1st of all, dollar was not even open and we had to check out with Hertz. Secondly, they didn't have the kind of car that I reserved, so I ended up paying an extra $100, plus fees which came to an additional $200 above what I had already paid and reserved. Thirdly, the car was in need of servicing, and they said they didn't have another car to give me so I had to drive it around with the oil light flashing on the entire time. Because of this, we did not feel safe going to Shenandoah Park, which was supposed to be a major part of our trip. I will never rent from Dollar again.Reviewed May 4 2023

They gave me a car that had broken down the day before, without properly fixing it. So I experienced transmission problems while on a bridge with no where to pull over, which put us in danger. The only reason I know that the car had previous transmission problems because we somehow got assigned the same tow truck driver who recognized the vehicle from the day before. Dollar was seriously negligent. I will never be renting from Dollar or their parent company Hertz ever again because I cannot support a company who willfully puts their customers in danger.Reviewed Aug 6 2022

I had family Covid and tried to rebook for May. Nonfundable. Not reschedule-able. Won’t be back. I am trying to reschedule for May but that was not an option. Got in to Richmond about 9:00 pm. Dollar was closed, went to Hertz affiliate. Three ahead of us, one guy working. Took 20 minutes to get the LAST car they had. Car was OK but no one told us it had an EX Pass transponder for the toll roads. We had no change , blew through a toll gate. Dtilll waiting for the bill.Reviewed Sep 16 2021
