The staff at the airport were kind and helpful during both pick-up and drop-off, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn’t go as smoothly. I wasn’t given any paperwork at pick-up, which became a problem when I ran into an issue with the car. The trunk wouldn’t close, and I didn’t have a phone number to call for help. I ended up having to stop at a gas station and pay out of pocket for assistance, which delayed my plans since I couldn’t safely drive with the trunk open. I then called customer service and spent about an hour explaining the situation. I was told everything was documented and that I would receive a credit. However, when I followed up on later days, I was told there were no notes from that call and no credit had been applied. I had to call several times and kept getting different answers, which was frustrating. To add to that, I received an email saying I could return the car at either 12 PM or 3 PM without any extra charge, but I was still charged anyway. I called several times about extending the lease. Due to renting through a 3rd party , I encountered a lot of wasted time. I had one agent who stopped talking to me because she couldn't understand what I needed. She literally stopped talking and sat on the phone. I rented through Kayak which I won't do again. Overall, while the in-person staff were great, the lack of communication and follow-through made this a really frustrating experience. The process for checking in, picking up and dropping off was really easy. When we drove the vehicle into the underground, there were already atrendants waving us down to park the vehicle. It was great as we were directed without having to waste time on looking for a drop-off area. We love the shuttle service to and from IAH. It saves so much time when you don't have to look for parking or look for the correct terminal to enter into.Reviewed Apr 2 2024
