This was the worst experience I’ve had with Budget ever, at any location. 1. It was very important that I have a large SUV and they did not have the size of vehicle I requested available. 2. I was passed back and forth between an employee and a manager with little communication as to why. It was very confusing and time-consuming. 3. Although I’ve been a long time Budget customer, my information was re-input into the computer (taking even more time) . I’m also a FastPass member. 4. It sounds like there’s a disconnect between customer reservations and car availability at locations. THERE SHOULDN’T BE.Reviewed May 15 2026

I’ve never rented from Budget before, and as a business traveler, I was a bit disappointed. I rented a mid to small sized SUV, and was given a Ford Bronco Sport. The vehicle had some slight wear and tear as it had almost 56,000 miles on it and it was not very clean. I did not notice the dirty dash until I drove out of the rental garage. I would think a car with that high of mileage would not still be in service but apparently they must not have any lower mileage vehicles, or they are reserved for Budget rental car regulars. This rental certainly did not win me over. Needless to say, not sure if I might rent from Budget or refer them to anyone, anytime soon. Please do better next time.Reviewed Apr 30 2026

First off I scheduled my intermediate SUV for 12 noon which was when my flight was coming into Richmond Airport , upon arrival to Budget counter there was no vehicles available at the time that was requested, we had to wait 2 hours and did not get a SUV instead we got a Small Toyota Corolla which had a strong odor of marijuana but took it anyways as we had a wedding to attend. Was told by the manager a 20 something young gentleman that because of our wait we could bring the car back without filling up with gas , we were charged over $80 to fill up the vehicle even after manager said he would put a note in the computer. Talked to customer no service for a hour with a call center overseas and tried to get a US based customer service which I would assume now that they do not have one . Customer service said they would give me back $40 for my inconvenience, really that was an insult . I am not happy with Budget rental car whatsoeverReviewed Apr 13 2026

We were provided what should have been a nice SUV, but once we spent a little time behind the wheel, it was apparent that the truck had serious transmission slipping. Every gear change felt like the whole engine might fall out of the vehicle. Our pickup was Christmas Eve, so we returned the truck on Christmas Day and we were told there were no other large vehicles available. We were then told we couldn't get a refund at the counter and that we would need to call the main number. We did that and filed a case and requested a refund and we were only given back half of our fee. I filed another case and asked for the rest of the money and haven't gotten a response after 5 days. I had made a reservation and had a budget confirmation number. When I arrived at the desk to pick up my car, the clerk said that budget does not honor reservations made the same day, because they have to prioritize other customers. I had an hour and 15 minute drive ahead of me to a town where my high school friends funeral was occurring the next day, and it was too late for any other options.Reviewed Jun 2 2025

Had a reservation for a car. After an hour in line they said they didn’t have a car for me. It was midnight and there were no other vehicles at other rental car facilities. Had to spend 3x the money on Uber.Reviewed May 16 2025
