked me to take them out. It was a bit pushy of them and others still had their earphones in and they let them leave it in upon landing
Pros: staff was friendly. Planes very comfortable. Wine the whole way home. Movie selection great. I had a whole row of 3 seats together to myself for a 12 hour flight #winning
Cons: I didn't like the layover but that had nothing to do with Eva air. Eva air was great and I would def recommend to others
Pros: Very comfortable flight
Cons: The food was awful.
Cons: Movie selection was lacking\ Bathroom floor was wet; I needed to wipe ti up myself
Pros: Everthing was up to the mark
Cons: Everything was satisfactory
Pros: Excellent crew
Cons: It was nice experience
Pros: The staff is very customer friendly. One of the best. I
Cons: In general the toilets are clean but for this trip they weren’t very neat.
Cons: Flight was delayed for 4 hrs, the additional delays st the arrival airport.
Pros: I don't know why now there was no little gift or stuff keep kids busy during the flight, but only movie.
Cons: keep providing little gifts for kids
Pros: Again the food was excellent
Cons: Not enough operational toilets
Pros: Service was very good. Food was decent. Surprised CX served dinner early in the morning Pacific time right before arrival at SFO instead to breakfast.
Cons: There was an extra layer of normal security check at the HKG gate 15. The male team leader, probably in '50's, with two bars on his shoulder was extremely rude to the passengers. I was at the front of Economy class when a female Asian passenger walked up in the Business class ilne. He naturally tendered to her first and let her and directing her to a lower security ranking staff t the other side of area. All fine and dandy. But seconds later, a Caucasian male walked u,p indicating that he was with that female Asian, the security guard got real mad, shouted at the Asian woman who by then was some 20 feet away that next time she needed to tell him he was with someone. When it was my turn to go into the secured area, there were to guards available standing side by side, a male and a female. He let me and pointed toward the two guards. I asked him which one, he didn't answer. I asked a second time, "Male or female", he still didn't answer, just pointed his finger toward the two guards. His attitude was totally unacceptable.
Cons: Needed to use two sections train and bus for transit. Entering airplane using stair layer very inconvenient for customers.
Pros: Staff were nice. Lots of legroom
Cons: The food was pathetic. Bland and smelled funny. Chaos at luggage retrieval. For some reason they were pulling bags off the conveyor belt, even before it was full. So had to run back and forth to check.
Pros: Disciplined, timeliness.
Pros: The airline stewardess are nice Smile
Cons: The Cx892 restroom floor was wet, the paper towels kept falling down, the sink was got stuck
Pros: Inflight crew
Cons: There was no wheelchair assistance for one of us ,while the other had.we we're told there was no staff to help with wheelchair! The inflight entertainment options are very poor when compared to Singapore and Emirates.
Pros: Excellent meals, excellent entertainment system, great staff
Pros: Upgraded seats
Cons: Same Some staff still needs training, sinplying saying no, is not acceptable, finding a solution and working towards a resuloution is more acceptable. Better verbiage used, checking on food count making sure EVERYONE gets what’s printed on the menu. Asking everyone equally on the same roll is the rule of thumb.
Pros: I had three previous satisfying flights in this airline- this one was not so and unfortunately it was a long flight.
Cons: Tris time thenplane felt old, my headset didn’t work, the food was not satisfactory ( I ordered vegetarian), and the staff was just not very friendly.
Pros: It was a lovely flight. Food/drinks were excellent.
Cons: Toilet cleanliness needs to be better.
Cons: Gate change from 34 to 4 in hgk airport was too far.
Pros: On time, easy check in and boarding
Cons: Lack of variety in food choices, long wait at tarmac for take off from Beijing
Pros: Food is great!
Cons: Bathrooms are not as clean.
Pros: Agent actually walked me to my connecting flight due to short turn around time which saved me from having to search the way by myself.
Pros: Great food, great movie selection.
Cons: Delay in serving wine for 12hr flight, then did not refill wine with dinner service. Also ran out of breakfast dim sum.
Pros: Flight attendants were very helpful in helping us find storage space for our carry-ons in a crowded plane. Very polite and attentive service.
Cons: On time - all good.
Pros: booking price was a great deal. flight attendants was awesome! she gave a headache pill for my wife that helped a lot. thank you
Pros: The stewardesses were super helpful, quick to respond and the pilot even gave regular updates.
Cons: Bumpy flight and the crew didn't really come around to check on what the passengers needed aka water etc.
Cons: Food seemed old and crew was too busy
Pros: keep it up
Pros: 2 full meals and snacks, gave you a little blanket and pillow. A lot of movies and music to choose from. Able to walk around and stretch. Most crew very helpful.
Cons: Middle row every time and difficult to get out. Always out of the Asian meal choice if you weren't Asian. No one followed the directions the crew gave for boarding and crew seemed unable to fix that.
Pros: Need more movie selection on classic
Pros: The flight attendants were top notch and very busy and efficacious. I was impressed that they were always so helpful, courteous, and energetic even after a 12 hour flight!
Cons: Very uncomfortable with POOR AIRFLOW, mid way in the economy cabin, next to window (seat 44k). It was like trying to breath through a straw. I asked flight attendant if they could check the air flow, and her answer was that the temperature was 23C and everyone one else had blankets. My concern was not with temperature but FLOW. SO I went to back cabin (6 rows back) and the airflow was much much better and I could actually sleep. So bottom line there is an airflow issue mid economy cabin on the central AC jets. They should address this by putting back in air nozzles or checking actual airflow on these jets. This is very uncomfortable on long flights. Not sure I would fly this jet again for this reason.
Cons: Food was worse no snacks at all
Cons: Cabin crew was poor in English communication skill. I remain skeptical how the cabin crew could effectively communicate to passengers in the case of an in-flight or ground emergency. Pillow covers were filthy. There were body fluid stains and long hairs stuck to the covers. I went through and rejected four of them. Inflight service was good but there was an unwritten Cathay Pacific rule that I was not aware of.........each passenger is restricted to two alcohol beverage drinks in any one hour period.
Pros: It was clean. Service was prompt, but my earlier flight was better because attendants were more attentive and accommodating.
Cons: Bathrooms weren't cleaned as often. Toilet seat covers were out both times I used the bathroom (same). Drinks were okay.
Cons: We missed our connection because Cathay was delayed. They booked us in a nice hotel in Hong Kong but failed to reimburse us for food as promised. In fact, no one was able to prove us with proper information on how to handle refunds. The next flight was late over an hour. No reason provided. Overall, no one knows what's up and any inconveniences are the customer's problem to deal with.
Cons: The flight was delayed by almost 4 hours from Hong Kong. There are elaborate security check at the last minute. Not even sure if it was just to kill the time. Because the departure time kept moving to later and later time.
Pros: Cathay Pacific takes great care of you. The food is good (for airline food anyway), the staff is helpful, and there is a pretty good selection of free movies. I would definitely fly with them again.
Pros: I really appreciated the customer service and the level of quality Cathay provides.
Cons: The vegetarian meals could improve.
Pros: Good collection of entertainment options
Cons: Biggest gripe: No onboard wifi. As a business traveller, this is important to me.
Cons: I was at the window seat. They weren't really paying attention to me when they bring water or collect the trash.
Pros: Cathay offer a hotel for the overnight delay at Grand Harbor hotel with a free taxi voucher. This is a good help for us to prepare for the horrible next day.
Cons: The missed flight to SFO was replaced by another flight to LAX next day and then from LAX to SFO via United as domestic flight. This is horrible experience since we had to check out all luggages, go through custom and then check in the bags again with all weighing problems. The worse is that to go from International terminal to United domestic counter, we had to pull the luggages along the curb from one end of the airport to the other side of it. We will never take this option again
Cons: seat wasn't the best for my back even reclined.
Pros: Overall service was excellent
Cons: Process needs inprovement. Had to wait 1 hour for my bag at SFO. 2/3 of bags showed up within 15 min. Nobody seemed to know what's going on. Business class was relatively empty, yet the airline did not make any offer for upgrade to business, at flight time. So many other airlines do it the days. Food average at best. Prefer more quality food, even if i have to pay extra
Pros: Plane was newer & clean. Cabin crew was helpful & nice with my dad transferring from wheel chair to the plane
Cons: My family traveled with my 80 year old dad but Hong Kong ground crew would not allow us to board together. My wife & I had to carry all our carry on baggage since my mom was the only one allowed to board with him. All three previous flights the ground crew allowed all of us to stay as a family.
Cons: Impossible to contact by chat or phone.... prefer Singapore airlines...
Pros: Best meal service ever, my husband never eats airplane food but gobbled up the dinner and the breakfast served. Seats were comfortable, beverages were readily available, one of the best airlines in the world.
Cons: Didn't have slippers, only socks. Slightly inconvenient having to put shoes back on to run to the restroom, which sometimes have wetness from God knows what.
Pros: Crew were nice and accommodating. Food was good.
Cons: Useless English movies and very few latest movies.
Pros: The service and food was excellent!
Cons: The seat would not lean back d/t the person sitting behind me
Pros: The Cathay crew as always were polite and attentive to me. I love icecream. I love cake.
Cons: Sometimes crewmembers were a little over rushed, skipping people for drinks and such, and not being particularly gracious when asked to back track (this didn't happen to me, but I witnessed it happening to others (East Indians, actually)). Economy is really cramped and awful for international flights. I wish I could afford better, but the step up in cost is beyond my budget. The food on this particular flight didn't seem as well prepared or presented as usual, but it was still ample serving and tasty enough.
Pros: A staff of 2 attendants on a crowded A 321 is minimal, not optimal
Cons: flight delayed by several hours
Pros: Amazing crews
Cons: Less option in special request in online. Gates and planes are not updated when applied online
Cons: For the second time I traveled with Air Canada there was a 4 hour delay in Toronto. I will not be traveling with Air Canada ever again
Pros: Our daughter's first time traveling alone. She slept most of the time and she said it was fine and comfortable enough.
Cons: The flight was delayed by an hour and then once up in the air, passengers were told the food cart didn't make it the 6 hour flight so no food or snacks for the entire flight from Montreal to San Francisco.
Pros: Entertainment. GoGo did not want to work for me at 1 he before arrival.
Cons: Give me a coupon for food before takeoff or on arrival. Skip the CupofNoodles. After Japan and Shanghai, cup of noodles seem really in bad taste.
Cons: Delayed for 2 hrs! Crew not particularly great.
Pros: Flight pretty much on time
Cons: Total commotion at gate. Two flights jammed into one small gate area. Rep was surly and embarrased many who were confused in the commotion and ynclear communication from the boarding agent. Tv didnt work for 4 hrs.
Pros: Good leg room. Staff friendly and helpful. Really great flight.
Pros: On tiime
Cons: Has to wait an hour and a half at the gate to park in sanfransico
Pros: A lot of leg room.
Cons: Air Canada flights are always delayed. The crew is rude and usually not helpful when asking for something. In addition, when I bought the ticket I was asked if I spoke English because I was sitting in the exit row; however, the couple sitting next to me obviously did not speak and they let them stay there anyways.
Cons: We were already running late when during take off, one of the engines malfunctioned and we had to emergency break on the runway and go back to the gate. Because it was unexpected, we had to wait even longer for a gate to become available. We then had to re go through customs and get our bags then wait in line again at the counter to schedule our flight for the next day. Thankfully we were given a hotel room and money for food. Very scary experience overall on the runway, but they tried to handle it as smoothly as possible under the unusual circumstances.
Cons: Instructions on Air Canada's website when you Google "how early should you get to the airport flying Canada to USA" say you should get there 3 hours ahead of time. For a 6:40 flight I got to the airport at 3:40, as instructed, and checkin wasn't even open. Per Air Canada's website "You should arrive at the airport three (3) hours before your flight's scheduled departure time. Pre-board security screening for departures to the U.S. opens at 3:00 AM. Exception: 20 minutes for flights departing from Toronto City Airport (YTZ)." Check in staff told me I should have gotten there 2 hours ahead. This is very conflicting. Considering I was heading to a 10 hour trade show, believe me that hour of sleep I lost between 2:30 when I had to get up for this flight and 3:30 when I could have gotten up sure was missed. Correct and consistent instructions to passengers go a long way.
Pros: I had a medical incident and air Canada moved me to a more comfortable seat and gave me oxygen to help me recover. Also the stuardesses all were really nice and made it their priority to make sure I was doing OK through the rest of the flight
Cons: There was no designated person as a medical professional to handle emergency situations. an emergency situation can occur anytime. luckily there was a passenger aboard who knew what to do I think his name was Dave you should give him thanks.
Cons: The 6 1/2 hour flight from Montréal CANADA to San Francisco, CA USA, is considered a "shared border flight," which means 1) you pay $25 for your first checked bag, $35 for the next, and $100 for subsequent bags. The food is horrible and the type you'd expect on a puddle jumper from NY to Boston. Clearly Air Canada executives are aware that Canada and the US are separate countries. This is just an attempt to gouge the consumer. Unfortunately Air Canada is the only Airline I can fly out of Montreal so I'm stuck with them. : (
Cons: We had to pay for the checked in luggage, food etc. The arm rest doesn't go back all the way. Small seat space.
Pros: The flight from YVR to SFO was good, but the flight from SFO to YVR was horrible. So I'm giving you an average score from both flights. Note: both flights were booked through Air Canada but were operated by United.
Cons: I booked through Air Canada but the flight was operated through United. There was NO communication regarding what terminal the flight left from and I almost missed my flight because the board said international but that was incorrect. Many people did miss their flights and everyone was MAD. I was re-booked on a later flight but fortunately I made the original flight because I happened to be walking by the gate when they called for final boarding. My seat was at the very back of the plane next to the bathrooms. When the flight took off a funnel of water poured down my back from the baggage bins above. My entire back, pants and underwear got soaked. It was disgusting. The stewardess said it was most likely water from condensation/air conditioner and offered me some paper towels. I moved to the aisle seat. Thank goodness it was open, because when we landed a ton more water poured on to my old empty seat. Once again the stewardesses didn't think it was a big deal. I feel badly for whomever sat in that back seat the next flight out. I'm sure they got soaked too. The stewardesses could not have cared less. I'm sure they didn't bother to report it.
Pros: Excellent and diverse film selection. I broadened my horizons watching documentaries on hacking, gun running, and on an Afghan refugee teen in Iran, a film about a black American teen in Germany, and a French drama.
Cons: Most of the time economy class is uncomfortable because of the lack of foot room. So this time, for the long flight from China, I chose an exit row precisely for the extra leg space. However, there is no footrest at all , which as you're surely aware, is terribly uncomfortable when sitting for long periods, let along trying to sleep. Furthermore, the exit row seats are not provided a substitute for missing the usual back-of-the-seat pocket with magazines ; that means no spot to place books/papers/trash for the entire flight. Finally, I am 5'2 and petite, and was seated between two fairly slim men, and yet we were still all squeezed side to side. I had no elbow rest. I actually rested my head on one man's shoulder, once he was asleep, and hope he didn't notice. While this is unfortunately typical of economy class, it is not decent.
Pros: I liked that is an all business carrier, the steward was personable and totally on charged. For a short flight it was excellent !!
Pros: Had screens and movies available. Crew was nice and flight wasn't overly packed.
Cons: Uncomfortable, had to sit sideways since my seat didn't recline and the passenger in front on me reclined into my lap. Stewardess did nothing to help, chose to ignore me and went in the back to knit..
Cons: not even peanuts included on a 6h flight is remarkable
Cons: The flight stood on the runway for multiple hours. We should have been let out to the airport so we could eat
Pros: This plane had entertainment on each seat and seats were more comfortable than other airlines.
Cons: The plane was full and was running out of over head storage for people sitting toward the back and people already seated were being very rude about us slightly moving their bags to try to fit in ours. Some angry Spaniards were litterslly shouting at us for us moving their luggage a few inches at best! No help from the plane crew on this matter. They should really arrange boarding from both ends.
Pros: In flight Game of Thrones!!
Cons: The lines at YVR were horrendous.
Pros: on time, boarded quickly
Cons: On the way back from Quebec City to Montreal we were asked to check our carry-ons as luggage, because "there is no room' on the plane. It was an empty flight. ALL overhead compartments were empty. Both flights - Quebec to Montreal and Montreal San Francisco were late. As the result, we have to spend 1.5 hours in the baggage claim area, because "there are no baggage agents in SFO available". THAT WAS THE WHOLE REASON WE ONLY HAD CARRY-ONS! By far, one of the worst flight experience in the last 10 year.
Pros: Size of plane allowing for aisle seating.
Cons: Delay with boarding for about hour without a good explanation. All monitors in airport shows plane on time when it actually was not. Boarding process also took a bit of time perhaps due to many elderly on the flight. Seating was also confusing as the middle seats did not correspond with aisle seating. This caused delays as passengers had to figure out where they were sitting. Checked in luggage at gate since flight was full and we were asked to volunteer to check-in luggage. At baggage claim, bag delay to retrieve luggage after already hour delay in departure. Bags was not labeled or categorized correctly causing an extra half hour delay to claim bags.
Cons: Air Canada shares a trait with many other incompetent organizers: everything is fine if nothing goes wrong, but there are no contingency plans in place in case something goes wrong. So, things get more and more delayed. Can't you predict roughly when the plane is going to land (once it is in the air!) and arrange for some gate to be open, so that we don't have to sit on the ground for 45 minutes once it has landed, for example? People who know how to organize are ordinarily capable of doing that. Furthermore, the lack of transparency is really frustrating: we just sit on the tarmac with no indication of how long we're going to be there, and the estimates of the delays are completely wrong when we're given them.
Pros: Lovely crew.
Cons: Coach seating on the 777 is tight for anyone with long legs over 6 feet tall.
Cons: Flights delayed both there and back, with no advance warning and no reason given. Online & airport signage said flight "on time" the whole time. Asked Air Canada Customer Service desk in Toronto to change signage to accurate time, they were SUPER snooty and treated me like an idiot. Signage did not change, my husband came to airport "on time" to pick me up and then had to sit there 1-1/2 hours. They are inconsiderate jerks.
Pros: Stewardess was friendly Movies were good Relatively room and clean Customs in Vancouver was awesome!!!
Cons: Steward getting on the plane in Shanghai had an attitude, was actually a jerk Food was not very appetizing
Pros: The landing of the plane was good and one flight attendant was courteous. The movie options were pretty good. At least the wine was free.
Cons: The check-in counter in DCA was AWFUL with only two people running and no kiosks working. They were rude and didn't listen to us either. When we got to the food part, it was disguisting. First of all, I am vegetarian but even if I ate meat, I wouldnt have eaten it. So I just ate bread for the 13 hour flight. Besides one flight attendant, the rest were rude, harsh and had a generally bad attitude. AIr Canada has BY FAR been the worst travel experience for me thus far. I guess you get what you pay for.
Pros: Arrived safely and on time.
Cons: Cabin crew seemed too much like salespersons. Aircraft was overly air conditioned but blankets were available only by purchase
Pros: The seats were very comfortable. Food was surprisingly good!
Cons: There was 1 crew member who once spilled ice over me & laughed it off saying he was just checking to see if I"m awake. Then another time spilled OJ on me & didn't even notice or apologize or offer a napkin so I can clean myself off. Also I had wanted to upgrade my seat for this flight but was unable to because there was no representative at the huge airport in Shanghai. Nor could I do it online. That was a huge inconvenience!
Pros: We arrived on time and safely.
Cons: The boarding process was a mess. This is due more to the Toronto airport than Air Canada. Passengers standing in front of the entrance to the gate made cueing up to enter when your zone was called impossible. Drinks were offered only twice on the 5 hour flight. Bathrooms were filthy.
Pros: All crews were nice and friendly.
Cons: Would have been great if I had a Entertainment (movies, TV etc) screen on my seat for my Vancouver - KIX flight.
Pros: once i got through checking in everything was ok
Cons: if i knew the name of the man i talked to at checkin i would make a complaint specifically about him. i lost my passport a few days before coming home and went to the united states consulate where they told me to bring a printed copy of my passport and the united states boarding patrol would let me back into the united states. the man at the checkin didn't want to let me through to even speak to the united states border patrol and told me the consulate was wrong. i almost missed my flight because of his stubborn arrogance. once past him i was able to explain what happened and show what identification I had and everyone was very nice to me.
Pros: Boarding is the best!
Cons: I do understand mechanical issues occur, but your communication of these issues was awful! My god, you cannot tell if your electronics are working before you board people. One thing I can say for America, they do not mess around.....they fix problems....your team sucked leaving Toronto Barcelona two weeks ago and then you suck leaving Toronto to SFO. Please understand, folks have flight connections and the number one thing then need from you, instead of water is information on whether their flight will be waiting for them!!!
Pros: Once again, attendants were pleasant. Plane was clean
Cons: No snacks served, only beverages. We could have at least received one bag of nuts/chips for the flight.
Pros: Crew was nice and friendly and gave free Direct TV
Cons: Kayak sent me an email indicating both my flights were on Air Canada but my flights to and from SFO were on United. I was unable to change my seats online with no explanation.
Pros: Clearing customs in Canada
Cons: Over priced food
Cons: We didn't like having to pay for carry on luggage. When we left SFO and flew to Montreal, if your bag was 21 inches, not 20 they checked it for free. Traveling back to SFO the counter person made us pay to check a bag, even though we knew if we went to the gate, they would take it. This was not good or consistent. We will not fly on Air Canada
Pros: They offered complimentary head phones as an apology for the delay
Cons: We were delayed 95 minutes due to repairs. Consequently when we arrived in San Francisco we had to sit on the tarmack for 15 minutes waiting for a gate to open up.
Pros: bigger seats than most average asian airlines
Cons: service is poor. have been on both economy and busines class in air canada and you are treated very differently. the staff on economy treat you indifferently and have a little chip of their shoulder. the food is awful and most flights you have to pay for food, even for international flights, which is apparently against the law as they are obligated to serving food. i had to pay for a bowl of noodles - omg. essentially it is really about service. Dismal. It is noted they often win north american awards for their service. If anyone has flown american airlines - yes it may be the best of the worst. So if you have an option, skip it altogether. Try Cathay / Qatar / Singapore airlines wow!
Pros: I enjoyed the pleasant crew and the constant water being given.
Cons: The crew was very pleasant and helpful. However it was unexpected that no food would be provided on a 5 hour flight. If not a small meal then a snack was expected. The crew did provide water consistently which was very nice. My personal entertainment screen was very unresponsive and then the head phone jack wasn't working for sound, I had to hold it at a certain angle to hear bits of sound. Since the head phone jack was located at my thigh it was very uncomfortable and when I shifted I broke my headphones :(
Cons: Air cananda made me go crazy... They didn't prepared anything after I missed my flight. Because of immigration. They just said to me that was not their fault. But you know, I arrived at air port 5am. My flight time was 8am. I asked aircanada clerks to get into gate quckily. But they had me wait for a long time, and they said everybody was waiting, so that's not problem. But when I got into gate at 8:45, My plane already had gone. And I went to Air canada service center, I had argued for 5hours... because they just prepared my flight from Toronto to San Francisco. They didn't care about Connected air plane was Asiana. So I Had to call three company.. Asiana, Kayak, air canada... that was horrible time. Air canada didn't want to have responsibility about missing air plane. That's why I had to contact with Asiana...the first time Asiana didn't want to prepare air plane for free... I had to try to explain my situation and problem three times.... Finally I got a ticket for free from Asiana. I could departure at 9pm from Toronto. I stayed in Pearson air port for 15hours... because of Air canada's GOOD!! customer service v^^v..... I will never use Air canada !!
Pros: On both legs of our flight to and from O'Hare to China, we had delays. The first was due to an ice storm in Toronto, where we changed planes, then the second due to compromised air space over the China Sea that Air Canada wisely chose to delay our flight rather than take a risk. The delays were handled professionally and pleasantly. It wasn't their fault. The agents and flight attendants were very attentive in trying to help us get our connecting flights, such as switching us to the front of the plane before landing so we could get off quickly. Alas, it didn't work, but they tried. Our checked bags came off quickly. I felt that we had more legroom on our AC flights than I have had recently on American aircrafts. Temperature was comfortable. We were regularly given water, drinks, and we had complementary meals with beer or wine. Food was pretty average, but the beverages were good. I would definitely fly with them again.
Cons: Food was just okay.
