Will never rent a car through Kayak/Hertz again. Had to cancel the reservation due to a death in my family. Had to call repeatedly to get a refund. Only after plenty of frustration and time on the phone was able to receive a partial refund. Not a good experience.Reviewed Jul 3 2023

I became a Gold member in order to avoid lines and people. I was told I didn’t have to get in line just look at the screen for my name. My name wasn’t in the screen so I had to make a line. They finally tell me the exact location of my car. I get to it and I see a car that does not match what I rented. I asked two different workers there what do I do. Both of them tell me to just take the car. I explained to them I just arrived from a long flight and I have a baby. I do not want to be back and forth so please confirm. They both tell me just take it, not a problem. When I am leaving parking lot, the manager tells me I have to get all my things out of the car and go to a different car. I explained to him what his two workers have said to me and how I had already put my baby’s car seat in. Main reason I wanted confirmation before. He gets mad and me and tells me to move out the car quickly. I found it rude and disrespectful for him to treat me that way after I wanted to avoid all that and become a gold member for what? Still issues came nothing was smooth. I had my family of five getting out in the middle of the exit, rearranging the stroller and bags again. They refused to give me my license until I switched cars, acting as if I would steal something? I never cared for the car I just wanted to get my family to the hotel. The treatment was unnecessary especially since I was the one making sure which car to take. Avoid!Reviewed Feb 6 2023

My wife picked up the rental and accidentally purchased cdw insurance. I called and could not get through to a human. The office where it was picked up did not answer the phone. I stopped in a different office and asked to remove the cdw for the remainder of the trip and was told that could only be done at the original pickup location, which is ludicrous.Reviewed Dec 26 2022

Folks at the counters when picking up the vehicle had attitudes. When I asked if they were available to help me after standing unassisted for 10 minutes the man stated, "sure", with a tone. Then stated, "wasn't someone else helping you?" The female that was helping me initially, whom also had a terrible attitude, walked away while I spoke to a representative on the phone because of a cc error and never came back. I didn't bring the cc I booked the rental under and understand I had made an error. They were annoyed they whole time. Beat part was I was the only person in line so it's not like I was holding anything up. Also my vehicle smelled of smoke. I will say both attendants outside were extremely pleasant and helpful.Reviewed Jun 13 2022

A company should not accept a reservation when they know they will not be open when your flight arrives. I found this to be even worse when we contacted them because we were going to be later than originally planned ( both times were still late) and the agent said no problem. Well when we arrived the Hertz office was closed. We needed to spend money on a ride to our house and then a ride back the next day to finally get the car. Hertz did NOTHING to make it right and I was quite disappointed in their service.Reviewed Apr 18 2022

The staff lady did not type my NAME correctly. Didn’t have my credit card with so I used debit. They did a credit check. My name was misspelled. So I couldn’t get the car. Went with another car rental.Reviewed Apr 12 2022
