Pros: crew was excellent!

Pros: At least it was delayed so we could make it to SFO.
Cons: The American Airlines flight was delayed so the delayed flight from Honolulu could make it to Los Angeles and not subject AA to additional complaints. We arrived at close to midnight and worried about getting the car out of the parking lot without incurring additional charges of and additional day. The food was not great.

Pros: JAL lounge at Haneda was the best I've ever been in. The Business Class configuration is terrific -- as private as can be on an airplane, without going First. And the JAL staff, on the ground as well as in the air, are Grade A diplomats, counselors, and -- in a word -- professionals. Which is sorely lacking in US air carriers, who don't seem to understand that air travel is a service industry, and to excel in a service industry, PEOPLE are most important to the customers. Specifically, having enough people: US airline employees are well-trained professionals too, but "corporate" consistently under-hires/deploys, which leaves employees juggling far too much at once, which degrades the service experience for the customer. Yeah, I get "the bottom line," but service industry customers will always go to businesses that offer better service. Ok, rant over. JAL is tops.
Cons: Security and Immigration at Tokyo Haneda is harder than at US airports, but that's to be expected and nothing that JAL can control.

Pros: My wife and I made the rookie mistake of showing up to the wrong airport in Osaka but the JAL staff helped us by transferring our reservation to a later flight so that we were still able to make our connecting flight from Tokyo to San Francisco. We're grateful to the entire staff at JAL for saving us a lot of time and money!

Pros: I was highly impressed with Japan Air's staff both at the gate and on the flight. It was incredible customer service. I get really anxious with flying and traveling in general and was so eased just by their friendliness and organization. Thank you! I also forgot to write a review but my flight from San Diego to Tokyo on June 27 was also amazing. I was really stressed out over some logistics of my trip and the people at the gate in San Diego were so helpful!

Pros: I have gotten used to long flights on various American airlines where it seems the staff do the minimal amount. Service is so incredibly better on Japan Airlines. Staff respond when you ask for assistance. They smile and work with the passengers. They were actively present almost all the time which was amazing. There is just no, "no," on Japanese Airlines. I loved the media options.
Cons: It has been a while but the food was not as good as I remembered from way back when, or maybe that was Korean Air? It was, however, hot when it should be hot and cold when it should be cold.

Pros: Had Hindu vegetarian meals, which were good for airplane food and much better than the "standard" fare for the rest of the plane. The flight attendants were very nice and helpful.
Cons: Space under the seat in front of me was very cramped - a large box for electronics got in the way and made it difficult to get into a comfortable position, which is tough for an 11-hour flight.. The plane was completely full, and my husband and I had to sit in separate rows - I was never able to switch the seats, even though I called several times and tried at the airport as well. Entertainment selection not as good as the American flight out. The JAL website (English version at least) is not very easy to use.

Pros: Crew did a first-rate job, and space in economy seating was civilized. Snacks and juices were tasty and plentiful. Bathrooms were spacious and waits for access were manageable. Television screens and headphones in economy were easy to use and reproduced video and audio content well. Overhead storage space was adequate, even for an almost fully-booked flight whose passengers relied upon it very heavily.
Cons: One of my vegetarian meals (the larger of the two) wasn't vegetarian. This was astonishing -- a first for me in more than twenty years of flights across the Pacific. Not once have I had a vegetarian meal that included chicken, but that is just what was served to me on this flight; I was obliged to spit it out, and to wash my mouth afterwards. The selection of films offered was demoralizingly poor, and the seatback pockets afforded even less storage space than usual.

Pros: Everything from delicious Japanese cuisine to attentive and courteous customer service from ground crew to flight crew greatly impressed our family. Being able to fly to Haneda is even better. We plan to fly JAL from now on.

Cons: I have never sat in such terrible plane seats. First, there are FOUR seats but there are only THREE partitions at the bottom, meaning I had to share leg space and purse space with the stranger next to me. It's awkward enough sitting next to someone I don't know and having to worry about accidentally leaning on him when I fall asleep but having to constantly be in contact with his leg was very uncomfortable. I kind of got over it after awhile but I could tell the kid I was having leg time with was super uncomfortable since he would jerk his leg away every time it touched mine. Sorry to be harsh but I don't know how you're getting 9.0+ scores from the other customers. Yeah your flights are cheap but your seat options suck and the movies weren't good enough to make up for it. D+. You get what you pay for I suppose but your tix weren't that much different from the other more comfortable airlines.

Cons: They just seem overworked and perhaps that is why they don't smile as much as I would expect. The movie selection going back to SF seem much less than going to Taipei. Selection seemed much more limiting. I wished there is a way to be more environmental with the plastic cups. Perhaps give everybody a re-useable cup in the beginning and we keep it throughout the flight. By the end of the flight, each person wasted at least 8-10 cups. That is a lot of waste.

Cons: check in at SFO was chaotic on the outbound flight, and the guy at the counter really fought me on the price of my surfboard bag. he wanted to charge me $300, when it was really only $100 for the size of bag I had. I called ahead and made sure of the size limit for the $100 fee and even went and bought a new bag to hold my boards specifically to fit. Also, had to go to a separate counter and wait in a separate line to pay the fee, which took quite a while and seemed VERY unnecessary.

Cons: There was an extra layer of normal security check at the HKG gate 15. The male team leader, probably in '50's, with two bars on his shoulder was extremely rude to the passengers. I was at the front of Economy class when a female Asian passenger walked up in the Business class ilne. He naturally tendered to her first and let her and directing her to a lower security ranking staff t the other side of area. All fine and dandy. But seconds later, a Caucasian male walked u,p indicating that he was with that female Asian, the security guard got real mad, shouted at the Asian woman who by then was some 20 feet away that next time she needed to tell him he was with someone. When it was my turn to go into the secured area, there were to guards available standing side by side, a male and a female. He let me and pointed toward the two guards. I asked him which one, he didn't answer. I asked a second time, "Male or female", he still didn't answer, just pointed his finger toward the two guards. His attitude was totally unacceptable.

Cons: Very uncomfortable with POOR AIRFLOW, mid way in the economy cabin, next to window (seat 44k). It was like trying to breath through a straw. I asked flight attendant if they could check the air flow, and her answer was that the temperature was 23C and everyone one else had blankets. My concern was not with temperature but FLOW. SO I went to back cabin (6 rows back) and the airflow was much much better and I could actually sleep. So bottom line there is an airflow issue mid economy cabin on the central AC jets. They should address this by putting back in air nozzles or checking actual airflow on these jets. This is very uncomfortable on long flights. Not sure I would fly this jet again for this reason.

Cons: Cabin crew was poor in English communication skill. I remain skeptical how the cabin crew could effectively communicate to passengers in the case of an in-flight or ground emergency. Pillow covers were filthy. There were body fluid stains and long hairs stuck to the covers. I went through and rejected four of them. Inflight service was good but there was an unwritten Cathay Pacific rule that I was not aware of.........each passenger is restricted to two alcohol beverage drinks in any one hour period.

Pros: It was clean. Service was prompt, but my earlier flight was better because attendants were more attentive and accommodating.
Cons: Bathrooms weren't cleaned as often. Toilet seat covers were out both times I used the bathroom (same). Drinks were okay.

Cons: We missed our connection because Cathay was delayed. They booked us in a nice hotel in Hong Kong but failed to reimburse us for food as promised. In fact, no one was able to prove us with proper information on how to handle refunds. The next flight was late over an hour. No reason provided. Overall, no one knows what's up and any inconveniences are the customer's problem to deal with.

Cons: The flight was delayed by almost 4 hours from Hong Kong. There are elaborate security check at the last minute. Not even sure if it was just to kill the time. Because the departure time kept moving to later and later time.

Pros: Cathay Pacific takes great care of you. The food is good (for airline food anyway), the staff is helpful, and there is a pretty good selection of free movies. I would definitely fly with them again.

Cons: The missed flight to SFO was replaced by another flight to LAX next day and then from LAX to SFO via United as domestic flight. This is horrible experience since we had to check out all luggages, go through custom and then check in the bags again with all weighing problems. The worse is that to go from International terminal to United domestic counter, we had to pull the luggages along the curb from one end of the airport to the other side of it. We will never take this option again

Cons: Process needs inprovement. Had to wait 1 hour for my bag at SFO. 2/3 of bags showed up within 15 min. Nobody seemed to know what's going on. Business class was relatively empty, yet the airline did not make any offer for upgrade to business, at flight time. So many other airlines do it the days. Food average at best. Prefer more quality food, even if i have to pay extra

Cons: My family traveled with my 80 year old dad but Hong Kong ground crew would not allow us to board together. My wife & I had to carry all our carry on baggage since my mom was the only one allowed to board with him. All three previous flights the ground crew allowed all of us to stay as a family.

Pros: Best meal service ever, my husband never eats airplane food but gobbled up the dinner and the breakfast served. Seats were comfortable, beverages were readily available, one of the best airlines in the world.
Cons: Didn't have slippers, only socks. Slightly inconvenient having to put shoes back on to run to the restroom, which sometimes have wetness from God knows what.

Cons: Sometimes crewmembers were a little over rushed, skipping people for drinks and such, and not being particularly gracious when asked to back track (this didn't happen to me, but I witnessed it happening to others (East Indians, actually)). Economy is really cramped and awful for international flights. I wish I could afford better, but the step up in cost is beyond my budget. The food on this particular flight didn't seem as well prepared or presented as usual, but it was still ample serving and tasty enough.

Cons: For the second time I traveled with Air Canada there was a 4 hour delay in Toronto. I will not be traveling with Air Canada ever again

Cons: The flight was delayed by an hour and then once up in the air, passengers were told the food cart didn't make it the 6 hour flight so no food or snacks for the entire flight from Montreal to San Francisco.

Pros: Entertainment. GoGo did not want to work for me at 1 he before arrival.
Cons: Give me a coupon for food before takeoff or on arrival. Skip the CupofNoodles. After Japan and Shanghai, cup of noodles seem really in bad taste.

Cons: Total commotion at gate. Two flights jammed into one small gate area. Rep was surly and embarrased many who were confused in the commotion and ynclear communication from the boarding agent. Tv didnt work for 4 hrs.

Cons: Air Canada flights are always delayed. The crew is rude and usually not helpful when asking for something. In addition, when I bought the ticket I was asked if I spoke English because I was sitting in the exit row; however, the couple sitting next to me obviously did not speak and they let them stay there anyways.

Cons: We were already running late when during take off, one of the engines malfunctioned and we had to emergency break on the runway and go back to the gate. Because it was unexpected, we had to wait even longer for a gate to become available. We then had to re go through customs and get our bags then wait in line again at the counter to schedule our flight for the next day. Thankfully we were given a hotel room and money for food. Very scary experience overall on the runway, but they tried to handle it as smoothly as possible under the unusual circumstances.

Cons: Instructions on Air Canada's website when you Google "how early should you get to the airport flying Canada to USA" say you should get there 3 hours ahead of time. For a 6:40 flight I got to the airport at 3:40, as instructed, and checkin wasn't even open. Per Air Canada's website "You should arrive at the airport three (3) hours before your flight's scheduled departure time. Pre-board security screening for departures to the U.S. opens at 3:00 AM. Exception: 20 minutes for flights departing from Toronto City Airport (YTZ)." Check in staff told me I should have gotten there 2 hours ahead. This is very conflicting. Considering I was heading to a 10 hour trade show, believe me that hour of sleep I lost between 2:30 when I had to get up for this flight and 3:30 when I could have gotten up sure was missed. Correct and consistent instructions to passengers go a long way.

Pros: I had a medical incident and air Canada moved me to a more comfortable seat and gave me oxygen to help me recover. Also the stuardesses all were really nice and made it their priority to make sure I was doing OK through the rest of the flight
Cons: There was no designated person as a medical professional to handle emergency situations. an emergency situation can occur anytime. luckily there was a passenger aboard who knew what to do I think his name was Dave you should give him thanks.

Cons: The 6 1/2 hour flight from Montréal CANADA to San Francisco, CA USA, is considered a "shared border flight," which means 1) you pay $25 for your first checked bag, $35 for the next, and $100 for subsequent bags. The food is horrible and the type you'd expect on a puddle jumper from NY to Boston. Clearly Air Canada executives are aware that Canada and the US are separate countries. This is just an attempt to gouge the consumer. Unfortunately Air Canada is the only Airline I can fly out of Montreal so I'm stuck with them. : (

Pros: The flight from YVR to SFO was good, but the flight from SFO to YVR was horrible. So I'm giving you an average score from both flights. Note: both flights were booked through Air Canada but were operated by United.

There was NO communication regarding what terminal the flight left from and I almost missed my flight because the board said international but that was incorrect. Many people did miss their flights and everyone was MAD. I was re-booked on a later flight but fortunately I made the original flight because I happened to be walking by the gate when they called for final boarding. My seat was at the very back of the plane next to the bathrooms. When the flight took off a funnel of water poured down my back from the baggage bins above. My entire back, pants and underwear got soaked. It was disgusting. The stewardess said it was most likely water from condensation/air conditioner and offered me some paper towels. I moved to the aisle seat. Thank goodness it was open, because when we landed a ton more water poured on to my old empty seat. Once again the stewardesses didn't think it was a big deal. I feel badly for whomever sat in that back seat the next flight out. I'm sure they got soaked too. The stewardesses could not have cared less. I'm sure they didn't bother to report it.

Pros: Excellent and diverse film selection. I broadened my horizons watching documentaries on hacking, gun running, and on an Afghan refugee teen in Iran, a film about a black American teen in Germany, and a French drama.
Cons: Most of the time economy class is uncomfortable because of the lack of foot room. So this time, for the long flight from China, I chose an exit row precisely for the extra leg space. However, there is no footrest at all , which as you're surely aware, is terribly uncomfortable when sitting for long periods, let along trying to sleep. Furthermore, the exit row seats are not provided a substitute for missing the usual back-of-the-seat pocket with magazines ; that means no spot to place books/papers/trash for the entire flight. Finally, I am 5'2 and petite, and was seated between two fairly slim men, and yet we were still all squeezed side to side. I had no elbow rest. I actually rested my head on one man's shoulder, once he was asleep, and hope he didn't notice. While this is unfortunately typical of economy class, it is not decent.

Pros: I liked that is an all business carrier, the steward was personable and totally on charged. For a short flight it was excellent !!

Pros: This plane had entertainment on each seat and seats were more comfortable than other airlines.
Cons: The plane was full and was running out of over head storage for people sitting toward the back and people already seated were being very rude about us slightly moving their bags to try to fit in ours. Some angry Spaniards were litterslly shouting at us for us moving their luggage a few inches at best! No help from the plane crew on this matter. They should really arrange boarding from both ends.

Cons: On the way back from Quebec City to Montreal we were asked to check our carry-ons as luggage, because "there is no room' on the plane. It was an empty flight. ALL overhead compartments were empty. Both flights - Quebec to Montreal and Montreal San Francisco were late. As the result, we have to spend 1.5 hours in the baggage claim area, because "there are no baggage agents in SFO available". THAT WAS THE WHOLE REASON WE ONLY HAD CARRY-ONS! By far, one of the worst flight experience in the last 10 year.

Pros: Size of plane allowing for aisle seating.
Cons: Delay with boarding for about hour without a good explanation. All monitors in airport shows plane on time when it actually was not. Boarding process also took a bit of time perhaps due to many elderly on the flight. Seating was also confusing as the middle seats did not correspond with aisle seating. This caused delays as passengers had to figure out where they were sitting. Checked in luggage at gate since flight was full and we were asked to volunteer to check-in luggage. At baggage claim, bag delay to retrieve luggage after already hour delay in departure. Bags was not labeled or categorized correctly causing an extra half hour delay to claim bags.

Cons: Air Canada shares a trait with many other incompetent organizers: everything is fine if nothing goes wrong, but there are no contingency plans in place in case something goes wrong. So, things get more and more delayed. Can't you predict roughly when the plane is going to land (once it is in the air!) and arrange for some gate to be open, so that we don't have to sit on the ground for 45 minutes once it has landed, for example? People who know how to organize are ordinarily capable of doing that. Furthermore, the lack of transparency is really frustrating: we just sit on the tarmac with no indication of how long we're going to be there, and the estimates of the delays are completely wrong when we're given them.

Cons: Coach seating on the 777 is tight for anyone with long legs over 6 feet tall.

Cons: Flights delayed both there and back, with no advance warning and no reason given. Online & airport signage said flight "on time" the whole time. Asked Air Canada Customer Service desk in Toronto to change signage to accurate time, they were SUPER snooty and treated me like an idiot. Signage did not change, my husband came to airport "on time" to pick me up and then had to sit there 1-1/2 hours. They are inconsiderate jerks.

Cons: The check-in counter in DCA was AWFUL with only two people running and no kiosks working. They were rude and didn't listen to us either. When we got to the food part, it was disguisting. First of all, I am vegetarian but even if I ate meat, I wouldnt have eaten it. So I just ate bread for the 13 hour flight. Besides one flight attendant, the rest were rude, harsh and had a generally bad attitude. AIr Canada has BY FAR been the worst travel experience for me thus far. I guess you get what you pay for.

Cons: There was 1 crew member who once spilled ice over me & laughed it off saying he was just checking to see if I"m awake. Then another time spilled OJ on me & didn't even notice or apologize or offer a napkin so I can clean myself off. Also I had wanted to upgrade my seat for this flight but was unable to because there was no representative at the huge airport in Shanghai. Nor could I do it online. That was a huge inconvenience!

Pros: We arrived on time and safely.
Cons: The boarding process was a mess. This is due more to the Toronto airport than Air Canada. Passengers standing in front of the entrance to the gate made cueing up to enter when your zone was called impossible. Drinks were offered only twice on the 5 hour flight. Bathrooms were filthy.

Cons: if i knew the name of the man i talked to at checkin i would make a complaint specifically about him. i lost my passport a few days before coming home and went to the united states consulate where they told me to bring a printed copy of my passport and the united states boarding patrol would let me back into the united states. the man at the checkin didn't want to let me through to even speak to the united states border patrol and told me the consulate was wrong. i almost missed my flight because of his stubborn arrogance. once past him i was able to explain what happened and show what identification I had and everyone was very nice to me.

One thing I can say for America, they do not mess around.....they fix problems....your team sucked leaving Toronto Barcelona two weeks ago and then you suck leaving Toronto to SFO. Please understand, folks have flight connections and the number one thing then need from you, instead of water is information on whether their flight will be waiting for them!!!

Cons: We didn't like having to pay for carry on luggage. When we left SFO and flew to Montreal, if your bag was 21 inches, not 20 they checked it for free. Traveling back to SFO the counter person made us pay to check a bag, even though we knew if we went to the gate, they would take it. This was not good or consistent. We will not fly on Air Canada

Cons: We were delayed 95 minutes due to repairs. Consequently when we arrived in San Francisco we had to sit on the tarmack for 15 minutes waiting for a gate to open up.

Cons: service is poor. have been on both economy and busines class in air canada and you are treated very differently. the staff on economy treat you indifferently and have a little chip of their shoulder. the food is awful and most flights you have to pay for food, even for international flights, which is apparently against the law as they are obligated to serving food. i had to pay for a bowl of noodles - omg. essentially it is really about service. Dismal. It is noted they often win north american awards for their service. If anyone has flown american airlines - yes it may be the best of the worst. So if you have an option, skip it altogether. Try Cathay / Qatar / Singapore airlines wow!

Cons: The crew was very pleasant and helpful. However it was unexpected that no food would be provided on a 5 hour flight. If not a small meal then a snack was expected. The crew did provide water consistently which was very nice. My personal entertainment screen was very unresponsive and then the head phone jack wasn't working for sound, I had to hold it at a certain angle to hear bits of sound. Since the head phone jack was located at my thigh it was very uncomfortable and when I shifted I broke my headphones :(

Cons: Air cananda made me go crazy... They didn't prepared anything after I missed my flight. Because of immigration. They just said to me that was not their fault. But you know, I arrived at air port 5am. My flight time was 8am. I asked aircanada clerks to get into gate quckily. But they had me wait for a long time, and they said everybody was waiting, so that's not problem. But when I got into gate at 8:45, My plane already had gone. And I went to Air canada service center, I had argued for 5hours... because they just prepared my flight from Toronto to San Francisco. They didn't care about Connected air plane was Asiana. So I Had to call three company.. Asiana, Kayak, air canada... that was horrible time. Air canada didn't want to have responsibility about missing air plane. That's why I had to contact with Asiana...the first time Asiana didn't want to prepare air plane for free... I had to try to explain my situation and problem three times.... Finally I got a ticket for free from Asiana. I could departure at 9pm from Toronto. I stayed in Pearson air port for 15hours... because of Air canada's GOOD!! customer service v^^v..... I will never use Air canada !!

Pros: On both legs of our flight to and from O'Hare to China, we had delays. The first was due to an ice storm in Toronto, where we changed planes, then the second due to compromised air space over the China Sea that Air Canada wisely chose to delay our flight rather than take a risk. The delays were handled professionally and pleasantly. It wasn't their fault. The agents and flight attendants were very attentive in trying to help us get our connecting flights, such as switching us to the front of the plane before landing so we could get off quickly. Alas, it didn't work, but they tried. Our checked bags came off quickly. I felt that we had more legroom on our AC flights than I have had recently on American aircrafts. Temperature was comfortable. We were regularly given water, drinks, and we had complementary meals with beer or wine. Food was pretty average, but the beverages were good. I would definitely fly with them again.
