Baymont Inn is a decent location just off the main drag which was nice as it was away from the majority of the noise and nightlife. The room was clean and had a fireplace and a patio. Everything in the room was spacious except for the bathroom. Breakfast was good and they kept it stocked throughout. All rooms are accessed from the outside (no internal hallways). You don't have to go into the lobby to gain access to the stairs up to the room. The pool was warm however, it was over chlorinated like most hotel pools. Bathroom was very small and I could tell the place was slowly being updated. I think that the price for this hotel was a lot more than it should have been. This hotel would fit most people's needs its not the best nor the worst.
Balcony on the river, comfortable beds, indoor pool, fire pit traffic noise
It's got a beautiful view of the water
Very nice place and convenient to Gatlinburg and all attractions. Free breakfast was good. Kids enjoyed the indoor pool. We will stay here again. It was a little hard at times to get in and out with all the traffic
We enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The room was great. Staff was very pleasant. We couldn't have asked for a better location. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family. N/A
Staff was super friendly, breakfast every morning in the lobby was more than expected, and river views from room are amazing. About two blocks from town, shops and dining. There is a trolly right outside hotel if you don't/can't walk a lot. The stream sounds were fantastic! When walking into the room for the first time it was damp. We turned the fan in the bathroom on and opened the balcony door for a bit to let it air out. It never really seemed to 'dry out' in the room. That's okay, there was so much to do in and around town, we mostly slept there. You can hear traffic from parkway in the room.
I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Its literally by the water front, the room has an incredible view of the mountains and the local hotels are neat and the town is very tourist friendly, there are local trolleys to help you get around. It's beautiful and full of cute shops, definately worth exploring.
Beds are heavenly. No bad comments
Staff was friendly and fantastic. I liked the location. Carpets need replaced and the room was a little dated but over all a very good experience
Good location, nice views Rooms looking run-down, bathtub has been painted. $170 non-refundable pet charge is ridiculous for a 2 night stay.
Great place to stay for biz, fam, quiet get away or even younger groups for folks. Several buildings on property and they grouped everyone well. Kayak by far had the best rate! I usually use Booking but they weren't the lowest this time. The others didn't even have availability listed. The pool was shut down due to repairs, but it just looked temporary. Also, the Drafts sports bar on the property had weird hours and just kinda strange folks working there.
Location was good ,priced ok, Breakfast plain oatmeal ,zero fruit, worst I have seen ,usually have eggs and more choices
Location is great, just a block away from the strip. Walking distance to everything. Sheets and towels were clean. Extremely outdated. I'm sure this hotel was very nice in 1980 but not much has changed since then. TV is the only update. Place looks dirty just from years and years of use. The room smelled like a dead animal. Smell was coming from the refrigerator. We only stayed two nights so we just toughed it out. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
We liked that it was so close to everything because we liked to walk. we really loved the ducks but couldn't figure out what happened to the baby ducks disappearing everyday The parking garage was way to tight. We could barely squeeze in there. then on the outside parking we found a spot but someone decided to take over both spots
This place is right next to the aquarium and right in town in Gatlinburg so it's an easy walk to everything. You do get a fairly good view either of the water or an overview of the city. The rooms are a bit outdated. My coffee wasn't replenished everyday
We needed extra linen for my mother-in-law. She caked to the front desk for some and am employee arrived with some within 5 minutes of her hanging up. Check-in isn't until 4 and check out is at 10. I have checked into a lot of hotels before and they've been busy at times, but the wait to check in here was unbelievable. I think it took about 15-20 minutes to finally get to the desk and walk out with keys. We had the pleasure of leaving just before 10 and noticed the housekeeping didn't have any new linen on their carts. Maybe there is a separate one that comes through but we were under the assumption that the sheets aren't changed after each stay.
We liked the location. It was within walking distance to almost everything. Loved to restaurant and the outdoor eating by the river. Service was poor but the atmosphere was worth it. Room was clean and spacious. Great view of the mountains. I would return again even though the pool was a disappointment. The pool was so dirty that we couldn't even swim in it. My granddaughter threw a swim stick in and we couldn't even find it. At night when the pool lights were shining, you could see bits of white floating all over.
Nice Location Quiet Pretty view Value for the money A little dated Pillows were flat
Convenience to downtown attractions Great Views Price too high for a hotel with only 1 functional pool, old dirty rooms, no breakfast options.
The balcony Everything was totally outdated,19 years ago I bought the same TV that was in my room.Bath was so stained we didn't even shower in it.Carpet was outdated ,torn and had paint stains on it.The Vertical blind didn't work properly, had to close some of the vanes by hand.Furnuture was From the 80's and worn. Weekend rate paid $$$ and was horrible dissapointment
I bought two rooms at noon on the same day we needed to stay. We arrived shortly after I made the reservation and the desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the rooms were not ready yet but we really didn't expect them to be as it was just about noon. When we came back at 3 they were ready. We found them to be clean and well cared for. No complaints at all Nothing
Staff very friendly and helpful older but bang for your buck, beds clean and comfortable and bathroom clean decent breakfast selection, overall very pleased with stay there, I was there to ride motorcycle in the park so my needs were comfortable bed and clean bathroom I only slept and showered didn't need room accommodations like being home just needed clean, location is close enough to walk uptown to eat with no issues Carpet worn but that's expected with the volume of people that stay in Gatlinburg, and small issue with shower head leaking from crack in screw on connection
It had a fireplace. White stuff on the curtains, holes in curtains, not enough parking spaces, there were spaces taken up by debris and those that weren't guests. We had make our own parking space. Old mattresses and chair were in the parking lot. All I could think was, "I hope they don't plan on taking those mattresses back in."
1/4 mile walk to mall Where to start! Rooms need updating bad! Hard beds, Old tv, lights over the sink wouldn't come on. Shower head spraying in every direction. Water stain in roof tiles, tolite handle broken, bathroom heater switch was turned side ways. Not good not good at all
Staff was nice, pool was enjoyable for my kids, and location was very convenient The room was rough. It had outlets that were hanging out of the wall that we could shake and cause the lights to flicker. The bathroom tub was cracked and chipped. The beds were very hard and none of my family of 4 got much sleep on them. The "breakfast area" was the size of a walk in closet with several waffle irons and toasters which made it too hot to go in, and the couple of tables they had were always full so my family never had a place to sit.
The location was within walking distance of downtown Gatlinburg. The cleanliness of the room could have been better.
The girls at the counter we nice and helpful. The view and location was great. It was quiet. It was good for us as we were not around all day as we only slept there mostly. The pool is nice. The breakfast was boring. I bought eggs and meat and made them in the microwave every morning to give us more for day. They are renovating so I'm sure it will be nicer when it's done. The wifi was awful I had to go to the front desk area to to use it. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay it's fine but if you are hanging around then upgrade to a better place. There is no coffee maker or microwave in rooms only a fridge.
I looked for a cheap place to stay, and that's what this is. Not the Ritz, but when you want cheap, what do you expect? We slept, there was a fridge, hot water, towels. We survived. :) It's located within walking distance of downtown Gatlinburg, and that's pretty much what I wanted. No ventilation in bathroom makes for a very steamy shower (and very quiet bowel relieving process, if you get my drift.) The sink was sorta falling off the wall. Ordered a king bed, got two queens. (Not end of the world, just use one for recreation and one for sleeping!)
Room was clean, staff was very friendly and helpful, and the hotel was within walking distance of where we wanted to go.
These guys just recovered from a natural disaster. The city had just burned down a month before our stay, and all things concidered they had done a bang up job getting things back to order. Only thing that got over looked was a problem with the cable box.
Price was right Rooms smelled musty and old
It was close to town. The beds were very uncomfortable, bathroom was in bad shape, plugs didn't work and the room had a bad oder.
Location and breakfast and room size Not enough parking on site when full.
Everything was great. Had an awesome breakfast. Beds and pillows were super comfortable. Short was from main strip in Gatlinburg.
It was great. We came in from driving all night from Louisiana, and they let us check in early, once the rooms were clean. We were able to check in about two hours early, possibly even earlier, like I said, we were tired! :) Staff was friendly, housekeeping was great! Very close to all the attractions, and good views. We will definitely stay again our next time to Gatlinburg. The pool area could have been cleaner. We did not swim, but would have if we were staying longer. I am not sure if it was in construction being this time of the year, but the fountain (??) area was not working and just looked sort of drab.
Friendly staff. Good location. Room was not completely clean prior to checkin. The manager had to come and clean up after the maids.
I like the closeness to downtown Gatlinburg and the beds were very comfortable and great rate Needs bigger TV different bed spreads and a little face-lift.
convenient to shops, the place was two blocks away (behind subway lite 6). a clean place not up scale by any means. would stay there again. met my request of not being on main road. security lights were off going to room one nite. could use another towel rack in bathroom. would like a computer in lobby for guest to use, and a iron /iron board in room would be nice.
cleanliness, price, distance from the strip nothing
While this is an older hotel it was perfect for a nights stay. We were stopping in Gatlinburg for a night and we just wanted a room close to the main street. The hotel was about a block from the restaurants and shops. It was clean and had a refrigerator and microwave which was all we really needed. The bed was ok and it was quiet. Would've preferred a room with a king bed but that wasn't available. Which isn't the fault of the hotel. Parking was easy. The only thing I would say could've been a problem is that the room we were in was in a separate building from the main desk so it wasn't convenient to go to the front desk if we needed anything. Check in was fast and the gentleman working as very nice.
The hotel was ok. It was located in a perfect spot. It was close to the park and right by the Main Street through Gatlinburg. The room was comfortable and clean. We had a balcony which was nice but the view was of a parking lot. This is a good hotel if you don't plan to vacation at the hotel. We used it to sleep and spent the days at the park so it was perfect for us. Free breakfast was a plus but you got to get there early being that the dinning area is so small. I will stay here again. The room and hotel were very basic and small. dinning area is very small so getting to the breakfast area early is a must. Hotel is a bit dated also. Nothing major is wrong with any of this and I would stay here again.
I was very happy with the room I rented at the Econo Lodge Inn. The room was clean and very nice. I had no problems with anything in the room.
We were a young family with two small children and this was our first vacation. The room was clean and neat when we arrived. Staff was courteous and welcoming. Breakfast was a huge hit with our 3 year old:waffles, juice, eggs and sausage. I did not like being in an adjoining room and the breakfast area was on the 4th floor.
The rooms are large and you don't feel like a sardine once everyone/everything is brought inside. They are really clean and nicely located. Everyone is really nice and helpful. The breakfast wasn't the greatest, but the Atrium next door is delicious and cheap! We will definitely stay again! The breakfast wasn't very good. The biscuits were hard and eggs were dry. I wish they would have offered water in the breakfast room as well. Other than this everything was perfect. We just ate at the Atrium for breakfast
Super clean. Close to everything. Friendly staff. Wifi is terrible, but that's not that important. I mean, come on! It's a vacation!
Room was nicely furnished and clean. Bed was SUPER comfortable ! Free breakfast was good. Staff was courteous. Jacuzzi tub motor was very weak.
Very close to everything in Gatlinburg.
location every thing was great we will be back soon family and friends will be coming there soon as well were telling every one how great every thing is. ants and you took of them thank you.
Excellent location, very clean, staff was very nice, breakfast was delicious. For the price it is the best place we have ever stayed at in Gatlinburg. We Highly recommend.
We love the Gatlinburg Inn. This was our second visit and we loved it so much the first time that it was our selection for our servings trip to Gatlinburg. Out also was where we just got engaged! There is a fireplace out front with some rocking chairs for socializing. There is a pool for the summer. There are a few rooms/seating areas for your family to hang out and done have fireplaces. The charm of this place really wins out. Finally, it is in the absolute heart of downtown Gatlinburg, so the convenience cannot be beat!
There was no hand soap.
For the amount of time spent in our room it was perfect! Very close to the main strip yet not too deep into town so you don't have to fight a lot of traffic coming to or leaving your room! We will be back! The rooms could use an update
Very nice, clean room with comfortable beds. Friendly staff. You couldn't match the price/service combination that the Mountain House Inn offers. Great little spot in a great vacation area. I would stay here anytime.
I liked that my room was by the water. The location was great downtown was right up the street. The hotel breakfast was AMAZING. There is no basketball court, there is a goal. You had to pay to play racquetball- which I didn't like.
Loved the location. About 2 blocks from the start of the strip. Tucked away with every room with a creek view from the balcony. WiFi spotty. Had to be on the balcony to have a connection and even then dropped signal frequently
We enjoyed the private balcony, and the fireplace, and the jucuzzi tub, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The Continental Breakfast was not good. Should have had fresh fruit, and Cream Cheese, and Bagels. Also, the hotel needs to be updated.
I loved the rooms . They were nice and clean None
the staff was very nice and helpful we had a nice stay
We reserved a room for a king bed for two nights and when we arrived we were advised by the manager that the room was not available, the previous customers decided to stay another night. Frustrating due to the fact we had confirmation that the room was available for the nights we booked, did not seem to matter that we had reserved and had confirmation that the room was available. We were offered a double bed room which we took due to the fact we had traveled over 8 hours and were tired. To add to our frustration we were directed to the 6th floor which we had to climb up 6 flights of stairs due to their elevator was out of order.
the location was good. the ad. said there was a jacussi, there wasn't and the pool and hot tub were empty.
Wonderful stayrite at least 15 words
The only honest thing about this "inn" (please read as motel), was that it overlooked the water. It actually looks out over the water. The small picture I see of a large place overlooking the water with trees between it and the water is inaccurate. It is the smaller, more run-down building further down on the left of the river. It is not the larger, nicer-looking building on the right. Do not be deceived. When I arrived, the door between my room and the adjoining room was unlocked (one of two such doors), the shower curtain was missing, the back sliding door was unlocked, and one of the doors on the balcony (between adjoining balconies) didn't even latch properly. The bathroom smelled of recent use and the fan/light were running. I was able to remedy the shower curtain issue. The rest of my issues were compounded when I saw strong winds rip a door off one of the balcony dividers the next day. The place overhangs the water and has stress fractures in the ceilings of all rooms (possibly as a result). It is run down, in poor repair, and the styling and layout (not to mention the furniture and appliances, are all at least 20 years old as far as I can tell. One of the dressers no longer properly lined up when all drawers were slid in. Finally, the parking was atrocious, with thick bricked columns framing the excessively tight parking spaces in the too-narrow parking lot the building had. All in all, a poor value for the type of stay you're given and too far from the attractions to be worth staying there unless you wish to pay from $2.00 per hour to $10.00 per instance for parking. I am exceedingly unimpressed with this location.
Balconies overlooking stream Parking
Everything was great except a very small toilet.
Location on river. Private balcony Pool falling apart. closed hot tub. Place needs a makeover
The view is great and its in good walking distances for down town Gatlinburg. The place wasn't like its pictures, Room was really outdated, No privacy on the patio. Bathtub seemed to need replaced. I called like 3 months ahead of time to make sure I got a room and I ask for two beds and they gave me a room with one bed. I won't stay there again.
Seeing the river from the balcony Ajoining rooms and no privacy on balcony because the people on the other side could open the door and see what was going on. I felt unsafe cause there was 3 access doors where someone could break into the room. Pictures on the Internet are nothing like it in person. Needs serious updating, besides the sink area. I felt nasty the whole 8 hours I was there. Parking area is horrible for big size cars. I wasnt able to open the car door all the way to get my things because of another car inches away. It was not worth the 58$ I paid. Don't book over the Internet cause they have the say so if you can check out or not!! It was my husband's first time in Gatlinburg and the hotel was a disgrace. I felt ashamed for booking this hotel once I saw it for myself.
price pictures are misleading , slump in bed, tube tv, dated rooms
The room was extremely clean and well maintained. The views were gorgeous.
Not one of the newest but it was definitely clean and the staff was very friendly. I would stay again. Great location over the river.
The hotel was good and the rooms were very inexpensive. The staff was nice. We requested adjoining rooms for our kids and had no problem getting our request accommodated. Our room was large and both rooms were clean. We were not expecting a luxury hotel and for the price we were very happy with our rooms. The hotel is farther down the main road but their is a trolley right outside that took us up for 50 cents per person. Definitely an economical and pleasant experience, which left us with more money to do fun things with our kids.
Going up to gatlinburg for a girls weekend in October was a bit crazy as the whole place was packed. But this hotel more than made up for the craziness. When you first hear motor lodge inn you think "um can this be any more dated?" But the rooms were thoughtfully updated and the rooms balcony hangs over the river so you get into how nice the place is really quickly. The toilet was really low and we made the trip way too short
Breakfast was delicious with many options. Staff was great and had toothpaste (which I forgot). Fantastic location. Less than a five minute walk to the aquarium and the strip is one block over with easy access. The hotel is on a very quiet street and there is a really nice sitting area down by the river. The only complaints I have are minor. The parking garage has some weird parts to it. It's clearly conformed to the mountain behind the hotel. Also the lamps between the beds didn't work, but the staff probably would have fixed it if I had let them know. Also there were plenty of other lights in the room.
location to everything was good. room was clean. no coffee packs in room, shower had slow drip, balcony overlooked the roof to the pool and hot tub
The hotel was pretty clean. The location to downtown Gatlinburg was fantastic. The continental breakfast was more than the cereal and muffins that you get in other places. The staff was as helpful as they were allowed to be. The bathroom was tiny and crowded as was the room. The walls were so thin that we could hear the phone conversation of the man in the next room as well as the female that was on the other end of the phone line. The "Mountain-side View" that we were supposed to have was the employee parking lot and a steep hill with a lot of trash and debris on it. The Kayak website leads you to believe that you can get a Smoking room, but you are not allowed to even smoke on the balconies of these rooms as it is a "No Smoking on the Grounds" property.
You can walk to everything in gatlinburg. It's a perfect place to stay if you don't need a very romantic get away. The refrigerator made a noise all night. The heater was either burning hot or off which made it a icebox.
Staff was nice. Walking distance. Pool was under construction and the website should have told that. I chose that one because it had an indoor pool and hot tub and pause about $50 more a night since other hotels had seasonal ones that weren't open this time of year.
Room was ok. Location was great. They turned the room right next to ours into a party room for the Elk Convention and it went 24/7. When I complained I was told "oh you booked with kayak.com, you'll have to take that up with them....". I think someone realized that mistake and tried to put me in another room but by then they showed how they felt about online customers. Plus, they don't give the premium rooms to online bookings. They told me that. You'll be facing the hill in the back with a poor view. You cannot get the nice view online. I'll never be back to that place!
Staff was friendly and very helpful. Facility was clean. Located within <5 minute walk of downtown. Probably deserves 5 stars but I need a lasting impression for that.
Very good location. Great value for this time of the year. Room was nice and comfortable. The bathroom needed some detail attention.
I liked the location, it was nice to be able to park the car and walk to where we wanted to go. We got to the hotel around 1:00 Friday afternoon to check in. When we walked in the lady at the counter was on her cell phone, on a personal call, she did not end the call to help us, instead she continued her conversation and helped us after she finished her call. In my opinion that was rude. Then while we were checking in someone called the front desk and requested help with their shower, she told a gentleman to go help them "because they couldn't figure out how to work the shower." Her attitude about that situation was wrong and she should not have spoken so rudely about someone who is paying money to stay at your hotel, especially in front of other guests (being myself).
Great location for the price The fold out bed was very uncomfortable. There was no workout room.
we liked it for the value
Location close to city Room left a lot to be desired. The bathroom floor was sticky. Refrigerator smelled horrible. The mattress was worn out. Probably dips 6" in the center with nobody on it. Toilet flushed on its own every 30 to 40 minutes. The place could use a lot of proper maintaining and repair.
value poor quality beds, pillows, etc. Hotel elevator smelled like urine. Continental breakfast was disappointing.
Close to everything Price for location Mostly very clean The last 2 mornings of our stay they were doing some remodeling 2 doors down from our room at 8:15 in the morning. Im talking pounding, hammering, sawing, buzzing and tile break at 8:15 in the morning. I asked the woman at the front desk and she insisted they werent remodeling near my room. The towels suck. Mold above the shower
The price was great! The staff was courteous and prompt. The wall are thin. We could hear (and feel!) the couple next door to us fighting. Doors were slamming, she was screaming and he was throwing things! It felt and sounded like they were in the room with us.
Location!!!! Right off the main drag in gatlinburg. Close to many shops and restaurants. Room was very clean, hotel was fine. Staff friendly. Price was great, room was small but accommodated just fine. Highly recommend.
Location TV did not work at all. Breakfast is just cold cereal and toast. Staff was rude and unwilling to accommodate. I would not stay here again.
