It was the worst rental we have ever experienced. The vehicle was filthy (human and animal hair and it does not appear to have been washed on the outside either). The guy said there was not another car and they had a new person 'cleaning'. The key battery was dead and he told me they had replaced it and it would take a bit to re-set. Then I drove away and the oil change light came on. We went to another nearby Hertz location and did get the service we should have from the beginning. The downtown Cincinnati location should not even be in business.

Hertz in Cincinnati was great! Hertz in Chattanooga where I returned the vehicle was terrible. The lock box to return the key after hours was just completely open and anyone could have taken the keys. The gate to the parking lot was locked, and they were closed earlier than their posted hours online. I found a worker and was able to return my key to them, but they failed to document that it was returned and over a week later I still have the hold and additional charges being charged to my account and Hertz Corporate is having to contact them to confirm since they failed to close out the transaction properly.

The General Manager of the CVG Hertz office SAVED this rental. If she had not stepped in to fix the problem, this answer would have been a total zero. I wish I would have gotten her name so I could send her a Thank You note.

We searched for a pick up and drop off time that would work for our trip, but this location ended up being closed during both times, so we got charged extra for early pick up and late drop off

We didn't realize when we booked that the location would be closed when we returned the vehicle. It would have been nice if they had explained how to return the car because it was rather confusing how to do that. But I guess we got it figured out because our bill came and it was what we expected.

The only negative was that the vehicle wasn’t ready until 2 hours after our noon pick up time. But to make up for the delay we were given a free upgrade. Otherwise a great rental experience.

Drop- off at airport was quick and easy.DISHONEST HERTZ HAS LOST A CUSTOMER! BEWARE UNMENTIONED FEES! Hertz was completely out of rental cars at the ariport in Kentucky, so I booked a rental in downtown Cincinnati on 601 Elm St, Cincinnati, OH 45202. We took an Uber from the airport to the car rental in the city. Our exprience picking up the car was pleasant. We told the employee about lack of cars at the airport he shrugs and says: "You can take the car back to the airport if you want to." "Really?! That would be amazing!" "Yeah! No problem!" So we drop off the car at the airport after our trip. The next day I'm emailed a receipt with an added 100.00 "inter city fee." (Which they charged to my card I used to make the deposit.) I don't know what it is, so I call Hertz on Elm. All the manager says is "there is nothing I can do about it." He was very short and rude, I ask to speak to a manager and he says "I am the manager." I still don't know what the fee is.... So I ask for the number for corporate. Corporate explained the fee was for dropping the car at the airport. If I was told I would be charged $100.00...I would have never dropped car off at the airport. They told me they had no record of me dropping the car at the airport in the contract, and would not refund the money. I looked up Hertz and discovered MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS OF DISHONESTY along with CLASS ACTION LAW SUITS. Some with similar complaints of extra, untold, hidden fees. Corporate said they would contact the rental company at Elm and get back to me within 24 hours. They never called me back. $100.00 gone. NEVER AGAIN! LESSON LEARNED!

The entire experience with Hertz was awful. We didn't receive the minivan that we ordered, so they "upgraded" us to an SUV which didn't have near the room we needed. The battery in the key fab for the SUV needed to be replaced on day 2 of our 11 day rental. I called inquiring the process for getting the key fab replaced/new battery and was on hold for almost 2 hours for someone to tell me that I needed to go buy my own batter. They also added an additional $135 to the bill, which hasn't been explained to me yet. I will never rent from Hertz again. Worst car rental experience I have ever had.
