When I rented the car at like 2 am, I needed a large SUV to transport 6 teenagers across the state to a dance competition. Unbeknownst to my when I started to drive away the check engine light went on. I called budget they told me that if I didn’t feel safe that I couldn’t return it. Well now I was really late. They said the car should be fine and so I went on. The next today the car was driving like it was off alignment. I didn’t have time to switch cars nor drive all the way 1.25 hrs away to the nearest budget to get. A new rental. They didn’t offer any compensation except that I could switch the car out, which I had to pay for the gas there to switch it out and it took me over 4 hours with driving to get there switch it out and they made me fill up the tank again for my gas to get back to my location. I just think it is completely unprofessional to not offer road side assistance and specially when they knew that I had 6 teenagers that I was transporting and responsible for.Reviewed Jan 5 2026

Budget SeaTac had NO CARS, even though the reservation had been made. QEEQ had to refund me. All in all it was a terrible experience and it threatens kayak's reputation for you to continue to work with them.Reviewed Dec 28 2025

No instructions on how to read EV dash and what charging stations are compatible. I never planned to charge car as it was a very short term rental. When car battery died (not the one that runs car but smaller one) I called their automated roadside assistance number and was caught in non helpful time sucking loop. Got an apathetic human by calling another number who just transferred me back to the automated system. The process sucked up an hour. Ultimately I called AAA and missed my flight.Reviewed Aug 22 2025

Getting to the car rental facility at the Seattle airport was easy and straightforward. There was no line and no wait to see a customer service representative at the Budget counter. The rep was very friendly and professional, and even managed to upsell me on a larger vehicle than what I had originally reserved (partly because I was exhausted from a long trip and didn’t feel like haggling). Where I wish my experience had been better, though, is that she could have been more forthcoming with certain features of the upgrade that mattered, like the fact that there were no USB outlets anywhere in the vehicle, only USB-C. This meant that for my entire five hour drive, I was unable to charge my phone while using my navigation app (The vehicle’s gps navigation was unavailable for use as part of my rental agreement), and my battery almost died before I arrived at my destination.Reviewed Apr 4 2025
