Pros:The rate was very competitive. That is about all.Cons:The Payless counter was closed at the IAH rental car center and they were directing Payless customers to the AVIS desk (This, mind you, was the Thursday before the Easter holiday). It took 45 minutes to an hour to get to a customer service rep. Then, they were out of the size car we ordered so they upgraded us to a small SUV. Which we thought would be good until we got in and it smelled like cigarette smoke. Not a great experience.Reviewed Apr 5 2021

Cons:No one was there with no advanced warning. Sign pointed to Budget. No one was there, so we went to Avis where the woman hated her jobs she literally did not smile one time. When we had questions, she just pointed to signs.Reviewed Aug 31 2020

Pros:The pickup counter staff was very friendly and was trying to help us find the best deal which was most appreciated. But when I asked about getting a car that had Apple play in it she spent over 1/2 hour talking with others and looking for a car. Once she found me, as I was signing the paperwork she said, and you’re ok with paying $5 more per day, right? Well, no I absolutely was not. It then took another 10 minutes or so for her to get a different car, which as it turned out had Apple play in it. That car unfortunately had a distinct cigarette smoke odor but having spent so much time at the counter, I didn’t go back in to complain. And then the mayhem of the corona virus hit the country and we decided to return home early and to return the car to a different location than originally planned. I was appalled to learn we would be charged $75 for the change fee. I was not happy about that and will never use Payless again.Cons:See above comments as I put everything in there.Reviewed Mar 21 2020
