Delayed all the time.. and the stressed that this airline put me thru.. i didnt get my luggage until a week after i already arrived.. and no compensation for that!. I do not have any clothes and underwear to wear for 6 days!
Food and entertainment we're solid. Creature comforts we're solid for economy international (toothbrush, blanket, socks, and sleep mask.)
Never got an e-ticket until the night before outbound flight. Combined with the airline's outsourced customer service, lack of record keeping, and mediocre customer service skills on both sides of the Pacific, boarding was a traumatic experience. Never booking another international flight through Kayak, nor flying Hong Kong Airlines again. Domestic may not be totally out though.
Overweight person next to me kept coming into my seat space. Impossible to sleep well with a stranger bumping into me frequently. I had the window seat.
The people were truly friendly very helpful if you needed help

Who the heck decided to put shoulder strap seat belts into the planes???? Major fail. These are highly uncomfortable and a stupid addition. I can’t imagine you have the data to support this addition being meaningful. Fail! Fail! Fail!!!!!

It's a budget flight so can't expect much, yet the aircraft was small very cold and not comfortable for such long-over-ocean-international flight.
The China Southern People in Penang, including the MAB staff that assist, are outstanding. The flight attendants are also wonderful. I am also pleased with the timing of the added flights to and from Penang. The timing is wonderful for my flights to the US. They have become seamless.
Planes are newer and clean. Seats are okay. The IFE system is great!
The food is below standard. For a globally resurgent airline, CZ should focus on serving international cuisines for the global population it is now serving.
Delayed departure and delayed arrival. Landed at a different airport first (due to a storm?) and missed our connecting flight.

First experience with Singapore where the crew made a negative impression. As soon as the plane pulled away from the terminal, crew members seemed rushed and frantic, literally running back and forth from Economy Premium to the galley gathering items. Approximately every 7-10 minutes, crew members would be running back and forth next to my seat with heavy foot steps, which would wake me up. I also noticed that certain crew members were shouting at passengers to get their attention instead of lowering themselves to be heard. One flight attendant almost spilled orange juice on me because she turned around too fast trying to serve drinks. I'm not sure if they were short-staffed, or if it was the influence of a certain crew boss, but something was definitely wrong.

The seat smells like it was not clean. They did not serve snack between lunch and dinner. You need to get it at their station. We were really thirsty and a bit hungry...

Very limited English movie selections for such a long flight. Could not turn Chinese subtitles off for some. Very distracting. Seats in economy (according to online comparisons) are some of the best in the industry but I felt extremely cramped and uncomfortable for the entire flight. Long haul flights should not have seats this small. Also, for health reasons, all seats should have foot rests. It shouldn't be about money, people can die from sitting like that for so long. Also, the food that I could eat was good, but there should be a no fish option. You have a lot of diet types available to choose from but none guarantee no fish. The process for requesting a special meal online was not clear and confusing.
I liked playing tetris and pacman with a controller that was like that of a console. My flight had a lot of empty seats, and I noticed they staggered the seating so that there was nobody in front of me or behind me. Flight crew was genuinely nice and helpful even though we didn't speak the same language. The little cup holder was actually pretty cool. There even seemed to be ample leg room compared to other Chinese international flights I've been on. I've flown previously with china southern and China eastern, so that is my basis for comparison.
They didn't give me boarding passes for both flights (had a long layover in china). Other airlines printed both at the start of trip. This added quite a bit of confusion for me, seemingly unnecessarily. Also, I'm a bit disappointed in their free hotel room deal for long layovers. When I had a long layover previously with either china southern or china easter (can't remember which one), I got my own free hotel room, a free meal, and a free ride to and from the hotel. That was a real perk for my 12 hour layover. The deal with xiaman is you get a free hotel room, but you have to share it with a stranger of the same gender, and you have to pay for taxi to and from the hotel. Although you do supposedly get a free meal, I chose not to take them up on the hotel offer. Instead I took them up on their transfers lounge. This is a dark, quiet room full of dingy, dirty padded chairs and people sprawled out and snoring. I would have stayed more than 15 minutes if there were more phone charging plugs, but instead I went and ate mcdonalds and found a plug in at the kfc. Aside from all that, I would suggest getting some better Hollywood movies to choose from, as xiamen's competition has them beat there as well, in my opinion.
The flight left before we get there. I had to book a train ticket to my final destination because I have to be in Fuzhou that day. I was told by the airline that I would be reimbursed the air fare from Xiamen to Fuzhou.
Xiamen reps at KUL didn’t let me board because they said my middle name on boarding pass didn’t match with the name on Chinese transit visa. I got this Chinese transit visa just to transfer because of the airport layout and that part was also didn’t make sense. They didn’t accept my middle “Y” on the boarding pass and it was so much of hassle to argue and finally let me through. Will never fly again on Xiamen.

to have transfer personalized service was an excellent service and great relief, because I didn't known the airport, had to pick luggages, then change terminal and check in again. the person walked along with me, all the way. she was kind, caring, and helpful.

Excellent crew, clear announcements in both English and Chinese, decent food and entertainment.
Hectic boarding process that required taking a bus and everyone pushing and shoving to board the plane in no particular order. Stayed on the tarmac for 2 hours before taking off and did not recieve frequent updates. When the seat in front of you is fully reclined you have essentially zero space.

There was nothing worth liking . Plane was dirty in side . Tray tables were broken. Used pillows without hygiene sealed bags. Toilets were missing basic supplies.
Crew was aggressive and impolite even with senior citizens . There is no point in speaking English with senior citizen of Asian decent. Making faces and giggling among themselves with a sarcasm.

Airlines staff took my complaint seriously and found the bag at Hongkong airport. Later the bag was brought to SFO and delivered at my temporary stay. Very good job done.
On arrival on 10th Sep at SFO, I found one of my checked-in baggages was missing. This made me bit worried. I made a complaint to airlines staff there. Some inconveniences caused since I kept my needed cloths in that bag.
on-plane service is good
back-office support is very poor. for example their online flight info system is faulty, they cannot figure out the date the plane arrives! mo kidding.
Crew was kind & do their job well ensuring passengers are taken care of. Food was very good.
Takeoff delay in Cebu. Moved from one gate to another to accommodate another airline thus making our departure an hour late.

I've flown to Korea many times and this was the most turbulence I've ever had. The choice of moves wasn't good.
It was cancelled. There was no proactive communication from Kayak or Asiana about the situation. We had to cancel and rebook ourselves.

The gluten-free dinner was amazing. There was even gluten-free bread! Also, I always appreciate the free Wifi for messaging!! Also, despite there being a lot of turbulence, everyone did well. I prayed for safety and for the pilots and crew; the turbulence stopped after that and our arrival wasn't all that delayed.
The gluten-free breakfast was extremely disappointing. Yogurt, a tiny cup of fruit, and veggie sticks??? What about a gluten-free English muffin with egg instead? The boarding was a little confusing. I was one of the last to board in my group because I couldn't see from where I was sitting - I thought priority was still boarding, but group 2 was already up. Also, please be more kind to baggage.
Seating was ok but had better for a premium coach.

787 Airplane is nice, very modern. Early Departure Early Arrival. Very smooth Flight. In Flight Entertainment system was great.
There was hardly any food and no offering of coffee or variety of beverages on this International 10+ hour flight. Seats were small and not very comfortable. On arrival nobody seemed to know which terminal exit family should meet us at, and LAX "information" said they know nothing about what AA does. Unfortunately LAX is just a terrible airport for arrival or departures. But AA needs to show more clearly where family should wait to pick up arriving internal passengers.
The plane landed on time.
Beverage are limited, one of the crews was loud, the food was terrible. I made a reservation through japan airlines. If they do a codeshare, they should give the passengers equal advice.

The fact that my father was diagnosed with Cancer and they wouldn’t refund our 1300.00 for round trip tickets to the Philippines which is our vacation home. The airline required documentation from my fathers doc which I provided. He was not going anywhere for at least a year (radiation and chemo) and the denied even credit.I was able to get my parents tickets refunded by a different airline. NEVER Again. my father passed 8/12/2018. Our trip was scheduled for 9/13/2018. Very disappointing.see
Air condition was not cooling and all was hot for aprox. 5 hours then became 40% better

They don’t offer meals for people who aren’t beef or pork eaters . Although they had a fish meal the breakfast did not have that option.

They used a more modern plane for the longer haul part of our two flights home from Bali and appreciated the slightly bigger seats for the longer flight. Good inflight entertainment options.
The staff was friendly for a very late and very long flight
Almost 70% of the plain was stuffed into economy seating while 60% of the economy plus was empty and much more spacious. I feel like optional upgrades should be announced when this is the case, especially for a 16 hour flight

Since I had no check-in luggage on my way to Manila from Los Angeles, my medicine bag was packed in my carry-on with wheels. When, in Manila, I was forced to check-in that piece of luggage, I forgot to move my medication into my backpack which I carried with me on board. In Taipei, I asked the ground crew to retrieve my medication from my check-in carry-on. The team worked diligently and made sure that my medication was handed to me as I was one boarding the plane with the last few. I was delighted by the level of service and the fact that I was able to take my medication before the flight took off. What a difference in attitude between the Manila and Taipei ground crews. Thank you Taipei ground crew!

The flight attendants are attentive and know how to anticipate your needs. I used to travel from New York to Korea then the Philippines, and I choose to fly Korean Air. In my opinion, their service crew improved a lot Including their food.
Everything, the crew was outstanding. I haven't flew with all airlines but Koren Air was so good that I don't want to fly with any other airline, all ways Koren Air from here on out.
The second meal wasn't the greatest but I think it was me not the food.
