La Guardia’s shuttle system is horrible. It requires the renter to take two shuttles to get to the rent a car location. When I returned the car at Hertz around 10:00 pm I pulled up and no acknowledgement by the gentleman working. He finally looked up and said you’re all set. The shuttle bus was running but no driver. I asked the ladies at the counter and they said he is probably in the restroom. He was actually chit chatting with a colleague then he gets on the shuttle and says he is off shift. No one cares less. The representatives I met w/in person were above & beyond. They know their job, & were absolutely wonderful to interact with. My one complaint was my vain attempts to get thru to a living individual via phone when I had a question that I could not find an answer to on the website. I was charged a much different amount than what the contract and the customer service agent said I would. I never received a receipt once I dropped off the vehicle. The vehicle was absolutely filthy (gum stuck to carpet, vomit in window openings) and it also needed new windshield wipers which ended up being somewhat of a safety hazard due to rain.Reviewed Sep 14 2021

Kayak conveniently adjusted itself to show pickup at LaGuardia while I mentioned Newark as my pickup location, had to cancel that reservation to rebook one from Newark. Also, Kayak is middleman for another website, so what's the bleeping point? The lesson I learned was skip all the aggregator websites and go the actual company.Reviewed Sep 4 2021

Pros:Pick up was great. Staff excellent. Drop off not well marked (more an airport issue than Hertz, but maybe they can complain. Missed the airport turnoff for rental returns bc there was no signage until very last second and I was in wrong lane. Took 30 minutes to correct and find the place. (luckily I had the time). Cons:Dropped off the car after hours. We were charged to refill the tank (over $200!) even though we had returned it full. Tried calling Hertz but waited on hold for an hour. Tried sending a message through their website but got an error. Only option was to do a chargeback on our credit card.Reviewed Aug 11 2020
